Had lunch here while working in Modesto because it was nearby my location. Pretty disappointing Chinese but the price for the amount of food was great. We called in an order for pick up, when I got there 15 minutes later it was ready and waiting. The 2 combo plates probably weighed 4 lbs in the bag. I honestly have no idea but it was hefty. The gentleman who helped me was also very nice and prompt. Unfortunately, the food was pretty lackluster. My orange chicken was miles away from crispy and the sauce was kind of bland. Also the chicken itself had that gross old chicken flavor that usually only comes from reheated chicken. The chow mein was also pretty bland. They did give chili sauce and soy sauce with the order, and adding those 2 things in spades did help with the lack of flavor. The cheese puffs were also disappointing. There was a good amount of crab in them, which is unusual for cheese puffs, however, the wrapper was thick and not crispy at all, mostly chewy, so all the enjoyable texture you expect wasn't there. My spouse had a combo with fried rice, beef & broccoli, and fried prawns. He liked it well enough but agreed it was pretty mediocre. The fried rice was pretty good but the beef & broccoli left a lot to be desired. In spite of the so so food, it's such a great price that it may be worth it to you. If you need a lot of food for not a lot of money, and you don't have high quality standards, this place will definitely take care of you. read more

First let me say my hubby was right the lil hole in the wall places have the best Chinese food . Came across this lil gem on our way back from the Turlock flea market . So glad we did the food was piping hot and super fresh tasting best flavored Chinese food I've had in a long time . Big portions too . We ordered the kung Pao chicken , chicken fried rice , house chow mein ,pot stickers, and popcorn chicken . We ate a good portion at the restaurant and not exaggerating we brought home enough for the next two days . We will definitely be back . read more

The food here was decent and the price was fair. I usually go with the honey walnut shrimp at every Chinese restaurant. My first time here, I order a combination plate and wasn't aware that it came with a free appetizer until I over heard another customer who choose fries as his free appetizer. I asked the cashier about the free appetizer and he gave me an option to pick from. I chose spring rolls which came out late and cold on the inside....Will I go back? I don't think so. read more

We tried this place last week. Let me say, you get a TON of food for the price. However it's just... bland. Nothing really has any distinguishable flavor. Rice was old and hard. When I went to eat my leftovers the next day, I took a few bites and had no desire to finish it and wound up, throwing it away. One combo plate could easily serve two people for lunch. if you don't mind doctoring your plates with hot sauce and soy sauce and giving it more flavor yourself, then you won't be disappointed with the amount you receive for the price. The man at the counter, taking orders was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was pretty dirty and loads of dust everywhere. Overall, pretty mediocre and I don't think I will be back. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. This place is SO GOOD. We ordered many different things and all shared them (with a TON of leftovers) and I loved all but one dish. Not a huge fan of the chow mien, but is not the flavor. The flavor is top notch, but I'm a texture girl. Most places I'm not fond of the chow mien, so that's not a surprise. You can even choose how spicy your food is on most dishes. Excellent! My favorite was probably the string beans. Soooo good! All of our dishes had vegetables that were cooked perfectly, nothing soggy. We will DEFINITELY be back. read more

Was in the area and decided to give this place a try. The outside surrounding area is not the best looking, but the service from the employee upfront was friendly, and the location looked clean for the most part. I did enjoy the chow mein because their noodles are thicker than your usual ones, but the orange chicken was just okay. I would return for their chow mein and possibly try another side dish. read more

This place is located on Yosemite Blvd in the heart of the sketchiest area of Modesto, but don't let that deter you from trying this place out. It is THE hidden gem of the Chinese food industry. I initially tried this place because I was searching for the best Wor Wonton soup. I have tried at least 10 places in Modesto/Ceres and this place won hands down; like they blew the other places away. I then tried other menu items and I have never been disappointed. They have a combo plate section that not only lets you choose 1 or 2 entrees, but it allows you to choose an appetizer as well; ranging from foil wrapped chicken to fried fish or prawns to egg rolls. There are 18 choices of entrees to choose from that most other places don't even offer on their combo plates. Prices for the combos range from $7.25-$9.25 and the servings are GINORMOUS . The restaurant itself isn't really inviting as far as location and interior goes, but it's family owned, the service is awesome, the food is cooked fresh with fresh ingredients and if you live nearby, they also deliver for free if you order $20 worth of food. If not, there's always GrubHub. Get a to-go meal (or two) on a Netflix binge night; you won't be disappointed! read more

We ordered a family meal from here and for the price, I couldn't believe how much food we got! Every thing was pretty good, nothing overly amazing about it. I did love their sweet and sour pork, chicken fried rice combo chow mein were all good. I did however not care for their general tso's chicken. I'm spoiled and very particular about my (American) Chinese food. This place over all was ok and like I said previously, the prices are so cheap! I ordered our food from DoorDash. They included all normal fixings-chili paste, soy sauce and fortune cookies. read more

We got the dinner for five on New Year's Eve (a tradition in our household). This was our first NYE in town and decided to try a place close to home. The food was actually really good! The place doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but the food will change your mind. The amount that you get with the dinners was enormous as well. Had leftovers for the next day. read more

