Now, before you go judging my speedy excursion through the desert, realize that any day now, your…read moreluck will run out and one of the several hundred cameras all over the Valley will finally catch you. Just when your guard is down; it snap your pretty picture and you'll have to pay up, too. In which case, I would recommend the Arizona Academy of Defensive Driving, if you're eligible. Here's why: 1. I honestly expected the sort of half-assed, poorly executed service that comes from companies that survive almost solely because of govmnt. entities (much the way govmnt. offices and services are run). This company had friendly customer service when I had questions about whether or not I was eligible, and spent a good amount of time on the phone with me while I figured out which location/time/date would work for me and still keep me in check with the deadline to complete the class, and even sent me an e-mail reminder the day before my class with info reminding me where it was and what I needed to bring. 2. Apparently there is an exception for Yuma courts that criminal speeding (below a certain mph number) is still eligible for driving school. I really thought this was going to be a nightmare to set up with multiple calls back and forth from a school to the court and possibly even faxed papers from the court to the school, but it was not at all with AZADD. I did in fact call a number of schools before finding AZADD and they seemed to be clueless about this exception - weird considering it's their livelihood to be up to speed on these things (no pun intended). Well, that was if they answered the phone at all! Too many had weird hours or just a recording to leave a message. Really? This does not help your credibility, people. 3. The facility was a decent place - a meeting room of the Comfort Inn and Sweets (ha ha, I'm leaving that because when I do stuff like that, I shake my head and go "I'm an editor?" Hey, at least I proofread!) in Scottsdale. In the past I've taken class in that trashy strip mall where Yucca resides and in an abandoned school off McClintock that was equally as run down. Not to mention, the class itself was $29. Though I paid $244 total, all but $29 went to city and state fees. 4. The instructor was not using his time in front of 60+ grumpy students as a springboard to his stand-up comedy career. To be honest, the instructor did crack a few jokes, but they were actually funny, particularly when he made fun of those inevitable students who have their endless "hypothesis" questions or want to argue why a law shouldn't be a law. It is, d-bag; get over it and let's move on. 5. The instructor knew his stuff. It was impressive, really. If you've ever been to a driving class, you know there are actually a lot of myths out there about what is legal and what is not legal and vice versa. He cleared all that up and even knew why a lot of the misperceptions existed in the first place - I can honestly say I learned a lot of *useful* information. 6. The instructor knew when to breeze through a topic (i.e. how to drive in the rain or basic common sense stuff) and when to spend more time discussing shit we actually care about (i.e. do I really have to pay that camera ticket?) Traffic school already sucks, so you might was well get a good company to help you through it!

Although you were ticketed for speeding, you ask a question about Marijuana use and if you can strap your toy poodle in the passenger seat while taking the HOV- exclaiming dogs are people too! My son Zack started a 7 session course on June 2nd, and got his license yesterday, 3 weeks later…read more Lewis was an absolutely phenomenal instructor. Zack said it was like learning from a friend. I was so impressed with how well he was doing after the first three sessions. He would drive and I wasn't afraid at all. (This is a huge difference from when I first let him behind the wheel!) Lewis and I were able to talk and he told me everything that Zack needed to work on. We put several hours in on the road between driving lessons to work on those things and I could see Zack's confidence increasing every day Only one session needed rescheduling due to Lewis not feeling well, but that wasn't an issue at all. The test was during the final session Monday night and due to the top notch instruction received, my son passed! We were able to go the DMV yesterday and get his license with no hoops to jump through! I am so happy with Arizona Driver Training Academy that I will use them again when my other son is ready to start his journey. I would highly recommend using this school available in Casa Grande as well as Mesa!

