First time here and we will definitely be back. Food was delicious and service was great. Vibe was low key, quiet and nice.

The Kung Pao Chicken over rice is terrific! The Mongolian Beef over rice is wonderful. The fresh, big pieces of Broccoli are really nice! read more

Wife and I get takeout from here frequently, but tonight we decided to dine in for the first time. The food continues to be excellent. Very fresh vegetables are used in all the dishes that come with them. For lack of better wording, their food tastes "light", unlike a lot of other Chinese restaurants. Service was good. Inexpensive for the amount of food you receive. read more

Quick lunch during a conference. I went with two friends and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was good and the servers were very nice and got our food out to us quickly and made sure our glasses were always full. I had the chicken curry. It was OK but I really don't like huge chunks of bell pepper. They should be cut half the size that they were as I had to cut almost every piece. The curry itself was tasty but mildly grainy. My friends had the sweet and sour pork lunch and a garlic chicken lunch. They both really liked their meals. All in all it was a good meal. read more

This was gross. We ordered like 9 entrees. I would choose Panda Express over this. I wanted soup and nothing good to choose from so I got the seafood soup. Do yourself a favor and never order this. It looked like aliens read more

Absolutely love this place. We have been coming here consistently for the past year or so and have never been disappointed. Easily the best Chinese food place around. We always get their chicken chow mien, orange chicken, shrimp fried rice and regular fried rice. We tried the cream cheese wontons this time too and they were bomb. Sat down to eat for the first time tonight and the service was good too. read more

I have been trying several Chinese food places off of On for a while and finally my God Niece came upon this place and we went there and was not disappointed. The food was good and they also offered bean sprouts. Oddly enough is hard to get bean sprouts in your fried rice at some-places they just don't do it or have it ,but I enjoyed this place. The service was great. The ambience is what it is. I've been back three times since my first time. read more

Always my go-to Chinese takeout! Love this place bbq pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, garlic chicken

Nothing fancy but by far the best ASIAN place I found near Modesto. The place is far from elegance offered by big city Chinese diners but for small town Chinese, it's far above the expected. Loved the mapo tofu and the dinner plate combo of kung pao shrimp with beef fried rice. Nearly all, maybe even all, menus were $10-14. Definitely worth coming back when looking for good Chinese in the Modesto/Turlock area. read more

Food & Service was fantastic! Very nicely decorated and easy to move around. Next time we have more out of town guests we will be going back. It was worth the distance! Server was very cordial and efficient even wrapping up our left overs. read more

Could't give this place 3 1/2 stars. Hubby and I decided to have Chinese for lunch and since our usual place is closed on Sunday, I thought we'd give this place a try. A bit pricey. We ordered sizzling rice soup, Peking ribs and rice. Surprisingly it totaled $40. Trying to calculate $15 for the ribs and $12 for the soup which means the large rice is $10 and we also had ice water and hot tea which we could have been charged also. No itemized bill. Great food but a bit pricey. Not trying to be cheap but I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. Being in the San Jose Bay Area, I have been to many Chinese restaurants and I know good Chinese food that won't broke me and mediocre Chinese food that cost an arm and a leg. Good ribs and soup but next time we will try elsewhere. Quality of service: A Quality of food: A Price: $-$$ Recommend: ask for itemized bill if you are eating in to make sure you are paying what you should be paying read more

This place is horrible, expensive and small portions, customer service is horrible, we ordered total of 3 orders 2 NO ONIONS explained we are allergic when ordering we confirmed twice they had no onions , now we get home try our food & boom discover onions we call them & explain and instead of making it right we end up debating . this place took no accountability for their mistakes. Didn't care we are allergic or the fact we bit into the food. Having to debate and then ask for us to come right back NOT acknowledging that we had to distribute an epi pen shot and on our way to ER! No offer to come another day, no way to make it right just come right back if you want it fixed! Which is why I'm posting this place may have decent food but the prices are high and as a local the customer service is extremely poor. read more

