Don't hesitate because it's in a gas station !!! This is some really great chicken, very fresh and awesome flavor. Not like KFC frozen... Also the chicken is juicy but not greasy at all. The biscuits tasted very good and next time I'm gonna get more than 2. They have a big variety of dipping sauces, I liked the house sauce, hot sauce and BBQ the best. The people are very friendly !!! Unfortunately when you walk in the smell of old oil fills the air. The food sits tanning under heat lamps. We ask if the could drop some fresh food. The answer was no. Refused to honor coupon, even though it's currently on the Groupon page. Correct address, not expired. No reason other than, "We don't accept those coupons!" Never heard of this place, even though it's only five minutes from my house. But after seeing the coupon on Groupon I thought, "Yay! Someplace I can grab a quick dinner for hubby on late work nights!" That's why you offer coupons, so people check you out then come back again and again. But, you screwed up by not accepting my coupon, which was only a little savings, because now I'll never be back! Also, the restaurant wasn't even open. The food; four tenders with wedges, sitting under a heat lamp, and was $6.99. I had a $5 coupon I paid $3.50 for. So I would have still had to pay $5.50 out of my pocket, which I was prepared to do. Who knew gas station chicken could taste this good? I did!! When you've lived in the South, some of the best BBQ is usually some old timer by a gas station tending his wares , I used to live close to one such joint back in South Florida, so I know sometimes gas stations can surprise you! The chicken tenders that I ordered were perfectly seasoned, not at all greasy, and yes really "krispy". You could tell the oil they are frying in isn't too old (old oil has a tendency to make food smell musty) and the chicken wasn't grade D chicken (like I sometimes feel I get at some of the local fast food American Chinese joints). Plus the guys at the front desk are super friendly and accommodating. The chicken I got was made to order, so it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp, and so no heart burn later (something I've almost come to accept from fried chicken in my case). I don't know if I'd call this Cajun style tho ... I didn't really detect a Cajun kick, but then it was my first time and maybe I have to specify or something. Gas station chicken! March 1st...75°...motorcycle weather!! Had to go exploring today. Went to check out this service station in Hughson that serves chicken. Learned about this place from Groupon. Bought a Groupon. Rode out there. Found a Shell station with Krispy Krunchy Chicken signs plastered all over the front. A couple of fellow yelpers gave this place four stars. How could I lose? Well, I didn't... Walked in and was greeted by two very pleasant and helpful young men at the counter whose family owns the station. The chicken part is a relatively new franchise for them. And evidently it is becoming popular around these parts, partly because of the lack of other chicken places such as KFC, Church's, Popeyes or even Long John Silvers. The menu includes chicken strips (quite large), bone-in chicken, potato wedges, biscuits, sometimes fish and even shrimp. They do not have all of the items all the time so if you're interested in a particular item besides the chicken, call ahead. They can cook most of the items within 5 to 10 minutes. And unless you go at a busy time such as lunch or dinner, I would recommend that you call ahead and have them cook it fresh for you. Much better hot and fresh!. I ordered the chicken strips, potato wedges and a biscuit. Chicken strips were cooked fresh which came out hot and tasty. The potato wedges were in the hot case so they were not quite as fresh but still good. The biscuit, think Church's Chicken biscuit only better, was light and fluffy. Very good! If you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods or just out for a country drive, stop in for a bite. They have a couple of tables outside where you can eat otherwise it's pretty much takeout. They have six different dipping sauces plus a very good house-made ranch dressing. Check-in for your free piece of chicken. And also check Groupon for deals! It's approximately 55 miles from Stockton. South on 99, take the Whitmore exit. I will return! read more

It's located inside the gas station, a hole in the wall in Hughson. I know I've tasted that chicken somewhere. Ordered a dozen of their cajun crispy chicken and potato wedges for take out, didn't see any tables. Don't have to drive far anymore to get my chicken. read more

I placed an order through DoorDash. About 45 minutes later I got a call from DoorDash saying the order had to be cancelled because Krispy Krunchy Chicken's fryers weren't working. We were all disappointed. Maybe I will order again. Hopefully their fryers will be working. read more

So this is not what you are looking for when you are looking for good food. It is in a Shell station and there is a display on the counter with chicken, biscuits and some wedges. Looks a little "sketchy" to quote my wife and daughter. We decided to go for it anyway and I am glad we did. We got 4 strips and 3 biscuits and it was really good. Better then KFC for sure and right there if not better the Popeye's. Not sure where they are cooking the stuff or who is making it but I would give that person a high five. read more

So I decided to have a try of Krispy Crunchy Chicken at the Shell gas station in Hughson, as there were only 5 thighs prepared, I took them and found when I got home it was the same as Popeye's chicken, Cajun style, which me and my kids do not like spicy, and when I looked at my receipt, they charged me $12.36 for 5 pieces of chicken, nothing else with it, so to pricey for my family read more

What can I say? First and foremost, Hughson Shell has the best fountain drinks around! Secondly, after waiting for them to open their Krispy Krunchy Chicken, we were pleasantly surprised! The Cajun Tenders have just the right amount of spice to make them insanely flavorful, but they're also moist and incredibly delicious. They also have amazing honey butter biscuits, which blow the biscuits from places like KFC out of the water! They put the honey butter on when they pull the biscuits out of the oven and it seeps into the biscuit without compromising the yummy outter edges. I also love the fact if you need to place a large family order for a party or just to feed your tribe, you can call it in and they'll have it ready for you by the time you get there. I had placed and order for a family pack for a party we had and the chicken strips went before the food that we ordered from Tahoe Joe's! Love the variety, they have bone in Fried Chicken, along with cajun shrimp and fish, red beans and rice. and potato wedges!!!! All in all, we are thrilled to have something close enough to run and pick up on those nights you just don't want to cook, or just because.
