Huge shout out to security. The hard working security, given the nature of Northgate and the high crime rate hold things down. I've had a change to chat with security staff at the front and some, former military are super caring and kind. I feel super safe around northgate. Given the fentanyl and crime rate in the area this extra level of safety reassures me. The store is always clean and well displayed and the staff are knowledgeable. I think this store attracts a specific personality type and I noticed that some staff focus more on the specs of an item rather than focusing on the customer. It's hit or miss. Having come from sales and the service industry, I think that the emotional iq aspect could improve. I'm not giving this location a bad rating. I hope that my feedback can serve as a learning opportunity if you want. For example, I often have to find an associate to find something if there isn't one at the front by security. Sometimes, the staff will speak as if I am knowledgeable about tech and I hope the staff person can ask me what my knowledge of tech is first before processing. Value is fine. My son decided to buy a Samsung TV for me at the Northgate store along with a stand and the installation package. He was specifically told by the salesperson that the installation package included assembling the stand. When the TV arrived at my home in Colorado, I called our local Best Buy to arrange the installation. Much to my surprise, when the crew arrived, they informed me that the installation package did not include assembly of the stand so that was $120.00 wasted. All they did was take it out of the box, plug it into the wall outlet and show me a few rudimentary controls on the remote. I even had to show him how to hook up the cable connector. To add to my displeasure, the next day I tried to assemble the stand myself (since I had no other option), only to find out the mounting holes in the stand did not align with the holes in the TV. So not only did I lose out on the installation fee but we also had to return the stand. Obviously that particular salesperson did not know what he was talking about. read more

1 star Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Northgate Mall Geek Squad. I brought in my PC simply to have an operating system installed -- a routine service. Instead of just helping me, they finagled and upsold me into a yearly membership I didn't ask for. I was told it would be ready later that same day. That was a lie. The next day -- after no updates -- I get a call telling me they hadn't touched it. Why? Because Windows 10 is losing support in October. So what? It's June! They used this as an excuse to avoid doing the job I already paid for. Instead, I got a vague doomsday lecture about how maybe someday my PC could lose some functionality. Completely irrelevant to the service I requested. What made this worse is that they refused to honor our agreement unless I physically came back in and demanded it in person. I had to waste more of my time just to get them to follow through on what was already paid and promised. That's not service -- that's stonewalling. The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch scam. Geek Squad had no problem taking my money upfront but zero interest in delivering what they promised. I won't be back. Visited this location on 9/18/2025 to buy a cheap Samsung TV. First of all there was NO customer service in the television area, no working display for the cheaper end TVs, found a model on the floor shelf, but there was no price on the shelf for most of the TVs located across the bathroom. Pulled the TV off the shelf and dragged it to the cashier up front. Had to ask the cashier how much it was and how much was another model up, she couldn't look up the other model and give me info on it. I told her there were no prices and no help back there and that she should let the manager know - she kinda brushed it off and proceeded to ring me up, she wanted my phone number and I showed her my membership number for my info, but she insisted in getting my phone number. Although J Rose at Geek Squad dept. was as helpful and understanding as could be, it was completely unacceptable to find that my original purchase of a simple data transfer from old computer to new computer was actually rung up under someone else's Best Buy account. Spent 2 hours waiting for a correction. Very worried about how much of my personal information that other person has. Their staff are not seasoned veterans. I really didn't feel like I should pay any thing for the service since they really screwed up but management only gave me a $50 gift card. Can't say I'm a satisfied customer. Now it's a shell of a store with virtually no home audio equipment or unless your willing to drop $50,000 on McIntosh home audio gear, NOT... I went to Best Buy to purchase a portable air conditioner, and was disappointed to find out they don't have air conditioners on the floor so that you can see what you're buying. I didn't feel very confident about what the clerk was telling me about the air conditioner available, but I did go online and did some exploring and finally ordered an air conditioner on their website. The Best Buy website describes it as 14,000 BTUs, however the box says 10,000 BTUs. much trouble to return it. The UPS delivery was very confusing... They were going to deliver it on Monday but on the Friday before, they told me they were going to deliver it Saturday between two and six. I rearranged my schedule so I could be home. Saturday morning they sent me a message that it would be delivered by 9 PM. it was impossible to talk to a real person about when it was actually going to arrive. With trip planner I found the building alright but finding the entrance was a night mare. Finally someone told me it was on the lower level. There were no signs to show this. The down escalator was broken and when I approached the nearest eleavators they were out of order again no sign to