I called to sign up in the beginning of December, paid the $700.00 fee and was told an instructor…read morewould be calling me back to schedule. A week goes by and no one called, I called back and he said she would get in contact to schedule. I received a text on December 11 and the first appointment was a month away. The second appointment she cancelled 1.5 hours before the appointment and said it was too windy. I took video of the wind in case it was necessary and it was not too windy. I explained I work nights and it's hard when last minute cancels take place and asked if this happens often and she said no. Then after the second lesson she said it would be best if my daughter did 1 hour lessons instead of 2. I said ok because I am not a teacher and I don't know. Towards the end of her lessons I notice Chamille still doesn't know how to drive during my practices with her and explained that I think the 1 hour lessons was a mistake because by the time she gets use to it it's time to turn around and go home. She also hasn't been on 1 freeway or really any real streets with the exception of 1 time. So never taught parallel parking, never taught how to make a u turn and never been on a real freeway at this point. She agreed to do 2 2 hour lessons at the end to make this correct and I agreed. She then cancelled the first one and said she was sick, she then cancelled the second one and said she was still sick. When I text back that these lessons had been dragging on for 3 months she had the nerve to yell at me and say the next 2 dates for the lesson. She showed up and took Chamille on the freeway and just like I thought Chamille started finally learning how to drive. She showed up for her last appointment and they left. When they were almost 30 min late I wondered what happened, they show up and my daughter looked upset and she said she tested her during her lesson and she failed. I immediately was furious and said why would you test her without talking to me first to make sure she was ready?! She said she told Chamille, which Chamille said she thought it was a practice test and she didn't even know. This whole experience was absolutely horrendous and stressful and I can't see how this is legal or even ok to treat people this way. 3 months and she just now got on a freeway 1 day before her test?! I want at the very least my money back so I can hire a new driver to get this done with, an apology would be nice as well but I'll settle for a refund. All four of my children attended this school. I loved it. I gave it my all. That's why what I'm about to say is not easy, but it is necessary: DO NOT.... DO NOT WORK HERE. DO NOT send your children here. The school I once believed in is no longer a place I can stand behind. The leadership, particularly under Dr. Musser, and the ongoing revolving door of "Heads of School"--many of whom act more like puppets than leaders--have created an increasingly toxic and unstable environment. I honestly wish there was someway to hold them accountable for the many many good teachers, they have hurt. In just the past two months, there have already been two turnovers for the upcoming "Head of school". That level of inconsistency trickles down and deeply affects staff morale, student experience, and the integrity of the institution. Despite the red flags, I stayed for far longer than I should have because of the incredible students. But dedication to the kids can only carry you so far when leadership continuously undermines the core values of education. The teacher turnover rate speaks volumes. I urge anyone considering employment or enrollment here to do your homework: * Look into the school's compliance with charter school laws--especially regarding special education services. * Ask questions about teacher retention and leadership turnover. * Speak to former staff if possible. The stories are there, if you're willing to listen. I used to defend the school because of the hard-working teachers and my own emotional investment. But I can no longer look the other way. When bad things happen and no one is held accountable, silence becomes complicity. The environment has become not just dysfunctional--but harmful. Please look deeper. Don't be fooled by appearances... let me be clear. This is a wolf in sheep's clothing. This is not a healthy place for students or staff. The leadership is not just ineffective--it's dangerous.

At…read morefirst, everything seemed positive--the school environment felt safe, the uniform policy was well-implemented, and the principal, Mr. Davenport, was welcoming. However, things quickly went downhill. My daughter, a seventh grader, had a distressing experience with her Latin teacher, Ms. Moline, on just the second day of school. She was publicly criticized for not completing her homework and was reprimanded for her lack of organization. This was particularly upsetting because it was only her second day, and she had started several weeks late due to her acceptance date. Furthermore, she had no prior experience in sixth-grade Latin, which is a prerequisite for the class. There was no clear communication from the school or the teacher about how new students were expected to handle these assignments, and the instructions given were vague. When I met with Ms. Moline and Mr. Davenport to discuss these concerns, I was disappointed by the lack of resolution. Mr. Davenport seemed to excuse Ms. Moline's behavior rather than address it directly, and Ms. Moline herself was unsympathetic and unapologetic. Her demeanor was stern and unfriendly, which added to our discomfort, and it became apparent that many students share a similar view of her. I believe kindness and compassion are essential qualities for any educator. Additionally, my children were burdened with over three hours of homework each night, which disrupted a healthy school-life balance, especially given their extracurricular activities. I also noticed that the school's approach felt outdated; there was minimal use of technology, and their classical education model prioritized Latin--a language that is not widely used in the U.S. I would prefer my children learn Spanish, which is more practical and can fulfill high school or college language requirements. Ultimately, the lack of care and understanding of our concerns led us to conclude that Candeo Peoria was not the right fit for our family. We have returned to homeschooling through ASU Prep, which offers a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for college while also maintaining a healthy school-life balance. In conclusion, while Candeo Peoria has some positives, our experience did not meet our expectations, and we have found a better fit elsewhere.

April definitely got my Self-Reflection going, which is really what the whole program is supposed to be about.
