Extremely disappointing experience. The bus was dirty and clearly not maintained. What made things worse was the driver's behavior, completely unacceptable for me as a passenger. One guy returned to the bus just five minutes late after a break. The driver screamed, "Are you fucking idiot? Stupid!" in front of everyone. That level of aggression toward someone is beyond inappropriate. I understand delays can be frustrating, but no excuse justifies verbally abusing a passenger. We arrived 1 hour late at our destination. I guess it was that guy's fault who used extra 5 minutes at the break. read more

Booked an early 5:50 am bus while outside is peached black. received an email 6:07 am sat that catch the next bus Booked another one 6:50 am. the bus is on time but it is full. the driver told us to wait for the next one that is coming in 30 minutes, but cant guarantee the seat. I am 15 min through my journey and three strikes is concerning. The driver was rude in his communication twice and the bus was late. Hi, today I boarded a bus at Vienna/ Fairfax metro to NYC. It was suppose to leave at 7:30 and never left until 8:32. Over a hour late leaving because the bus driver doesn't know what he is doing. I was driving on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach, MD on 10/7/24 at 8:00am and had Go Bus #6723 behind me. The speed limit is 50 on this road. It is a one lane each way road. The road had quite a bit of traffic on it with all of the cars traveling the same rate of speed. This bus driver was driving so close to my bumper at times that I could not see his face through my mirrors. He was slowing down and then speeding up on top of me, swerving to the left and right as if wanting to go around me. When I could see him in my mirrors, he was very animated waving his arms and clearing yelling at me. After about 7 miles the road divided and he was able to go around me. I watched him immediately started tailing the next person in the same way. You're taking your life in your hands if you ride on one of these buses. read more

It is difficult to identify this bus because there is no logo that reads Go Bus. The seats towards the end of the bus were being held in place by seatbelts because they were damaged. There were holes on the top from where AC air was leaking. Finally water was dripping from the ceiling near the emergency hatch. It's better to add a little bit of money and choose a better bus service. read more

DO NOT TAKE THIS BUS. We got stuck on the highway for over an hour because the bus broke down and the drivers could not figure out how to meet. When the new bus came we couldn't even change seats to sit with the people we were traveling with. Good bus line if you want something cheap, have tons of time to waste, and have absolutely no friends or family. Worst travel experience to date :) read more

Awesome bus line - my fav way to get to NYC from now on. Leaving from Vienna is spectacular and takes only 4 hours. No hassles, clean bus, they offer water (I know that's a minor thing but still appreciated). Also, their app is a life saver because it shows the exact location of the bus stop - I was running late and would have missed it if not for that. If I could ask for one thing, it would be to have return busses from New York to leave later - your latest is at 5:30 and that's just too early if you are trying to get in and out the same day. I had to take an evening Megabus back that took a total of 7hrs+ (including getting in and out of dc via a $40 Uber). Would love it if you had a bus that would head back at 7-9pm. If I could give this service 0 stars, I would. I booked a round trip bus ride between Washington DC and Westampton, NJ. I am currently writing this review from the bus stop in NJ in 40 degree rainy weather. A bus was supposed to pick me up at 11:30 AM but no one showed up. I called them at 11:42 AM to check on the status of my bus and was put on hold for 10 minutes. The customer rep told me that the bus was scheduled to stop there but it did not and there is nothing they could do and that they couldn't re-route the bus. Now, here I am, in the middle of nowhere, freezing and all they have to tell me is that they will refund my $9 ride and book me on the next bus at 6 pm. Between now and 6 pm I have absolutely no where to go. For SIX HOURS. I was on the phone with customer service and did not hear one single apology from anyone until I pointed out how incredibly insensitive they were being. I cannot emphasize how UNSAFE I feel at this moment. Also very cold. This time it was an able bodied adult. It could have been a young girl traveling alone or an older person who doesn't know how to use uber and get to a different location. It could have been someone who couldn't afford to make different arrangements. Go buses really needs to train their drivers better and also their customer service representatives to make sure they know how to handle these situations which most definitely SHOULD NOT be happening. I would highly recommend NEVER using this service. The level of unprofessionalism is something I have never experienced and I hope no one else has to. read more

