Choosing a school to get my Class A CDL took some time. I spoke to a lot of people and looked at several options. The one thing that really stood out to me about CDL Trucking Inc. was that you pay about half the cost of many other schools, but you get true one-on-one training. It's just you and the trainer. That meant a lot to me. When I first heard about CDL Trucking Inc., I called and left a message. Shortly after, I received a call back from Mickey. You could literally hear the smile in her voice. She clearly loves her job, she's extremely knowledgeable, and she made me feel comfortable from the very first phone call. She even gave me her email in case I had questions because I was still about 4-5 months away from attending the school. Anytime I emailed her, I would get a reply within 5-10 minutes. If I told her I'd be on break at a certain time, she would actually call me then. That level of professionalism and communication meant a lot. After that experience alone, I decided CDL Trucking Inc. was the place for me. Looking back now, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. When I finally started school and met everyone in person, Mickey was exactly the same as she was on the phone--positive, hardworking, and always smiling. She handles a lot of responsibility, but she never lets it affect the way she treats people. For many students, she's the first person you interact with, and she sets the tone for the whole experience. I was assigned a trainer named Phil, and I can honestly say he is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I attended pre-trip class every morning at 7 AM for seven days, and the class runs about two hours. To be honest, by the third day I felt overwhelmed and started questioning whether I made the right decision. I remember talking to Mickey and she told me, "You can do this. You're only on day three. Stop doubting yourself." My trainer Phil also reminded me to stop being so hard on myself and trust the process. After that, I started staying later each day to practice. Pre-trip class was from 7 AM to 9 AM, my driving training was 9 AM to 11 AM, but I would stay all the way until the school closed just to keep practicing. During that time I met a gentleman named Berick. At first I didn't even know he was the owner. He took 30 minutes out of his schedule to answer my questions and gave me a system that made learning the pre-trip inspection much easier. The next day I tried the method he showed me, and it worked. There were days I went home feeling discouraged and doubting myself. But what stood out to me about CDL Trucking Inc. is that the staff doesn't just teach you--they encourage you and genuinely want to see you succeed. At the same time, they make you earn it. They are not just going to hand you a license because they like you. From start to finish, you have to work for it. On day six, I stayed late again and talked with Berick more. He shared stories from when he used to drive trucks himself, and that's when I realized he was the owner of the company. For someone in that position to take the time to invest in a stranger like me spoke volumes. By day seven, it was test day. I passed my pre-trip and I passed my parking. Unfortunately, I failed my road test because of lane control. I wasn't focused enough on checking my mirrors every eight seconds like I was trained to do. But what was remarkable is that nobody lost faith in me. They gave me another opportunity to take the road test. Today, March 10, I came back to the school. I trained again with Phil at 7 AM, and at 9:15 AM I took my road test again--and I passed. The road examiners know exactly what they're talking about. If you have questions, any staff member will give you a straight, honest answer. The best moment of the day was finally being able to ring the bell. It took me eight days to earn my CDL, and I will never forget this experience. Thank you to Mickey. Thank you to my trainer Phil. Thank you to Berick. Thank you to my examiner. As an employee of the city of Glendale, I had to obtain a class A CDL, and was sent to this school to do so. I attended Pre-Trip class which was demonstrated by a handful of instructors who made test day feel like a breeze. I also attended a 2 hr backing maneuvers class which also went very well, and made test day that much easier doing the maneuvers. The staff were very helpful, and always willing to go out of their way to help you out with any questions or concerns you had. The only minor negative experience I had was that Pre Trip class started late sometimes, but given the scheduling of everyone showing up at one time I get that it can be overwhelming. Great place to get your CDL. Also great place to get it quick then going to other schools paying thousands of dollars. But if you don't know how to drive a manual make sure you practice a lot. This is not like a normal school where you take your time, cause time costs money and you will be spending a lot of money if you need more time. They teach you the pre trip and the 3 back up tests and the road test. Classes are usually early mornings. Before learning the pre trip and everything you must need to have your permit. They have some books to help you as well if u didn't get it yet. Also if you practice and take your test in a automatic truck you will be restricted and can't drive a manual. If you test in a manual you will not be restricted. But if your new to this and don't know anything. I suggest a different school. If you wanna learn like every thing. Pre-trip is done throughly and easy enough to memorize to pass. Once you pay for pre-trip you can go however many times you'd like. They teach pre-trip for all classes and transmissions. I completed my backing maneuvering training with an instructor named Hector. Hector was super helpful and easy to work with. He made sure I understood it what he was teaching. Hello! If you're reading this, you found the right place! Don't forget, you NEED your permit to attend this program. Read the ADOT manual. Focus on the chapters necessary for class A or B. Review the test your knowledge questions on each section. Go take the permit tests & take your permit to this program! So my father located this business & informed me of mixed opinions from randoms. I give this CDL training school a strong 5 stars! This review will be very detailed! This school has high foot traffic, but they staff manages things very well! I had to call the school several times, due to coordinating with class availability & my job. If not within the same day, the next morning Kayla would call me back & answer all my questions...she gave me the pricing, class dates available, and ultimately got me setup. Upon arrival at the school, you setup with Kayla again for your registration & payment...simple, quick process, before you start your classes. I opted for 2hrs of backing, pretrip class, and road test...they're 1 of the few schools that allow you to take either a 7 day course or you can pick & choose which courses (hourly) you need before testing! I strongly suggest taking their pretrip class no matter what! It's helpful to learn the verbiage & exactly what they're looking for from you during your pretrip inspection!!! I am a complete newbie at backing with a trailer...I was instructed by examier Lowell, super cool guy with a lot of patience & tips on how to do backing maneuvers. After 2hrs with him, I felt a