I used to love this place, but my visit yesterday (8/4) really changed that. I ordered the combination plate along with five different sushi rolls. The rolls were disappointing, they barely had any filling, and the quality just wasn't there this time. Even worse, the vegetables and rice that came with the combo plate were clearly old, anyone who's eaten fresh food would recognize the smell, taste, and /or texture of something that's just been sitting for a while then refried. The food and service are incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they get my order right every time! The restaurant itself is slightly off putting, but if you look past it you get the best teriyaki chicken known to man. Their sauce is perfect and the vegetables topping it are cooked to perfection every time. I highly recommend their Double Chicken plate with extra teriyaki sauce! It's really not that bad of a place to sit down and eat it either, though i prefer taking it to go. It's a very easygoing environment with plenty of seating room. If I could rate 0 stars I would.My wife and I came here for the first time yesterday so we ordered a few things, we got 2 California rolls and 1 dragon roll(dragon roll being "highly" recommended) and it was the worst sushi I had in my life. Walking in the environment was unsanitary and had only one person staffed. Lady was nice but food was not kind to our stomachs.. we took a few bites and could not continue to eat the food. Also ordered the potstickers which had a mystery meat.. and sweet and sour chicken where the sauce came on the side? Would not recommended this place to ANYONE. I came here today with 4 other people and one child. The place looks a little scary on the outside but on the inside it is pretty clean. The food was awesome and not too terribly priced. We were all so full after we are. I would recommend to anyone who Likes sushi, Chinese food or teriyaki. $77 fed all of us and we all had leftovers. read more

By far the worst food I've eaten. I ordered chicken skewers, spicy tuna rolls, and chicken potstickers. First of all what joke of sushi, barely put any tuna in it and a drop of sauce on some rolls, inconsistent warm sushi nasty sushi, the chicken skewers tasted disgusting. Super dry, overcooked and the chicken tasted like it was really old. Potstickers were way overdone, felt like I was eating rocks. I felt like I spent $46 on garbage expired food. I think the stars speak for themselves but I'll be 100% honest. The man who attended me was hella nice. Super cool old man with a positive attitude. The food came out quick too!! I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl because it was the cheapest thing on the menu and I'm not picky at all with any food, I really just be eating everything! somehow my order came out to 8 dollars even tho it said $5.49 so I was like alright whatev. The sushi was expensive, especially for the utter lack of quality, and so disgusting that I forced down 2 bites before going home and baking myself something edible. The wasabi was probably just green paint, and it was almost as spicy as common tap water. The hot tea was a styrofoam cup with hot water and a tea bag that I could have made at home. The building was dingy, the tables were dirty, and it looks like it has needed to be renovated for about 40 years. I've been going to Teriyaki Express off and on for years now. However, each time I have it, I remember why I stopped going there in the first place. To be fair, the chicken bowls are decent; probably the only reason I ever even think about going there in the first place. However, the place is pretty run down. The service isn't the greatest either. The dining area had dirty tables with used dishes and silverware while the employees sat around watching TV and reading magazines. Definitely not a "dine in" place. I got the double combo to go with chicken and beef. I wasn't crazy about the beef but the chicken wasn't too bad. Although the food is okay, I can't get passed the terrible service. It's a family business and every member acts like you are putting them out when you order. The young boy and girl who work the register will just stare at you instead of asking what you'd like to order. They ring it up then stare at you without telling you how much. When you give them money they just give the receipt then go back to surfing the net on their laptop or watching tv. The older lady who works the back will bring you the food; when I say Thank You she just turns and walks away. They seriously have the worst customer service I've ever had. The food is good, but the place is disgusting. The table and floors are dirty, and i saw the worker wipe a wok down with a dirty dish rag at the bottom of the sink before using it.