I ranked this 1 star because I can't rank it Zero. The bus drove right past us as we waited in the designated place. The driver didn't even look as we stood there with our luggage. When we called they said we must have been late or in the wrong place. We waiting passengers didn't even know each other and were standing at the precise place (waiting for an hour for the late bus), we had independently confirmed. The bus finally came after one and a half hour delay. We were waiting for the 3:45pm bus at Washington DC to NYC. We arrived at 3:30pm and wait inside the McDonald's (the pickup location). Not until 4:05pm the company sent out a short email notifying for its delay due to a flat tire. We called them to ask for the time they needed to fix it as we can spend our time to a museum nearby instead of waiting inside McDonalds endlessly, but the operator was rude and said the bus could show up any minute. I asked if I can call the driver and get to know what time the bus will pick us up, she refused without proper reason. There was no alternatives as 3:45pm was the last bus of the day. We had no choice but to wait. Until 4:50 they sent another email saying that the tire is finally fixed and back to service. At 5:00 they sent a short email of 10,000 points rewards to relevant customers (but what is it for? They didn't give details of how to apply these points) All the passengers were sick of waiting in McDonald's without an idea. At 5:15pm the bus finally showed up-- one and a half hours late! Reading other Yelp reviews, GoBuses had notorious records of drivers being late/change of drivers in the midway. What's wrong with this company and management? I believe it is not the first time GoBuses "had a flat tire" or so. These are the questions I want to ask GoBuses: 1. Buses should be pre-checked to make sure it is in good condition to drive passengers before every pick up time. Isn't it your responsibility to check the bus way before the pick up time (3:45pm)? You sent out the email notification 20 minutes after pick-up time, which makes passengers had no way to make alternative use of their precious time. 2. Once there is a flat tire, isn't there any spare tire in every bus? Even if not, You have to tell your passengers how you will fix it and give them estimation of time spent so that they know what to do in the mean time. 3. The emails you sent out were not organized to show your respect and regret. You did not write down the details of how to redeem the rewards, explain how you will fix the problems/prevent it from happening again and list the name and title of the sender. Your customer service operator, PR, management are as bad as your writing skills. Like what your operator said, "I am sorry", but I have to give negative reviews. read more

i never ever write reviews but I just have to express my hatred to this bus line. I took a bus from Vienna to NYC and the moment I stepped inside it was aweful. I could not even sit next to my mother and almost every seat was taken. I was sent to the back because there was no where else to sit and it smells absolutely rancid. I am two rows from the bathroom and I can smell every thing. There is barely any heating and my feet were frozen. And my must I add that the smell makes you want to rip your brains out. The engine is so loud I can't even listen to my music. no hate to the bus driver he was very nice but I recommend taking a plane because you get your moneys worth. I hardly if ever write reviews. However, with Go Buses, I'm compelled to, as you don't even get the bare bones service you pay for. Heading back from NYC to DC this weekend, the bus driver failed to drop me off at my purchased destination, Eastern Market, yet drove throughout the neighborhood. I was eventually able to get off with others at L'Enfant. Needless to say I was upset, as I now had to pay to get home a second time. I questioned the bus driver and he shrugged me off and stated that Eastern Market wasn't on his list. That was it. Either the driver wasn't paying attention or Go Buses failed to provide him with the appropriate information. Either way, I'm taking a competitor from now on. read more

Used go buses recently for a trip to New York. Everything was near perfect honestly. The bus was very clean and comfortable. They provide you one complimentary water Bottle. They came on time for the trip from DC to New York and vise versa. The bus driver and those working with/ on the bus were very kind and friendly. And we reached our destination before or at the estimated time of arrival. The pick up and drop of locations are easy to find and are in good touristy parts of the cities that you were most likely planning on visiting anyway. The only very slight draw back is on our first bus there was an unpleasant smell but it eventually went away. read more

Took it this weekend from NYC and ride was awesome. 4 hours on the dot, 30 minutes shorter than the estimated time. Free water. Seats aren't the most comfy, but the reclining feature helps. For their price being lower than competitors, I would 100% take them again. read more

I'm a New Yorker working out in DC so I typically make the trip back on Thurs/Fri afternoons nearly every single week. I started riding with Gobuses since I first came across it in mid-summer 2016 Pros: Price: Fair prices. If you book early enough, you can get it for 18$ one way. Quality: free water when boarding, clean buses Timeliness: depends on traffic. Sometimes the bus arrival into DC is delayed due to traffic from VA to DC. Understandable. Rush hour traffic is also something that cannot be helped. All in all, I thought they did a good job. Cons: Consistency. The trip, with reasonable traffic factored in, typically should not take more than 5-5.5hrs. Some drivers make it their mission to leave on time & do well on time. I love those guys lol. Some, they make 30 minute stops at the travel plazas along I95 to allow for their smoke break and allow a food & bathroom run for riders. While appreciated, I think time is valuable and that a break isn't necessary as riders often come onboard prepared. One trip trip took 6.5 hours after leaving DC at 2:45. This included the break. I also took another bus during the NorEaster March 2018 storm, left at 6pm (this was supposed to leave at 5:15 but came late)... got in at 4AM!!!! Not sure if the road was closed or something or the driver just wanted to avoid some traffic and tried a backroad (which was backed up for HOURS) but that was the worst trip of my life. To be fair, that was a one off case and I didn't know the state of the roads (though we had left I95N only to end up back on 95), but again - the problem here is consistency. Service is also a huge issue - I called in back in FEBRUARY 2018 for a refund on 3 tickets and to this day, September 2018 have yet to receive it. I called multiple times in March, April, and May to follow up only to get absolutely no direction other than "Ok I'll talk to the accounting people". On one occasion I asked for an email confirmation or some tracking number since the receptionist told me she saw a refund email come in relevant to my case and she said in the laziest tone... "I don't know if I can find that, that's my job I answer emails all day so I have a lot of emails" - for real? In today's day and age, I think everyone's job involves email. But again, no direction, no consistency. I've since given up on the refund - I never received it and I've stopped using this service almost entirely. The sad thing is that I used to recommend this service to fellow colleagues/friends traveling between DC and NY. I was such a frequent traveler that I was a PLATINUM member (they have a tiered frequent-traveler rewards concept, and Platinum was the top tier) and the quality has just been so inconsistent that I have abandoned it entirely. read more

