Horrible experience. Traveling to NYC from VA and the bus broke down in the middle lane of I95. The bus driver who spoke very poor English did not let us know what was going on and we sat for about 20 mins until she figured out how to get the bus moving off to the shoulder. A second bus arrived and that driver was not helpful with transferring our luggage to his bus, seeing that I had a boot on my broken ankle. Rude! Once we got to the second bus, the clients on the other bus complained that we were getting on. Our bus had a quiet aura that we adhered to the request. This bus was loud, with everyone speaking to one another, on their phones, etc. we paid for the gold bus experience and got a rotten metal experience. Coming home was better, as our driver kept us informed but the bathroom was disgusting with urine on the floor! Never will I ever travel with them in life! I love that they pickup in Rosslyn which saves VA people the trip downtown. On time, professional, reasonably priced. My only advice is that you arrive early if you are not traveling alone as seat pairs go fast. Lots of solo travelers that love to sit in the aisle seat and have their bag on the window seat, all while impressively refusing eye contact with you. Also good advice is to pee before you get on the bus. Only sanitizing gel and a bumpy ride await you. read more

For one of first times in my life, I betrayed Amtrak. Traveling to NYC with a friend, he suggested we give Vamoose a try. It has a convenient pick up/drop off outside of the Cosi in Rosslyn and is significantly cheaper than Amtrak so I figured we would give it a whirl. For starters, there are two 'tiers' of Vamoose, regular Vamoose and Vamoose Gold ($10 extra). For a fair assessment, we did Vamoose Gold on the way to NYC and regular Vamoose on the way home. The wild thing? Both of them actually leave right on time, much different than Amtrak! Vamoose Gold was very comfortable with 2-1 seating and padded, leather seats. Your extra $10 got you significantly more leg room, free water, and a copy of the NYT. Additionally, there was a special WiFi connection just for streaming movies. Regular Vamoose did have markedly less leg room but still had standard WiFi (that functioned, unlike Amtrak!). It was better than any MegaBus or BoltBus I had ever used. On both, the bathrooms were clean and functional and the staff was friendly. Depending on the route, your bus may stop in Bethesda on the way to NYC as well as on the way back to DC. Of course, the occupational hazard of taking a bus is that you are at the mercy of traffic. However, with Vamoose's consistent on time departures, they met the ETA on both of our trips. If I were to take Vamoose again, I would likely spring for the Vamoose Gold just because of the significantly more leg room, fewer passengers, and overall more comfortable ride. However, if traveling in a group or looking to save extra money, standard Vamoose fits the bill! read more

I have been riding with Vamoose for years... And I think they have a phone rep and new manager who are unclear as to how customer service works. Martin must be new, and I'm absolute appalled. If a 7:30 bus leaves before 7:30 (I was at the stop at exactly 7:30 on the clock, but there was no bus about to pull away and no employees around whatsoever at 7:30). The bus LEFT before 7:30. I called and the woman told me they couldn't put me on the next bus. I've never ever spoken to this rep before, and I have never ever spoken to any rude reps until today... She said that I had to find the onsite staff... they had to call them because they were nowhere to be found. When the guy came back, I told him that they I've never had a bus leave before the departure time, let alone one that doesn't stick around to check off everyone. They always do a count, too. And he admitted that the bus left before 7:30. The manager said he'd have to charge me for the upgrade, and I told him that was poor customer service and that I had NEVER been charged for being put on the next available bus. AND particularly is this situation when THEY left before the departure time! He asked to speak to the rep, and then He said he wouldn't waive the fee and would charge me otherwise I couldn't get on the next bus. He said that the rep told him that they left on time... Only I know he didn't because I was standing right there and he didn't say anything. The other onsite employee arrived, and she placed me on the next bus saying there would be no charge. She asked me if I was on the phone with him, and I said "yes," but then saw that the phone was disconnected. The Manager had hung up on me. She said to "don't worry, go ahead and go get a bite to eat," and went back to her car. Thank you! This is the Vamoose customer service I know. Alicia, thank you for showing your office manager what is the right thing to do and how loyal customers are retained. Then the Manager called me back and said that I hung up on him. What a piece of work. I told him that she had put me on the next bus no questions asked, which was usually how things worked. I told him that that was how customer service worked. He asked to speak to the woman, but I told him that I didn't know who he was and if he was new, but that he shouldn't treat loyal customers in this manner. I can say that I have always had excellent customer service with the onsite teams and that I've never ever had phone reps that were rude. If you are their supervisor or own Vamoose, I recommend that you educate Martin and your phone rep on what Vamoose protocol and customer service is, or was. And, I recommend that you pay attention to your onsite team member, Alicia, who is an example of why your customers keep coming back. read more

