I've been a loyal Angry Chickz customer, ordering over 25 times and always recommending it to friends and family--but after my recent experience at the Ceres location, I won't be returning until this issue is made right. I found a piece of plastic in my sandwich, which was absolutely disgusting and almost made me throw up. This is a serious food safety issue. I immediately called the Ceres California location and spoke with Maria, who checked with her manager (either Tosha or Natalie) and assured me that they would remake my entire order due to the inconvenience. I then drove over 30 minutes through traffic to get to the location, only to be told they would only replace one item instead of the full order. Had I known that, I wouldn't have wasted my time. It felt like they completely disregarded the seriousness of the situation and the promise they made to fix it. Not only is it unacceptable to serve food with plastic in it, but the way they handled the situation was even worse. I have a picture of both my receipt and the plastic I found in my food as proof. This whole experience was beyond disappointing--horrible customer service, lack of accountability, and complete disregard for loyal customers. I expected way better from a place I used to support. After having hot chicken on a recent trip to Texas, the wife and I decided to stop by this place. She has been there before a long time ago but did not really remember her experience. This spot in ceres is kind of far from our house and next to my favorite Indian food joint so if I come out here is for Indian food but now we have another choice. Wife loved her chicken sandwich, she got the hot and I got medium and we shared that combo which has two sandwiches . Medium is too hot for me so I'll go down a notch and she will go up a notch in her spicy level on our next visit. We added extra order of fries. I have mixed feelings with seasoned fries but these guys do a really good job with them, nicely seasoned, crunchy outside and soft inside, very good. Sandwich was great and can't wait to try some of the other sides in our next visit. This is a chain but their business model is one that more places should follow, their menu is simple only a few choices of the same thing but done extremely well. Too many restaurants have so many choices and huge menus and they end up hitting on some and missing on others and just mediocre. My daughter and husband both Gen Z would say this place is "vibing". It is very large with tables set very far from each other, a very modern and eclectic color scheme with satirical art marketing their chicken, large TVs all over the place and quite busy with a very young crowd which seemed to be enjoying the chicken and the pop music blaring on the speakers. Cold feeling, unfriendly staff, no kids menu! Excited for some Nashville Hot Chicken, I had been wanted to try this place for quite sometime. Was not worth the drive to Ceres. Upon arrival it looked as if the restaurant was not open. It was indeed open there is just a awaked breeze way to walk through upon arrival. When you walk in there is a great stand to order food, minimal artwork on the walls, and not many tables to sit at. Overall the restaurant has a cold feeling to it. Not sure if it was because it was not to busy or if it is always like that. The food is all fried and there are not any healthy options that we were aware of. Additionally, there is NOT a kids menu and they don't do 1/2 orders. Overall our food was ok, but not amazing. With the craze of Nashville hot chicken over the years, it is great to see this popular chain in the area. I have tried this spot at a different location and it was very consistent, which is a plus and reassurance. I came an hour before closing and found still many parties there dining. I ordered a Combo #1 Medium spice and a Loaded Mac Hot. Combo #1 includes two chicken sliders, coleslaw, and fries. A Loaded Mac comes with chicken, mac and cheese, and fries with secret sauce. Everything was absolutely tasty! The chicken was juicy, filling, and cooked perfectly. The spice herb blend they use is perfect and the medium was just the right amount of heat for me. The Loaded Mac came in a huge bowl and a mac and cheese lovers' dream. The chopped chicken pieces and fries complement the dish very well. Note that "Hot spice level" uses ghost peppers therefore a huge jump so be warned! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. The service was great and the worker was very helpful in answering any questions I had. On top of that, I only waited about 10 minutes for my food to be completed. I accidentally placed on online order at a Sacramento location and realized it when I went to pick it up at the ceres location,that I made a mistake. It was for $86. The cashier told me to call that location and have them cancel and refund it. I called and they refused to refund it stating the food is already made even though I clearly explained I'm in Modesto and in no way can pick up my food. The supervisor said he'll talk to his DM and call me back. But has not done so. I was bummed but proceeded to the cashier to place a new order at the ceres location. She asked if they refunded me and i explained that they have refused. She said would you like to talk to my supervisor? I said sure. Tosha came out and i explained the situation to her and she said I'll call them, they should be refunding you. She spoke to the supervisor at the other location and they refused and but when Tosha kept insisting, they told her they will refund 50%. Tosha disagreed and told them they need to refund the full amount, or she will have her District Manager call their DM. They refused to refund me. Tosha told me she is going to make my order and not charge me for it. I felt that Tosha Went above