Prices were pretty typical for their used selection. I ended up picking up a newly released Sigma lens which was a surprise as my local stores don't typically carry a selection of Sigma. My first time visiting Glazer's. Upon entering, there is a large selection of cameras, lenses, bags, and equipment. I was greeted by a friendly sales associate, Ted, whom then was able to let me look at the Nikon 26mm pancake lens. He was very knowledgeable, and when I asked about macro extension tubes, he was also keen to help. Needless to say I left the store with two purchases! Even though their point of sale system was down, they still were efficient in ringing up the purchase. I'll be visiting again for future purchases! I recommend Glazer's for purchasing any camera products & accessories you need, however, for anything dealing with Glazer's Repairs, do NOT do it. Horrific communication, that's the real problem. The guy who leads up the repair team, Pat, clearly doesn't like his job, in any way. Then when delays happen for parts orders, which they def do, with Sony, Canon, etc., their communication with you, the customer, is the worst I've ever seen in 35 years on earth, in any industry. They just don't respond to you. When they have your livelihood, your gear, in their hands. The technicians are good at what they do & they'll make the fix with success, but if there are other repair services out there who will fix your gear successfully AND treat you like family, then just go elsewhere. Mail it into the OEM if you have to. To Glazer's management... Please evaluate Pat & why he doesn't wanna be there. Bc now my lovely brand experience & admiration for Glazer's has completely changed. Went looking for a specific size and feature set for a new camera bag, and while they didn't have what I wanted, they had just enough variety to that I left my (unsuccessful) search satisfied. My family just left the store and made a purchase. For context -My sister -in-law and her daughters were wearing a head covering and I was dressed in Indo- Pak garb. 2 sales associates were laughing and pointing at us continuously. We informed our sales associate ( she was nice btw) who rang us up about this rude behavior and to check your video footage. In short, they are either super ignorant or not truthful. I would not recommend dealing with them. Checked with them once before and once after placing an important order, got confirmation both times and they ended up cancelling my order claiming it was hold for someone else. Because they were so sure the item was gonna be mine, I cancelled my b&h pre-order I placed 3 months ago and ended up loosing my position in the queue, which would cause me further delay. This was what I worried about before I placed the order and that's also why I called twice to confirm it before I cancelled my other order. It's ok to make mistakes but it's awful to not pay attention 3 times. Once when they mark it as in stock and twice when they confirmed and told me there will be no problem with the order. This is my one and only experience with the store and it was not pleasant. I would think twice before dealing with them because if they cannot handle the orders right, I am not sure what's point. read more

This is an amazing place for any camera enthusiast. They have a large variety of camera gear both digital and film. The staff is friendly and all very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about cameras. I really love that you can test out a camera body or lens before committing to it. They also offer services like classes repairs, and trade-in where you can trade in your old camera gear for money that's much more worth it than trading at an online or tech store like Best Buy or Adorama. There is an underground parking that makes it hassle-free to visit. Overall, it's a great place to browse and find new gear to add to your camera collection and we love visiting whenever we are in the area. read more

Wanted to skip the online option for ordering camera equipment and found out Glazer's has a decent used equipment selection. The team here was ready and willing to entertain any questions from total novice to professional. Fortunately, I didn't need to spend a lot of time figuring this out, as I had come with a very specific camera from their online store. After finding out that it wasn't available, the person helping me pointed me to the next best option in the used rack. On my first visit, I ended up walking away with an Olympus body and 12-100mm lens for general purpose usage. After a test trip to Spokane to see how the new setup worked out, I ended up coming right back for more gear. Now, I'm not sure where else I would go for camera equipment in town. The selection and assistance you get here is second to none, and if they don't have what you need, they can help you find out where to get it. Definitely not the place to go if you're on a tight budget. Save up and come back when you're serious about photography, because Glazer's will have what you're looking for when you're ready to get serious. read more

This review is for Glazer's rental warehouse a block away from their camera shop (on Dexter St. instead of Republican St). Wow, we had a great experience with Glazer's! We were looking for a DIY solution to mic and stream our wedding ceremony online. Glazer's was absolutely terrific, friendly, knowledgeable, and so much easier to deal with than AV wedding vendors who did not respond to us. Everything was straight-forward and pickup and return was easy. They also answered a lot of questions to help us figure out what equipment we needed to book, and we ended up with just what we needed. We were very happy with the video and sound quality of our recording and stream, and would use them again. If you're not very familiar with camera equipment (like we weren't), I'd also recommend giving yourself an extra day to test everything, make sure you do have what you need, and familiarize yourself with it before your event! We were able to do that easily with the length of our rental window. read more

