Gold Dust is a staple in Ripon and has been around for many years. The restaurant has a typical pizzeria vibe with plenty of seating and a very small arcade. They serve pizza, salad, buffalo wings & sandwiches. If you are going to eat here make sure you go really hungry because the pizza is very filling. The pizza has a pretty thick crust, it's very cheesy and pretty greasy. You definitely had to be in the mood for all of that or just enjoy that type of pizza all the time. It's been years since we've eaten here. During the pandemic, we picked up a pizza and when we got home (15 minutes away), the crust was too soggy. All of the toppings rolled off onto my plate and didn't make it to my mouth. I was like a baby bird with my beak open waiting for my food. I put the toppings back on, folded it like a taco, and didn't enjoy the soggy mess. The toppings were good though. Today we had the Motherlode Meat Pizza and added mushrooms and olives. This time the crust was perfectly crispy, tasty, and golden brown. The meat was chunky, delicious, and abundant. Mmmm pizza is always a good choice. Here's my first time experience on a busy Saturday evening. It's always a good sign when an empty downtown is lit up by the glow of pizza shop windows full of happy patrons. You order at the front counter. You'll need to maneuver as there's lots of action happening. Servers delivering food, people squeezing past each other with to-gi orders, families looking for a vacant table. There is plenty of seating and most booths were full but we got lucky. We tried the white sauce chicken and artichoke pizza and it was bomb.com. A medium fed two adults and made for healthy portion leftovers for a delicious midnight snack. We also ordered a basic pepperoni pizza and it was equally crispy crusted and a hit with the kiddos. The star of the show was the meat ravioli. Baked perfectly with a gooey cheesy top and fresh tomato sauce. Be sure to ask for the spicy ranch. It's like the cherry on top for added flavor. It may have been just the day we went but they ran out of ice and the CO2 must have been out because the soda was flat and the beer ran flat, too. This won't dissuade me from returning but it sucked in the moment. Pizza and fizz is always the best combo and we were robbed of that during this visit. Two single bathrooms around the corner from the soda machine and there's a mini arcade. A couple games and mostly prize machine turnstiles. Service is attentive, friendly and on point. I have to say the best pizza in the world and that's not hyperbole. This places on Main Street what looks like it used to be a bank or something. The ambience is great lots of family and they're all chowing down pizza baseball teams having their group their we happen to have our music department from church "a token of appreciation" from Pastor. Just a good atmosphere, good servers, great vibe service was impeccable. They come to our private room and just ask us if everything's OK. They tell us when the next pizza is coming out because we had a big group. Now let's talk about what we're on yelp for the pizza. i'll talk about the pepperoni pizza it was the first of many slices first and foremost, tons of pepperoni and lots of cheese and just the right amount of sauce you eat the whole pizza, you don't leave the crust cause the crust is like a whole meal by itself, next I had a Hawaiian bacon chicken drizzled with barbecue sauce there was so much toppings and cheese that you had to reach underneath the pizza just to put it in your mouff mmmm (if you know what I mean) I had to cheesy bread slices. It's pizza but cut in straight lines. Then came the combination pizza I mean, I love round tables combination pizza. This is round table on steroids giant chunks of Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami ham you name it, it's on the pizza. The perfect cheese, sauce to topping ratio also. Oh, they also had bbq'ed chicken wings & buffalo wings, cooked to perfection, not raw like Domino's or overcooked like other places, perfect small crunch and lots of sauce. I can't say enough about this place no complaints whatsoever. They had Pepsi products which was very nice Pepsi. Zero my drink of choice. Gold dust pizza came highly recommended to us so we were very excited to try! Located in downtown ripon, it seemed as if downtown was a bit dead but as soon as we walked in the door the whole restaurant was bustling. There's a small parking lot out back and street parking in the front. We ordered a half white chicken deluxe and half gold dust combo pizza with regular crust to-go. Both were amazing and piled with toppings!! We prefer creamy sauces so naturally leaned towards the white chicken deluxe but we loved both. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the thin crust. I want to eat in the restaurant next time to try the crust fresh. read more

