Glass in the Pozole
Rosa P.

Here I thought my family and I would have a lovely Saturday brunch, but it was unfortunately interrupted by finding GLASS IN THE POZOLE. Mistakes can happen, but what made things worse was the lack of genuine concern or apology from management. No one came by to properly address the situation, and the compensation offered didn't feel appropriate given the seriousness of the issue. After that, none of us felt comfortable finishing our meals. Truly disappointing experience.

My 5th time to this restaurant and not one experience was good. Food 6/10 drinks 8/10. This last trip was for sure my last. We park our car and as soon as I step out the host says "how many ppl" not welcoming what so ever. They take us inside and it's a slow Tuesday evening. I got my meal before i got my drink. The server was rude. And I went with my 2 children. A 4 year old and a 2 year old....now I am very aware they just got sued .... But they are lucky my kids didn't cut themselves bcuz that would have been another lawsuit for them. I worked in the restaurant business before and you NEVER serve plates that are chipped. I got broken plates, shitty service, gross food.

A spot in Hughson area that is a lot of locals secret spots. Had outdoor seating for my party so I couldn't tell about inside ambience, but I'd say perfect spot to come to in evening time before sun down; seating could feel more organized. This spot has a really good happy hour menu, my drink was about $7+ and I have to say it's a good deal!! I had the quesadilla while my homegirl had the quesabirria, both phenomenal and well worth it. Portions are huge, enough to share between folks and I still had leftovers. Chips and salsa were free for us so a huge plus! The waiter was fast and humorous about our questions so honestly felt like talking to an old friend at this spot. Come here with good company and you'll enjoy it!!

Churro French Toast

Love this place! I don't come often because I live in Merced but when I do, food and drinks are always on point. Went this morning for brunch with my boyfriend. Rating for all the food we had is 5/5 stars. Churro French Toast was delicious. Chicken & Waffles were so good. It came with both regular and spicy syrup. The spicy syrup paired well with the fried chicken and waffles. Chilaquiles was made with the red sauce and scrambled eggs. The mimosa flight was okay but presentation was cute. Definitely recommend other cocktail drinks on the menu if you're dining in for lunch or dinner. Service was really good. Got our food pretty quick and waiter checked on us a couple times. Will for sure be going back!

What other place can you sit down at and they give you a flight of salsa and fresh warm chips complementary as you sit in, or near, Hughson? Nowhere! I love this place. The bar manager is amazing- as well as her espresso martini. BEST EVER. I am in love with this place. Try it out. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!

Long repeat customer here to say I love Agave Azul, food and drinks are always to die for! I will say however that almost every time we are here and want a specific drink, they are ALWAYS out of something. Today it was blackberries for a special drink they have, before it was as something similar, but I don't understand why put out special drinks just to never have the ingredients stocked properly. Overall though, staff is really nice, always clean and unkept inside and outside. Recommend to all ages!

This was my second time here. Food was good... portions were very big on everything ordered. Loved what I ordered. Was very delicious, well marinated and spicy. I would give this place 5 stars but i felt service was subpar or average at best. They never came and checked on us for refills...but they did charge us the gratuity for a big pary on our bill. Got to say they were super busy.

Vegetarian chimichanga

The food and service was great. The servers checked in on us multiple times and made sure we had everything that we needed. The drinks were great and the chimichangas was delicious. We sat inside, which was really nice. Overall, it was a great experience and I love I'll definitely be back when I am in the area.

Lemon Drop: 7$ Happy Hour

My bf and I have been here twice so far... his co-worker recommended this restaurant and we are so glad she did! Every time both of us are in the area we definitely try to stop by! Our food, drinks and service has been impeccable (shout out to David), however, we even noticed the cohesiveness between the workers and everyone was very attentive, I mean probably thee best service we've had. He even wanted to replace our chips because they were broken towards the bottom! So far we've ordered the Azteca burrito, potato tacos plate, flautas plate, and the shredded chicken and grilled chicken sopes combo literally all the meals are *chefs kiss* the drinks are always looking aesthetically pleasing and great pricing for everything! They have daily specials and happy hour! My bf doesn't drink alcohol and they even serve virgin Micheladas, I've ordered the Beso Linda and the Lemon drop! They have 3 areas: the bar section, dining section, and outside patio with heaters. We're so glad we've found this hidden gem and definitely will be back!

QuesaBirrias

Aside from the fact that we weren't feeling so good the next day... the food here was bomb. We would still eat it again but maybe don't go right before closing (which is 8:00 on Sundays by the way, not 9:00 like it says here on Yelp right now).

We had to regroup and were headed to another place when we got a call back from The Fruityard stating that they had our reservation down under a different name because it was written down wrong and could not be deciphered. Matt was very rude to us at the beginning when we checked in a very condescending tone. He should definitely not be THR person who greets guests when they check in as his demeanor is deplorable! What saved the day for us was our server, Shelley, whose constant attention and sense of humor were fantastic! Her menu suggestions were all spot on, our water glasses never got under half full and she brought smiles to all of our faces. We all enjoyed our menu choices, and the salad bar was fantastic as always!

I don't like clam chowder, but since it was Friday, that is all they had. So, I got it for my son. I really wish restaurants would serve more than one type of soup on Friday, if they're going to have clam chowder, as it is my least favorite. The lasagna was delicious, however, I thought the price was very high, and they charged me a fee for a to go order: $1.50. For a total of $27.50!! Not a bargain. They were packed. The parking lot and inside the restaurant were full! It was a Friday night. They gave me my order pretty fast, and the hostess was friendly. The ambiance is beautiful outside. They have ducks, hens, and roosters running free. I love to feed the birds, it is my favorite part of going to The Fruit Yard.

It is on their healthy menu)l. I got double egg whites, grilled slices of turkey lunch meat and a lightly toasted English Muffin with no butter. The food was delicious and prepared exactly as requested-, without any butter, oil or dairy. The staff was sure to prepare my food without any dairy due to my allergy and you could tell they take food allergies seriously here. Their black coffee is always hot and delicious. My friend got a sandwich and I don't remember what it was but she seemed to like it ok. My only complaint is that I felt like we had to keep flagging the waitress down for refills (they seated us in the far back "forgotten" corner). My food also came out cold. I had to ask them to warm it up. And it is FREEZING cold in there every time I go! I'll bring a blanket next time. Customer service was overall good and will go back just because I love the meal I ordered so much.