lot more confident in testing the next day. If I'm not mistaken, I had examiner Scott for my test...he too is a super relaxed guy & doesn't make you feel like there's a gun to your head while testing (the school administers the test, not MVD/DMV). I decided to go down there myself, first time I went in she came out of the office to help. she was more interested in getting through her spiel than listening to my questions or answering them. she also felt the need to tell me about her family life and sticking her nasty granny titties in my face. went in one last time and a big bald guy was helping me. Her jello ass came out insisted she give me information and since he was midsentence he ignored her. She slammed the paperwork down in front of me made a derogatory remark and waddled back into the office. Completely unprofessiona, not sure if she'd be able to spell it. This was my second time coming to this school. Once several years back for my Class B so I decided to step it up to the Class A and this was my first and only choice again. When I first called to take the 7 Day Class A course I was told they were booked out for 8-10 weeks but Kayla put me on a call list if someone canceled. Its a busy school, but I received a called the following week so don't let that deter you and be ready to go. Received great instructions from my trainer Lowell who was patient and taught me what I needed to know to pass the skills and driving tests. When I first walked into the school I thought it was an amazing establishment. I was quickly corrected by the unprofessionalism from one employee in particular. My time in the school while being in Amanda presence was quite disturbing. An establishment should be built off teamwork and cohesion yet Amanda lacks both. She interrupts other coworkers and what's seems to be making her own rules as the quote "the owners will listen to me because they like me" was stated. I overheard her on multiple occasions talking about inappropriate things with other customers and bad mouthing employees to both employees and customers. The day I took my test Amanda ran out of the office stating that "Tammy is just being a bitch" which is highly inappropriate and unprofessional behavior to be held in the work place at any time. I greatly appreciate the services the school has provided for me but Amanda cannot be professional at any time or respect her peers. read more

If you're considering an inexpensive fast-track to commercial licensing, this is one of the top schools to attend, with available flex options to take training segments a la carte, or dive all the way in and attend their 7-day crash. But don't confuse fast-track with fast-breaks, because you do earn your own score here, period. The examiners are extremely fair but firm, and you need to understand the fundamentals BEFORE you schedule your final or they're going to stop the test and send you home for another day or offer you additional training. Simple as that. This is a well-paid, serious industry and they're not going to pass you until you demonstrate measurable proficiency the STATE is looking for. 99% of the negative reviews about this place are coming from those that probably thought this was a fly-by-night, illegitimated company that'll certify anyone, and didn't get what they expected to receive. So naturally, they'll beat up on the staff. Don't listen to it. I was a complete rookie having never touched a commercial motor vehicle in my life and they got me up to speed and passed all the nationals in four freaking days for under $650. Not typical, but it goes to show that: if you listen closely, follow their directions and then apply that knowledge, you too can be off the paper and have your hard card in just a few days. It is possible folks. Bottom line: YOU have to put in the work here and utilize the knowledge they give you, but they'll drop enough tools in your bag to nail the board down if the hammer fails. I had recently graduated from a Class A CDL program in Maryland. Unfortunately I failed my first skills test in I had failed my alley dock test in DC and was about to lose out on a job opportunity as I had limited time to retest in DC (no openings at DMV for another month). I had a friend who had previously done the school in Phoenix and recommended it to me as soon as he knew of the situation I was in. The difference between the staff/instruction between the institutions was night and day. Justus was able to accommodate my girlfriend and I in a pinch. The instruction we learned at the school (week long) was far superior to what we had received in Maryland (three week). Justus helped me out with my skills and I had them down in no time, his instruction helped me grasp all the concepts needed to be successful. In regards to my shifting methods and what I had learned in Maryland, I was very rough (missing/grinding gears). Michelle pulled me aside and broke it all down for me into the simplest of terms and everything clicked for me. My shifting was so poor when I arrived in Arizona I felt compelled to settle for an "automatic" restriction. I got my CDL a few days ago. The people are amazing here. They are very nice and will answer any questions you have. The front desk girl is very nice and was extremely informational. She was able to answer all my questions. I took my DMV paperwork in and the DMV didn't fill it out correctly so I had to go back to DMV to have them fix it. It was great that they took the time to review the paperwork. Richard did my driving test and pretip inspection. I was so nervous and he told me to relax and just go slow. It was nice to hear that. I got both my automatic only and finally my manual transmission class a cdls here. I also took the pre trip inspection class a few times and 4 hours of backing lessons. Ryan was my instructor for every class I took. His instruction and tips helped me to pass my exams. Don't sign up for the exam until you know the pre trip inside and out, can parallel park without thinking twice, and can drive a combo vehicle in heavy traffic safely. Only take the exam when you know you will pass. If you only think you'll pass, you probably won't. I'd recommend taking the pre trip class 10 times, taking 4-6 hours of backing classes, and 6-10 hours of shifting classes if you're starting from scratch and know nothing about driving a combo vehicle. Very good school. I registered for the 7 day class. Staff was very informative and showing up to pre-trip class for 4 days in a row helped a lot. Scott Campbell was my instructor and was very knowledgeable about driving habits and teaches you step by step on how to back up, parallel park and driving skills for the road. It's really strange how the vast majority of minorities ALL fail on their first pre trip inspection. I was there today and 4 blacks failed, but 4 whites passed, and they all used the exact same wording. I don't think it's about racism, I think it's all about money. The inspector gets paid off of these test so ,fail more people,get paid again when they re-test. I witnessed it myself and I also have audio from my pre trip, I recorded it because I was WARNED that "no matter how good you conduct it, they're going to fail you." (and they did). This place is a con. I've filed a complaint with the TPCC, ( third party costomer complaint) and I highly urge others to do the same if this happened to you.They need to be put out of business.