After some terrible and traumatizing experiences with Bolt and Greyhound (don't even mention Megabus and the Chinatown buses), I decided to give Vamoose a try. I've taken a total of 3 rides with them so far. Positives: 1) Great customer service 2) I love the guys who manage the boarding process and handle the bags; always friendly and courteous 3) The drop-off and pick-up location is much more convenient than Bolt's and Megabus' which is all the way over by the West Side Highway. Cons: 1) Limited schedule 2) On all 3 of my rides, the drivers took strange routes out of DC and into DC. I have taken the Vamoose from Rosslyn a couple of times heading for NY. A co-worker recommended it to me. By far it is the best of all of the options out there. I have been on Greyhound and Mega bus but Vamoose is my favorite. I will do reviews on the others also. My first time I was nervous and uncertain about the pickup drop off but there are folks with the famous vamoose bright yellow jackets who stood out. The gold bus is my FAV! The other bus is just your standard bus. The buses to date have always left on time and everyone is polite. For the gold they provide you with a bottle of water and a copy of the NY Times at the Bethesda stop. I used this operator to commute from NYC to DC. I agreed to pay the relatively high fare because of the positive feedback this operator gets here and in other sites. What a disappointment! The ground staff was pushy; the bus was not clean; the worst - at some point mid-way the engine began making very loud noises. A few passengers began feeling very disconcerted. When I approached the driver with the problem he rudely dismissed me, even though the racket clearly called for a safety stop and inspection. In addition to this serious safety issue, the noise made over a third of the ride simply terrible. After this unpleasant experience, I contacted their customer service center and complained. Recently took the evening DC to NY bus on a Sunday with no stops, the septic tank in the bathroom had overflown onto the floor. The light only turns on once you're inside the bathroom with the door locked, only then do you realize that you're stepping in 2-inch deep septic water and sewage. That's not the worst part, I contacted Vamoose on Facebook because they don't have an email to get a refund with this photo, they ignored me at first and I messaged again. I got an email saying I was issued a credit of $40, I responded saying I don't plan on taking Vamoose again and to give me a refund because this is downright unsanitary and dangerous, they refused and now are not answering my emails. I'm currently looking for the adequate federal agency to report this health violation to. Avoid this company at all costs: unsanitary and horrible customer service. read more