explan this or show people were to go. I walked around to the other side and managed to find a working eleavator. I finally found the entrance. Everytime I asked a uniformed employee for help they said they were not a salesperson. There were several running around ignoring me. I'm done with Best Buy. This used to be a great store with decent customer service and I've bought TVs and laptops from them for years - it hasn't been that for awhile now. I ordered a Breville Air-fryer/Toaster oven on line from Best Buy, picked it up at this location 2 days ago. When I opened it today, I discovered the enamel roasting pan was damaged: the enamel coating was completely scraped off one corner. I called Best Buy customer service, and asked whether I could just get the roasting pan replaced. He told me yes, just bring in the roasting pan with your receipt and credit card, and they can order a new pan for you. i asked him 3 times if he was sure, as this didn't sound right to me. He assured me it was. I drove to the store, waited in the loooong check-out line. The check-out person told me that no, I couldn't get the roasting pan replaced, and that the customer service person was wrong and doesn't even work for Best Buy. He then said that I could go over to Geek squad, and they might be able to order the roasting pan for me. I went over to Geek squad, and they asked if I had an appointment. I finally got somebody to listen to my situation. He said that if I'd bought the product protection or something like that, then they could do it for me. I had literally just opened the box that day. He also said Customer Service doesn't know what they are doing. At no point did he or anybody apologize that my new appliance was damaged right out of the box, or acknowledge the inconvenience resulting from the misinformation provided to me. Their website states nothing of two forms of photo ID needed for trade-ins. I showed them my Driver's License and Washington state concealed pistol license that displays the Driver 's License number on it to match. They declined it and said due to criminals trading in stolen goods the City of Seattle requires two forms of photo ID. I spoke with the store manager and asked if they can put a notice of that to save people from traveling all the way to the store to be informed of this by word of mouth only. He had a very not my problem attitude about it and refused to pass along any feedback. They told me to go to the Bellevue store and they might be able do it without two forms of photo ID. So I'm just expected to travel around from store to store until I find a location that can tell me by word of mouth (the only way this information is provided) if I can do a trade in or not. When I went there, they had forgotten to tell me that even though I paid for the product, my dad, whose best buy account registered the products had to show up with an id. The staff was super helpful, and the selection of DVDs was larger than I thought it would be. I received a pair of Bose ear buds which quit working after 2 months. When my husband purchased them for me, the sales person at Best Buy told him they were under warranty for a year, but did not say it was the manufacturer warranty. I tried to return them at the store, but they won't back the product, and Bose won't refund my money because the money went to Best Buy. I can get a replacement from Bose, but I don't want a product which only lasted 2 months. I love going to this Best Buy. There is plenty of parking here as the parking garage goes up many floors. I never have to wait for a spot and usually can find one within a floor of Best Buy. Every time I go to Best Buy I am asked if I need help by multiple employees as I walk through and shop. I'm usually asked within the first 10 minutes of walking around. Today, I specifically went to get a pair of wireless headphones. I walked over to the wireless headphone section and was approached by a Best Buy employee within 5-10 minutes of standing there and looking. He asked if he could help me and I explained to him that I was trying to choose between the Bose Soundsport Free and Jabra Elite 65T. The employee explained to me the different pros and cons of each and compared them to each other. He then suggested I get the Bose first then if I don't like them to return them within 15 days after trying them. Best Buy's return policy is so great and another reason why I always shop here. The fact that I can test out products and return them guilt free within 15 days is AMAZING. Especially with tech and headphones where you want to try them out before really making a decision. Needless to say, I took these home and I am so happy! This was definitely the correct choice. The employee was not joking when he said the sound quality is going to be great! I was out of there within 20 minutes. Other items I've purchased from Best Buy are my Samsung Note 9 (which was great because the employee set it all up for me), my HP Chromebook (which I received great advice and information on before purchasing), and video games (which the employees are always quick to let me know of free Steelbook add-on bundles). It was great to get Resident Evil 2 with a free Steelbook last time. The Steelbooks themselves are selling for around $30 on eBay. I love this Best Buy and will continue to be a returning customer. read more

