I cannot say enough good things about Rehab 2 Perform (Dr. Josh Funk & Dr. Zach Baker) & American Spine (Dr. Atif Malik)! I've been active my entire life and have had various aches, pains, and injuries due to my various athletic adventures. However, in January I was stopped in my tracks due to severe back pain. It was both debilitating and depressing. What I thought was severe muscle spasms turned out to be a disc herniation. However, the disc herniation didn't start overnight or happen because of one stupid move, it was years of not dealing with other nagging issues that resulted in the final straw snapping. Dr. Josh Funk with R2P was able to diagnose in one visit what my underlying issues were and develop a long term treatment plan to correct imbalance, mobility, form issues, and everyday bad habits that had been ignored for way too many years and lead to many issues, one of which was my back/disc. Dr. Atif Malik with American Spine was able to quickly diagnose and develop a treatment plan to address the disc herniation, which did not involve surgery. I started treatment with both places in February and after about 4 months I am now getting back to my normal lifestyle. American Spine was able to address the immediate disc issues and R2P gave me a long term path to correct my underlying issues, which is the key to staying healthy and active. Both American Spine and R2P worked with me to find solutions and ways I could continue modified exercise programs during treatment and encouraged me along the way, rather than "just stop moving". I put in a lot of hard work to correct issues but without the direction of both R2P and American Spine I'm positive I would still be in pain and not back to my normal. R2P has also successfully treated my son for nagging elbow issues and my husband is under their care post ACL surgery. My husband's recovery has been much faster and smoother than anticipated and I know R2P contributed to this success. For the last 15 years I've had relatively minor issues with my lower back. However, this past January was the worst pain I had ever been in. I was nervous that I had done irreparable damage to myself as it was the most debilitating pain I had ever experienced in my back. After coming to find out that I had degenerative disc with herniation, I (finally) started off in the world of PT. Luckily I found R2P. As more of a "weekend warrior" in the world of Crossfit and general fitness, Dr. Funk and Dr. Baker took my injury seriously and quickly determined a plan of action to help me get moving and back to enjoying fitness again. Their plan involved multiple methods of treatment including hands on work as well as practicing stretches, balance, drills, taking me through common movements one step at a time, and homework so that I could continue the process of healing and safely mastering the foundations at home. I highly recommend Dr. Josh Funk and the team at Rehab 2 Perform. We have used them for both Physical Therapy and Speed and Agility Training of a High School athlete, and results have been outstanding! Their innovative approached towards Physical Therapy works to speed up recovery and get an athlete back on the field as quick as possible. They have treated both of my boys for in-season injuries, and their downtime has been minimal. They understand how to evaluate and treat a sports injury for a quick and complete recovery. Please consider R2P for your rehab needs and ongoing support fitness. From the first call and quick assignment of a therapist and appointment I knew I was in the correct place. Matt (Mannick, DPT), my therapist consistently combined clinical skill with a calm encouraging manner. My concerns of being a 77y female who was minimally to moderately active were concerns of being treated as 'old' were immediately removed. The programs Matt designed were respectfully age-related still challenging strength, balance and endurance so I could safely continue doing the exercises at home. My presenting symptom ( sciatic pain) was treated swiftly allowing me to continue my activities without pain. And additionally he got my frequent sense of humor comments. I've had upper back/shoulder pain for years since being in the military. I had been trying to do everything I could with the VA but it was pointless. Dr. Funk heard my story and helped me tremendously. The pain that use to be a constant 7/10 has diminished to little or no pain at all. As an active person things happen and I have been going to R2P, as needed, since they opened. Mostly for tuneups. I usually see Dr Baker unless he's booked too far out, which has been rare. Fortunately it's the kind of place I feel comfortable seeing any of the therapists , I know they are all completely qualified. That's not something I could say about any other rehab I have been to and unfortunately I have had to go to a couple others in the past. The work we've done over the last 5 weeks has me feeling the best I have since October of last year. I'm walking and maneuvering with little to no pain. I had a great experience at rehab 2 perform. I was recovering from a sprain. My biggest concern was that I would be told to stop running. This was not at all the case. I was given multiple exercises to increase strength and stability right away. I had my first experience with dry needling and was very impressed with the depth of knowledge and training the doctors have. I was very surprised with how quickly I was back to running.