I got to the Bethesda stop at 4:47 so I was on time to catch the 4:50 bus.....but apparently the 4:50 bus had already gone......called again to try to get the bus back and to find out why it left early. But again, no help. No need to bore you with the rest of the story but I sent the Vamoose people 3 emails to remind them of what happened. I have gotten no replies at all. Not only is it not right that the bus left early but totally disrespectful to not get a response. Take the Tripper bus. They would never leave early and they would never not respond. This is the most logical location for us to take the bus to NYC. If you are driving to the stop there are a couple of garages where you can park your car overnight. We opted to take the megabus and it was a wise decision. We were provided with bottled water and newspapers. The bus is also equipped with power outlets, free wifi access as well.The driver was professional and provided updates all throughout the trip. On the trip back we took the regular bus just for comparison. There were no free newspaper and water, There was still power outlets and wifi, the wifi however disconnected a lot bec it was slow and unstable. We never had that issue on the Megabus. The reasons it's better than air are: 1) Approximately double the leg room. 2) Ability to have a "row" all to yourself in the 2-1 seat configuration. Or if you choose a row with 2 seats, there's plenty of space between you and the next passenger, if you're anything like me and don't like having to touch strangers' legs and arms during flights. 3) No standing in long lines going through security check-ins. 4) It takes you straight to the heart of Manhattan, so you save time and money getting to the City. The best bus options from NYC to DC. The staff are friendly, the bus is clean and they are mostly on time. The bus drivers don't drive crazy like the Chinatown buses. The Arlington stop is in a nice area with a couple food options like Cosi right in front as well as a Starbucks, McDonalds, and Chipotle, if you want to bring food with you. Checking in and boarding is effortless, the other riders are respectable and you don't feel like a sausage crapped in a tin can. A little pricey than the other buses but it's worth it. Hello. My son and I took the Vamoose bus to NYC yesterday. It was a Gold level bus...while that was alright...the bus ride to NYC was super jerky...the driver would brake suddenly and often, jerking all passengers constantly. Horrible. On the way back-it was a lot worse. It was a 5:30pm bus from NYC. On the way back to to DC. the driver got lost! YES LOST! McCarthur Blvd. was closed-right outside Rossyln. The driver was clueless...could he not have asked some of us, residents in DC the way...apparently not-he proceeded to do the whole circuit of Mccarthur, again and again-then he found himself on canal rd. then he took the back-roads to route 29. This was quite shameful I thought...it took more than an hour between bethesda and rosslyn....we reached rosslyn at 11:20 with no apologies...with frantic customers...a girl whose mother was constantly calling her to make sure she was safe... I absolutely loved this travel experience and will use it again. I cannot recommend it enough for people going from NoVA to NYC! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the wi-fi can get iffy or disconnect at times. I would give 4.5 if I could! The ride was speedy (all HOV), tolls are taken care of, and since it's mostly commuters the bus is full of people working quietly. You can work, watch movies, sleep, etc. and be in The Big Apple before you know it. Drop-off is at a convenient, mid-town location and it was simple to get an Uber to my hotel. I took the Gold bus, and the drivers gave out water bottles and copies of the New York Post. There are only 34 seats on the Gold bus, so it is roomy and relaxing - similar to the train and better than flying. The price made it less than/equivalent to driving because of tolls and cost of parking for one night in the city. Plus, you can take the Metro right to Rosslyn and grab the bus just outside the station if you need to commute from somewhere west (like Vienna). read more

