Lackluster service - slow, inattentive with an uncomfortable upsell - we ordered a Caprese Sandwich & Pasta Bolonese waiter said "You don't want an Appetizer?" We had to ask for water 3x to get a refill of water. I asked for no salt on the chicken, thinking it was freshly made... tasted like a frozen item, pre-seasoned. I had to ask for pesto which was not on the sandwich. The Pasta serving entree was appetizer size & VERY salty. It felt like they wanted to do the bare bones to get the most out if you. I picked a beautiful spot, and almost immediately Kenny brought me sparkling water, complimentary eggplant caponata, and bread that tasted like it had been baked by someone in heaven! I started with the Millefoglie Di Melanzane "Alla Mamma Carolina"--thinly layered eggplant, San Marzano D.O.P. tomato sauce, and 18-month Parmigiano Reggiano. I make eggplant Parmesan at home, but this was on an entirely different level. Absolutely out of this world. As a special favor, they also prepared a half portion of Buccatini Carbonara for me: Roman-style bucatini with guanciale, egg, Pecorino Romano, and black pepper. My only complaint? I didn't get the full portion! It was outstanding. For my main course, I ordered the Costatella Di Cervo, a marinated venison chop with red wine, juniper berries, and herbs, chargrilled and served over soft Ribiola cheese polenta with port wine and fresh figs. I normally wouldn't order venison, but I am so glad I took the chance. It was spectacular--tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Dessert was the Italian ricotta cheesecake, and I had a decaf cappuccino with foam that was like whipped cream The restaurant itself is charming and beautifully decorated, the service is truly exquisite, and the food is beyond belief. The inside is very cozy and it makes you feel like you're sitting in a restaurant in the Amalfi coast. The night we were there we sat outside on the sidewalk. Four of us went with high hopes for a terrific Italian dinner. Our experience ended up being…read moresomething we never would have imagined; one of the least enjoyable meals that we've had in a long time. Let's start at the beginning. Parking...it is extremely limited. The restaurant is at the outside border of the busiest street in Piermont, and snagging a parking spot is very unlikely. You will need to walk about 1/10 of a mile from the public lot to the restaurant, which in our case was especially memorable considering it was raining. The owner might consider hiring a valet service if he cares at all about his clientele. Next, the seating. You couldn't squeeze another table into this space if your life depended upon it. It was ridiculously over-crowded, and the only way some tables could accommodate patrons is if those tables were moved out of place so folks could get to their chairs. Fortunately the patrons were all good sports, so people dealt with having to get up to allow the moving tables with relatively good humor. In our case, every time a waiter needed to get by our table I'd have his butt squeezing past the back of my chair. Not a good image for the restaurant. The drinks are mostly a major rip-off. The menu has a large page of wine and beers, which becomes less impressive once you are told that most of the items listed are not available. The average price for a bottle of imported beer is about $19, and some bottles are $25 and even $46. All bottled wines are $60 (by itself, not bad), but any glass of those same wines is a hefty $20. The service was fine, but now we come to the most important part...the food. I started with the Caesar salad, which actually was excellent. A nice-sized portion loaded with romaine and cheese and a very tasty dressing. The two ladies got the eggplant appetizer and they were both totally unimpressed with it, calling it mediocre. My friend got the seafood salad, and declared it absolutely tasteless. Little did we know this was to be the theme of the night. The entrees... Two of us ordered shrimp scampi, and two ordered chicken Milanese. The shrimp scampi was four jumbo shrimp and linguini with a few sliced rounds of zucchini, swimming in hot water. I could not even call it a broth; it was one of the blandest dishes I have ever had, with not a hint of seasoning. The ladies got the Milanese, and in my wife's words you needed a chainsaw to cut through it. Talk about half-heartedly eating a meal; that was us. We didn't hang around for dessert; we squeezed our way out of there and headed to a diner for coffee. If you're reading this and think I'm just a complainer, please take a minute and look over some of my other reviews, most of which are 4 to 5 stars. I feel confident saying that we will not be back.

