This is some good Chinese food. I just stumbled upon this restaurant while in Modesto and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Mongolian Beef combo plate. The beef was very tender and tasty. I really liked the chow mein and the fried rice was very good as well. I was here at lunch time on a Tuesday and it wasn't crowded, it was quick to order and the food was out promptly. Finally got myself to try a new Chinese restaurant, and was not disappointed at all. I placed a phone order for pick up on Thursday evening, was ready in about 35-45 min. The restaurant doesn't do dine in after 3pm, just an fyi. The service was quick and efficient, very nice over the phone and in person. The food was really good! The honey walnut prawns were pretty large and breaded well. The fried rice was delicious and so was the soup. The decor was slightly outdated, but I like it, give it an authentic Chinese restaurant feel. Will definitely be visiting again. read more

This Chinese food is the real deal. I am so sick of having subpar ingredients at most places. This reminded me of the authentic, delicious freshly made Chinese food restaurants I used to go to with my family and my grandparents as a kid. I'm glad I read the reviews and took a chance because like a lot of them said, don't judge a book by its cover. I don't know if it's typical, but the woman waiting on us was the only person serving, busing, handling to go orders, closing everybody out. There was a large party there in top of that. They do have good combos and I can highly recommend their barbecue ribs combo. The ribs are generous, St. Louis style pork ribs Chinese sauce. Ordered Mongolian Beef special #6. Ugh. It was spiced with a type of pepper I have seen used in Chinese cooking. There was no flavor except for "hot". This was an expensive takeout to put in the garbage. $13+. The portions of chow mein and fried rice were huge, but definitely off in flavors. I was hungry, but couldn't eat this food.