Check in was nice and the staff was polite, including the bus driver. There are plugs on every row of seats so you can plug your devices and charge them while you waste time on Facebook. WIFI! They have free wifi on the damn bus! Luggage handlers in NYC were kind to the luggage. Oh, and one more thing. The Rosslyn stop of the Vamoose bus is right next to the Rosslyn stop of the Metro. Can't beat that. Also, they have a First Class bus called Vamoose Gold, I think. That you have to check out. The only way to travel to New York!!! I have taken Mega bus and the Chinatown bus, both because at the time, they were cheaper alternatives to Vamoose. It wasn't until recently that I re-discovered Vamoose again, somehow I had completely forgotten about them!!! So what's great about Vamoose? There are outlets for every seat, and wifi. I have encountered only polite staff, which is a refreshing relief in comparison to Mega Bus. Life is too short to deal with rude, and negative people! The bus is really clean, and the seats are leather! The bathrooms have toilet paper (unlike the Chinatown bus) and, if you HAVE TO use the bathroom, because you're going to die, and can't hold it any longer, it's actually not bad at all, just hold your breath and pop a squat. The 2 times I have booked with Vamoose I paid $54 dollars round trip. I would suggest getting there at least 15-30 minutes before your departure so you can line up your luggage, and get to pick a good seat! They leave on time, sometimes even a few minutes early if everyone is already on board. The website is easy to use. If you need to change your trip, just simply log-in and edit your trip, and they have a great rewards program. A free trip after spending $120, which translates to 120 points and there are no blackout dates. The points never expire!! If for some reason you have to call customer service, they are super polite and helpful. IN CONCLUSION..... I am NEVER going back to any other bus company!!!! I would have to be heavily sedated or under a delusional state of mind to knowingly step foot onto a mega bus or chinatown bus. Vamoose is a serious gem, so glad that this company exists. Vamoose is still my go-to bus company for travel to NY. My previous review still stands, but I thought I would write an update. 1. Reasonable pricing. Yes, they are more expensive. However, if you book in advance, then typically the price is about $25. If you are planning a spur of the moment trip, then the prices are comparable with other bus companies. Even Megabus can charge $27-29 one-way for last minute trips. You still earn points toward a free bus ticket. This is one of the reasons why I use them instead of TripperBus, their competitor across the street. Tripper used to offer a free ticket after you purchase 4 tickets, but now you have to buy 6 tickets to get a free one. 2. Pick up in Rosslyn by Cosi is convenient and saves time as I live in Falls Church. Yes, the bus trip is 4 or 4.5 hours from VA. You can pick a "skips Bethesda" bus to shave 30 minutes off your trip. There are more options from Union Station, but keep in mind that if you live in NoVA, you need to factor about an hour commute time to Union Station, plus metro fare. Unless I bought one of those super saver $45 Amtrak tickets or found a Megabus or BoltBus ticket for under $15, it's not worth it for me. Megabus quotes its trip as 4 hours and 50 minutes in length, so it's near 6 hours of travel time including Metro. For Amtrak, I usually leave a 75 minute window to allow for transfers and delays. The stop in NY is near Penn Station, and is more convenient than other bus companies. We can line up down a side street without being in people's way. Tripper's is by Macy's, which is also convenient, but there are so many people in that vicinity and there is no comfortable place to wait for the bus if you arrive early. Third place goes to Megabus and fourth place goes to Bolt Bus, which is the furthest out at 33rd & 11th/12th. 3. First to arrive, first to board. They have your name on a list and check you off the list as you board. No need to print out a boarding pass. Buses always leave on time. They generally don't stop for a bathroom break, especially on the return trip to VA. Pro-tip: Arrive early to get your choice of seats, but also the flexibility to test out your electrical socket. They are located below the seats in the middle. The free wifi is not a deal breaker for me as I'm not streaming movies and find I'm not using that much data. Pro-tip 2: Sometimes there's a Groupon (this is a rare occasion). The window to redeem the deal is very short--I just purchased 2 and need to redeem them by early May. read more

