My husband and I did a major, major renovation of our home and I found all the tile and countertop slabs for the bathrooms, kitchen, balconies and bbq islands at Glendale Tile. My personal experience: I was referred to them by someone who is currently doing business with them. I approached the front desk, smiled, and said that I came referred from another customer and hopefully they could help me. Tatiana was incredibly helpful, happy, and kind. Not only was she pleasant, but was proactive in helping search the vendor, find my product, place a sample order; take me around the wonderful showroom to show me similar samples. They did not have a sample of my tile in stock, but no big deal. She place an order for it and I'll go back! The price I was quoted was incredibly reasonable and she also pointed out other similar products from other vendors that were more expensive. The other customer service rep also was extremely friendly, proactive, and seemingly interested in my project and needs. I also walked out with a recommended installer. I have read the other reviews and think: Why are you waiting for someone to come to you? I went directly to them and they were perfect! Why are you upset that prices vary from one store to another and expect rock bottom pricing with doing research? I've been all of the city and know the products and know what most things are worth; who has higher prices and who lower? Why are you upset that they don't have YOUR sample? Ask them to place an order with their vendor! I think, sometimes, that each experience has as much to do with your own behavior and your own misguided expectations. My contractor recommended this place. They have an amazing variety of designs & patterns. I bought backsplash stones here at a bargain price. More importantly they have great customer service. The store manager is really professional and knowledgable about the products. He helped me a lot about installing the backsplash for my kitchen by myself. Serge is amazing! I purchased a pre-fab countertop from Glendaletile at a great price. My installer picked it up and cut to fit. Unfortunately, the manufacturer had send Glendaletile the wrong color. My installer didn't know, so I didn't find out until they showed up at my house. The installer had done all his work and even installed most of it before the mistake was caught. When I informed Serge of the mistake he went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Although the manufacture had sent the wrong product, he gave me several choices to resolve the issue. I choose to get the correct counter and have the same installer put it in. The installer, understandably, was going to charge more money to do the work again. Serge had a long discussion with him and work it out so it wouldn't cost me any more money. Like I said amazing! I would recommend Glendaletile to everyone. read more

I walked in one day-middle of the day when it wasn't busy and not a SINGLE person in there acknowledged me, even after I wandered the entire beautiful showroom for 5 minutes! There were two interior decorators I overheard talking when they came in after me and were IMMEDIATELY greeted by a woman there, who looked at me. I couldn't believe it! We are re-doing a kitchen and I was primarily looking for countertops and tiles for back splash. It's a shame because I live in Glendale and like to support local businesses, but not when I'm treated like a poor piece of invisible trash when I walk into your store. It appears I'm not alone in my distaste for your lack of professionalism or customer service. Do not be fooled by their fancy looking showroom and product. Their selection was, without comparison, the best of all the tile & stone stores I had considered and the showroom is very impressive. I went there on a Friday, bought 25 tiles, was told by the sales person that I could return them since I had to head over to Daltile to pick them up. I went to Dal waited 15 minutes and then left. Come Monday I returned the tiles and was charged a 35% restocking fee. I later came to find that they even up-charged me on this since Dal charges 25%. Needless to say, a lot of hassle for nothing. I am a little bummed about this, because Glendale tile was the only place that had the particular stone that I liked, BUT because of the customer service my husband refused to let me buy from there. Back to the drawing board. The girl that helped was actually really nice, but the problem was that she didn't know how much things cost, and kept giving us what things "probably cost." that doesnt really work when you need an answer. She kept saying "we probably have that..." " that is probably $5 or $6 a sq foot. when you have to buy over 1000 Sq ft, there is a big difference between $5 or $6. They have what are probably more traditional styles, along with some more modern styles too but the organization is a little bit tough to figure out. Despite the showroom being completely empty, getting one of the two girls off their phones to help me was a monumental feat. I ordered one small quantity of tile which came in three days later than expected and had a CHIP in it. They had not even quality checked it. The guys in the grout area were awesome and has helpful as they could be. This however will not result in me ever returning to this store. I got tile from them about six years ago and forgot what a nightmare experience it was. Shame on me for giving them another chance. read more

The showroom is quite impressive, but the customer service is mediocre at best. We were looking for tile both for our kitchen and bathroom and found a tile for the kitchen backsplash that we were interested in ordering. We were told that it was available in a particular size (2x6) and were ready to have our contractor order it for us because he has an account with them. When I drove back to the showroom with our samples, I asked about timeframe (turnaround time) and Tatiana mentioned that it would be approximately 3 weeks but she needed to doublecheck and would get back to me. After several days, she did not call back with the information, and after emailing her with no response, I spoke with one of her co-workers who was very apologetic and informed me that the tile was only available in a 4x8 size which contradicted what we had been told by Tatiana in the first place. We have decided to go with another tile company, and this delayed our search by 2 weeks after all of this runaround. It's unfortunate because they seems to have a nice selection, but we will not be using Glendale Tile again. read more

