I absolutely love Glen's! By far the best breakfast I've had on Long Island - a Babylon staple that doesn't disappoint. I've been countless times, but my most recent visit I sat at the counter and watched my breakfast being made! Everything is fresh and made to order (no stacks of bacon which I've seen numerous times elsewhere!). I ordered a short stack of traditional buttermilk pancakes ($5.25) and a side of sausage ($3). Both were so delicious - I love the way they cook their sausage; links sliced open-faced and cooked well done. My mom and sister both got the Traditional + bacon ($9) and loved it as well. read more

Great. A single word to sum up both times I went. A wonderful place to get a real old fashioned diner meal. The place is so awesome it's packed out open till close. that's the only problem, everyone knows it's ridiculously awesome! By far my favorite breakfast location on Long Island. The food here is fresh, authentic and the atmosphere is a step back in time to its humble beginnings. Favorite dish here is the banana-pecan French toast. Can get it as a stand-alone or as a platter with eggs and bacon etc. I usually split it with the wife along with another dish like the corned beef hash or the "Idaho" Plan ahead this is a cash only establishment, but well worth every penny! read more

Visit Date: May 10, 2014 I came here with hubby for breakfast on our monthiversary. They are awesome for breakfast. The diner itself is old fashioned looking but not in a cheesy time warp sort of a way it's more a classic cute old fashioned. I had the Idaho without the bacon. I thought it tasted pretty good but if you're a meat eater it probably taste much better with the bacon. The idaho is two eggs, toast and a ton of home fries with cheese, scallions and bacon. I couldn't finish it because it was HUGE so you could share it with someone or take it home. Hubby had some eggs and a waffle. His waffle looked so much better than the waffle I ate at the American Waffle House in Seaford. It looked like it was different levels of inviting, crispy, flaky waffle, it seemed there was good dimension to it but I didn't taste it. The coffee was pretty good too, approved by me! Hubby's verdict was that it was good too! We'll definitely be back again on occasion. One last thing I think this place should be featured on Diners, Drive-in's and dives, so Guy Fieri please come eat an Idaho! read more

I lived in Babylon Village and also had my office there as well. Yep, right on Main St., just "a hop, skip and a jump" from Glen's. So I got my "fix" almost every morning. Been going there since 1990. When Happy and Christina took over the helm, the great breakfasts got even better! We've been living in Florida for a number of years now and can honestly say, we LOVE Florida....but there's no Glen's here. Sure, there are some nice breakfast and lunch places that serve good food, but they all lack the great food and homey atmosphere...the "sense of neighborhood". Every year when we come back to Long Island to visit family and friends...Glen's is at the top of the list of places to visit when we're there! AND every time we stop in to eat, the food is better than ever! I gotta get a Glen's Dinette coffee mug, close my eyes, sip my coffee and imagine I'm at the counter at Glen's waiting for Christina to bring me a freshly baked raspberry scone (my favorite)....ahhh, "Life is Good!" read more

Glen's Dinnette is a local tradition that has gained legendary status. I haven't been in a while because I am rarely free on the mornings that would be easy to find parking in Babylon. With a Friday off, Jen S. and I went for a late breakfast. I believe they are cash only, so keep that in mind. We found parking with almost a full meter and headed inside. We were greeted and told we could sit wherever. We found a nice both and looked over the menu. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, which came with eggs ready to run over a bed of beans and a tortilla. It was great. If you are really hungry, everyone speaks highly of the Idaho. Glen's is a great place to hit up if you can. It's an old school breakfast spot. The staff was friendly, the price was reasonable, and the food was good. I would recommend it. read more

I would have breakfast at Glen's Dinette every day if I could. A traditional American diner located in Babylon, Glen's Dinette serves the most extensive and delicious breakfast menu I have ever seen. My friend said this place is always crowded, whether it be a weekday or weekend, and she was right! We dined here on a Monday morning and there was literally only one booth left. A few minutes' later, a line had also formed outside.  Back to the menu - it is HUGE and trust me, you will have a hard time choosing what to eat. I love pancakes, and really wanted to try some truly authentic ones, so I ordered a stack of their traditional buttermilk pancakes. You can also order buckwheat pancakes, blueberry pancakes, banana and blueberry pancakes, and even pumpkin pancakes. Wowzas! I also ordered an egg and sausages, plus my friend ordered waffles for us to share. It was literally the best breakfast I have ever eaten - the fluffiest pancakes and nothing like we have here, served with loads of real maple syrup and butter, and again, the best waffles, all washed down with a few cups of bottomless joe! A friend highly recommended this spot, so I decided to check it out. Ambiance was good upon arrival. The staff is friendly and provided great service. However, I can't say the same about the food. Perhaps I just didn't get a good choice. Food Crispy chicken sandwich combo 3/5 I love a good chicken sandwich on a brioche bun, but this didn't quite hit the spot for me. The chicken was small and bland. I think any fast food chain makes a better chicken sandwich.... Waffle combo 4/5 Light and fluffy, just how you want it with just enough sweetness. Eggs were cooked just right. Sausage was different as they were cut in half and left on the grill. This gives me an impression that they were already cooked and they cut them to ensure they would be hot and ready to be served. read more

