Buyer beware: these guys are thieves! I purchased $2,000 in tile from them and after my tile setter had separated the broken and chipped tiles (approximately 20% of the total purchase) I contacted the salesman, Rooben, to exchange for new tile.
He hemmed and hawed when I told him the tile was not in the original boxes (how do you know if the tile is chipped or broken unless you take them out of the box?) and then tried to use the excuse that it had been nearly a month since the purchase: wrong! I purchased the tile on April 16th and it was picked up by my tile setter on April 24th. I contacted him on May 5th so his argument doesn't hold water.
He finally acquiesced and told me to bring the tile in for exchange. I arrived at the store 20 minutes later and his story changed again: since there were no boxes (the boxes practically disintegrate when you cut the nylon straps off of them) how could I claim the tile was chipped upon delivery and not by mishandling by the tile setter? He advised that I should have taken pictures as soon as I opened the boxes; something he NEVER advised at the time of purchase.
We went round and round about what constituted a chip versus broken and I became irate. First he tells me to bring the tiles back and then he reneges on his promise to replace the broken tiles. At this point I just told him to sell me the replacement tile. He returned to the showroom and I followed shortly thereafter. He began working with another customer while I waited and waited and waited. Finally I asked another salesman to help me and walked out $316.00 poorer. Do you think I'm going to challenge this purchase with my credit card company? You betcha! read more