Wor wonton soup good as always. Ordered a combo plate #8 and the garlic chicken included was too spicy to eat, I've never had garlic chicken that was spicy like that. Wondering if it was a mistake? I was sad we couldn't eat it , my husband likes spicy but was even too hot for him. read more

the serves was awesome !!! The kind lady was quick and when I asked for a water bottle without hesitation she gave me one ( I'd rather pay for a bottle then have a cup as I'm autistic and it makes a huge difference) with that being said this was our first time here and EVERYTHING and I mean everything was hot and delicious. The spring roll was nice and crispy but everything inside was perfect the sweet and sour sauce was perfect temperature and texture. The portions we great too. We will absolutely be coming back c: sorry for the already eaten food it was so delicious we couldn't wait read more

I ordered the Hong Kong style chow mein but I paid for the most expensive one which was the combo and they allow you to put in notes what you want I told them substitute the shrimp the chicken and the pork for extra beef. But they did not give me anything of extra beef. I received my dish with literally three pieces of beef in the whole entire dish. It cost me like about $20. I ordered the combo because it cost the most money. I specifically said to substitute that and all I got were three tiny pieces of beef. I called them and they argued with me and argued with me and argued with me. All they needed to do was to send more beef to cover the shrimp, chicken and pork that I did not want. I did not receive any of those pieces of meat. I just got three tiny pieces of beef. I'm very disappointed with them. They were my favorite, but not anymore because I feel like they cheated me and they don't care. read more

Food is tasty. Service is friendly and quick. Love dining in. Clean, quiet, and spacious for large families.

Here's a killer review for Friendly I'm honestly at a loss for words trying to write this review because everything at Friendly House in Turlock is just that good. Where do I even start? The Wor Wonton soup is a total game-changer--packed with flavor, hearty, and warms you up like a hug in a bowl. Then there's the #9 combo with the foil-wrapped chicken, BBQ pork chow mein, and broccoli prawns--every bite is pure perfection. The foil-wrapped chicken is juicy and tender, the BBQ pork chow mein has that smoky-sweet vibe that keeps you coming back for more, and the broccoli prawns are fresh, crisp, and saucy in all the right ways. Oh, and don't sleep on the prawns with mixed vegetables--those plump prawns paired with crunchy veggies in that savory sauce? Unreal. Pair it all with a pot of their hot tea, and it's like a little slice of heaven right there on Geer Road. The portions are massive, the staff is super friendly, and the food comes out fast and fresh every time. It's the kind of place where you can't pick a favorite because every dish is a knockout. If you're in Turlock and haven't hit up Friendly House yet, what are you even doing with your life? Go. Now. You'll thank me later. read more

I've been eating the food from Friendly House for years. We've been supporting them with to go orders since Covid. I am so glad they are doing in-house dining again because the meal I had a couple weeks ago was probably the best from them in years. It was perfect. Everyone in my party was happy. Fresh, hot, and clean. Service was friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back. read more

This last Saturday, I was visiting a friend in the hospital in Turlock who was craving Chinese food. Friendly House had a good Yelp review and was near the hospital so I decided to try it. I placed an order "to go" of sweet and the sour pork which was good, the pot stickers were ok, but the dish they labeled as Chop Suey was horrible. We served ourself once to try the food but wound up throwing the food away. That was $30.00 I wished I'd spent at Panda Express! read more

December 20, we found ourselves in Turlock again doing errands and nothing really sounded good for lunch, but then we both went "Chinese" so we went back to Friendly House because the week before we were very pleased with our meal and service. The hubs decided on house chicken over rice.. extra spicy... and when I could see him wiping his scalp, that was a good sign... they got the spicy just right for him. My chicken with mixed vegetables came with white rice, but for some reason, I decided I wanted chicken fried rice, which was good, but probably in hindsight I would order it with the white rice instead . I did try a piece of my husband's house chicken and while his spicy was too spicy for me, I think I'm going to order that next time and just get it the regular spicy. Great service again and I'm sure we'll be coming back again. In fact, after the new year, a friend is visiting from out of state and we already decided we are taking him here!!! read more

This is probably the best chinese food I have eaten. Lots of flavor and beats the Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area as well in my opinion.

The food was great service is great the food was delicious I'm looking forward to going back soon

The food is very bland. Everyone recommended it. Wouldn't eat again. Service is okay. Portions are fine.