Has been my go to place for the past 4 years now. Definitely worth trying their salt and pepper wings they are so great as well as their salt and pepper pork. If you are not big on chow mein try their thin crispy noodles all I ever order. They are one of the fastest Chinese places in town and definitely a hidden gem you will return to. Have not had a bad experience yet and will continue to be a patron for a long time. plus the portions are pretty great read more

Well Yelpers I'd LOVE to give this place a ZERO RATING...But because I cant...My family was hungry, nobody felt like cooking or going out. So I say "Hey, let's order delivery." After deciding we didn't want pizza AGAIN, we agreed on Chinese. Oh Lord I pray we don't get sick! Never having been to the restaurant or trying theirfood before, we relied upon the Yelp Community. I have to say this is the first time ALL YOU YELPERS out there LET US DOWN! I'm NOT sure why anyone in their right mind would give this place a 4 star rating!!! We ordered the meal for a family of 5. Now mind you I, myself typed in and clicked each item selection. Needless to say 20 minutes after the delivery time that was given to us, a very courteous young man delivered our COLD FOOD, minus one of our entree selections. By this time the kids are hangry, my husband is hangry and I'm apologetic for this disaster. So, I get on the phone to try and make this right. When the Man answers the phone he says "Hello." I had to ask if I was indeed speaking to the Lucky Bamboo. He said yes. I attempted to explain what my problem was. The Man then makes an excuse for the food being late and cold as they had 5 other deliveries and what did I want him to do. I also explained that one of the entrees was missing and again he asks me what I want him to do. I explained to him that he was the business that I was utilizing and that he needed to tell me what he was going to do. He said that they would make another entree and deliver. Here we are 45 minutes later...still no entree and better yet we had decided that we didn't want it as the food that we did eat was HORRIBLE!!! I have tried to call this business back, SURPRISE SURPRISE NO ANSWER!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BUYER BEWARE!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$!!! WE JUST THREW AWAY $60.00 LITERALLY! IT'S ALL IN THE TRASH... I've always placed an order for pick up and so far it has been pretty good. Their crab puffs are always good. Everything is pretty good enough to satisfy my cravings for Chinese food. The honey walnut prawns, I wish it was so battered but is mainly what I like to eat with my rice. So definitely will be my go to place when I want greasy Chinese. read more

Eat there three times. First time was just OK, except the too go food was full of juice that they didn't warm me about, the bag had holes in it, so the juice ran all over my spotless, immaculate classic car! . The second time I ordered a full meal of their General Chicken. Their General Chicken tasted like Orange Chicken, was in just chicken & sauce. And the chicken was sooo over cooked I could hardly chew it! . Finally, I ordered the Baked Fish. Asked if I could please get the Tartar sauce that the photo showed. They said yes, so I ordered it to Go. Asked them to please put the receipt in the bad. They said they did. When I got a couple of miles to my destination, I open the bag. No receipt!!! The fish is cold!!! No tartar sauce!!! What's worse, the only sauce is sweet & sour sauce, which is full of sugar and color dies, which are excito-toxins!!! The fish tasted terrible, and it was hard as a rock from being over cooked, that I brock a tooth trying to chew it!!! And that was all there was, just cold, bland, hard as stone over cooled fish. And no receipt!!! The day I will go back to Lucky Bambo will be a very cold day in hell!!!!!!! read more

I love Chinese food and this place has some of the best plates of food I've ever eaten. The personality and hospitality you find at this restaurant is exceptional. I have to admit I love the food here and the warm welcome I receive every time I stop in for diner. As for service, there were 2 people ahead of me in line I believe and after the woman working the counter finished up with them, I was promptly seated. She was always smiling and was very pleasant the whole time. As for the interior, there was plenty of seating and tables and it was clean enough. The positives: great price/portion size lunch deal, quick and pleasant service. The negatives: need better timing and crunchier orange chicken.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.

The sampler was good; she pronounced the egg rolls very good. The pork was a bit tough for both of us. She said, "Noah's downtown is better." True that, without a knife to cut the pieces, the pork was a bit difficult to manage. She liked the shrimp very much. The tinfoil chicken was especially good, we both agreed, large portions to be sure. We ordered two mains and fried rice. I found the curry shrimp very good and the chicken and veggies nicely spiced. The staff was pleasant and attentive and kept our ice teas filled. A definite 4 out of 5, a future visit may well raise this.

The chow mein had a little pork with their noodles. Lucky for me, the Mongolian beef was cooked to order and just took about 6 mins wait. To me, this is what I consider the ideal Mongolian beef. Thin beef slices that is brown in appearance with a nice glaze. It comes with tons of green onions, chili peppers and onions and topped with crispy rice noodles. Theres a nice "hot" as in flavor taste to it but not strong. It's my favorite and I feel this beats Panda Express any day. 5 stars The place probably is busier during lunch being downtown so when i picked up my order, it was close to 5 pm and wasn't that busy. Thing that I notice is their menu on the wall says $12.50 for my #26 Mongolian beef combo and when I ordered 2, the guy just used his memory to punch in $28.85 on my credit card. So sales tax is 8.88% now and when I did the calculation, it should have been less. Not sure whether they didn't update their wall menu price. But that kind of irked me since I know some places charge an added fee for using a cc (which they have no disclosure). Either way, don't rely on their wall prices if you order there in person.