I take the bus to DC pretty often, and at this point, I've had enough experiences to be able to distinguish a regular terrible bus ride from an exceptionally terrible bus ride. For me, regular terrible means all the things I hate about riding the bus, but nothing that is the bus company's direct fault. Let's be honest' the bus isn't ever pleasant...there isn't enough leg room, and someone always eats something that doesn't smell good. Your seat mate always uses your arm rest, and someone always, without fail, misses their stop and freaks out. 5 hours in a confined space with a bunch of strangers isn't anyone's cup of tea! Luckily for me, Vamoose was just regular terrible, which given the choice, I would do again. PROS: 1. The bus was clean when I got on and didn't smell (already better than my MegaBus experiences) 2. I love the location where they drop off/pick up. 7th Ave is waaaay easier to get to than 11th! 3. The employees who assist with boarding and taking baggage are super nice and move quickly. I like that they know that you want to get moving and get on the bus quickly. 4. They can look up your reservation with just your name (they have iPads) so you don't need to worry about printing a boarding pass. 5. I made a change to my reservation the day of my trip (decided to leave NY 2 hours earlier for my trip) and they didn't charge me anything. That's a nice perk. CONS: 1. I have no idea what way we came home, but it took FOREVER and way longer than it took to get there. 2. They say they have free WiFi, but it's the WORST WiFi ever and so slow. I meant to work on the bus to DC, but I couldn't even refresh my e-mail. Not the end of the world for me, but I definitely panicked for 2 hours because I told my boss I was reachable and I definitely was not. 3. There were no outlets to charge devices on the bus home, which was weird considering they said all their buses had power outlets. I hate getting on the subway with a dead cell phone, so I wasn't pleased about that at all. 4. On the way home, they made no announcements about how long the trip was meant to take, or what time we might arrive in NY - they did on the way to DC, so I found those inconsistencies weird. All in all, this was a positive experience. I would use Vamoose again. EDIT: I just remembered - one thing I really like about Bolt Bus is that they make a stop in Maryland (I think) to take a bathroom break. It adds a little extra to the trip, but I got to a point where I REALLY wanted to stand up and stretch my legs for a few minutes. Both times, my seat mate was fast asleep and I am not enough of a jerk to make someone wake up so I can stand for a minute and sit back down. I think a pit stop would be a good addition! read more

I had a wonderful experience using Vamoose bus, and will definitely be a return customer. Having used all of the similar bus services, none have such calm and professional staff. Most recently I showed up for my reservation so puzzled why my name wasn't on the list. I pulled up the confirmation email to show the gentleman and to my embarrassment, I was actually an hour late for my bus-- totally my mistake. He calmly explained it was no problem, asked me to step aside and wait, and before I knew it, they had me on that bus. It is this professionalism and pleasant attitude where they took an unpleasant situation and made it better that will make me come back again and again. I took Vamoose Gold up to NYC, and took the normal Vamoose bus back to Arlington. I typically try to take Amtrak, but I wanted to save some money. TIP: purchase at least 2 weeks in advance and you might get a deal! Day of gold and regular was $75 and $40... When I purchased I got it for $60 and $20. Gold: Personally, I think it's worth the money. We ended up with a Georgetown Hoyas bus, but it was still the same concept (2 seats on one side, 1 on the other, folding trays, etc). The seats were nice and comfortable and have plenty of width, as well as leg room (for those "big and tall" folk). Most people boarded in Arlington and we were completely full when we picked up in Bethesda. Everyone was offered water and newspapers, a nice touch! My only complaint would be a strange urine like smell. But judging from the fact that I was sitting in the front, it was probably just a smelly person, not the bus itself. Regular bus: It's a bus. Nothing special. I could be imagining things, but it seemed like there was less width and legroom than other buses (PeterPan, possibly megabus). However, it was not terribly crowded (I left NY at 10AM on a Sunday) and it was very clean! We stopped in Delaware, but stayed on time. My complaint is that there were NO outlets anywhere close to me in the back of the bus, the driver even checked! Overall, GREAT staff, in all 3 cities! The pick up and drop off locations can't be beat! Especially in NY, no one likes to deal with the penn station mess! I'll definitely book again, but probably gold only. read more

This is the only bus service I use going to and from New York City. My trips have always been super organized, leave on time, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Generally travel to and from New York takes 4-4.5 hours. Sometimes they make a pit stop, sometimes not. The pick-up location in New York is near Penn Station, is well marked, and the loading process is super easy, especially compared to the shitshow that is the Bolt, Megabus, etc. pickup location up the street. Life is too short to deal with that. They also have a great rewards program that you should definitely sign up for. read more