Tacky and discombobulated! My 1st time riding with this companies fleet from DC to NYC and the Bus is over a hour late! ...AND STILL COUNTING while I stand at the bus stop roasting in the sun. After I made 16 back to back to back to back calls someone finally picked up the phone to say they don't know why the driver hasn't shown up. His GPS is off and she hasn't any other answers for me. Is this the twilight zone? Why me?! What kind of Mom & Pop shop mess they have going on at GOBus. Judging from the reviews this is typical business practice. Guess I should of did a yelp search first. You would think since the company constantly fumbles the ball, they would learn to call an audible in these familiar situations. I'm writing this review as we're sitting on the bus at Maryland House waiting for a driver to show up. The bus left NYC half an hour late because driver 1 was nowhere to be found. He finally arrived, and it was a smooth ride until he pulled over unexpectedly, got out of the bus and spent 15 minutes on the phone before letting us know that he couldn't drive the bus any longer and that driver 2, who apparently was supposed to meet him where we stopped, was running 40 minutes late. It will be much longer than that, judging by how long we have been waiting already. We are only 1.5 hours away from DC metro (our destination), and we are stranded in the middle of the night. This was my first time riding Go Bus. It will also be the last time. read more

I sent an email to their contact person on their website the day after my trip and asked for a response before I said I would go to social media. Unfortunately for them, they ignored my request. Our party of 4 people was attempting to get the bus in NY after a weekend trip. Unfortunately the traffic in NY was horrendous. We gave ourselves an hour to get to the bus but due to so many street closures we had to hop out of our cab and 'run' the last 4 blocks. I didn't make the crosswalk before the light turned and I had to wait for the traffic to die down and crosswalk to be available again. As I started to cross, I see my bus starting to pull away. They were going to leave me even though it was clear I was almost there and 3 of the people in my group were already there. Finally they let me on at 5:32 when the bus was scheduled to leave at 5:30. Immediately I knew there would be concerns when instead of merging into traffic right outside of the city, the bus driver barreled through a Service station to go around traffic at an alarming speed. Throughout the trip the driver wove in and out of all lanes as if he was driving a small sports car. Since I was sitting so close to the front of the bus I was able to see first hand how dangerous his driving was. At one point I started video recording the driving for proof of the erratic driving as well as clocking his speed that was averaging 70mph throughout the trip. (Pictures to prove it). In the tunnel he switched lanes on a solid white line after tailgating a car for 3/4 of the tunnel. As we merged onto 495 from 95 south, he crossed the solid white line to skip over 4 lanes to the fast lane, cutting everyone off behind him at a dangerous speed. Finally, as we were turning into the Vienna metro, he ran the red light to make an immediate right turn without slowing down. There was oncoming traffic that had to slam on their brakes to avoid a head on collision and he did not slow down around the traffic circles. We made it in less than 4 hours. While I can appreciate wanting a timely journey, the excessive speeds and erratic driving with a bus FULL of people is unacceptable. There needs to be more concern for people's safety by this driver. read more

My route was from Washington DC (L'Enfant plaza) to NYC (Manhattan). Checked in was easy, driver was punctual, and we all got a free cold bottled water. WiFi did not work, but I was okay with it. Used GO BUS to go back and forth to New York City for the weekend. Started at the Alexandria Virginia Metro location. I was a bit confused at first where to go, assuming the bus would stop in front of the station. Instead it starts off to the side. Bus was clean, driver very polite, and we left a couple minutes early. No assigned seats and there were only about 14 people on the bus. Free WiFi and a smooth ride to New York. The drop-off in New York is also at a very good location. It's a short walk to Penn Station so easy to get to. The bathroom on the bus is also clean, unlike traditional disgusting bus bathrooms. The only negative part of the experience was when I pulled down the cup holder which had been closed to reveal it was full of orange peel and huge wads of human hair. Very gross. If Go Bus would take a minute to clean those cup holders out between trips rider experience would be better. read more