After several months of using it, I thought it would be time to step up my picture-taking game and get a camera of my own. Not really sure what I wanted, I decided to head to Glazer's. I haven't been to Glazer's in over a decade, so I was a bit surprised to see their remodel. Good for them for expanding. My first impression of this place was how organized this place was. Cameras in the showroom were organized by company in each case and were strategically displayed from the cheapest to most expensive. This made it really helpful if you decided you want to compare cameras. The gentleman who helped me, Daniel, was so knowledgeable and helpful. He initially told me they were short-staffed, so he went back and forth between customers. He sure didn't make me feel like they were short-staffed. I must've spent 10 minutes asking him a plethora of questions and he was so patient answering everything, and demonstrated the features on the camera I was inquiring about. By the time I finished, I was 99% sure which camera I wanted to buy, but I wanted to do just a little bit more research at home. I'm pretty much sold on Glazer's and I'll be back in the future to purchase my camera. I am so impressed with this place. Whether you're getting into photography or you're a seasoned photographer, you need to visit this place. The customer service is top-notch and they will adjust to your jargon. It is not often I give 5 stars, it is something that has to be earned in my opinion. Not to be given out willy nilly. It was recommended that I bring my lens to Glazer's to get repaired. I brought it in today, every single employee that crossed my path was so pleasant. The store was impeccably clean, everything in its place. I have never called myself a photographer. I have a nice camera, and take mediocre photos. After dropping off my lens, one of the employees was talking to me, and I advised him of my beginner status, and he told me he would teach me a little. He took like 20 minutes and gave me some pointers, told me to come back when my lens is repaired, show him the photos I've taken with my new found knowledge and he'd give me more information with my fixed lens and information based on the photos I've taken. I wanted to upgrade my camera gear and decided to go to Glazers to offer my used stuffed for sale and purchase over $6K worth of Sony equipment. The man who checked my gear for sale looked it over and gave me a ridiculous low offer, at least $500 less than what other places had given me and refused to negotiate and match any offer. Fine, no problem. It's their right, I would just go somewhere else. However, I did say, "Ok, thank you. I would still like to look at the Sony (lenses) I came to buy." He said "ok," and walked away. We then walked all around the store, looking for the Sony area, which turned out to be right next to where we were originally with the guy, who could have easily pointed to it or offered help, but we stood there trying to catch the attention of either the same guy, who was standing right in front of us, browsing his computer, or any of the other 5 guys who were doing absolutely nothing but talking among themselves or on their phones. After 5 minutes, we decided to leave and go to Kenmore Camera, where service is much better. We were appalled at the attitude and lack of service. And it was their loss, like I said, we were there to buy over $6K of equipment, only to be ignored. Dreadful customer service, unfriendly, unprofessional place. Will never go there again. read more

I came with my husband who was picking up his camera from being repaired. As I was walking through the store, a gentleman asked if he could help me. I hesitated at first but I said yes. He proceeded to be as unhelpful as possible. Every question I asked seemed to irritate him. I asked him what if he wanted to make any recommendations. Again, he seemed a bit irritated. I gave him a price range. I was able to get a little more information. You may ask, what did I expect? Based on the information I initially shared, I expected, here is a popular camera with bloggers or, here is a feature that is popular, and show me the various makers that have those features. Not sure why there were so many bad reviews, I had a wonderful experience here. I'm not much of a photographer but recently got a cheap, amateur camera. The different associates in the store helped me figure out which battery I needed, and recommended different types of film for me. God I don't even want to waste any more time on Glazer's by writing this review, but I will. I walked in and I was greeted by a man standing behind the cash register so I thought that was a good omen and was going to set the stage and negate the craptacular reviews I had read of people being totally ignored by sales associates. WRONG! I knew what I wanted. I'd done the research, I checked the website, it was in stock. Let's go back, I came here because a photographer friend of mine in Vancouver, B.C. said Glazer's had a good rep in the photography community. I was just going to go to Best Buy and pick up the Canon Rebel T7. Yes, I wasn't spending upwards of $2k, but for me, over $500 was a lot of money. I was going to give a local store my money instead. I browsed a little, saw some pretty nice things, but stood by the Canon counter and tried to make eye contact with one of the probably 3 or 4 associates I saw. Mr. Cash Register was still there. Another customer was beside me doing the same thing, trying to find some help. We joked back and forth about how ridiculous the situation seemed because there actually was quite a few sales associates doing NOTHING. At one point Mr. Cash Register came out, was in front of me looking at what another sales associate was doing, walked past me, MADE EYE CONTACT, and continued back to the cash register. I'm sure he heard me laugh. The only time that I got help, was when the gentleman I was talking to, actually went to the counter and told Mr. Cash Register that I was looking for help. At that point I was checking the time on my phone and was seeing how long it was actually going to take. It had turned it into a game. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Mr. Cash Register didn't come and help me, he got SOMEONE ELSE to help me. I guess Mr. CR doesn't like to work. I'd like to thank Stuart for helping me with my camera. Yes, even after all that time I still gave them my business. I did because I don't have a car and it would have taken me even MORE time to get out to Best Buy to buy the camera there. Will I ever return to Glazer's? HELL TO THE NO. The customer to sales associate ratio was obscene. A "I'll be right with you!" would have sufficed. Looking at me, and then walking away? Totally unacceptable. Were you afraid to talk to a woman? Did it look like I couldn't afford anything? I assure you I can afford "upwards of $2k" but wasn't in the market that day. Yes Glazer's, maybe losing my business won't hurt you, but if you do this enough times to enough people, they take their business online and then eventually you no longer have a store. We were in town taking the Underground Seattle Tour (which I highly recommend, btw) when my new camera strap decided to unbuckle and drop my camera as I was crossing a busy street. Yeah, I thought my heart was going to stop. Thank goodness, I had a protective lens, so my lens was ok. And my camera is made with metal parts, so minus the scratch, it was still in working order. But I could NOT get the protective lens off, and because it was in broken pieces (the glass part), I was really afraid to cut myself. I looked up on Google to find a camera shop, and can I get a HALLELUJAH!!!!!!? Glazer's Camera was less than 3 miles away. Our tour guide told me that ALL her photographer friends love it there and they'll take good care of me. I had no idea how right she was. The gentleman I handed my camera to with almost a tear in my eye was extremely sympathetic, extremely professional. Took care of me like I was his daughter, honestly. I didn't care that the replacement lens they had available was 5 times the price I paid for my cheapy one from Amazon. I gladly paid $50 for the considerate and compassionate service. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'm going to spend more time looking around. They seem to carry SO much stuff and I already like whom I'm dealing with. read more