We had a great experience! We splurged and spent an extra $20/person for the Gold Vamoose bus. We totally don't regret it! The bus is nice and comfortable, the seats are great. Our bus was less than half full, which made for a nice quiet ride. The wifi worked as well as could be expected. Sometimes it was spotty, but I don't expect blazing fast speeds on a bus. Good enough to read emails. The bathroom is also what you'd expect- small. But it works and since they typically don't make a stop, it's helpful on the four hour ride. We thought the service was very nice and friendly. Everyone we encountered through Vamoose was excellent, especially Jeremiah. We also enjoyed how organized the line was compared to other bus services to NY. We also liked the pickup in Bethesda vs. DC or Baltimore. Makes a difference to us since we are coming from Frederick. We also liked how the pick up/drop off was covered, so you're not waiting in rain/snow/wind. That's huge on a chilly 31 degree morning. Can you guys make sure your buses are in the condition to make a 4-5 hour trip? I regularly take this bus to the city about twice a month round trip. The employees are great along with the pick up location in Arlington. However, I do wish that they would make sure that their buses did not break down in the middle of the highway or at a rest stop. I understand that it may be due to safety precautions (windshield wiper not working) but shouldn't they make sure that the bus is in good condition BEFORE they pick their customers up? I do not appreciate waiting 1-2 hours for another bus to come; the trip is long enough already. Yes, they offer a free ticket for a future ride, but I would rather not have my current trip delayed and feel anxious throughout my trip. Hopefully they are aware of this and will make efforts to prevent these types of situations from occurring again in the future. I would've given 5 stars but I do not appreciate multiple events where my trip was delayed due to the bus problems. Please be courteous to your customers who are paying a little more for your service than your competitors. read more

The things I wanted in my transportation experience - timeliness, a clean bus, a smooth ride, and no confusion as to where i needed to be to board. 1. Boarding - (from NY to VA) the pamphlet gave a location and sure enough, a vamoose sign at the exact location. 2. Timeliness - probably part luck bc there usually isn't traffic on a Sunday but we were scheduled to leave at 3 and we left at 3:01, which was great! 3. Clean bus (we took the gold bus) - worth it. A lot of space and the seats and treys were clean. 4. Smooth ride (again, prob helped we didn't have traffic issues) - bus driver was great and we got to rossyln in exactly 4 hours. Best part about the stop is that there are some good options, in case you get in around the time you usually eat lunch or dinner. For Vamoose Gold, our tickets were $50 each. Sometimes Amtrack has one ways for 50$. Amtrack is a better option if the price is the same, but you gotta get lucky to find a mid day train for $50/person. If the train doesn't work and you don't mind coughing up that money for the bus, do it! Great experience and if I'm taking the bus again, I'll definitely use Vamoose Gold! read more

I think this bus experience is pretty great. Trust me, I was reluctant. Overall, it's on time, the patrons don't smell and keep to themselves, and it's clean. Often, the seat next to me remains empty, so I can spread out a little. The price is great too - $30 each way, and there's usually a promo code online to save $3 each way. After only 3 trips, you earn enough points to get one way free! Sure, the wifi doesn't ever work, and some of the drivers are more aggressive than others, but these little annoyances don't compare to the horror stories that I've heard from users of the other DC to NYC bus lines. read more

Great bus liner. Friendly and respectful. You line your bags up outside of the Cosi restaurant or you could wait inside. Seats are first come first serve, the bus was clean. I took the regular bus to NYC from Rosslyn. We departed at 4:25pm and arrived in NYC around 9pm. The crew takes your bags out and puts them in for you. Only gripe, which has nothing to do with the bus company, is the guy chewing chips as if there was no tomorrow behind me !! I took the Vamoose Gold bus back. The bus departed on time at 3:30pm. You line up on the side of Bagel Maven cafe and wait in one of three lines that have number markers. You can also wait inside the cafe if you don't want to stand but again, seats are first come first serve.Quiet ride, plenty of room for my 6'4 stature. The seats reclined back where I could sleep peacefully. Quiet passengers. I will be sticking with Vamoose for my NYC travels. All of the staff were ready and available to answer questions with a smile and warm welcome. read more

