Since I was a loyal customer, and my daughter still needed a lot of work behind the wheel, I asked if we could have a small discount on our next hourly session. To my surprise, they said no. I took my business elsewhere and within 3 hours my daughter finally understood how the traffic lights in Arizona typically flow and how to turn left on a flashing yellow. NControl isn't bad. But if you're wanting the best, this isn't it.

I loved Nikki in the office. She was my first impression to NControl and she is AWESOME! She was very informative and could relate to a new teenage driver being on the road. Nikki got my teenager enrolled and we were off and driving pretty quick. We were able to schedule our lessons ahead of time so long as my driver was doing his "homework" between lessons. The driving sessions are 2 hours long, which is (was) long for a teenager, but we built up to those with several 60-90 minute sessions at home. The skid pad day was fun as it actually rained for a little bit giving the drivers some wet conditions. All of the instructors were very patient and professional, but I have to say Chuck was the favorite as my son had him twice for lessons. If you are in the east valley and need a great driving school, NControl is a no brainer!

After three lessons the instructor did state my son needed some more in car driving practice prior to booking his last lesson / road test. After each lesson the instructor emails a report on what needs to be worked on before the next lesson. Both instructors my son had showed up on time and were personable and answered our questions. So easy having them pickup at my home. Pricing competitive to others, but priceless in my book. Driving with these men gave my son the confidence he needed behind the wheel. Totally recommend and we didn't have to stand in line at DMV.

My instructor in particular, Leona, did an amazing job with encouraging me and giving me tips on how to drive that have genuinely changed how I drive. Like, I was extremely uncomfortable trying to reverse anywhere, but after one lesson, I was able to reverse into a parking space more comfortably than when I tried going forward into one. Leona was also very social while also inputting when necessary, so I never had a point where I felt extremely stressed, lost, or even awkward. If you're thinking of going with Learn to Drive then I would say go for it, especially if you're able to drive with Leona!

I had a deeply disappointing experience with this driving school and would not recommend it…read more My instructor told me directly that I'm "not a bad driver," but that he personally wasn't going to pass me this time -- implying other instructors would have. His turn instructions during the test were sudden and confusing, which made it hard to execute them safely and smoothly. I was told I would get three practice/test attempts, but only two actually took place. The "third" session was conducted entirely on the freeway, with no instruction or guidance given at any point -- and the freeway isn't even part of the standard test route. During my last lesson, I noticed the instructor appeared to close his eyes for a few minutes at one point. I raised this with the school, and they said they would review the in-car recording, but I never heard back. The school then told me I could pass if I paid for one more $200 lesson. Given time constraints, I agreed -- but no one followed up with me afterward to schedule it. Based on everything above, my honest read is that the instructor was simply exhausted after back-to-back lessons that day and didn't want to make the trip to the DMV to file paperwork, so he found reasons to fail me -- or wanted an extra lesson fee out of it. Overall, a frustrating and unprofessional experience. I can't recommend this school.
