I've been coming here for over a year now and it's the best decision I've made. I was in a car accident and after several months of working with my chiropractor she recommended I start taking pilates and I am forever thankful for that recommendation. The instructors are all amazing and knowledgeable, which makes me feel comfortable considering my back and neck issues from the accident. I feel so much stronger since I first started. The energy is always great and I highly recommend everyone to take a class.

Prior to joining this gym I had gained about 20lbs from life... Diana is throughly helping me with my weight loss journey. I have never felt better in my body as I do now. I am stronger and the food noise has diminished. Not only has she coached on weightlifting/ strength training but has also coached me on my diet. Lastly, I look forward to every session I have booked with Diana, she makes a special tailored program for my needs / goals and is flexible / adaptable with scheduling. Front Desk/ locker room I am always greeted with a smile from the front desk personnel. The bathroom / locker room is always tidy. The bonus for me is that they provide parking validation for the parking structure. I am always able to find a parking spot get in and out without a hiccup. The one critique I have for Equinox is that I wish they were open a little later on the weekend.

Joining Equinox and getting support from my terrific trainers (first Talar, and now Hank) really changed my experience of fitness, my body, and my life. I am now a personal trainer evangelist, and have convinced my partner and others to get training. As for this facility, I find it to be convenient, clean, and very rarely crowded. I almost never have to wait on any particular equipment. The few classes I have taken here (mostly yoga) have been a nice change of pace as well. And, as I mentioned, the training has been a game changer. It's not cheap, but I think the quality of the facilities and service is excellent (and I'm fortunate to get a discount through my work!).

The staff is also friendly, but I believe they could do a better job of enforcing the rules when it comes to the pool, sauna and steam room areas. Because of a lack of attention to this, the steam room has broken down and is still out of service. The fault does not only lie with staff, but also with the gym members who are not abiding by the posted rules. Signs have been clearly visible that instruct members not to tamper with these systems by adding water or scented oils, yet some members have continued to do so. Because of this, the steam room broke down in April, having been out for several months prior, and is still out of service. And, there are times when I have not entered the sauna because the scented oils that some members are distributing are not only too strong for me, but also others. I can see how some members would want to enjoy a scented oil experience in the sauna, but it's clearly not allowed, and they are being discourteous to other members who do not want this. In addition, some members do not shower when they leave the sauna and enter the pool or spa. It would be great if the staff could do a better job of enforcing the policies surrounding the pool area, and that some members would think beyond their own needs. I think larger, more visible signs around these areas might help, in addition to a more consistent approach to monitoring the situation. The cardio machine area can also get warm, in comparison to other areas of the gym. An employee told me that they have no control over the set temperatures in the gym, and that the cardio area also got warmer because of the electrical machines. However, on more than one occasion when this area was warm, there were only a few members using the machines, and most of the machines were not turned on.

It can get a little crowded during peak hours, but it's still a solid place to work out. Sometimes they run out of paper towels, but the staff will usually bring more right away when asked. I've been training with Coach Yhanni for the past few months, and it has been a great experience. He's very knowledgeable and always makes sure my form is correct to help prevent injuries. The workouts are challenging but enjoyable, and he keeps me motivated to push myself especially during that last minute when it gets tough. I highly recommend 24 Hour Fitness and also Coach Yhanni to anyone looking for a supportive and professional personal trainer who will push you to reach your goals. Angela

Most of the time it's ok, however some machines they clearly need more of. For example, the row machine (they have only one of) and pec fly machine (they have two). These you can almost guarantee that there will be a line. Cables. Lines are manageable but there is a bigger issue. Half the time there are literally no attachments. At times there will be say two triceps ropes and a single bar between the 6 cables to share. So, not only not enough variety of attachments (which is also true), but at times literally not enough to even have any kind of attachment on all the cables. I don't know if people take them to the private training area (which is not accessible to normies) or whatever they do with it, but it's very common at this gym and a deal breaker issue, I'd say. Sauna - insanely nasty. Horrible. Feels very unsanitary. I used it twice and both times my freshly washed towel, that I used there to sit on, caught this horrible stink of probably hundreds of peoples' sweats soaked in the wood of the sauna benches. I would've probably caught hepatitis A through Z had I not used the towel (half-joking). Still on the subject of sauna - not necessarily exclusive to this gym, but most people don't know sauna etiquette. They go in, wearing their sweaty shoes and clothes and do freaking sit ups and other crap in there, resulting in all of us sitting in heat and breathing in their stinky body and unwashed sweaty clothes evaporates. To those people, learn some manners and look up sauna etiquette before using it next time, that is nasty and you are just being an a**hole, with all due respect. That is not good for you or anyone around you. To the gym management - maybe print out sauna etiquettes and post them in a few places where sauna users can see? Have rules of use, just like you do for everything else? Overall, not ideal, but compared to some other gyms within walking distance it is at least usable.