I have taken this bus for a few round trips. There has never been wifi. This most recent trip the engine in the bus just stopped. The bus driver told us that this is not the first time this has happened. Some of the passengers were able to get on the buses traveling the same route as they came to our location, but it took hours for a new, empty bus to come. The company did not offer any kind of refund, voucher, or apology. The bus itself was small and cramped and the seats did not have a tray table. My experience with the staff has been positive, overall. There are so many other bus lines out there that I can't recommend one where the buses routinely break down. EDIT: They did send a voucher for a free ride on the next business day, so I have raised my rating. read more

Let me start by telling you why I try to avoid all forms of public transportation like the plague! I have the WORST MOTION SICKNESS ever which is why I am typically driving or always in the front passenger seat getting dirty stares from my friends who are taller than 4'10 and wonder why I always get the good seat... Jolly's parents generously invited us on a 7day cruise which took off from NYC and they are huge planners so had already bought everyone a bus ticket for the trip. I didn't want to be 'that girl' who would have to drive to NYC by myself just to avoid a puking disaster. I am happy to say that I survived the Vamoose! Both trips to and from NYC took exactly 4 hours and the drive was not as bumpy as I thought it would be. The bus departed on time too! I love that each seat had its own outlet, the bus had a bathroom for my tiny bladder, AND you can bring food/drink onto the bus! You better believe I brought the biggest bottle of ginger ale that I could find! Our bus going to NYC was pretty empty so each person could take over a row of 2 seats. woohoo! Unfortunately one incredibly annoying guy on the bus took the liberty of sprawling his legs across the bus aisle and fell asleep. Then he got annoyed at ME for my frequent bathroom trips....how rude. The Wifi didn't work for me so I wasn't able to catch up on my Netflix :/ Before the bus took off, one of the vamoose workers came on the bus to explain bus rules and he REAKED of cigarettes...which made me even more nauseous. I shouldn't have sat in the first row.... A-OK in my book! read more

Clean bus. Very nice seats, well worth paying the extra $ for the Gold Bus. You get a free bottle of water and a newspaper on the Gold Bus. Not really needed, but a nice touch. Seats are spacious and have power outlets. Seating is first-come first-serve, so get there early to snag one of the single aisle seats if you're traveling by yourself, or a seat together if you're traveling with another person. There is free wi-fi, which was as expected: a bit spotty but functional. They also offer free movie streaming on their app for the Gold Bus, but it was very spotty on my trip. In any case, this is a perk that is nice when it's there but not really needed. Would be nice if the wi-fi wasn't as spotty though. Driver is courteous and drives safely. Staff at "check-in" are also friendly and smiling. Most importantly, they left on time both in MD and on the return from NYC. read more

We were so happy to hear other guest rave about how great Vamoose is and was for them after trying so many other transportation modes to get to NYC. The bus is clean and the staff are friendly. I have to give a shout out to the staff in NYC office. My family of 4 missed my bus for the 2pm (I thought it was 2:30pm)! Martin the head guy was able to work out so that our family can go bk home together at the 6pm bus! The bus were sold out and we were on standby but it was nice that they were looming out for us and helped is thru a hectic day. We r totally recommending this bus to our friends and family! read more

More like 3.5 star Pros - Very well organized with 2-3 staff at the stops placing people in orderly lines and checking luggage and ppl in. Power outlet every seat. Clean bathroom and relatively comfy seats. Cons - Price: we paid $80 round trip per person from Rosalyn to Penn station. Wifi: too weak even to check email. Tip - Get there at least 30 min early if you want to sit with your friend. read more

It's OK. 3.5/5, add a star if the unique pickup/dropoff locations are convenient for you. I've used a lot of DC-NY bus companies, and Vamoose is comparable to the others. Much better than the bad ones, but no better than the standards. One of my buses had plugs for all seats, the other had plugs for about a third of them. The fact that they have non-Union Station pickup points can be awesome for the weekend tripper, though, depending on your workplace. Give them a look. read more
