A fine, surprisingly refreshing burger meal with friendly service in a small neighborhood setting. We were attracted by Yelp reviews and were pleased by the balanced verdant burgers. My $13.75 bacon egg burger had a 6 oz patty enveloped in melted cheese, two strips of crispy bacon, a perfectly fried egg with liquid gold yolk, and with fresh fix-ins like a red cabbage slaw, lettuce doused in "house sauce," and tomato, all in something like a Martin's potato bun (may have actually been Martin's). The $10.25 veggie burger had a pillowy texture but a nice flavor. Distinct peas were present. The $5.75 prickly pear lemonade was refreshing.

Im 5 feet 2 inches for reference. I have tiny hands. For $14/15 this burger was so small.

Waste of money. Burger looked as sad as it tasted. Soooooooo disappointed. I called to let them know my burger was missing ingredients and was ridiculously small for the price. I love the decor, the graphics and cool SpongeBob band drawn pictures up and around this tiny spot in park slope. The food choices were cool and I loved the rock star themed dishes that was neat. It was a weekday afternoon so crowd was thin which is good because it's only one dining table inside. I didn't wait long for my food which was served fresh and hot!! I also got a shake not pictured which was delicious I had to give four stars because after one bite the burger was literally falling apart in my hands which was messy!!! Nice spot to drop in if you live in the neighborhood

This is a nice local hole in the wall - good food, good vibes, and even sweeter service. The place is run by a sweet and accommodating lady who makes a really fking good simple fried chicken sandwich. Warm and soft buttered potato bun, perfectly fried and heated chicken, and a nice coleslaw, nothing else you want to ask for. Her service and care extends beyond the dish and she made me feel so at home. If you're looking for a comforting sandwich with comforting and awesome vibes, please come swing by. 4* for food, 5* for vibes.

Ordered delivery and it was so fast! I've been here several times over the years and the first time I went was phenomenal. Within the last year, it was ok but it's picking back up! The pulled pork burgers are my go tos, they're moist and savory and flavorful. The jalapeño poppers are soo crispy and done so perfectly. The layer of dough is not too thick and it has a good balance of cheese and Mac. The cole slaw is ok - on the underwhelming side but not bad. But nothing special about it. It's a good balance between the heavier things though. Overall, it's a good find for comfort food. I'm a big fan of their police box door, being a fan of the Doctor!

The decor in this joint is pretty great with its cool mural, and it's a good location. However, the vegan Impossible burger was pretty lackluster, and had to be ordered without cheese? Now that I look more closely at the menu I wonder if the "house sauce" was vegan. I asked the cashier what my vegan options were and she recommended this burger. Maybe it was vegan cheese and I should have left it on, or maybe the house sauce isn't vegan? Hard to tell. I should have asked more questions, because she was not offering up much info on her own. Tater Tots we solid though. The tables in the small dining area are not very functional with large gaps between the slats of wood. I had to be careful how I set down my drink and the ketchup bottle each time so it wouldn't tip over. The animal based burgers look pretty solid, but as a vegan I will skip it.

There are few things more delicious than fried chicken, in all shapes and forms, in all the ways it's permeated American comfort food. The buttermilk fried chicken burger from Gnarly Eats is a gift from the gods--tender and flavorful with the perfect combination of the house spicy mayo and pickled red cabbage and coleslaw to compliment the chicken. At first glance, the burger might seem small, but rest assured that this must've been a deliberate choice to protect customers' waist sizes... after all, it's more than filling (especially if you decide to get a side of their sweet potato fries!). Somehow, despite how many times I've had this sandwich, I've always managed to walk past Gnarly Eats on 7th Avenue. It's truly a hole-in-the-wall, though I can tell that the owner put thought into the decor (a TARDIS front door and Polaroids galore)? Modern Brooklyn at its finest. Open for delivery and takeout during the pandemic. Can't wait until I can eagerly scarf down their food in neighboring Prospect Park again.