Sitting right on the marina, with the water and boats in view, gave me just enough of a "beach" feeling to pretend I was back on the Cape. It brought back some wonderful beach memories. The food was decent - we had crab cakes and a lobster roll - and the prices felt fair for Piermont, although, as you'd expect with the waterfront location, they're a little higher than what you'd pay in neighboring towns. This is definitely old-school dining: no fancy food trends or reinvented dishes, just the standard seafood-and-American fare you'd expect. And honestly, sometimes that's exactly what you want. Service was attentive, although a little slow when their system went down and they had to go back to old-school math to figure out the bills. The view is the real star. One thing I wish people would stop doing, though, is feeding the ducks bread. It may seem harmless, but bread fills birds up without giving them the nutrition they need and can actually make them unhealthy. Enjoy watching them, just let them find their own dinner. Another big plus: easy parking! Unlike much of Piermont, there's a huge lot, so you don't have to circle the village looking for a spot. And Marel, the owner, is a doll. The place has been family-owned for decades, which makes supporting it feel even better. So no, this isn't a destination for fancy dining. It's old-school, casual, waterfront Piermont, and on a warm summer night with a frozen drink in your hand and the Hudson in front of you, that has its own kind of charm.

There is a pretty good chance I am putting several Japanese kids through college with the amount of high end sushi my wife makes me buy for her. With that being said the experience actually has to be worth the cost and Trata is not even close. Let's start with the good. The view is magnificent and if this is why you came, stop reading now. You will get precisely what you came for. However, if you came for a good meal, sorry, this place is way overpriced and just not good. The lone standout from the meal was the octopus. Flavorful and cooked just right. From there it was all down hill. My wife and I had the highly recommended fresh red snapper at $90+ dollars. It was totally dry and flavorless. Sides were nothing special. I would argue you could get better whole red snapper at Noches De Columbia or one of the many Thai places in rockland for a third or less of the cost. Then the real disaster of the night was the rack of lamb which my kids ordered. 8 pieces of lamb for $85. For those counting that's $10 bucks a piece, ordered medium rare and it was served so raw a good veterinarian could bring it back to life. Naturally, we told our server who took it to the back and returned about 3 minutes later totally well done. I have worked in many restaurants in my day and I know there is only one way to go from raw to well done in 3 minutes and that is with the microwave. Sorry but at 10 bucks a rib have some respect for your customers and put the meat on the grill. I know it's busy, I know you're swamped too bad. If you want to eat in Piermont there are plenty of other much better and way cheaper options, and if you need a view of the bridge just walk down the Pier. We won't be back.

Five Star Restaurant! A Perfect Venue, Great Food, Fantastic Service Last weekend I hosted a "Fabulous" Bridal Shower at Giulio's by Harvest Moon Restaurant in Tappan, NY. I only had two weeks to pull this event together and it took place without a hitch. Anthony was a dream to work with. After our first appointment he had an immediate understanding of the atmosphere I wanted for the shower and delivered it with ease.......the flowers, décor, decoration of the bridal chair, music and, of course, the menu. David, the chief, delivered an epicurean delight. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection and the presentation was flawless. The staff was extremely attentive to everyone's needs. So much so that they actually assisted one of my guests up and down the stairs since she was not able to do so herself. This was a big oversight on my part. I have hosted many events in the City, Rockland and Westchester but none can compare to the food, service and personal attention we received at Giulio's!!!! The Victorian house has been beautifully renovated and, upon entering, it takes you back in time with elegance. read more

The owner Anthony was extremely accommodating and he really went out of his way to meet some of our special requests. He even had a changing table in a bathroom upstairs, which was so nice because we had a lot of babies at the party. All of our guests raved about the food, drinks and service too! For appetizers we had egg plant rollatini, stuffed mushrooms, chicken tender skewers, and warm brie tartlets. They were all ridiculous!!! We had the penne with tomato cream sauce which was cooked perfectly (al dente). I had the grilled vegetable napoleon, which was absolutely delicious. Anyone who had the skirt steak with espresso BBQ sauce raved about it! The atmosphere was so charming and everything was very clean. It was our last lunch before sending my daughter off to college. We were eating our first course, the soup, when someone came over to anxiously clear off plates. Two people finished their soup, but another two were still eating at the table. This drives me nuts. I wish they'd just wait until everyone finishes a course before clearing. What happened next is what set me over the edge. People came out with our salads and one guy was trying to take my daughter's soup away while she was still eating it. After we stopped him, he then wanted to just squeeze it on the table beside her. Sheesh. I was so annoyed and didn't understand why they're rushing us. The gnocchi paired perfectly with the chicken, and it was one of those dishes you keep going back for another bite of. We also ordered the garlic bread, which was fresh, buttery, and the perfect addition to the meal. Everything tasted homemade, the portions were generous, and our food was packaged well and still piping hot when we got home. It's exciting to have another great local Italian spot near Northvale. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend giving BK Italian Kitchen a try!

