Churches chicken is f**kin awesome just like in little Nikki movie lol

Awesome drive-through customer service super friendly very helpful. It was a great first experience at churches chicken since they're now is two in town. You could tell it was made fresh because it took a little bit long, but there was no other cars in the drive-through so we were pretty much in and out just waiting for our food. It was brand new. Everything is remodeled from the old. Burger King looks great. Definitely will be coming back.

    Very happy with taste!

New location, so very clean and well lit. 1st time eating here in Modesto period. I didn't have Richmond and Oakland Church's Chicken expectations but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Chicken was delicious! Not overly seasoned and some may say under seasoned but imo it was well balanced and very crispy. The honey biscuits were also delicious. I had the wrap as well and probably won't necessarily do that one too often. Very happy with customer services, very nice employees and they were fully staffed on our visit. I highly recommend them and let's keep them around because the next fried chicken place is 20 mins away north on Standiford and about 15 mins away....the KFC and Popeyes heading south in Ceres.

The first time we came, it was just after this reel went semi-viral so there were a bunch of people lined up. Upon entering, the staff immediately let us know they were having issues with the kitchen and that they had no idea when it would be back up. We decided to leave and return another time. The second time, I made an online pre-order. I decided to get the meal deal for 4 (and a separate order of the blueberry biscuit fried chicken sandwich) for the most variety. This deal includes: - Chicken Option: 8 pc tenders, 16 pc wings, or 16 pc nuggets. I went with the 16 pc wings. They were heavily battered, and the wings were cooked through and still juicy. I wasn't too wowed by them though. - 2 Sides: I went with the honey mustard pasta salad and chipotle potato salad. The pasta salad was soggier than expected, but flavors of both were pretty good. Chipotle potato had a nice kick. - Loaded Wedges: This was literally a potato quartered into 4 wedges. Tastewise, I really liked the seasoning they used on the potato though. I didn't care for the loaded part (cheese, bacon bits, green onion). - Choice of 5 sauces: Personally, the best part of the meal. Their sauces are on point. I went with the strawberry heat, pineapple pepper, XXX, fuego, honey mustard (accident; I wished I had gotten the hot honey blueberry bbq instead). - 4 Can Drinks: Cool I guess, but wished the deal was focused on the food options. The separate blueberry biscuit with chicken was also only just OK. The biscuit wasn't fluffy or buttery and the blueberries were there visually only (barely any blueberry taste). The chicken was fine and not dry at least! The wait the second time around also wasn't bad. I scheduled a 12:15PM order, and I think I got my food about 15-20 min later. Overall, it was a good one-time try!

I was skeptical at first because I didn't smell any aroma outside lol. Ordering was really simple and they have a lot of dipping sauce options. I chose the lemon pepper, buttermilk and rodeo. Rodeo sauce was great. My son liked the Buttermilk I didn't get to try it. The Lemon Pepper was alright but it was mustard based so it mainly tasted like Yellow Mustard. Loaded wedges tasted great. Have to eat them fast because the cheese solidified quickly as it cools. The front counter associate was great with helping decipher on which sauces to order. Also pricing is very fair for the amount of food you get.

The service was amazing from start to finish. We ordered samosas, aloo tikki, garlic cheese stuffed naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chole (the chickpea dish), along with rice. Everything was packed with flavor. The samosas were incredible, the aloo tikki was one of my favorites, and that garlic cheese stuffed naan was absolutely amazing. One thing I really appreciated was that the entrees came out in their own individual serving dishes. Everything looked great and tasted even better. We ended up with a ton of food, plenty of leftovers, and for three people the total was under $100, which was honestly impressive considering how much we ordered. As we were leaving, the gentleman who greeted us when we arrived checked on us and seemed concerned that we were taking food to go. I just wanted to make sure he and the restaurant know that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. My family just isn't the type to sit in restaurants for long once we're full. We eat, enjoy our meal, and take the leftovers home. The food was beyond exceptional, the service was wonderful, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a great experience!

Hot fresh chicken! That's what separates Cane's from KFC or…read moresome of the burger joints or frankly homemade Tyson nuggets. It's the "made to order" hot fresh chicken, unfortunately at this location now I've had two experiences that lead me to believe that this Motto has been lost on the management at this location.. I work in Modesto, but I live in Manteca, at least once a month on a Friday or Saturday night, my wife and I go to Manteca to a very busy Cane's location. Sometimes we wait 10-15 minutes but the chicken comes back piping hot and crispy. The bread is hot. The fries are crispy warm . Eventhough at my age, I don't need the calories, It's a special treat, I look forward to after working hard all week . On two occasions however, my patience was lacking and I stopped by the Modesto location . This last time I walked in ordered a box combo went to wash my hands literally 15 seconds later it was sitting on the counter that should've been my first clue. The chicken was warm, but not the usual hot chicken and it was oily and the oil kind of tasted a little bit rancid like it had been not changed in the appropriate time. The french fries were cold and limp and the bread was well. Just soft tepid Texas toast. Against my better judgment I continue to eat the chicken, hoping maybe the next piece would prove the last tender aberrant. Alas, I was wrong, but I could not help but to let the very nice people who work there, including the manager know that I felt that this was not made to order nor was it fresh and maybe it was left over from someone else's order or reheated. It would be physically impossible to make it fresh to order when it was boxed up on the counter in 15 seconds. Of course the manager proceeded to gaslight me and say they saw me coming through the parking lot, but I could've been ordering a sandwich or a drink. I admire their courtesy and professionalism, but just admit the truth. It was a slow day, which itself is unusual and maybe it result of others experiencing the same at this location. Needless to say, the moral of the story is : go on a very busy Friday night, ro a busy location where they have no choice, but to make your chicken to order as they are running behind. True Cane's chicken is worth the wait. I hope this is not a sign of the times. A prelude of what's to come with soaring inflation and high food prices. But I know Cane's has a winning formula and the good news is if this particular owner and management take pride in their work all will be good again with just three words: Hot fresh chicken! , I lied three more words, change the oil!.

It definitely was enhanced by the valley sauce. Valley sauce - had a relish, Dijon taste to it. A bit sweet. But I liked it. The spuds - (side I chose)- 4 potato wedges that were battered. It was good with the valley sauce and filling. The biscuit came with butter. Golden brown and you can tell they made it at the restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Customer service was 5 star. The place inside was clean. Definitely would go back and try next time their chicken combo.

I can't eat a lot at one time, so despite some adverse reviews I'd seen online about the fried calamari and shrimp, I went ahead and ordered it-and I'm so glad I did! My hubby had the meatball sub-despite it not really being available during dinner hours, but he's not really a fan of pasta, so the waitress (and chef) kindly made special accommodations for him. We didn't ask, they helpfully offered to do so. Hubby said the red sauce was really good, and he enjoyed the sandwich. We've tried the Rigatoni, Gnocchi, Lasagna, Fettuccine, Lobster Ravioli, Mango Panna Cotta, and Torta Al Cioccolato and their fresh hot bread; all were enjoyable. When we've come the staff took some time to tell us a bit about the family history- passed along traditions and it's clear the recipes as well. This is a family-oriented legacy for these folks. And there's honor in that. If you're into just food, vibes, and low prices- this is NOT your venue. This is a place to celebrate a family (the owners) sharing a bit of themselves with you and yours. Note- people who complain typically mention price without thinking it's not just the food cost, but the lease, utilities, the insurance, staff wages. You're not going to get out to dinner here less than $60 for 2 (with a nominal tip and no booze). But THATS THE POINT- I'm thankful for the care, time, and heart that is put into each dish. We will be back and share this oddly-located, pretty tasty place with our friends and family.