Came to Gnarly Eats with a friend after hanging out on a Sunday evening. It was a tiny restaurant but very cozy! My friend was in the mood for a burger and after checking it out on Google Maps, the 4.4/5 rating was enough to convince us it was worth a try. I ordered their Impossible Burger, my friend had the Classic Burger and then we split hand cut French fries. The total came up to $32, which was a bit pricey for a casual burger spot but we were in Park Slope so I knew what that would be the situation. The vibes were nice though so it was worth the money. The food was also delicious. I pretty much inhaled my burger (according to my friend, lol). I loved the Polaroids on the wall as well as the chalk drawing of SpongeBob and Patrick around the room. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quick bite in the neighborhood. Thanks for having us, Gnarly Eats! I hope y'all offer us the opportunity to have our pic posted on the wall next time :)

I got to visit tonight after a random pick with my little ones. Even though o had to leave in a hurry, I enjoyed what I did get to experience. The fries and onions rings were a classic version. I appreciated the different condiment available for the customers to use. I didn't get to eat my burger but my god daughter did. And she said the burger was so good. So I'll take her word for it. I'll do an update after I get to eat my food. But for now I appreciate the freshness of the food that came out pretty fast. The decor was cute and quaint. My only negative thing I have to say is that they didn't have a bathroom. Which is why I had to leave early due to one of the children. Other than that it was kool. Hope to visit again and actually enjoy my food there.

Classic Burger and an Impossible burger with some fries

After all that Thanksgiving food I was in the mood for a burger. I'm not from Bk so my friend found this spot. It had good reviews so we popped in. The place is small but welcoming. They had really photos of past guests on the wall and a nice SpongeBob and Patrick drawing. Ordering was quick and easy. We sat down and devoured our food. The fries were perfect, well seasoned too. I would definitely go back and I recommend it to anyone looking for some good eats.

This is the best place I have ever been to. If you're around here definitely go. I got the Grateful Dead burger "gnarly burger" and it was cooked PERFECTLY. Medium well. Then we both got strawberry milkshakes and the kitchen sink fries with no spicy. And wow. Like wow. This was the best meal I have ever eaten.

Classic burger and beer battered onion rings

I've been hearing and reading great reviews about this place so I decided to give it try. Plus, I was craving a burger so... I ordered the classic burger and a side of beer battered onion rings to go. The classic burger consists of 6 oz. Angus beef patty with American cheese, caramelized onions, red leaf lettuce, tomato, pickled red cabbage and house sauce on a soft airy potato bun. FULL DISCLAIMER: I ordered there and waited for my food. The minute he gave me my food, I actually took the food out to set up a food shot. (don't judge me) I immediately felt the burger was wet and greasy. The onion rings were hot AF but super crispy. (Yes, I ate one and burn my mouth). Once I was done taking a few food pics, I packed everything up and walked a few blocks home. Once I got home to eat, the burger was a soggy mess. The onion rings were still crunchy and hot. Clearly, the burger does not travel well but to be fair it was already wet to begin with. Overall, the burger was ok despite the soggy mess. The meat itself needed a little more flavor or even a pinch of salt would do. The onion rings were meaty and delicious. This place definitely has potentials and has other menu items that are worth a try. I would give it a second chance... but maybe just not the burger.

Not an Impressive Fried Chicken Sandwich

This is a rounded up rating . Gnarly scores well on pricing , being a byob and portion size . Taste wise it is anything but almost perfect which is what it's rated on yelp. My review is based on their fried chicken sandwich and their Brisket sliders , both seemingly popular choices . The chicken sandwich - Massive pieces of lightly breaded chicken seasoned well but not quite as juicy as I'm used to . The chipotle sauce was an absolute mess dripping out the sandwich on every bite and did little to add any flavor to the sandwich.The bun was not toasted and again didn't help the sandwich . A thicker less watered down sauce ,juicier chicken and more slaw would have made this sandwich alot better. Overall I'd rate the sandwich 3.5/5. The Brisket slider was again generously portioned with heaping amounts of brisket in two good sized slider buns. The brisket was drenched in a too sweet somewhat honey ish sauce that was yuck ! The brisket itself was not melt in your mouth quality and took a lot of chewing to break down . A simpler sandwich with wonder bread and better brisket would have done the trick way better. Gnarly has a lot of potential but it's not a place I can say I'd surely visit again . I rounded up because the lady manning the restaurant was extremely kind and outgoing and made my meal a little more enjoyable than it should have been .

