Meatloaf, Brussels Sprouts, and Mac & Cheese
Savannah R.

I visited Golden Corral Buffet & Grill on Sunday, 2/18/24, around 2 PM for lunch. Food: I tried a variety of different food items. Here are my ratings on a scale from 1-5, along with the description: Meatloaf: 2.5/5 (good flavor, served cold) Brussels Sprouts: 3/5 (prepared well, needed a touch of salt) Mac & Cheese: 3/5 (served hot, fine flavor) Pozole: 5/5 (flavorful) Grilled Steak: 2/5 (tough, under-seasoned) Grilled Corn: 4/5 (tasted good) Zucchini: 3/5 (cooked well, needed a touch of salt) Ultimately, my favorite food item to consume was the Pozole. I added shredded lettuce and diced onions inside of the bowl. The soup tasted even better with squeezed lemon juice. Generally speaking, it was nice to see that this location served Pozole and Grilled Corn. I usually do not see these foods offered at other locations. I wasn't able to try any desserts because I got full. The variety of treats offered looked awesome. Service: The service was friendly but not too attentive. It took a while to receive silverware at the table. I also walked up to the soda station a couple of times to catch the staff member's attention for a refill. Ambiance: The restaurant was busy and a tad chaotic with a lot of individuals. It was difficult to maneuver at times. The floor was slightly dirty. The bathroom was not the cleanest and had an unfortunate, putrid odor. Finally, the parking lot was overly crowded due to the construction. I had to wait for quite some time for someone to leave. After considering everything, this restaurant deserves a solid two stars at best. The food choices were fine and decent. Improvements should be considered in the areas of cleanliness and service.

Some bullshit

Dude I don't even know what the fuck I just ate, I feel like I was drugged. It was like hypnosis walking in. Getting my drink before paying like I'm being served military rations is bold. I did not hate my experience. Fellow customers were judgmental but also sad looking. 2.5 stars

The food was divine, especially the banana pudding you've gotta try it. Service was good, waiters had some good attitudes, the interior design gives off a homey vibe. I'd definitely come again

The place was clean. Alot of fresh food. Chicken posole had a great taste with all the fixings except the churros. They had an awful oily taste. Sliders were so tasty, and the dessert bar was delicious. Wide range of entrees and sides. My go to when i want Buffett food.

My party was seated fairly quickly. Our waitress took all our orders by memory - we were a party of 8! I got the Chicken Marsala: Chicken, sauce, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I started off with the mixed veggies - they were cooked soft, just how I like them. They were also flavorful! Not just regular ole steamed frozen veggies, they definitely were buttered and seasoned or something. Next, the mashed potatoes. I'm not a mashed potato connoisseur - matter of fact, I usually skip eating mashed potatoes when they're available. These mashed potatoes however were so flavorful! And it was not only the gravy doing all the talking, it was both the mash and the gravy. I was impressed! Lastly, the chicken Marsala. The chicken itself was cooked to perfection, moist on the inside & fully cooked - and with chicken breast, we all know how hard that is to accomplish. The sauce was incredible. I have never had any Marsala sauce as good as that. So much flavor, very savory. Altogether, the flavors worked together and worked perfectly. If only I wasn't an hour away, I would come here more often. I hope to be here again someday!

Unfortunately the bread was not edible due to the taste of old grease. I simply discarded the bread and ate the 2 piece of turkey and bits of bacon. My son enjoyed the Tri-itip, but again the grilled bread tasted of old grease. He enjoyed the fries as well. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but at these prices, and the taste of old grease from the grill, I could not recommend this restaurant. The bill was $39.97 and we did not have anything to drink! Go democrats! Lol!

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The "hamburger" was clearly made from frozen patties with no flavor or effort put into it. To make things worse, the waitress tried to charge me an extra $10 that wasn't even supposed to be on the bill. When I questioned it, the attitude was dismissive instead of apologetic. Bad food and questionable service -- definitely not worth the money.

Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

Then I noticed the customers cars- all new nice vehicles (MBZ sedan, new Ford Bronco, Toyota 4-Runner, etc) The bar section was kind of crowded at 4:30pm, only a couple of seats open, so we sat in a funky raised booth with our backs to the window. Friend said they have great fish & chips and she was very pleased. i was surprised to find the BLTA far above my expectations for a pub. Fries were good too- perfectly cooked to a golden brown. I would go back for that sandwich when in that area of town. The food items were each just over $20-24, four beers $9 each. With tax and 20% tip it was just under $100 I'd go back 100%. They turned a stressful situation into something magical and unforgettable for my daughter. It meant more to us than they probably realize. On top of that, the food was excellent and the service during our visit was just as wonderful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. This is the kind of place that truly cares about their customers. We'll absolutely be back, without Baby Bear as she is officially on house arrest! We'll be telling this story for years to come.

Delicious as always…read more My family and I decided to stop by Texas Roadhouse to use up some gift cards. This was on the Friday night before Valentine's Day, around 6:15pm. We called ahead to put ourselves on the list to be seated. We arrived at the parking lot a few minutes before our scheduled time, texted that we arrived, and were immediately told to head to the host table. When we got to the front of the restaurant, we noticed that they had a different set-up than the last time we ate there. Rather than checking in inside, you must meet the host outside. This did not seem to be the most organized system as it led to a large crowd of people waiting at the front. There was the vague idea of a line which turned out to just be a mass of people cutting each other to get to the host table. We quickly met the host who immediately sent us to the indoor waiting area. We were told to wait at a specific number for the host to take us to our table. We waited there for about 5 minutes before we were taken to the outside seating area. As someone who is young and doesn't mind loud music, I would say the volume of the music in there was outrageous. I understand that that is the vibe of the place, but I have never been in a restaurant so loud that I can't hear the person sitting directly next to me. Our waitress came quickly to take our drink orders, bring them back, and take our food orders. I ordered the nine piece grilled shrimp and substituted the rice for a Caesar Salad. For my sides, I got the Loaded Baked Potato and Mac n Cheese. The salad was brought out first and I was genuinely surprised at how much dressing was on it. I usually like a salad with heavier dressing, but this was almost too much. The salad was literally swimming in the dressing to the point of it being soggy. When they brought the entrees out, I noticed that they didn't actually substitute the rice and brought it out anyway (but hey I'm not going to complain)! The shrimp was nice and juicy. The rice was seasoned nicely and the mac n cheese with cheesy and hot. It didn't have the most flavor but it wasn't bad. The loaded baked potato was extremely loaded. I am grateful that they are generous with the toppings, but there was so much bacon I had to scrape some of it off. I was extremely satisfied with my meal, as were my parents who joined me. Our server was very friendly! She came by to check on refills and to ask if we needed anything often. The food came out quickly and as ordered. Everything was basically perfect! I would just prefer to not be seated in the stiff outside tables. Can't wait to go back!

I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh.
