Thankfully I'd tried it a few times in the past, so I wasn't lost. I wasn't expecting 1-on-1 instruction though, so it was fine. The instructor made me feel very comfortable choosing to do modified moves when the arthritis in my knees forced me to do something else. I love that we were instructed to use blocks and pillows and blankets as needed to aid us with our balance or stretching or to cushion our knees or rear. The classes I'd taken in the past (elsewhere) never had those.

I have never done an actual yoga class, so I was definitely intimidated at first. Well starting from the very first class, I felt so welcomed. I've taken about 6 classes so far from beginning yoga to hot yoga, cycle class, Pilates, and gentle yoga. I enjoyed every single class, and even though it's only been about two weeks I'm definitely feeling the difference in my body! I leave every class with a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that I completed the class! I've been challenged for sure and I absolutely want to stick to this new way of life! I'm not sure I can afford a membership after my trial runs out, but I'm going to look into it. On the day's we didn't make it to the studio, I did classes on YouTube, but it's just not the same. I love being in the class setting and having the instructor's right there. I'm hoping so much that I'll be able to do it financially. Everyone here is so nice and makes you feel so welcome. The instructor's are also so good at giving you the individual instruction you need, I told them I'm new to this and they really work with you when your a beginner. This was by far the best Christmas gift my daughter has ever gotten me!!!

Sol is as good as it gets. To preface, I've been practicing (and just recently got RYT-200…read morecertified) for 10+ years. Having been to many studios over the years, I've become quite discerning. Yoga isn't cheap and I'm picky about where I practice yoga for that reason. Much of my practice takes place at home but that's about to change now that I moved to Frederick. Stopped in over the weekend to give Sol a try and purchased the 2-week new student special for $25. I've taken two classes already, gentle yoga and a vinyasa flow (all levels). Wonderful vibe, excellent instructors, tons of class offerings/workshops and reasonable prices. They offer all sorts of options; if you're not interested in packages you can drop in and they offer discounted rates for some of their classes, just check the schedule. You can pay online or in person. I love that they offer complementary hot tea, by local tea shop Voila which is only minutes down the road. I've reviewed them as well (5 stars.. amazing tea). Not only am I so happy to now be living in Frederick, but the icing on the cake is that I have a wonderful yoga studio I can come to all the time to help me sustain my personal practice. Helpful tip: there's a parking lot in the back, it's on the left side of Patrick St right before you get to Sol. It's free :)

I'd never done yoga before but I figured pre-natal classes wouldn't be too hard since we fatsos can't move too quickly. Well, the instructors make sure you move and change poses carefully but that doesn't mean you don't get a workout! Particularly after Keri's class, I left with sore muscles and feeling like I'd had my first real workout in months! The front desk staff is very friendly and you can rent mats or buy water there. They also offer tea, which is a nice touch. If you're worried about your class filling up, making resevations via the online system is a breeze. I don't have other studios to compare Sol Yoga to but the rooms are large so that people aren't jammed in next to each other. The building also has its own parking lot in back which is almost unheard of in downtown Frederick. Namaste!

The location was easy to find. We didn't bring yoga mats but they had plenty for us to use. Bonnie Abbott was the instructor and I can't say enough positive things about her. I've torn/destroyed my ACL and meniscus and she was so helpful at giving me alternate exercises. Kareem and Nick enjoyed it as well! I HIGHLY recommend Bonnie and the Adaptive Slo Flo Yoga at Yogamour. Here is Bonnie's background provided on their site: Bonnie Abbott, E-RYT 500, is a trauma-informed yoga teacher passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces while also offering dynamic and accessible yoga classes for people of all body types and abilities. Her approach is rooted in compassion, connection, and making yoga accessible to everyone. Bonnie specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Bonnie has also been teaching children in multiple settings since 2005, and kids yoga specifically since 2019. Bonnie also provides practical, engaging education on nervous system regulation to schools, daycares, and community organizations.

Unfortunately, the actual workshop was the complete opposite. It involved expressive dance, chanting, and movement that felt far outside the scope of what was advertised. It wasn't at all what we signed up for, and we weren't the only ones who felt this way--another attendee left before we did and confirmed that the description hadn't aligned with the experience. Even before the workshop, communication with Yogamour was disorganized and frustrating. I tried for months to confirm workshop details. The first number I called turned out to belong to someone currently teaching abroad, and though I left a detailed voicemail, I never received a response. I only learned they were out of the country after calling a second number listed on the site. That person gave me an email contact, but I never received a reply from them either--something that would be unacceptable in most professional environments. I even made a trip to the Yogamour location in Frederick in hopes of speaking with someone in person. After waiting for a class to end, I was ultimately told to "check the website," which felt dismissive and unhelpful. Despite all that, I still proceeded because the person I was buying this for really wanted to try it. We visited the website together and chose what we believed was the right session. But when the workshop finally happened on May 18, 2025, it was simply not what was described. We stayed for about an hour out of the scheduled two, giving it a fair chance before leaving--disappointed and frankly, a bit frustrated. I would not recommend Yogamour based on this experience. Communication was poor, follow-up was nonexistent, and the actual workshop did not match what was advertised. I hope this review prompts the team to reconsider how they handle both customer inquiries and workshop descriptions. At the very least, I'd appreciate some form of acknowledgment or consideration for the experience we had--and the time and effort put into trying to make it special for someone else. (Workshop was on May 18, 2025)

The parking lot is small, but absolutely adequate for the businesses. In order to find the studio, you will walk in the back door, take two-half flights of stairs up, walk down a hallway and across the house to find the stairs to the third floor. Up one more flight of stairs and not only are you warmed up, but you've found the studio! All kidding aside, it's really not difficult to find, as there is plenty of signage. The studio itself has hardwood-looking laminate flooring and a big window on each wall. There are candles strategically placed around giving the studio a really cozy, relaxing vibe. They also provide mats, blocks, and straps, or you can bring your own. I purchased a 20-pack of classes and so far I've gone to two: Power Hour and Vinyasa Flow I/II. There isn't a ton of room upstairs, but in both classes, we were below max capacity. There were 4 of us in one class and 5 in the other. I really, really enjoy this about it. Both Ariana and Kathy were super friendly, chill, and willing to not just help you perfect your poses, but teach you the correct ways to push yourself and go deeper into postures. At the beginning of their respective classes, they both asked if anyone had injuries, so they could help with modifications, or if there were any special requests. It's almost like you're getting a private lesson. Holla! Clarksburg Yoga & Wellness uses MindBody (https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/home?studioid=255113) for scheduling, which works well. I suggest registering and signing up for classes before you go. This saves your spot in class and keeps track of classes you have attended and want to attend. I'm going to Pilates tonight and am looking forward to it!
