On our way to San Antonio our car just gave up on us, something with the alternator that affected everything else. We were right next to the exit for HW 71 which is just a horrible place to be stuck; you've got people racing around the turn at full speed not paying attention as they exit. When Eric heard where we were, he raced out to come get us. We couldn't have asked for better service. He got to us sooner than our quoted wait time and got us hooked up and to safety in less than five minutes, no exaggeration. Eric was so kind and friendly and made the trip back into Katy enjoyable and definitely lifted our spirits on such a bad day. He was even able to help tell us what might be wrong with the car because he's so knowledgeable! If you need a tow or any assistance, give Golbow's a call. Now hear me. I have taken my car a Dodge Charger to 5 places. Count them 5. I was told we needed a rack and pinion, a new front suspension, control ball joints, rebuilt front end. The lists goes on. The issue loud rubbing noise front right side of car when turning the wheel left or right. This noise has been consistent for a year! We were about to get rid of the car. I passed this place one day and called them. Dropped the car off. They kept the car a few hours. Lifted the car and took a good look. Found out that when getting oil changes no one had been topping off the power steering fluids!! The power steering was durn near empty!!! They filled it up. Charged us $50 bucks due to the location of the power steering reserve and removal of the tires to get to the reserve, and the car rides like a brand new car! Now imagine our shock and gratefulness! Yes, I was stupid. I got my van stuck in the mud.. VERY stuck. Called Globow, who said they could get to me in an hour. That's my only complaint: it took about an hour and twenty minutes. But, when Buddy did arrive, he was very friendly, assessed the situation, and had me pulled out and on my way in about 10 minutes. Oh, and only $85. Tony came to my rescue today. And although I have towing service, I didn't want to wait an hour and a half for I truck. So after several business recommended Golbow's I called. He was there in about 20 minutes. Brandon helped my get into my car when I accidentally left the keys in there. Good conversation made you feel like you didn't even spend any money. Speaking about the cost of that certain service. Most people would never say they are a "fan" of any auto repair. It's not the most fun thing to go through after all. I have never had any extreme type of repairs at this shop, but I have found them willing to help if you ask. In my case, I needed some lights replaced on my SUV for it to pass inspection. For this SUV, I couldn't order factory parts anymore since the style had changed a lot since it was initally released, so I needed after-market parts. With that I called Golbow's and asked if they would just place the parts in if I purchased them for a flat fee. They agreed. I don't notice a lot of their wrecker drivers on Katy's streets lately, but I know theirs were more courteous (or so it seemed) and didn't try to run you off the road. While they may have slowed down on their wrecker service, you can always go by on weekends for a snowcone or barbeque from one of their stands outside. read more

All I went there for was a state inspection. The guy was extremely rude to me. Right way I have never been so offended. He made up an excuse on how my window would not pass inspection, which I looked up and is actually NOT on the inspection requirements. I told him that the window is not part of the inspection, & he continued to say that ( which now he is lying outright) he would not pass my car, that he would just state he deemed my car unsafe to drive so I wouldn't pass. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a quick retort, so I simply left. Never will I go to them again. read more

We miscalculated a turn with our motorhome which we purchased less that 2 weeks ago. Our passenger side rear tires ended up in thick mud in a ditch. As the back end of the bus sunk into the mud, the motorhome listed to the side. We were in a most precarious position on a well travelled road in Katy. The situation was hairy to say the least. Katy PD came out to direct traffic and called Golbows. Mitch and Eric came to the rescue, arriving on a Sunday afternoon within 30 minutes. Mitch arrived first and strategized the situation, calling a second truck to work in tandem to get us back on the road with minimal damage. A situation that could have caused massive, expensive damage to our beloved new home was quickly and efficiently resolved by these professionals. My daughter called me and said she had a flat tire. I was at work, and by the time I could get home, she had called Golbow's and they were there just a few minutes later. Turned out her tire wasn't the problem. She had busted an alloy rim, so fixing the tire wasn't going to help. Her spare was underneath in the rear, but the tool to let it down was apparently removed by the previous owner. We had no way to access the spare. The man had already jacked up the car and removed the damaged wheel, so he put the jack from the car under it and removed his jack, saying there was nothing else that could be done until we could access the spare. I asked him what we owed him. He replied, "Don't worry about it." Really? That's integrity. If he couldn't finish the job, he wouldn't charge me. I will definitely call them again when the need arises. read more

A Total rip-off!! Brought my truck for repairs, transmission fluid change and coolant flush. Charged $326 for trans fluid change; and almost $185 for a coolant flush. The mark-ups on the parts are ridiculous. Used after market off brand filters and fluids and charged more than oem prices. Definitely would not recommend to anyone. read more