The waitress brought us a cocktail menu so we ordered one each only to have her return and say they were out of cocktails we could have beer or wine. Then another woman presumably a manager said we could get cocktails just not the ones on the menu she explained they were out of certain liquors due to a large weekend event (we were there on Wednesday) she attempted to make her own concoctions they were no to our liking. We did not let her know that because she obviously was trying to do her best. Service was very slow again the manager apologized saying they were short staffed. The food was not bad unfortunately they got my wife's order wrong and at one point they brought our food to the wrong table. The manager was very apologetic and you could tell she wanted to make a good impression for the establishment. When we were ready to pay they did not know how to process the gift card saying the person who could do it was not there. They asked that we leave the gift card and would process the payment and call me so I could return to get the gift card with the remaing balance. I obliged and left all my contact info but they never called back. After a few weeks we finally trekked back over only to be told they had no clue what we were talking about. Eventually we got things settled. What was supposed to be a nice evening turned into a nuisance of back and forth driving although it's only 20 minutes away unless we were going there specifically it's 20 minute out of our way. The venue itself has a very nice decor the staff seem friendly. The night was a disappointment & I probably would not go back if it wasn't for the fact that I still have some monies left on the gift certificate.

As soon as you walk in, you will notice the classy, chic décor of the dining area; it gives off old Hollywood vibes. The seating is tight and the restaurant is on the smaller side, so I recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. The hostesses and servers are friendly, attentive, and personable. I always end up having good conversations with my server haha. As soon as I sit down, I'm already in a good mood because their complimentary bread served with olive oil and butter is to die for! During all of my past visits, I've never been disappointed with a dish. They have specials so there's always something new to try on the menu. Just a heads up, they are BYOB! These are some of my personal favorites: -Chicken Francese ($23.95) - The chicken cutlet is so tender, and the chefs get the francese sauce just right. It's a perfect balance of white wine, lemon, butter, and egg. You have the option of adding one free side: (1) potatoes and vegetables OR (2) pasta (angel hair, penne, rigatoni). -Pasta Limon ($31.95) - HEAVENLY... This dish consists of angel hair pasta in a creamy sauce that's a combination of lemon, parmesan, and butter. It comes with chicken and shrimp. -Fig di Sicilia Pizza ($17.95) - This has always been my #1 favorite appetizer, but sometimes it tastes better than other days. When it's made to my liking, it's basically a thin flatbread topped with mozzarella, fig marmalade, prosciutto, and arugula. This appetizer is the reason why I started eating figs LOL -Cannoli - These are HUGE and their ricotta filling is absolutely delicious! I have to roll myself out the door after eating here! Good thing I work out.

Every dish we tried was outstanding, from start to finish. The burrata was incredibly fresh and creamy, perfectly balanced with its accompaniments. The prime New York strip was cooked to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and tender. The chicken Milanese was crisp, light, and not greasy at all, with great flavor in every bite. The clams oreganata were packed with garlic, herbs, and that perfect breadcrumb topping. The eggplant parmigiana was rich and comforting, layered beautifully with sauce and cheese. The charred octopus was one of the highlights--perfectly tender with a smoky flavor that really stood out. You can tell there's real passion behind the food here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the attention to detail shows in every dish. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to again and again

It was a combination of Italian seasonings, garlic, and olive oil. I'd also like to acknowledge my food was served in a timely manner and the dedicated waiter works with a sense of urgency. The chicken parmesan entrée comes with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Pasta is only served upon request, but that was not mentioned on the menu. The red sauce was watery and cutlet was on the thicker side. I acknowledge the effort, but regretfully this CP was not my top choice.
