I used to really enjoy Giordano's for their excessive cheesiness and their unique tasty crunchy crust. We went on around 7 on a Friday expecting it to be super busy. The place was all but empty, no wait. Our host had to be reminded to seat us and seemed annoyed about it however. That sucked. We waited a while for our server, an older man who was kinda just not friendly at all, almost to the point of being indifferent and annoyed at the same time. We ordered their wings as an app to the small pizza and the wings were actually shockingly good, but the ranch was better. Atmosphere was lacking, and I'm starting to feel like the more chain-ier Giordano's gets, the less I like it, the more like a pizza diner it feels. I will probably try local next time. I loved Giordano's when I lived in Chicago, I was born there. Had many great pizza's from thin to thick and other great food I miss. So I decided to bring the taste to where I live now and man was I sad after I cooked the pizza they mailed to me. Horrible customer service at the Giordano's on 63rd & Cicero. Things happen, I get that, but when your pizza arrives cold & stuck to the top of the box, it's not ok. Tried to peel it off the top and make it work, but the box stuck to the cheese (nasty) and it was covered in a paper film. Called the store to let them know and request a refund. Even sent pictures as they requested. Manager, Roberto (told me he could not give his last name), was awful. Worst customer service I've ever received from a restaurant. Waiting to see if we get a refund after 30 minutes of arguing with him. Told us we could eat the other 1/2 that wasn't smooshed. Said he'll refund 1/2 the cost bc 1/2 was edible - are you kidding me? The pizza was fantastic. We are visiting from the east coast and had to try a traditional Chicago deep dish pizza. The order was delayed and the manager called me personally to explain and apologize. He then gave us the pizza for free. I would highly recommend this place for their customer service and quality of the pizza. read more

Worst customer experience ever. Arrive at 9:40 and were told the dining room closes at 10, I was told by the gal in the front she would not seat us even though they were open until 10. She was beyond rude and clearly wanted to leave early. We went down the street to Lou Malnati's and were seen even though they close at 10 too. Upon arrival we had our mind set on getting pizza, especially at this location. I knew for a fact I was going to enjoy it once again. How wrong was I? Of course with the current situation, we understood the protocol, but it was not fitting for rude service. We were placed in the middle of the restaurant, and no one bothered to service is for nearly 15 minutes. Finally, someone came and asked us were we ready. Why of course. It took them over an hour to give us our order. We kept inquiring but each time we were told, " It's coming guys." Fed up, we asked for our food to go and still no food. Easily one of the top 3 deep dish "pie" places here in Chicago, it's not for the weak! As with most pizzas of this magnitude, be prepared to wait while they cook the pizza. Giordano's is a great pizza chain. Specifically, it's a great chain for those who love pizza and love dining in. The flavor of the pizza is absolutely delicious and perfect, especially when it comes to the deep dish, the atmosphere is great. Landed in Chicago midway and the first thing that came to my mind was to have deep dish pizza. This place popped up as one of the closest place to the airport that was open and serving deep dish so decided to go here. The place is decent but it seemed very odd that all non-white people were seated in a separate section. I am not sure if that was intentional or coincidence. Other than that the staff seemed ok and food was good. Deep dish takes about 30min so beware of that in case you're super hungry. My review is 100% based on the Stuffed spinach pizza. Giordano's sets the standard for Chicago Stuff pizza. When you try other places you will always compare them to Giordano's. This is a meal that is worth taking your time, and enjoying. But if you are in a hurry phone ahead and they will have the pizza ready when you get there. That being said, have heard from a few reliable sources that have ate there since I last did, that it has really gone downhill...WAY downhill. There was a crap in every bowl there was a sign not to flush toiletries, to use the garbage ..but there wasn't one in each stall. So there was pads every where. The bathroom was super dark. I guess, like a burger, the ratio of size to toppings to dough makes a huge difference. We ordered a half and half which is great because you order 2 different types for share. Servie is great. Plenty of parking. I was forewarned the pies are made fresh so it takes a while for the order to arrive. If your in rush, it might be an issue. Chicago deep dish with tons of cheese and buttery crust. They also had a crispy thin pizza option. Lots of topping options. They also had a wide variety of beer and drinks on tap. Hey Yelp, Can you please consider adding 10 stars as a rating option? I don't feel that 5 stars is enough when speaking of the amazing Giordano's Pizzeria. My friend was going to take me out for some Chicago deep dish pizza on my last night in the city. We were going to the Navy Pier afterwards so we were gonna head out to the location closest to there. We decided to call ahead of time and were told the wait time on Saturday nights can be up to 2 hours during dinner time. We were too hungry for that, so we stopped at this location near the Midway Airport. When I say near the airport, that's an understatement. You can actually see the planes landing through the window looking to be only about a couple hundred feet above you. Kinda scary/cool. Anyway, back to the incredible food... We got here around 7:30pm and were seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly and brought our drinks out right away. We ordered our stuffed pizza and were told it was going to take about 30-35 minutes. In about that time, the pizza came out and he served up our plates. As I took my first bite, I knew that pizza would never be the same for me again..No other pizza could ever compare! Lol. There were 4 of us and the large fed us all with a slice or two left over. I tried the stuffed pizza with pepperoni and everything about it was heavenly. The crust on this pizza was flaky and light, which is different than any deep dish variety you can get out east which is normally dense. The inside of the pizza oozed unendingly with cheesy goodness. I can normally eat quite a few slices of pizza, but here I struggled through two. I won't even think about the potential calories so I'm glad I live far far away.