Got the Eureka special. It was enough food/drinks for four adults and three kids. The bread sticks were outstanding. The pizza itself was decent, they use quality meats, but the toppings slide off the crust easily because of excessive grease. My wife and I moved to the area from San Jose in March. We were told about Gold Dust by a very good friend of ours. We have come to this restaurant at least 5 times since moving here, a couple of those times in a large group that took up one whole room. Tonight my wife, my son and I came in to eat after a day of driving to see different areas of this part of California. We were looking forward to eating Gold Dust pizza. My son asked for a taste of a blonde beer, after tasting it, he ordered one. After ordering our pizza we sat to wait for it. My son said the taste of the beer was not setting well with him. We had him see if he could get a different one, he had barely taken a sip of it. The manager said no because he had tasted it prior to ordering one. This does not say much for customer service, and this place has lost us as customers. I ended up not eating any of the pizza, and I will not return. When I worked in the service industry, we always made sure our customers were taken care of. We never wanted to lose even one customer. Called in an order for pizza and breadsticks at 4:00 on a Monday and asked if it could be ready at 5:00. I got a text at 4:49 that it was ready. I got to Gold Dust at 5:00 and paid. They said it wasn't ready and they forgot to put it in the oven. It's 5:30. Still no pizza and they didn't do anything to try to make it right. It is 5:45 and I got my pizza and breadsticks. When I asked about it, they said they forgot to put in the breadsticks but had made the pizza. When I got my order, I asked if since they made the breadsticks, did they also remake the pizza? They said no and the pizza that they gave me had been sitting for an hour, but I got new breadsticks. Seriously disappointing. I told the server and before saying anything, she looked at the receipt. When she realized I was correct she said, "well we're really busy and sometimes they read it wrong when we're busy". I waited for a sorry or solution, but none came. I asked if she could just throw the right topping that was missing on and put it back in the oven, she said no, because the topping was raw, but that she could talk to the manager "if you want" and that there were lots of toppings on the other side so we could just pick them from that side and fix it ourselves. Everyone was starving so I told her we'd try that, I guess. Not a good solution. I asked if I could get my ranches that were missing. Never got them and was never checked on again. If flavor alone could carry a restaurant, this place would be Michelin-starred. Now for the bad news: apparently, I stumbled into the annual Fly Family Reunion. I don't know what's going on in that dining room, but I've never seen so many flies outside of a barnyard. There were several in the window desperately trying to escape, and I don't blame them-- even the flies want out. Nothing says "dining experience" like waving your hands around like a maniac while trying to guard your slice from airborne intruders. I ended up putting the box on top of my pizza just to keep it safe, which kind of defeats the point of, you know, eating it there. After five minutes of playing "whack-a-fly" with my napkin and losing, I surrendered. Got my pizza to go and finished it in the safety of my car, where the only buzzing sound was my own frustration. I made it through a slice and a half before I tapped out. The men with me had 2.5 to 3 pieces before giving up. You'll need a drink. There's a local root beer on tap, get that one, it's fantastic. I'd just modify your website to say no longer accepting phone orders so you don't waste customers time. I think it's a bad business model for a pizza place not to take phone orders, but it's your business I guess. Just let people know. Its been several months since we first had gold dust. This experience was a bit better but not perfect. To start off, we ordered Buffalo wings with sauce on the side. Wings were fantastic however they forgot our sauce. 3.8/5 but im sure if the sauce was there it would be a 5/5. We then had the cheesy bread sticks. I did not know how large this order was. It was the size of a medium pizza. Very good with tons of cheese. Key note, eat while its fresh dont let it go cold. 4/5 for the sticks. Finally the gold dust pizza had really fresh ingredients with decent portion of meat. Sauce was exceptional. Tangy bite to it. 4/5. Overall it was still better than our first experience. And I can understand why, I told my friend I was craving pizza and this is where she took me. The line to order was probably 10 people, but there are plenty of workers, so it goes by quickly. The order was taken quickly and it was a wait, but let me tell you, it's worth it! Make sure you get your receipt and they write down your name and last initial. Since it's so busy, you have no idea when your order will be ready. When we finally got our order, we brought it back home with us to enjoy and it was the centerpiece for our slumber party. The ingredients were all fresh: basil, pineapple, mushrooms and all! The pizza crust was warm. The cheese just right. We couldn't help, but eat more than one slice! Not bad pizza, but definitely not "the best pizza ever" as anyone who lives in the area has heard several times. We got the Gold Combo and it's fine and tastes fine but falls short. It was overloaded with toppings which is bad because then half of them fall off while you're trying to eat, there's so much water in the veggies that they don't cook correctly, and the pepperoni end up being greasy, floppy, nuisances. You also need to take into consideration how packed the place is and how long it will take to get your food. There's plenty of other pizza places around that are also not bad. Unfortunately, I think Gold Dust is overhyped and not for me. read more
