3. Garlic Chicken Combination
Alysia M.

Me and family just got back from driving 6 hours home from San Diego and didn't feel like cooking so my bf suggested stopping here. I'm so glad we did!! Someone of the best Chinese food I've had!! We live in Oakdale so we usually eat there but I would drive the 15 back here just to get another plate! I got the garlic chicken combination plate and the chow mein is SOOOO GOOD. The chow mein has such a different taste like a grill taste almost. The chicken is super flavorful too! All in all 10/10

Recently I called them at 8 pm. I asked for an order combination plate. They said No, only rice plate this time. I don't appreciate what they said. Anyway, I have a right to order the combination plate that I want.

This place was always my go to restaurant when I lived here in Rvbk many years ago. Their food was so good, I haven't had it so I want to revisit since we're down the street from it.

We purchased 70$ worth of food, it was all terrible.... from the rotten salad to the old bean sprouts that came with our pho sweet and sour chicken taste like nothing nothing was good

Since they have had the same owners for over four decades, I was confident it hadn't changed too much. First, a disclaimer, I am no stranger to Chinese food as I have traveled extensively in the Orient a number of times, and having married into a Chinese family who emigrated from the Middle Kingdom back during the Cultural Revolution. My wife is half Chinese and knows her dishes. We ordered a variety of plates, as you will see in the attached pictures. Every one was spot on from soup to fortune cookies (which are not Chinese by he way but that's OK). Total spent was about $125 with tip. The service was solid, we were greeted as soon as we opened the door, as were all diners. The selections came out promptly, were attractively prepared. Assistance was offered to pack up leftovers (which we planned on, budgeting in take home for tomorrow and Thursday's meals). As for score, I give the place it a solid 5 out of 5. We WILL be coming back. My wife was still raving on the place when we got home. My only comment not glowing is that the floor could have used a touch near the entryway. And if you plan on a large group, seating is limited, and the locals know how good this place is. It was busy with both dine in and take out. Give it a try!

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.

Wow, I was so impressed with the uniqueness of this place! Everyone is seated with their own individual hot pot plate to build their own individual hot pot. (Don't worry it does not burn). You choose your basic soup broth, choose the meat you would like, and then start grabbing things off the conveyor belts! It not only is a fun concept, you can get quite creative with how you build your hot pot and choose just the things to your liking. I was amazed that they had very authentic Chinese ingredients to choose from - wood ear, enoki mushrooms, bok choy, different kinds of noodles, fish balls, Napa cabbage, octopus, and lots of different varieties of selfish, plus much much more! I chose the traditional broth and they even had Chinese red dates in it plus wolfberries (sometimes known as Goji berries) in the broth just like what I grew up with The service was just ok, since it was our first time there we had to ask a lady to show us what we were supposed to do. She was helpful, but the servers don't come around very often. That said, the plates and dishes clutter up really fast and they don't come around very often to clear the dishes, for which I would have taken a star off. But my experience there with conveyor belt hot pot was so nice that I'm leaving it at five stars. What I liked best besides the authentic ingredients, is that you can become quite creative to build your own hot pot to your own liking.

Waitress is super nice too.

We came around 1 pm but the meat and vegetable counter was neat and tidy. The meats to choose are beef, pork, chicken and turkey. Your Mongolian bbq includes one scoop of rice, one gzyoza and egg flower soup. One bowl is part of the price but if you wanted a second round, it's only an additional $2 which is a good deal.