Small & quaint burger joint with a delicious burger! It was nice to sit outside & enjoy the great Spring weather- finally & enjoy this meal. The server also gave me a complimentary lemonade for waiting which wasn't long. Quality meat & really juicy! I wish I had a picture but true left my phone at home. I was a bit upset after hearing all the rave reviews about it, I was expecting something next level. I'm all about supporting local businesses in the area and I would like to keep my reviews very honest. My friend stated that he really enjoyed his burger, to the contrary I had the mushroom burger. I think the fact that the mushroom was fried takes away from the freshness and earthiness of the Portabella mushroom, it wasn't bad it was just oily. I think a simple portobello with a fresh cheese and aioli would be a great replacement for vegetarians. So I guess if you're judging simply based on the regular burgers they are A-OK but I would avoid the fried Portabella burger unless you really love fried food. The tater tot's are really good. It's a really cute place small and has a few seats available to sit inside, there is not a big seating area. It was cold inside because it was Cold out and people were opening the door into the place which meant we were getting a cold breeze which was annoying. Cash and credit excepted. The staff is very sweet and kind. I told the lady behind the counter that they should include a portobello mushroom burger that is not fried on their menu and she said maybe so I would hope they would include that in the new menu and I would go back and try it. Their menu is nice and simple. I just had better burgers, and I was expecting more. Lots of metered parking outside the restaurant. read more

I wrote a one star review a few months back as I felt I was treated poorly at gnarly eats. The owner kindly wrote back to me asking me to come give it another shot, so I did. I went in as a regular customer and didn't let the owner know that it was me because I wanted to pay for my food rather than have it on the house. I must say, I have changed my mind. The owner and his wife were working the day i went back. They were both super kind and he was talking to me about how his vision for the restaurant came to life, without knowing it was me who wrote the bad review. The food was very good. I ordered the chicken sandwich again and the loaded sink fries with the pear lemonade. Everything was so good, and I was happily stuffed afterwards. Ever since I've order four or five times. I'm happy I gave gnarly eats another shot. Just to be clear the first time the food was very good. The review was only due to customer service* read more

Beware: Burger will most definitely be smaller than it appears. While they tout the classic American burger as 6oz of delicious angus beef patty, it is in fact lucky if it is even 3 ounces. No Joke. Besides the false advertising, the burger and fries are actually quite good and if you aren't very hungry, it should be pretty satisfying. Though, once you factor in that this lil' burger and fries will run you about $20 with delivery, I find it very difficult to give them any more than 2 stars. It's unfortunate, because if only they didn't cut corners (or their burger literally in half), it really would be a 5-star joint. Sadly though, next time I will have to look elsewhere for my burger cravings. read more

So here's the thing, if you want a good burger and you want to take it home this is your place. The burger was cooked to perfection. Medium rare as requested. The salad was hearty and the pink lemonade a bit sweet. The fries were over fried but replaced right away. This is not a place where you judge the service nor decor. It simply sates your hunger satisfactorily. To the owner: The plastic fork for salads needs to be changed from it's dinky size to an adult one. ( But then again if you are taking your salad to go then use your own fork. ) The final point is this is a great take out place. read more

Came here by recommendation and I'm glad I did. A friend and I swung by in the afternoon for a quick bite. The place is small but in all the right ways, and the décor is awesome. I ordered the buttermilk chicken while my friend got the gnarly burger. Sides of poppers and fries completed our order. This place looks small but the salads are delicious and come in large portions. The burgers are also out of this world with their seasoning and flavor. The way all the toppings on the burger mix their flavors in your mouth is extraordinary! All the drinks are both delicious and refreshing. Even the fries stand out with their perfect and classic flavor made perfectly to crisp. And let's not forget the customer service, the food came in a matter of a few minutes and all the workers there are friendly and patient. Honestly can't imagine a better place to get a burger. read more

