Unfortunately my car broke down on the Beltway, heading to Katy, from Pasadena. This happened in June and I was told it was my battery. Now I'm stranded on the beltway and no power. While I'm waiting for the tow truck, a Harris County Toll Road Authority tow truck driver saw me and moved me off the road to a gas station. James from Golbow's Garage met us at the gas station. He had my car on his truck with in minutes. He was super fast! He was very nice and talked to me all the way back to the auto shop. He is very knowledgeable about vehicles. We requested a tow. When they arrived I requested the vehicle be unloaded bumper first. The driver was first and foremost dismissive and disinterested. He said simply "no". I was taken aback as no explanation was offered, if for no other reason he could be polite answering the request. I asked that he please drop off as I was requesting and again, "no". I asked why not and he said because it wasn't loaded to allow him too. I just didn't know how to respond and tried to explain that I needed it loaded that way due to HOA concerns. He just stared at me, and I guess I just didn't know to respond and I just stared back. He gave a neck roll and as if to say "anything else?". I was uncomfortable and I stepped back and without another word, he proceeded to ignore my request and unload it opposite the way I asked. The 12-mile tow was $250 and they couldn't, no - wouldn't accommodate the request. Bad customer service at best and if he didn't know how to do, incompetence at worst. When I have to deal with things like this, I try not to feel the need to have a male around when dealing with things like this, because of the dismissiveness and rudeness servicemen can sometimes show. I can't help but think he would not have behaved that way, if he wouldn't do it, if he were dealing with a man. I was upset and I was disappointed. To top it off, the office said, sure we can have him come back ... for $95. Just choose a different tow company. Awfully upsetting encounter. read more

Horrible customer service unless you or giving them money. If they break your car while in there possession they will not fix it but instead do everything possible except admit it was their fault. WORD OF ADVICE SPEND YOIR MONEY WITH A MORE REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT WILL AT LEAST FIX IT IF THEY BREAK IT. I am quite surprised that a company like this is still in business. I guess it's from ripping folks off. This is a true story.. I pray that what they robbed me for WILL come back to them 70 FOLD. If i could give a 0, i would. Got my car serviced 11/2021 with an Alternator replacement. 3/25 had to get my car towed back to Golbows, because my car wasn't running properly and i had to constantly use jumper cables for my car to start up. I called Golbows back and express my concerns, the manager that is no longer working at Golbows was very rude and told me that it was nothing else that they could do. Now it's 4/20/2023 as i was driving with my little girl in the car, my steering wheel locked up on me. So i got it towed back to Golbows. Now Scott Golbows "the manager" is saying it is the alternator and it needs to be replaced, but he won't be doing it and that he can tow it to another location. Charge me multiple times for towing services. Scott Golbows, even mentioned the bad review i left for him. I believe that's really why he decided not to service me or help in any way. Reviews can be edited and changed, but this review will not be. As I'm sitting in my car, waiting outside of Golbows for my car to be towed to be worked on at another location. I just want to mention this is by far the worse experience i have ever received. I recommend going to Charlie's auto repair. Great service and he's very helpful. read more

This was my first towing experience and the bar has been set....high! The wait time between the initial call and when the drive showed up was about 20 minutes. Better than reasonable. Initially, I thought my car was going to have to be on the street, which I personally can't stand, but it was able to be parked in the driveway. Exceeded expectations. With this being my first time needing a tow, I had no clue how much this would set me back but my driver have me a tip to check with my insurance and see if my coverage will reimburse. Helpful hint. The experience we had today with GOLBOW GARAGE was by far THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! We got a brand new alternator 1 year ago and they serviced us as well . The mechanic who was was rude and so unprofessional so we did not feel comfortable coming back to deal with him. We sent emails regarding the car still not working properly multiple times . We got new brakes , battery and the car still has issues since then so yesterday the car doesn't want to crank on the way home from work ! We got the car tested twice at 2 separate places to be sure that it was the alternator. We get the car towed back to GOLBOW to see if they can check and just make sure the part was good which we found out it was not ! They owner SCOTT GOLBOW was unprofessional , careless , reckless and malicious because of a review we left form our last experience . Instead of acting like a professional business owner to his customers and trying to resolve the situation he continued to find any excuse to make us pay money and just be so rude and cruel . Not even understanding the dangers of the car shut shutting off in the middle of the street that's not okay . To sum it up he didn't want to fix what his mechanic had done and told us we needed to get service some where else and then tried to charge $350 just to release the vehicle . Maybe if we were a different race we would have gotten the help and understanding we deserved. I had a bad experience with Golbow's Garage towing service. When we called them, they told us that it will cost $175 to take the car from the seventh floor of the Methodist Hospital Garage to its destination. We were told that a special truck would come for this, and they took the time to make sure this special truck was available. A driver showed up without a truck. He insisted to drive the car himself and did not allow me to do so. He told us that his truck could not get in the garage. He drove the car down to the flatbed truck (not a special one). Later we understood that they charged us $75 for driving my car from the seventh floor to the first floor. It took him less than 5 minutes to do so. This was in addition of the cost of transporting my car with their flatbed truck. It was not the error of one employee, but it seems to be how they do business. They refused to change it when I called them, and they did not respond to my messages put twice on their web site. I will never use them again as I don't like cheaters. After initially calling Pop-a-Lock (a huge mistake) and receiving the absolute worst customer service ever, we called Golbow's to inquire about their unlocking service. The lady that answered the phone was incredibly friendly and, upon hearing about our dogs being locked in the car, worked immediately to send someone over to unlock our vehicle.