It's also very clean, the staff is genuinely friendly, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. That said, I do think management needs to address one issue. There are people--young, old, and everyone in between--who sit on a machine forever, and all they're doing is texting on their phones. I don't care if you send a quick text between sets, but when you're sitting on a machine for 30 or 35 minutes just texting, that's a problem. I've seen it happen way too many times. That shit has got to stop so other people can actually use the equipment. management needs to walk around and tell people I know it's not easy but it needs to stop.. I would've given five stars if it weren't for that Thank you for responding to me, but I will not go up to the desk. I do not want that confrontation with any of the fellow patrons. I suggest that your people walk around and say something to the people that are on their phones continuously it's pretty obvious like I said every once in a while, I don't care. Yesterday, I trained wearing the exact same outfit and sandals. I completed my entire workout, and not a single employee said anything to me about violating any policy. Today, I came in wearing the exact same outfit. After I had already entered the gym, the General Manager, Johny, approached me and told me to come with him. He informed me that I could not work out wearing sandals because of their policy. I calmly explained that no one had ever informed me of this rule before, especially considering I had trained the day before in the same outfit without any issue. I simply asked if they could make an exception this one time since the rule had never been communicated to me. At that point, another employee claimed she had already warned me previously. That statement was completely false. She has never spoken to me about sandals or any dress code. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Johny immediately escalated it. Rather than allowing me to change my shoes, explaining the policy respectfully, or simply asking me to leave for the day, he told me they wanted to cancel my membership, gave me two minutes to leave the gym, and threatened to call the police if I didn't. I was shocked by how aggressively this situation was handled. After being a loyal member for over a year, I expected respect and professionalism, not intimidation and false accusations. Policies should be enforced consistently. If sandals are not allowed, then that rule should be communicated clearly and applied equally to everyone--not ignored one day and turned into a threat of police involvement the next. This experience completely changed my opinion of this location. I hope Planet Fitness management reviews how members are treated, because no paying customer deserves to be treated this way.

At times, they seem to engage more passively with the class and expect members to approach them with questions, rather than proactively checking in, offering form corrections, or coaching throughout the workout. 1 star for the app. It is persistently glitchy and seems to have recurring technical issues that make scheduling and managing classes more frustrating than it should be. -1 star for converting classes to a 1G format when attendance is low. This one was nice; enjoyed the free parking and all the amenities all the other ones have, like showers, but it is not top tier. Machines are broken; some have signs that don't work. There's also a lack of other machines that are more obvious in other locations; it seems like they only carry the basic machines, which is fine if you want a simple workout, but there's very little variety here. The palm desert location is small as well but has more variety than this one. I do like the privacy, though; it is not as crazy or chaotic as other gyms. Coming in at 9 pm on a Tuesday was great; there were only about 4 other people here, which I loved. The other well known gyms are busy and filled with chaotic, judgmental people. In this one, everyone was just there for a workout. Small gyms and higher price points do tend to keep all the $10 membership people away, which makes a big difference in gyms. So far in my return back to LA, I am in search of a great Anytime Fitness location, and there are others in the San Fernando Valley I need to check out. I respect studio policies, but the way the situation was handled immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the class itself was equally disappointing. The pace was extremely slow, there were long pauses between exercises, and much of the session felt like resting rather than working out. At one point, a participant actually put on a sweatshirt during class because the workout was so low intensity. To make matters worse, the class ended about four minutes early despite already feeling far less active than a typical Pilates session. What bothered me most was the complete lack of engagement. Lola never corrected my form, never checked my technique, never interacted with me, and made no effort to create a welcoming environment after our initial disagreement. I spent 45 minutes feeling ignored. Not even a simple goodbye when I left. There's no way you can have people doing legs circles and not touch legs. Same for exercises going across the width of the reformer: your head gets too close to your neighbors feet. I also hate that the cubbies for personal items are right by an open door in the back, so absolutely anyone could just grab your stuff. The set up is also very minimal, which on the plus side, means less clean up? But maybe limits what exercises you do. The classes I've had with Veronica have been amazing though, and I would ignore most of this stuff to keep doing classes with her!
