Choosing a school to get my Class A CDL took some time. I spoke to a lot of people and looked at…read moreseveral options. The one thing that really stood out to me about CDL Trucking Inc. was that you pay about half the cost of many other schools, but you get true one-on-one training. It's just you and the trainer. That meant a lot to me. When I first heard about CDL Trucking Inc., I called and left a message. Shortly after, I received a call back from Mickey. You could literally hear the smile in her voice. She clearly loves her job, she's extremely knowledgeable, and she made me feel comfortable from the very first phone call. She even gave me her email in case I had questions because I was still about 4-5 months away from attending the school. Anytime I emailed her, I would get a reply within 5-10 minutes. If I told her I'd be on break at a certain time, she would actually call me then. That level of professionalism and communication meant a lot. After that experience alone, I decided CDL Trucking Inc. was the place for me. Looking back now, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. When I finally started school and met everyone in person, Mickey was exactly the same as she was on the phone--positive, hardworking, and always smiling. She handles a lot of responsibility, but she never lets it affect the way she treats people. For many students, she's the first person you interact with, and she sets the tone for the whole experience. I was assigned a trainer named Phil, and I can honestly say he is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I attended pre-trip class every morning at 7 AM for seven days, and the class runs about two hours. To be honest, by the third day I felt overwhelmed and started questioning whether I made the right decision. I remember talking to Mickey and she told me, "You can do this. You're only on day three. Stop doubting yourself." My trainer Phil also reminded me to stop being so hard on myself and trust the process. After that, I started staying later each day to practice. Pre-trip class was from 7 AM to 9 AM, my driving training was 9 AM to 11 AM, but I would stay all the way until the school closed just to keep practicing. During that time I met a gentleman named Berick. At first I didn't even know he was the owner. He took 30 minutes out of his schedule to answer my questions and gave me a system that made learning the pre-trip inspection much easier. The next day I tried the method he showed me, and it worked. There were days I went home feeling discouraged and doubting myself. But what stood out to me about CDL Trucking Inc. is that the staff doesn't just teach you--they encourage you and genuinely want to see you succeed. At the same time, they make you earn it. They are not just going to hand you a license because they like you. From start to finish, you have to work for it. On day six, I stayed late again and talked with Berick more. He shared stories from when he used to drive trucks himself, and that's when I realized he was the owner of the company. For someone in that position to take the time to invest in a stranger like me spoke volumes. By day seven, it was test day. I passed my pre-trip and I passed my parking. Unfortunately, I failed my road test because of lane control. I wasn't focused enough on checking my mirrors every eight seconds like I was trained to do. But what was remarkable is that nobody lost faith in me. They gave me another opportunity to take the road test. Today, March 10, I came back to the school. I trained again with Phil at 7 AM, and at 9:15 AM I took my road test again--and I passed. The road examiners know exactly what they're talking about. If you have questions, any staff member will give you a straight, honest answer. The best moment of the day was finally being able to ring the bell. It took me eight days to earn my CDL, and I will never forget this experience. Thank you to Mickey. Thank you to my trainer Phil. Thank you to Berick. Thank you to my examiner. And thank you to the rest of the staff who helped me believe in myself. If you are on the fence about where to go to get your Class A CDL, give CDL Trucking Inc. the opportunity. I had a great experience with DTI operating in Tucson. My evaluation was thoroughly explained to…read moreme, and along the way to qualifying for hand controls I found that every recommendation and description of the steps needed came true! For various reasons I had four different ride-a-long instructors and I found each very skilled in teaching an older adult how to learn new things, unlearn old things (and habits,) and improve almost every lesson. Cathy supervised the installation of the hand controls in my family vehicle and a check ride to make sure they, and I, worked properly. I am/was not a fast learner, but I greatly appreciated a lengthy counseling session at about the half-way mark in my lessons. This was all a part of the "you get what is paid for" with this company. the scheduler (who works in Tempe) did a wonderful job working around my availability since I could not drive myself to lessons or back home without help. I would not have renewed my license or been safe to ride with without the work of these fine people. The bill is paid, but I still owe them all a lot! Not that the recommendation of a 72.75 year old male with 10 years in Arizona matters, but you should check this firm out if you need driving instruction or adaptive training. (As of 9-9-2024)

We had a really good experience with Go and Drive recently with our son Landon. We're originally…read morefrom WA where driver's ed wasn't optional and you took it in school, so this was a new world to us booking it this way. Scheduling was easy and convenient, lots of different days and time slots to pick from. The different packages options are great for helping any level of experience driver and some include the actual road test and licensing appointment. It's one on one instruction, which I appreciated. I also liked that it was the same model car that he drove in all his sessions to help him be more comfortable. The two instructors we had, Sean and Brad, were communicative, friendly, patient, and encouraging. They really gave my son the big boost of confidence he needed for things like parking in parking lots. After every session, we had a little download about what went well, areas to work on, and how all the things related to the test. They practiced all different kinds of driving scenarios, driving defensively, the "unofficial rules of the road here in AZ" (driving here is just different, it really is) and not being distracted. Our son was able to pass on his first attempt with flying colors! Having the test and licensing appointment included was totally worth not having to make those separate trips to the DMV. We also got the driving course certificate for the auto insurance discount. I'm in the insurance business so trust me when I say, it helps a ton !! Teenagers being added to insurance comes with some hefty sticker shock. Will be using Go and Drive again when it's time for our other two kids to drive.

Basically this is a scam and a "drop off" after school program. In response to knight: When I spoke with Knight he stated "she actually did worse than her first score(assessment)" I'm not sure where those testing scores below came from but they are not accurate. According to Knight my daughter wasn't doing well. Is my daughter doing well or not? This place is a scam don't waste your money or time. My major concerns: *many occasions there were more than 5 students in a tutoring setting session * My daughter stated she was typically in a group doing her own homework or was sat on an iPad to do math problems. Basically her "touring" was when she had a question, someone walked over to her to "assist". *Group tutors are teenagers The communication within the origination is terrible. I dropped off my daughter for an amassment (at my request) and no one gave my daughter the assessment. I had to take time off work and drop her off another day to take the assessment. My 5th grader spent countless hours in "tutoring" group sessions which were never logged. They never fingerprinted my daughter so there is no record of her attendance. When I asked for an assessment I was told to wait. I knew in my gut she needs to be reassessed to see if the group setting was working. My daughter took her 2nd assessment upon my request to see where she is at with her math and she scored lower than her first assessment. So what this says is that the group setting did not work and I wasted time and money because she was never given any assessment to see if it was really working. You do not receive any updates of your child's progression. They do not work with teachers even if you give each party permission to speak to one another. I was given a learning plan but there were no real goals with deadlines just items to focus on. This is a total JOKE and a waste of time. I suggest not to allow your child to attend here.