We just had the best experience here! The owners are really nice and super enthusiastic. It's definitely a much needed addition to the neighborhood. We ate there and ordered the Mighty wings, tater tots, buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, Gnarly burger, and dirty chai ice cream. Everything was fantastic but the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was amazing! The quality and flavor of everything was really good and prices are super reasonable. Small restaurant, but all of the food was fresh and service was great! We ordered the sweet potato fries and the corn dogs. Corn dogs were on the smaller side and we received two. We weren't super hungry so it worked well, but I'd definitely order a side with the corn dogs if you're hungry. read more

Such a cute little spot! I had the Mighty Wings and fries and they were delicious! It was around $11 for everything and I ate some and had leftovers! Seriously, get the Mighty Wings! They are kind of in a soy sauce and tangy but the breading is potato starch so they are crispy on the outside. I will definitely be back- so glad I live near this spot! read more

I'm going 1 star, and that's because the food is pretty good. I'm also going 1 star because as a business they have pretty questionable practices. They seem to exist as Gnarly Eats, Gnarly Eats 2, Gnarly Soup, Basic Salas, Bar Basico, and probably more. Each one open for business from the same address. Quit flooding all the apps. Just stop. It's horrible customer service and really annoying. This isn't a cool trick to game the system. It aggressively leaves me wanting to leave bad reviews and never order from you again. read more

The good news first. First time ordering - ordered the chicken sandwich and the portobello burger with a side of fries and onion rings. Both sandwiches were immensely tasty although the chicken was a little dry. The buns were a big hit. The fries seemed like they sat for a while but they had good flavor. We will probably order again. On the other hand there the order was almost 30 minutes late. We received an email stating the order was delivered but nobody arrived. Called the store and was told the delivery guy was still there. The food arrived within 15 minutes of the call which is surprising since they are in PS and we are in Kensington. Strangely the delivery guy bypassed the front door and then lightly knocked on the apartment door despite a nearby bell. Good thing I was nearby. If I were in the bedroom, I never would have heard him. But like I said, despite all that we will try them again. read more

I've been missing out this hidden spot in south park slope and just discovered it today. It's a little hideaway. This place makes some great food. I ordered gnarly eats burger, mighty wings, and beef brisket sandwich. All dishes had the perfection combination of fresh ingredients and flavors. The potato bun was so soft and airy, like clouds, but yet full of flavor. The serving size are decent, super reasonable price. Not to mention, the staffs are exceptional friendly. I will be back again and again. This is definitely a good spot to hang out. Recommend if in the area or nearby brooklyn or if you just want to be adventurous like me. read more

Live up to its 5 star reviews! The food is incredible especially their buttermilk chicken sandwich. So savory and cooked to perfection. But, what really makes this restaurant is the service. Incredible service, when David (the store owner) felt the sweet potato fries we ordered weren't up to standards(they were still delicious!) he insisted on giving us another order of fries. What service! Make sure to tip the team, they are all working incredibly hard. We will be back! Thank you! read more

Just GO HERE. Get literally anything. Come back. Do it again. This is one of my favorite places to eat and I'm barely in the area, but make sure to come at least once a week. Honestly, I don't even schedule it. I just get that craving and I go as soon as I can. This place is a GEM and the associates are incredibly nice. My favorite item is the Mighty Wings and I'm so guilty of going multiple days in a row just for that I love the Studio Ghibli accents and the cool neediness of the decor. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE Plate Presentation was pretty amazing. OTHERWISE, nothing else was enjoyable. We ordered the "The Grateful Dead" signature Burger which was... SLOPPY - literally fell apart and was all over the table and partially down my legs. FLAVORLESS - Where did you get this MEAT? The 99cent store? (NO SEASONING!!!!) Plus the bun WAY too small. CHEESE (was this from the Government?) soooo CHEAP it didn't even MELT! Also ordered the Milkshake which was literally just ice cream in a small cup for $6 read more