I just went to Glendale Tile because we are doing some remodel work on out house. My husband has been there but he asked me to go my self after work to finalize the tile he had picked before the tile guy could start laying the tile. Most notably the sales associate who helped me, really made a good impression. His name is Jose Escamilla. This gentleman was so patient and so knowledgeable about the tiles I was looking at. He also gave us a great deal. My husband and I couldn't decide on a the tile color, and there are so many to chose from. I got there when they were closing the warehouse and Jose was kind enough to open the warehouse for me and allow me browse. Not only did he allow me to browse but he never rushed or acted like he was annoyed and ready to leave. He stayed with me, answered all of my silly questions, well silly to me anyway hehe. While I was on the phone with my husband, Jose patiently waited and helped us decide. I work in costumer service and I can't stress how important it is to be helpful when someone like me for instance is so confused, to be there to guide the costumer. I'll definitely go back to Glendale Tile and work with Mr. Jose Escamilla. Clean place, a lot to chose from. They seem to be pretty organized and know how to run a good business. =) read more

Glendale TIle... Definitely tons of tiles that at first glance, it is overwhelming. For any homeowner, designing any part of the house can stress you out with so many detailing and options to think through that you didn't even think you would have to make a call on! Luckily I was helped by Tatiana and Tomik, whom was so helpful with the whole process. Both were very knowledgeable with pricing and what was available. When I had questions of pricing for pieces that they weren't certain on, they rushed quickly to check up on it to make sure they priced correctly, and when I mentioned competitors pricing they did there very best in price matching. I don't like to waste time, and they certainly didn't waste mine. When i was stuck on how something would look, they would walk me to different options. And if they didn't have it one show room they walked with me to the other show room, to insure they offered me every option possible, and would give feedback. Most importantly, the place is well lit, very clean, well organized and most importantly priced well. So you could take yourself up the street and get your clothes all dirty, bumping into tiles and finding yourself frustrated because you spent hours without any luck nor customer service... After lurking on Yelp for years I finally felt compelled to make an account in order to review my experience at Glendale Tile. My partner and I are desperately trying to finish a small bathroom remodel that has taken much longer than anticipated. Despite being in a hurry, we decided to stop in at Glendale Tile to make some final selections. Anna greeted us at the door, but I'm sure we ignored her for a solid 5 minutes as we gazed in awe at our surroundings. The showroom is absolutely gorgeous! We quickly explained our situation to her: most of the design work for the bathroom had been done, but the accent pieces we had originally planned on were back ordered so we had to re-select. I think Anna could sense we were in a hurry as she seemed to absorb everything we said, crawled into our heads, and immediately led us to some fantastic choices. Now our problem is having to make a final decision based on the enormous selection! The good thing is that everything is efficiently laid out to allow customers to browse many options quickly. Our remodel has not gone as planned, but we are now more excited than ever to see the final result! So glad we decided to stop by and we're so anxious to receive our samples! Too bad there's no minus signed stars or zero star to use. To continue my last review of this place: the replacement tiles had color variations that Glendale Tile said the supplier would remove. The lot of tile finally arrived a week late and was full of unacceptable color variations as well as thickness variations that would have made my floor tiler go crazy had I taken them. When I rejected the order as being unacceptable, Glendale Tile told me I'd have to buy it anyway or pay an enormous stocking fee. I said, I told your salesman I would cancel my order but he insisted that I see the replacement tiles, to which I agreed only on the condition that I reserved the right to reject them if they were not the consistent color and thickness that I needed. Sorry, your having to pay for these is not our call, I was told. They asked me to call the distributor for them to ask for 'permission' to return them without charge! The distributor said no. So I told Glendale Tile, I'm not taking them, we had an agreement and they're now your problem, and left the store. Since I'd already paid for the order in full using my AMEX card, I contacted AMEX and told them what happened. They removed the charge from my account, but put it back two months later when Glendale Tile lied and told them I'd agreed to a 'all sales are final' policy. I argued that there was no sale since I'd received no goods and had been charged anyway. Five months later, the charge was cleared off my account, and Glendale Tile had to eat the tile. Good Riddance. I'll never deal with these people again! A word of advice: use AMEX for a powerful friend in scurrilous retail situations. read more

Every time I walk in, there are a number of salespeople willing to help. I worked with Todd and purchased about 300 Sq Ft of custom tile; he was able to expedite my order and I was able to get my work done on schedule. I must have received no less than 10 calls from Todd updating me on the status of my order and following up on other questions that I had. I was a little short on my tile order and Todd gave me the extra that they had shipped for store use and when my tile guy cut my last tile incorrectly, Todd sold me the store sample instead of making me order a full box like most places would have.