With a "trip of a lifetime" coming up, I stopped into Glazer's to get my camera sensor cleaned, and while there did some shopping to up my photography game. Glazer's was a good resource, being able to get hands-on experiences with lenses and monopods. I overall trusted the advice I was being given, although did feel at times like I was somehow wasting the sales associate's time. I don't make $2000 decisions in 5 minutes, sorry. Additionally, while a lot of equipment has minimum advertised pricing, anything that doesn't (like accessories) are not priced as competitively as the NYC camera retailers like B&H. Very friendly staff, they directed me to all the film stocks and helped me find the right one. Most of their 35mm were out of stock but I'm glad they had a good supply of Cinestill and Ilford film. Only issue was that their register system was down at the time we were about to pay. However, their back up system went smoothly. I was told to pay for my order through their online system. There was a small mishap with the online payment I made but they were able to refund me easily in a matter of seconds despite their register system being down. Thank god for wifi. Overall very pleasant experience, this San Diego local is very pleased and I hope to visit again when I come back! read more

This is to Seattle as B & H is to New York. Without Glazer's there would literally be no place to go to actually look at something, hold it, and experience it in this whole damn city. Want to look at the Ona bag that's sold out online? Great! Find out how much a tripod actually weighs in your hands? You got it! Whether you want to take photography classes, get expertise on camera equipment, do the buy-back thing or look at a fancy camera in person... Glazer's is here for students, amateurs and professionals. Did you know you can rent from them as well? Yup, I've done that too. Equipment that would normally cost thousands of dollars is right at my fingertips for mere pennies *rubs claws together* hashtag student life. FYI -- their new store is open and it is beautiful to behold. For those of you who can't get enough of Glazer's, no more cramped little warehouse for you. There's a big, beautiful facility now open across from their old place in SLU with the same friendly service, but now with two stories, high ceilings, great natural light, and a new Leica kiosk (coming soon). Passionate camera people, full of knowledge and sound advice. The worst part of about being a photographer is the sheer amount of goodies which are available. From lenses, camera bodies, and more accessories than you can imagine, to the staff here, who each know almost everything about these things, Glazers has been my end all, when it comes down to finding anything camera. If you need something camera, you have it, will have it, or can get it for you. I have been here, many times... this particular occasion I came in to get missing plastic screw on cover for one of my cameras. I didn't have much hope after going to a few other places, but after talking to the sales person there, he knew in a few seconds what I was missing, and I had it in my hands shortly. This place is a no nonsense shop. If you want something, just ask. If you don't know what you are looking for, just ask. They service all levels of photographer, which under some instances, the sales person may sound insensitive if you are a newbie, but rest assured, they have always had customers best intentions, and if you spend the time with the sales person, you will know everything about your camera, even before you checkout, if you ask. You might have to wait a moment to be helped; it's busy there most of the time. I think the rule here is; they service many professionals who don't need the detailed demo or explanation, so they don't offer it sometimes, however; If you ask for help, they will answer. This place should be your absolute resource, when I want something, they have it, Camera stuff, lighting stuff, technology stuff, used camera stuff, pretty much anything photographic or video related, they have the stuff; and ready to try, before your buy, which is pretty much awesome. read more

I come here for film or paper, which they have LOTS of and they've never been out of stock of what I've wanted. It's an expensive hobby (or profession) so you have to expect some sort of pricey prices. But still, I would say they are fair compared to the rest of the world. The people that work here are hip and cool. Some of them quite dreamy that creates cartoon hearts in my eyes that sometimes float away and pop above my head. A lot of the people that come in here are the artsy fartsy people, of course, but that's where we (yes I am including myself in this bracket) feel confident and cool, right? I mean you wouldn't want to go to some place with a bunch of old retired folks wanting to play bingo. Ugh. No pleasure could possibly be derived from photo equipment and bingo night. Photo is a dying artform. Yes, with the influx of digital photography in your device that was designed to make calls, everyone is a freakin photographer these days. Except when it comes to film. This place can rightly still consider itself a photo store because of the huge selection they have available. They have digital stuff too but.. really, the film is where it's at. read more
