Requirements to provide free music included hand sanitizing, half a physical, and fifty health questions. I left, no free music for them. They obviously didn't want music. I don't recommend anyone ever even consider wasting your time entertaining for this dump. Don't waste your time.

I have a relative living at this facility. Is it perfect? No, far from it. But we made 80+ phone…read morecalls and visited every facility that would take a Medicaid-pending resident and this was the best of the few available options. Let's face it: someone without money isn't going to waltz into a 5-star facility, and just has to hope for something adequate. At Northampton, care plan meetings happen every quarter and are informative, requests are followed up on, the Medicaid liaison is an absolute star, and we get a phone call if a fall, illness, or change in medication occurs. The front desk staff is friendly and excellent at screening visitors to keep them from spreading illnesses to residents (I can't believe someone complained about that!). When there was a covid outbreak, the facility moved ill patients to a covid wing to minimize spread and kept us informed very well. As for the resident experience: Overall the facility appears clean -- sometimes when we visit there is an odor if someone has had an accident, but that is the exception. The building is old and in need of some repairs, but the 2-people-per-room setup is better than another place I looked at that had 4-per-room. The dining/activity room is very nice and bright, and the staff decorates it for holidays. Meals are served on real plates in warmer containers and they are fine. There are activities offered, but of course not comparable to a more expensive facility; I wish there were more music and performances and pet therapy to engage the more passive residents. A lot of the hands-on care staff are terrific and very kind, and some could be friendlier and more responsive, but they all do a very difficult job and we are grateful. They know the residents and in my relative's case are understanding of their individual habits. Unless you can buy your way into somewhere great, living in a care facility in the U.S. is not going to be a picnic. If you are looking to place a loved one, you have to just do the best you can and choose from the available options (and hope Medicare/Medicaid don't get axed!).

I'm very conflicted writing this review, but here it is:…read more First, the good: Dr. Gwinn is an excellent surgeon. He is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable, and he immediately instilled confidence. Having this surgery was a major decision, and Dr. Gwinn put me at ease, and I believe I made the right decision choosing him for this procedure. I also have nothing but good things to say about his PA. If you choose MMI, you will likely receive quality medical care. Now, the bad: Quite literally, everything else. I have never experienced this much frustration dealing with a medical office staff. Communication is pretty much nonexistent, and when you do reach someone, most of the time they pass the buck, say your issue is not their department, and then blind-transfer you to a voicemail box. That voicemail will not be returned. You will have to call back over and over again, and even after explaining that your voicemail was never returned, you will simply be blind transferred to the same voicemail again, ad nauseam. This is true of scheduling, medical questions and concerns, administrative issues, etc. This is beyond frustrating, especially while recovering from major surgery and navigating other issues such as FMLA concerns. Also, if you need any forms filled out, they will nickel-and-dime you. Need a one-pager stating that you are medically fit to return to work after FMLA, that's $10, need another form, that's $10, even if you download it digitally. I'm not really concerned about the small fee, but it seems petty, especially considering I'm continuing to have and pay for follow-ups with the doctor. It's just another example of a top-down culture that seems to be anything but customer-focused. Again, I'm grateful for the quality medical care I've received from Dr. Gwinn. That being said, I think the way this practice is run is detracting from that care. As frustrating as the totality of my experience has been with MMI, it's unlikely I would recommend the practice to a friend, family member, or colleague.

I spoke to Medicare who confirmed that this claim was NOT his primary insurance. I also spoke with the workman's comp commission, who faxed them all of the pertinent information for him to be admitted. They still swore this was his primary insurer, which it is not! He was hit while driving a work truck and they awarded him a lifetime award for his knee injury, which is out of his control. The only way to have this removed is to have my father engage in a negotiation settlement. He is in the hospital and has been pending discharge for days! How can he engage in a settlement when he needs to help! 48 hours of efforts for them to tell me NO and for them to be unwilling to help- TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would not recommend Heritage Hall to care for an elderly relative. My father was there for a…read morecouple of months and it was a terrible experience. We had problems with both the staff and the administration. Most of the nurse assistants were very nice and helpful but they are overworked & short staffed and my father would often be neglected by them. I would have to go find someone to assist him in urinating, etc., and that often turned into an extensive search as often not a single staff member was in sight. I am a male and one of the nurse assistants, a black lady named Sarah, made sexual advances towards me on several occasions. She would grab me in a bear hug and rub her body up against mine and attempt to kiss me on the neck. The first time it happened, I just pushed her off me and thought she got the message. The second time it happened I complained to the Social Services Director, a lady named Maureen, and told her what had transpired and that I was offended by it. Maureen was very rude and actually made a joke about it and said that was how Sarah shows affection. Sarah continued to work there even after this. Also my Dad had given Sarah some peanut brittle for Christmas and after it was gone, she started bugging him for more. She was relentless to the point where he really became upset by her persistence. I also complained to Maureen about this but as in the other issue, she just brushed it aside. I had elected to do my father's laundry instead of having it done on site by their laundry service. My father's clothes started disappearing and to the point where we lost about a dozen articles of clothing. Apparently even though I had notified them I would be doing the laundry, his clothes were still being picked up, taken to their laundry area and then mysteriously disappearing. When my father finally left the facility and came home, I wrote Heritage Hall a short letter regarding his missing clothes & that I would like them back but they never responded. Plenty other facilities to choose over this one and I would certainly not recommend Heritage Hall.