The pulled pork sliders here are hands-down the best pulled pork I've ever had in my life. First discovered this place months ago when I was walking along the block and returned today only to discover that the pulled pork was even better than I remembered - literally PACKED with flavor! Ordered the sliders and a chocolate milkshake to go, and everything was ready in just a few minutes. Worth noting, by the way, that only seconds after receiving my order, I managed to knock my to-go bag to the ground (in my usual clumsy fashion) so that it was completely upside down - to my utter shock, my milkshake and sandwich were still completely in tact when I turned the bag back over. Review based solely on delivery: I order from here frequently through Amazon Restaurants. We've ordered the classic burger, buttermilk fried chicken burger, mac and cheese jalapeno poppers, beef brisket, sweet potato fries, and the mighty wings. The classic burger and the fried chicken burger are my favorites. Although it's wasteful, they deconstruct and package every part of the burger separately. It makes a huge difference! Note, they attach a label that says their food is even better when it's not delivered. The mac and cheese jalapeno poppers and the beef brisket aren't my favorite. Although, both are good options, I prefer their burgers. I wish the jalapeno poppers had a bit of a kick; they're extremely mild. The beef brisket is okay, but very messy. The sweet potato fries are awesome! Although I've never had the mighty wings, my boyfriend prefers them over everything else. For nights when I don't feel like cooking, Gnarly Eats pulls through. My bf and I were looking for a place to eat burgers around the park slope area. Lucky for us- Gnarly Eats popped up! We decided to try it out. Parking was relatively easy on a Saturday around 1pm and we were able to get a seat to dine in. The restaurant is small and there are about 11-12 seats in a bar style seating. There is a lot of different hot sauce choices, as well as burgers for anyone and everyone. My bf and I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken burger, gnarly burger, hand cut fries, and onion rings. If you check in on yelp, you get a free drink (yay!). Lisa, took our order and she was super friendly! Thanks for being so welcoming and being patient as we ordered! She recommended the fries and told us they hand cut them and I was really glad that we took her advice. They were crispy and perfectly fried and seasoned. The buttermilk fried chicken burger is amazing!! I recommend it! The fried chicken is juicy and flavorful, and just everything from the pickled cabbage to the Cole slaw in the burger was a good mix. My bf had the gnarly burger and when it came out, the egg yolk was all over the burger and it made it look even MORE appetizing. My bf enjoyed it so much he devoured it in 5 minutes. The staff at Little Purity is fantastic. The owners are always welcoming and chat you up just the right amount to make you feel at home while not being intrusive. Whether it is an omelette with cheese and veggies or eggs over easy, I have enjoyed everything I've had here. I also really appreciate the option of having a small cup of oatmeal in place of home fries. Even better? Wouldn't really change anything, their timing was good and the menu has many good options. However the food was remarkably "ok". My waffle was good, not special but good, my over easy eggs had no seasoning and the table had no salt or pepper. My wife's tomato arugula avocado omelet was exceptionally bland and really more of a scrambled eggs with other stuff thrown in, and again no special anything and no salt and pepper. The "crispy" golden potatoes were in fact soggy, no seasoning, and more mush than crisp. Finally the service was a "D". The fourth request for half and half was finally successful, again the salt and pepper took forever, was promised more water which never materialized, the coffee warm up never came. In short, despite the positive menu the execution was two stars.

Unfortunately, the staff member serving me appeared extremely impatient throughout the process and even criticized me for not explaining my order clearly. I completely understand that there were customers waiting behind me and that the staff needs to keep the line moving. However, I believe every customer deserves to be treated with patience and respect. If I am spending over $120 on your products, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect five minutes of patience while I carefully choose my order. I truly love this bakery and will continue recommending it because the quality of the bread is exceptional. I only hope the customer service can better reflect the quality of the products. A little more patience and kindness would make the experience just as memorable as the bread itself.