and beyond and gave out product she didn't get paid for, but it was an amazing experience to see such GREAT customer service. I would recommend this location very highly. Came last night and picked up dinner. Line was extremely long because of grand opening and they were also doing a raffle for a TV . I waited almost 2 hours. I know that's crazy but I was excited to try Angry Chickz. So I ordered 3 combo meals & 4 macaroni & cheese. On my daughters combo I asked for no coleslaw but put on side so I can have her try it . We got our food Togo . When we got home I noticed they did not give my daughters fries . So I had to split mine with them . It was weird they just put the coleslaw that I asked not to be on sandwich to be on the side , they put where the fries we're supposed to be. I never said I didn't want fries. Food was really good!! I got 2 chicken sliders medium & mild . I honestly liked the mild better. The medium definitely has a kick to it . My daughters got country & mild . This was our first time trying out The Angry Chickz. I had been seeing the advertisement all over Facebook. We were at the mall in Modesto and decided to make the 15 min drive to the new Hot spot in town. Walking in you notice the line out the door. The line was a bit chaotic since social distant has gone out the door. All customer that were in line were guiding each other where the line ended to add on to it. A better way to manage the line would be a bit better for overall flow of the restaurant. We arrived around 2:00pm and had to wait in line for about 20 mins which wasn't too bad since the restaurant is so new. We ordered our food at 2:20 and were seated and eating by 2:26. The cashier Janneth was super friendly and made sure to tell us about the spicy guide on the chicken scale. Lemme break down the food we ordered. 2 orders of combo number 1. Side of Mac and cheese 3 fountain drinks. The medium spicy chicken was just enough spicy to taste it but it wasn't too hot. The chicken wasn't dry. The cole slaw was a great touch to the overall spicy of the chicken. The fries were fantastic. Super crispy and so well seasoned. The house sauce has a slight kick. The drinks are self serve. Over all the chicken sandwiches we're very good. We enjoyed them very much. The only complaint I have was with the plain Mac and cheese. It was a bit on the bland side. I can see why people might enjoy the fully loaded one. Next time I'll have to give it a try. The restaurant was clean, plenty of tables. We did wipe down our own tables with wipes from our personal use. But there is a employee constantly collecting trays from the return stack. So far I have been to the Modesto location twice and have enjoyed it both times. The entire place is very open which I like a lot to keep from being super crowded. Super chill vibe in my experiences with very polite employees. Food comes out in good time, maybe a few minutes, more if it's packed that day but they still move at a good pace no matter how much I have ordered. I love the dry rub compared to other places that might be drenched in sauce. It helps you feel the heat and really get the flavor without burning everywhere on your face and hands like sauce does when it spreads. GET THE BUTTER RICE! I am a rice fanatic anyway but this is a must try. Very buttery but not soaked in butter to where it's too much, very smooth and comforting after having some super spicy chicken. Finally I have made my way to Ceres to give this place a try and I'm just disappointed that I didn't come sooner, haha. I went around 7:30pm ish on Wednesday night, I thought the line was gonna take a while as well as getting the food, I was wrong. The line went by pretty quickly and our food was out to us within 10 min it felt. I got the combo #1 and was told to start with a mild from a friend, because the heat level could be overpowering.. I had already been here a couple of times and this time was better than the last visit. I was in love with this place the first time but sometimes the sliders aren't consistent. Sometimes their doused with spice and sometimes they're not. This time we went in around 5pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. We waited about 15 min for our order and the food was pretty good! I got the combo #1 and I noticed the chicken in the slider was a tender (the same as a chicken tenders order). The food tasted really good and the combo's are plenty of food if you're pretty hungry. You get two sliders with the slider meals. They are open and clean when you walk in and have a few tv's visible from the tables. The girl that took my order was really sweet and helpful. After a year of moving to the valley I finally made it to Angry Chickz. My brother told me about this place and he's a major foodie. We had an order of the medium and an order of the hot chicken strips. The hot were super hot for me but the medium ones were great. White chicken breast and very savory. The breading was easy to take off so I took it off the hot ones and was still able to eat then with the rice which is delicious. I could just eat the rice but itself. I love basmati rice. Customer service was nice even though the place looks kind of blah.... A lot of open space, not sure if it's a COVID thing or just more waiting room. We did have to wait about 20 mins for our small order, so I think next time I'll try to call it in. Parking is reasonable and I'll be checking out the rest of their menu. read more

The Angry Mac has two chopped tenders, fries, and Mac and Cheese in it. Only down side about the place is that they don't include a drink with any of the combos. Also wish the tenders were wider to balance the bun to chicken ratio. As for spice level, would recommend starting out at mild or medium if you've never had Angry Chick's before.