Sidewalk outdoor seating was well taken advantage of on this beautiful day. Inside great placement of large plexi glass dividers between booths. They look so good owner Happi said, looks like they are gonna stay. More safety measures: great coffee in paper cups with lids, paper menus immediately discarded after read, all servers and staff in masks. Atmosphere all very comfortable. It's every bit of busy you'd imagine an eatery that looks like this to sound with people making breakfast by the ton at the back, the lovely waitstaff going in and out of the kitchen to serve the food out, people chatting about their day, etc. The photographs on the walls, the wallpaper, the lovely print on the tables, and of course, the original ceramic dishes- it's an all-around, A+ classic. Came here on a Monday at around 11:30am to get some type of breakfast brunch food. When passing this restaurant it always seems packed. We walked in and the place has a retro vibe though very small. We waited for a few minutes and then got seated at a booth. Looking over the breakfast menu and there was a lot to choose from. They seem to be known for their hash. My boyfriend ordered The Idaho which seemed to be a popular dish. I ordered the special which was farmers breakfast I think. The farmers breakfast was interesting. The sausage stuffing was tasty and the root vegetables were delicious. The portion was perfect for me but I still couldn't finish it all. My boyfriend thought The Idaho was just okay, he thought it was just too much potatoes. Just his opinion. I tried his dish and it wasn't anything too special to me! The service was quick and they accept cash only. It is a cute place to grab breakfast/brunch/lunch. If you are coming with a larger group I can see how it would be hard to accommodate. I have been coming here since as long as I can remember and I love this place. It's so simple and easy here. What I mean by that is they have great breakfast classics. You can't go wrong with a plain old cup of coffee and a plate of eggs, potatoes and toast. They don't add a special ingredient, it's not about making everything presentable here but everything is delicious. You can park on the street for a quarter in the meter or the parking lot across the street. It's cash only and there's sometimes a wait on the weekends but you're guaranteed to enjoy your food. read more

IHOP is dead to us! Saw the reviews on yelp and decided to stop in for breakfast. So glad we did. Lines are a little long but it's worth the wait. Such a quaint little place in the heart of Babylon. A hidden gem. My fiancé ordered the Idaho which seems to be a big hit. And rightfully so. The hash and eggs cooked to perfection. Seasoned and not overcooked. Our daughter had the smiley face pancake kids meal. She absolutely loved it. I went w a pancake combo and let me tell you the IHOP sugar hangover you feel for the day is nonexistent. The pancakes put them to shame. Light extremely tasty and not to filling. The eggs cooked perfect. The bacon was a little well for my liking but everything else outshines that. The Ruben seems to be another hit at glens and this family will not return to IHOP. Glens you have gained a family. If you're looking for something like home glens is the place to go! Pretty good, but not incredibly good. For starters, I could never figure out why a diner would be closed on a Sunday... So, I finally got to get in there on a Saturday morning. The place is hopping, but the wait was pretty short. The restaurant is set up like an old time diner with the requisite coca-cola signs on the wall and the old Hamilton Beech mixer behind the counter. The menu is pretty extensive both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. There were so many choices for breakfast that it was almost impossible to decide. I settled on a veggie omelet. As I had taken a seat at the counter I got to watch the cooks in action. Surprisingly, they scramble each egg order individually instead of ladling out eggs from a bucket as I've seen it done elsewhere. After all was said and done, the omelet was nothing spectacular - nothing better or worse than I could have made at home. I'll go back and give them another shot at lunch or dinner. Service was wonderful and the prices were extremely cheap for the amount of food you got. Parking is on the street at meters. read more

This is my GO-TO place for breakfast! Forget all the diners/IHOP's of Long Island, if you want a great breakfast then there is no better place than Glen's!! REAL Corned Beef Hash (not some canned crap), homemade hash browns and when I tell you about the Blue Monkey pancakes you will be at their door when they open tomorrow!! Blueberries and Bananas in PANCAKES OH MY!!!... Just a dream to eat!!! Wash it all down with a great thick chocolate milkshake and VOILA, the perfect hangover breakfast is served! They are only open until 3pm each day, so no dinner menu... Lunch menu is just as wonderful as the breakfast menu with fresh ground beef and not frozen patties for hamburgers... and that Thanksgiving on a Roll, or even a wrap is truly a mouth-watering experience! Can get crowded on the weekends, especially in great weather. Service has it's moments since they bring the food to you as it's ready so your whole table might not get their plates at the same time, but overall the service is fast and friendly! now who's joining me for breakfast tomorrow?! read more

Amazing experience! What a blast from the past! You really feel like you're in a diner from the 50s. I love their breakfast and often find myself going there on a weekend. It is small, but quaint. Very homey and inviting. It's a cash only soot so bring your wallet! I really enjoy the Idaho. It's a breakfast skillet with eggs, bacon, scallions, cheese in a skillet with breakfast potatoes. It's delicious! My bf always get their pancakes and they are probably the best I've ever had. No joke. Check this place out, but come early because they close at 1pm. read more

Despite living relatively nearby my whole life, I'd never been here before. I wish I'd come sooner, to say the least! I mean, brunch is my favorite meal. Anyway, I like the vibe of this place. And even though there's a lot of booth seating, I was easily able to roll my wheelchair up to one of the tables. I ordered the huevos rancheros - eggs scrambled instead of poached - and some sour cream on the side. It was one of the best versions of the dish I've had anywhere. Why is there always a long wait you ask? It is because Glen's is FRIKKEN AWESOME FOR BREAKFAST. What can I say? I have actually waited in pouring rain, walked from two blocks away in snow and ice because there was no parking and also totally overlooked the fact that they don't take cards which forces me to walk down to a bank and get cash because I never remember. You get a giant pass for so many things when you have consistently served so many years of really good food if you ask me. My favorite things are the "half hash and eggs" which is a half order of corned beef hash (which by the way is made from scratch daily and the best I have ever had) and also their french toast which is to die over I literally have to hold myself so I don't fall off my seat onto the floor on the first bite. Its that good. I have never tasted french toast so good but i DID figure out a secret ingredient which i will never tell----and besides even when I try to replicate it theirs is still magical.
