Total throw back to the 70's. Huge portions, neon red sweet and sour chicken and basically bland except for the salt. It's been awhile since Chinese takeout was on my list of things to get but here we are. These guys are working hard pushing the food out to the masses. I was watching a bit as they were finishing up my order. They moved like machines, they done this before. A fist full of this, a handful of that and a pinch of you know. All perfectly fine. Quick service I love this restaurant is the best restaurant that I've tasted over the different Chinese restaurants in the city of Modesto. They're quick they're fast they give you a lot of food for the price. The restaurant is clean is quiet in there cause most of the people always pick up or get it delivered Music or sound is very low great always great and always out there for you when they say it's ready in 10 minutes is ready in 10 minutes. They have Chinese sticks you ask them for sauce, hot mustard, fruit, sweet-and-sour soy sauce, fortune, cookies, etc. they give it to you Great service. I wouldn't do another Chinese place in Modesto. Haven't found one yet that can beat them five stars. read more

Seems like a typical small Chinese restaurant. The food is good and satisfies your cravings. Portions are generous. Dependable. We order from East China about once a month. The restaurant looks like it has had no updates or renovations in a few decades. Takeout is the best option. Fast service. But they put it in styrofoam containers. Wish it was the old fashioned wax paper buckets from 20th century Chinese restaurants. Recommended for takeout if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I ordered to go . Staff was nice . Fried rice was delicious. I ordered garlic chicken and broccoli and the chicken was not fresh at all ! It was chewy and not soft at all . The container was piping hot but chicken was stale tasting as if it was reheated . The chicken was around $15 with steamed rice but I wanted fried and to make it fried was an extra $4. I only ate the rice . It probably would have been fresh if I had ordered to dine in . I tried this location for pick up. Inside were clean, and the kitchen area seemed well managed. The line of people was also impressive. Sadly the food seemed lack luster. Ordered parchment wrapped chicken, Mongolian beef, and pork fried rice. Our parchment wrapped chicken was over cooked and burnt insides on all of them. The Mongolian beef was okay, but it tasted just like the burnt parchment wrapped chicken? Lastly was the fried rice, this was edible yet also bland. Ordered food on the phone at :4:48 pm. They told me 15-20 minutes. Showed up at 5:10 pm and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. Sat there waiting for an additional 30 minutes. I went to the counter and asked how long it would be and they told me 5-10 minutes. People came after us, paid after us and left before us. I won't be back.
