Excellent driving school! If you are lucky enough to get Samantha Mansfield as the instructor for your young driver then you know that you have won the lottery! Sam is amazingly diligent and precise in her teaching and also ensures the student gets as much learning and experience out of lessons. I've seen several young drivers who graduate from this program in comparison to other programs and I think this program does a better job! So appreciative for Stop and Go driving school and their drivers. Teaching my kids how to drive is my least favorite thing of parenting...so scary! The two stars are for Carter and Carter only. He was an incredible teacher and taught me many valuable techniques that I will definitely continue to use in my future as a driver. However, I had a VERY negative experience with a different instructor: MariAnn. She gave me awful advice. For one, she told me to NOT check my blind spots when changing lanes because it was, "dangerous" and to only use the front mirrors. She even criticized me for looking out of the back window when I was trying to back out instead of using the rearview mirror. She is also clearly not straightforward enough when trying to clarify things for students. When she was giving me directions to go back home, she wouldn't tell me I had missed a turn until it had already passed. She lacks CRITICAL communication skills. When I went back to Carter to resume my lessons with him, I gained many bad habits from driving with MariAnn that I had to waste my lesson with him trying to fix. I would NOT recommend this place unless you do all your lessons with Carter. read more

So the school got back to me I realized while talking to them my girls went to two different driving schools. This is the school my daughter was told Grand was a freeway. Anyway they are giving both my girls a free lesson that I appreciate so much and so do my girls. It takes special people to do this job with new drivers! My husband rode in the back of 2 drives and I went on the 3rd. She may be ready to go on her own on the next one! While you're a nervous wreck, these men and women keep their cool and teach things we as parents don't think about in such detail anymore. We've learned a lot by accompanying the drives as well if you're wanting to see how they teach and use some of their helpful ways on your own drives with your teen. They look out for things and relay information in such a way that your kid (and you) can learn and not be scared to get out there. Exactly What I Was Looking For My nephew needed some extra behind the wheel driving expeirence. So, I researched driving schools in the Phoenix area and came across "Stop and Go" Driving School. Stop and Go Driving School gives private, one-on-one driving lessons. They pick you up at your home, offer flexible hours, a variety of driving packages, and the instructors and staff are professional and knowledgeable. My nephews Driving Instructor was Robert, who was incredibly patient. After every lesson I could see that my nephew increased his driving skill and confidence. On my nephews last lesson he had the option to take the driving test with the instructor (Robert) which took a lot of the anxiety and intimidation out of the driving test To anyone that is apprehensive of teaching your child how to drive, chose "Stop and Go" and ask for Robert, you will be glad you did. read more

Excellent product start to finish. My son is the first one to drive out of my kids and I had a lot of trepidation about him driving. The instructors, particularly Samm, who we had on 3 occasions, was thorough, tough and really invested in helping him drive safely. They told us what to practice between lessons and by the time the final lesson was concluded my son felt ready for his license and passed easily. I have already recommended this driving school to a few other friends with children who need their permit/license. What a great service this company provides. My son went through their classroom training for new drivers and 10 hours of behind-the-wheel training. It was easy to schedule the driving training and the instructor comes to your house or school to pick up and bring home your new driver. My son just completed his sessions with Stop and Go. In regards to the school, they were great. We went with the "Gold Package". We received everything advertised in the package with no issues. Scheduling sessions was easy, and they were great at sending reminders (via email and text). At the end, we received the certification of completion and my son has his license. The instructor (we had Tim for all four sessions) was excellent! He was on time to every session, was polite and professional, gave good driving tips, and answered all of our questions while explaining every step of the process. GREAT SCHOOL, GREAT TEACHER, GREAT PEOPLE! My wife had her drivers licence in Bangkok Thailand for 8 years before she moved here to the UNITED States and I am proud to say she never had an accident with another driver. I won't even try driving in Bangkok Thailand. There are NO RULES when it comes to the road. Nobody signals, people cut each other off, thousands of motor-scooters like locusts flit around city traffic.The biggest challenge people from Asia experience is driving on the other side of the road. I am totally confident with my wife driving in Thailand but I was always a bit apprehensive to climb into the passenger seat with her driving in the United States so I signed her up for a course to enhance her driving skills and bring her up to USA standards. I hunted for 2 days researching Arizona Driving Schools and found STOP AND GO DRIVING SCHOOL of MESA, ARIZONA. They not only had a great rating but they also offer it to ESL people which is an added plus since my wife is not 100% fluent in English. Joe and Jan run a tight ship. They both have careers as teachers, so teaching at a driving school is second nature. My wife had a great time with her teacher as you can see in the video. Her teacher was patient and positive. My wife will continue with STOP AND GO for the full 6 hours. I highly recommend them!!! Michelle and Robert were wonderful instructors. They gave clear instructions and clearly elucidated on the driving objectives for the day. I had to address a concern about a particular instructor and spoke to Deb, a manager. She was very receptive to my concerns. Hopefully, this gets addressed for future customers. I was kinda late on getting my permit and driver's license, mostly because I just wouldn't be passing the permit. I was really nervous that I would be one of the older students that were there, but we never had to confess ages, and I could see some people around my age which made me feel like I wasn't alone. The moment we started class, however, the teacher, Hector, really helped everyone out. He made us do practice quizzes that were SO similar to the DMV, and it helped everyone in the class so much. We did a mock Jeopardy before everyone was on their way to go to get their permit, but I personally wanted to wait (and ended up being the only student) until I was done with the Jeopardy since I was just wanting extra help. Hector never seemed like he was annoyed with the fact that I wanted to stay a bit longer or that I was the only student left which was really nice because I felt nervous but he was really kind about it. He gave me one more test before I left to the DMV, and I passed! Now I'm taking driving classes with Sherry, and she's so nice, really helping me drive and gives me things to improve on. From the first time I met her, we just clicked which was one of the best feelings. I used to be so scared of driving, and as I got older, I knew I had to really start driving, so now that I am, I feel more confident and happy I decided to go with this school. If it weren't for Stop and Go, I don't think I'd ever be on the road. I'm 19 myself and I've been terrified of driving, and I finally swallowed the fear and decided to go. Kayla the driving instructor was really nice helpful... I have a reading comprehension problem and I found out that she can help even with me getting my permit just to start off and once I get my permit I can go back and get the driving part done. She helped me through every step of the way. I took the class and did not pass my permit test and then she told me all about the online tests I can take over and over and over again until I feel confident on the test and I did that and then I went into the mvd and took the test I passed by my 3rd time taking the test I only missed one question out of 30 questions .. thank you a bunch Kayla read more

I taught my son the basics of driving, but knew that he could use some professional guidance before he'd be ready to take his test. My neighbor recommended Stop and Go and I'm glad he did. He started with K, who was a nice instructor, but she was reluctant to take him into traffic which was frustrating - those situations were the ones that lead me to look at an actual driving school. After receiving more resistance to scheduling a time that would put my son in situations involving traffic, I called the school as I wanted to make sure my expectations weren't out of line. They agreed and had him switched to Roberto. He was phenomenal -- more mature, more experienced and he took my son into situations like downtown with parking and construction and one way streets, lots of freeway driving, and unlike the previous instructor who only offered a numbered score on the form I'd receive back every week, Roberto gave me written feedback about where my son's strengths were, and more importantly, what needed to be worked on. My son even noticed the difference, noting that the first instructor was chatty and nervous, whereas Roberto was calm and professional. The only thing I'd change is having Roberto from the start.