Honestly don't know why I ever come in this store. I have in my head that I'm going to come here and get some help deciding what electronic meets my needs and then be able to immediately purchase the item. Being a non-tech person I would prefer a Hands-On buying experience. However even though there's a hundred people walking around with blue shirts, no one ever helps you. You can stand around looking lost forever but no one is ever going to come and ask you if you need any help or you have any questions. If they do they say it's not their department and then they will send someone but no one ever comes. I don't know how many times I've walked in this store, and then walked out a while later after receiving zero assistance. This place is a complete joke. If you want to watch the slow death of retail, come to Best Buy. The one good thing I'll start with. Daniel at Customer service. This store is overworked, understaffed, and here my man is helping 3 people at once in the customer service line to ensure people are not having to wait too long. The guy was a wizard. Helping someone with a laptop, my tv exchange, an iPhone exchange, and not breaking a sweat. DANIEL-If you are reading this, ask for a raise immediately or quit and find a better job that honors your great customer service. Somewhere you can get commission(Nordstrom) or treated with respect. If this store had more employees like him, if Best Buy had this guys attitude they might be okay. But.... You have a run down looking store, with light inventory(due to shrink? theft?) so all of their displays/shelves etc look picked over because there are gaps in the product facings. The store manager made it clear that they were short staffed, which on one hand you appreciate the honesty, but then get frustrated that no one there can help you. I came in with an exchange, receipt, order # etc, almost no line at customer service, and the process took over 45 minutes, because employees couldn't find the product and then a manager override was needed at the check out. Again, not the CS employees fault, but just the general lack of order. Another reminder and plus in the box for Amazon. At this point Best Buy is just a good place to touch and feel a product before ordering online. read more

Location: conveniently located in the same building as Petco and Target with plenty of garage parking. This is my go-to location for this reason and its proximity to where I live. Staff: Generally friendly. However, if you have done your own homework regarding purchasing a laptop, phone, or tablet, the staff are not very helpful in terms of providing further insights or professional opinions that you cannot find on the Internet. Returns & COVID: Horrible. It took me THREE trips to the store to finally be able to return a laptop because the return line took forever and I didn't have all day to wait. I have tried different times of the day and different days of the week, but every time there were 5-8 customers ahead of me and only one staff working on returns. Each customer took on average 5-10 minutes and I was literally waiting in line for 30 minutes. It was extremely frustrating when they had a dedicated staff to help online pick-up customers behind me instead of working on whoever was ahead to speed up the wait time. read more

Only reason I even gave it the one star is because I have to. These guys were absolutely rude with zero customer service skills. I bought a dji drone from the Tacoma Best Buy. Super nice guys helped us. I hadn't used the drone much over the course of 2 weeks. I think it was under an hour total of fly time. I went to use it on my 15th day and the gimbal was all messed up. It kept saying gimbal motor overload and was shaking. Well I had flown it off somewhere and was flying passed on my camera alone. Once I lost the picture on the gimbal it accidentally went into the tree. I called customer service because I knew I was approaching my deadline for a return. They informed me to bring it in tomorrow to my local Best Buy cuz the closest store to me was closing in 10 min. I packaged up the drone and brought it to work with me the next day. On my lunch break I went to go speak with Best Buy at north gate. Once I arrived I was directed to customer service to speak with Ian I believe his name was. At first it started out good. He looked at the drone and said oh yeah the gimbal moved quite a lot that shouldn't have happened that's a manufacturer defect. Let's go a head and get this exchanged for you. I handed him my receipt and at this point I am 1 day past the return policy. Only because I just hadn't used it yet during my first 14 days with it. Anyways he starts scanning away and then goes oh I can not return it you have to go through dji. Dji is requesting to see the damage. And then I asked and he advised me that it was since my return date was off by 1 day. I then asked to speak with a manager. Ian then rolled his eyes and radioed for the manager that was right next to him. Once she finished up with the customer she was working with she then came over and had a conversation with Ian directly next to me about the situation. She kept asking Ian questions saying why won't it or what happened etc. they finished their conversation (I am still standing right next to them) the manager then walks away and Ian looks at me and goes yep she said the same thing as me it has to go back to dji. Now I am crying in the store due to being completely stressed out as I have a $600 paper weight now that I got to use for 30 min and no one will help me with it. So I asked Ian to please have the manager speak with me. I explained the situation to her and she just ended up yelling me. Eventually she went and got her manager who then came out and also gave me the run around as to why the couldn't exchange it for me. I know that they have the capabilities of being able to do what's right they just chose not to do it. I then spoke with an agent on chat as I was so upset. They assured me that yes a manager could override the system and make an exception to the policy and return/exchange it for me. I then told the chat how good of an experience I had at the Tacoma store and they advised me that they would put my in the que for a call back from the Tacoma branch. Here it is almost a week later and no call back. Literally the worst costumer service ever. My family and I will not be purchasing from Best Buy ever again. Previously the store had staff willing to help, offer assistance verging on the point of being annoying, yet they seem to have done a complete 180 on that strategy these days.
