He chatted with us for a really long time, asking about what we were interested in, why we popped in, and on and on. He also told us his own history and the Boulder Yard's history. He gave us a few specific suggestions and ideas, including that his sets are a bit different than most (they are) and, more important, his floor cushioning is very different than most other gyms. It is. It is much MUCH softer than most which is good but he suggested taking a few falls before we went too high just to get used to the feel. It's also like walking on the beach --- walking from one side of the room to the other will wear out your legs. His walls are not textured (mostly) so if you're planning to smear a lot --- well, you won't. But it is more realistic this way. The majority of the place is boulders but he's also got two workout areas with equipment, two separate rooms that he uses to teach some martial arts (didn't catch what kind), and, for the helluvit, a Nintendo/Playstation/whatever setup for, I guess, if you're tired and just want to zone a bit. We'll absolutely be back. We paid $54 for two day passes; quite reasonable I think. Oh, and he does his own woodworking (as do my partner and I). The website had a free pass for visitors. The inside had two floors and had tons of equipment. Being a gym rat for most of my adult life and an amateur bodybuilding competitor, believe me when I say this place has plenty of equipment. I did not have time to see everything but very clean! Matt (Mannick, DPT), my therapist consistently combined clinical skill with a calm encouraging manner. My concerns of being a 77y female who was minimally to moderately active were concerns of being treated as 'old' were immediately removed. The programs Matt designed were respectfully age-related still challenging strength, balance and endurance so I could safely continue doing the exercises at home. My presenting symptom ( sciatic pain) was treated swiftly allowing me to continue my activities without pain. And additionally he got my frequent sense of humor comments. With that original call I was immediately scheduled for at least a month, maybe two. When I arrive for my schedule appointments the front line staff checks me in quickly and notifies my therapist. Pretty soon after, my therapist comes to get me and we begin. Zach, is my therapist and I'm very grateful to have him. From the start, Zach was very personable. He makes me feel comfortable and always has a great plan of action. When I started at R2P I could barely drive my car and I definitely couldn't walk up stairs. Now, I can drive my car for hours at a time and I'm almost back to walking up stairs normally. Zach has a very good treatment plan for me. He makes me put in the work but I never over do it. At the beginning of the session I don't think I'm going to make it through but at the end I feel really good and I feel like I accomplished something. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend R2P to anyone trying to get back to regular activities or to any sport.

I joined for my first virtual ride with LifeCycle today with Meghan Jackson. She has been teaching less than a year, but you can't teach swagger or passion and she has both. Even across video, her energy reached through the screen and turned my knob to the right, several times. At the end of the ride, her reflection time hit me hard. For virtual classes, you are sent a link in advance of class. The instructor know you are there and you have the option to stay on or off camera. 50 minutes of hard work and joy with a talented instructor and rising star! Go take her class and start your day ready to take on the world!

Having grown up in a military family, I enjoyed seeing how they incorporate that into each workout as you "fall in line" and have a battle buddy you pair up with (in this case, my Army veteran Father-In-Law)! I opine that some equipment could be upgraded (count the reps, timer, more of an ability to personalize the machines via adjustments - al things i have experienced at other PF locations). I also opine that the layout could be improved - keep the lower body machines together for instance. But these points are not as important as the vibe at this location - people need ot feel positive about exercising and this was accomplished at this site better than any other I have visited (including my home location).
