I don't care how good the company is, if the driver is unsafe, they'rere not only unprofessional, they're liable to kill someone! Cars are weapons, whether they're used that way or not!!! This driver s/b fired, and the company needs to put road safety ahead of saving 3 minutes. They are liars. The owner as well as one of his employees tried to convince me I needed a new ac unit which I could purchase from him at a cool $11k. Because they were sent through my home owners warranty (HOW) I thought they could be trusted and had ethics. Boy, was I wrong. I went out on my own and contacted someone I knew I could trust, but not listed on my HOW and all I needed was a new starter switch. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would! My heat went out on a Sunday and, as to be expected, there was no one available at most businesses to come out. The owner, Gerald, took the extra step to come to my house personally to check out the problem as soon as he could and got me some temporary heat until the part for my furnace comes in. I could tell he was genuinely concerned and the price was reasonable and he wasn't trying to hard sell me on a new furnace which, when I'm ready to get one I will definitely be getting it from this company. Great work! Since purchasing my new home I've wanted a new thermostat that was WiFi enabled. When requesting a quote using Yelp the rep responded immediately and provided a quote. The price quoted included a new Ecobee4 Alexa enabled and the labor to install. The technician contacted me 20 mins before the service window and arrived at the top of the hour. I recently brought a new house and I had a brand new HVAC unit however it was too big for my house and it was making a lot of noise. Unfortunately for me, I had to replace it. Gerald (the owner) was very patient with me explaining what would happen doing the installation process. My unit was installed by Tim. I have to say the overall service was excellent. They installed my new HVAC in a timely manner and were extremely clean. My new HVAC is doing great and I highly recommend GK Mechanical. read more

This company is a fraud! They came out to work on my hvac system, charged $300 (on top of my warranty deductable of $125), claimed they "fixed" my unit. Four days later the unit was not working. They came back out to check on the unit and simply walked away claiming the only way to fix the problem was to install abother unit for over $12,000. Two days later I found another company to really fix the problem for $420! When I called to get a refund for the money they charged to NOT fix the problem, they refused. CROOKS and should NOT be in business. read more

Color me impressed. I called my home warranty company to file a claim because i had issues with heating my home. They contracted with GK Mechanical, a tech came out the following day, assessed the issue, contacted the warranty company and within the hour I was approved for a new system. I was put on the schedule for the following week. The rep touched base with me over the weekend to let me know what was going on with ordering of the system etc.I received a text the day of install to inform me of arrival. I first worked with GK mechanical in December 2019. My electric bill was coming in at $900 a month during the winter and I had no clue what was wrong. I had two other companies out to see what was wrong and nobody could figure out. GK sent John out and he listened to my concern and was able to find the problem. My bill went down 60% and the system worked perfectly. Just this week I had to call Monday night when my air conditioner went out. John came out same day, cleaned my system, changed my seriously old filter, and added refrigerant. They are my go to for service moving forward. When I say this company is amazing, that doesn't even do justice! They are so efficient, knowledgeable and polite. I think it speaks volumes when an owner steps in to explain things to a customer. I love this company so much. I have worked with them two years in a row and at this point they will never be able to get rid of me. Working with my homeowner insurance has been so stressful but GK has made this process so easy and they explained everything to me so that I was able to understand. You will not be disappointed if you go with them! I feel like we are all a family now. The field technicians are amazing. Pete came to my house, he and my dog are best friends. Pete showed my husband what he was doing, he taught my husband about our unit and on top of it, he enjoyed my dog lol. I had a home warranty that would not cover a new air conditioning unit so I had to be financed through GK Mechanical for a new unit for $9450. On August 31 2022 the unit was installed after suffering weeks with the heat dealing with the home warranty company. Once he installed it he let the unit run for maybe 20 minutes and it didn't come on he then said it probably needed a new thermostat at which point he did come out the next day and install a new thermostat and again only let it run for about 15 to 20 minutes and it was working. Then the weather changed and I needed to turn the heat on. April 5th, 2023 the first time I turned the unit on because the temperature was in the high 80s and within an hour I knew it wasn't working. I immediately called them and only got their answering machine. For the next 3 days, I continued to call them and could only leave messages. They never did call me back and this is extremely poor and unacceptable behavior to treat customers like this. This unit had only been installed for 7 months. They should have come out without any charge to me to find out what was wrong but they never contacted me again after it was installed. I'm 71 years old I have very bad asthma high blood pressure and going through chemo treatments and on oxygen. The temperature in my home on April 7th was 90 when I tried going to bed. They know how to talk the talk if they think they are going to get thousands of dollars from you but once they do that's it, no follow-up calls if something is wrong. I think their motto should be "I'll put it in and never see you again". read more

The day our AC went out, a technician came out to assess the situation and determined we'd likely need a new compressor or a full unit replacement. They scheduled a follow-up visit for a few days later - AC went out on 7/3, of all days - and we received a reasonable quote from Gerald. Two days later another tech came out to do the installation, and our AC has been running smoothly and keeping us cool and comfortable ever since. This is the first time I've had to replace an AC unit, so I went in with few expectations, but everyone we interacted with was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable, and seemed to be very thorough in their work. They worked on my A/c unit. Over charged me for parts and services they would not explain. He wanted a additional $400 for extra repairs. I asked for a explaination of the extra repairs and never got one. He showed up without the tools necessary to do the job. He was very unprofessional and rude. The a/c broke shortly after his repairs. He came out put a gauge on the unit, stated that it was low. Would not perform any other diagnostic. Once again when i called him and asked him for the diagnosis, he was rude and confrontational. I do not recommend letting them work on anything. I have scheduled a another HVAC person to evaluate the repairs done by this company. They are a bunch of rip off artist that only try to up sell unnecessary work and will not honor any problems they create. read more

I called Choice Home Warranty to put in a claim because my air condition unit stop blowing after my power went out. The unit itself work but when the power came back on it didn't blow out any air. When this company came out they sent to check out by the name of Donnell. When he came in she told me about a purifying system for the air that had nothing to do with why he was there and also said that if I didn't keep my unit up that Choice Home Warranty wouldn't cover any claims now this was before she even took a look at my system. When he finally looked at the system said something was blown out. When he put the claim in he took a picture of my blower that had a little bit of dust on it and sent that picture to the warranty company and told them the reason why my unit wasn't blowing was because of the Dust. When he left he called me back told me that my claim was denied and that they could fix it for $800. To make a long story short I did not use them I called someone that I know work on AC units and it was the piece that was blown out the piece cost $40 and he charged me 40 to put it on and my unit is working fine. If you have a warranty company that you go through do not use this company if they are referred to you or get a second opinion. read more

I called with an emergency situation. My 89 yr old mother that lives alone noticed that her house was not warm and that the furnace was putting out cold air. My mother has chronic COPD and because of the covid pandemic she does not leave her home. My mother has a heating warranty and the company arranged to have his company come out to determine what the problem with the furnace was and if needed to do the repairs or replacement. This issue was on a Friday afternoon. The company told her that they could not get anyone out to service her furnace until Monday around 7pm. We explained to them that we considered this to be an emergency because of her chronic health issues and that we needed help before Monday evening. We were told that the only thing that their company could be was to put us on a waiting list if they received a cancellation. Of course for us that was not acceptable. With that being said, we choose to cancel the appointment and to go with another company even if it was outside of the warranty network. read more