There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

There are a lot of little burger stops popping up everywhere and to tell u the truth it's overwhelming and most of them seem over rated and that's why it was so refreshing to come across Gnarly Eat's Burger. This is the special little gems burger spot. They have a huge variety of different burgers and they focused on quality and small menu. Burgers aren't hard to make but to make an amazing burger is hard. They also have hit mighty wings that are great, actually the best that i ever had. The burgers themselves, i had buttermilk fried chicken burger, while my boyfriend had gnarly burger both are juicy and never over cooked. i meant the burger juice literally pop out of your mouth while you bite it down. They totally standout from so many competitors in the area. I suggest to stop in if you are in the area. I have not been disappointed yet and neither will you. Highly recommended. I just ordered from Gnarly Eats for the first time. I had read some reviews and as it is local to me i thought i would try it out. Whatever expectations i had were totally blown away. The delivery was extremely quick. I ordered the double gnarly burger with egg, onions and bacon as well as the jalepeno mac and cheese balls. To my surprise the burger came packed in separate containers to keep if from getting soggy. I thought that was ingenious. i started with the mac & cheese balls and they were amazing. Not greasy at all, fried perfectly and sent with a wonderful (i think sriracha aioli. Putting the burger together was a lot of fun. This was the first time i have ever order a medium rare burger to be delivered and actually received a medium rare burger. it was perfectly cooked. The eggs were perfectly runny. I can't say enough about this burger and this place. They are truly Gnarly eats and i do not use that word loosely. read more

Ok wow. Gnarly Eats is and I don't say this lightly the best burger joint I've had in NYC. For years it's been between BareBurger/MooBurger Joint. However. That was before last night. For you see, last night, my brother & I experienced the glory of Gnarly Eats. My taste buds were blown away. Profoundly juicy & perfectly portioned double cheeseburger with fries crispy to perfection. Gourmet flavor meets home-style simplicity. GNARLY EATS! is a place kinda gnarly small. Can't say it's easy to find a seat there when I went In, but the basic burger was a I stand hit with me. I really like the contrast between sweetness of the pickled cabbage and the juicy seared Angus beef. The onion rings were nice and fluffy. It's been a while since I had onion rings that were freshly battered. My wife had the buttermilk fried chicken burger. I never thought she would like dark meat but she engulfed the whole thing! I've been meaning to review this place ever since they opened. After having a good experiences I've decided that I need to share this burger joint as well. The owner of this restaurant kept all of the positive aspects built up and added a chill vibe with a laid back theme. The tables and chair made by reclaimed wood, the bar counter also made by reclaimed support beam wood. I love their concept of sustainability and recycled, reused the materials. The restaurant is surrounded by live plants and flowers, it is liked a indoor garden. Absolutely stunning and inviting. read more

You don't come across great burger in Brooklyn, NY I'm an easy girl. regular burger, flavorful potatoes, some buttered toast -- I'm so happy to pick this place after I saw it on yelp. My girl friend is actually a regular, usually for takeout, and told me about this place. See? she knows the way to my heart, I mean cravings. The interior decor has hints of blue and is pretty chic. This is the best local burger joint place in nyc. I came here yesterday because I saw the yelp reviews and I didn't regret to stand in the cold weather. I waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Sunday night, it was so cold outside but the restaurant inside was very cozy. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken burger, mighty wings, classic burger and of course our favorite lemonade. They were delicious. We will come back soon. Cheap eats, made to order burger! I missed this spot the last time I was NYC so I made sure I visit it this time and I can definitely say it's worth all the hype! I always ordered my favorite, burger with bleu cheese, bacon, and caramelized onion it can be a bit expensive but trust me the price is worth it! You may want to have yours in medium rare because having it well done completely eliminates the burger juice!!! No fun!! What you read about this place is all true! The first thing I noticed coming in was a sort of homey feeling and ambiance aided by the rough wood features and abundance of plants in the space with tons of chalkboard art. This is a solid burger spot, extremely affordable price at a fraction. Their menu was named after the popular rock band, i think it is super cool. You can't miss this spot if you are in the area. This is a hole in a wall spot, so look for the tardis door. YES, i meant "Doctor Who"'s tardis door at the entrance.
