Wow -- after living in the Summit area for years, I'm kicking myself for not coming to Danny's sooner. Service: Spectacular. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted and seated right away. Jason was my server and went above and beyond -- checking in throughout the meal, giving great wing flavor recs, and chatting at the end about what else they offer. Super kind and attentive! The rest of the staff were just as positive and friendly -- love to see that. Food: Everything was spot on. Wings and pizza during a Bears game? Perfect combo. The wings were flavorful, fresh, and had me wanting more. The tavern-style pizza was excellent -- especially the sauce. They also had a unique pizza of the month that I can't wait to try next time. Well another fantastic experience at Danny's. We are regulars and have shared this place with friends and family. We were planning a family get together for 12 and Chuck set us up perfectly so we could have one table and sit together. We called a few days ahead to reserve the spot. He really worked on it to get it done in spite of a party in the back area and World Cup matches to boot. We really appreciated his diligence and when we arrived we had a long table for 12 in the bar. We were also very fortunate to get Dorice as our server. She was wonderful, efficient and very attentive in spite of the crowd that day. And to top it all off the pizzas; wings, chips, tots etc were delicious as always. I had never ordered from here and it was my first time. They don't deliver to my area which is by Midway and so I ordered anyways saying I'd pick it up. Wasn't greeted when I stepped in to get my order. The people inside looked off and it gave me a wierd look. Not sure why - There were 3 girls working there and I asked for my pick up they had it ready but no thank you nor nothing. This place felt a bit off. The pizza was kinda cold and I Arrived 10 minutes before it was suppose to be ready And I like my pizza thin and it was nicely thin and crispy but still not as hot im as I'd like. I then looked up this place and it's history and realized why some were looking at me. Keep in mind I didn't see as many Latinos in here and now I know why. We went here yesterday at 1pm for our department outting[It was a total of 18 of us].Which recommended by my manager and coworker.We had used their back room area which was spacious.The host was awesome. I ordered the Sriracha pasta and although this didn't sound appetizing, I was curious. I was of course happy I tried something I normally wouldn't attempt to try. It had good flavor and it had a nice flavor, sweet though but still a good taste. The Sriracha was a little but spicy but tolerable and I still enjoyed dipping bread in the sauce. Although when I let my elderly mom have a few bites, she did state it was too spicy for her. I mean, I could see the tolerance for myself due to me liking spicy, but not for someone who doesn't like spicy, such as my mom., she was not so impressed. I do like the fact that Danny's is still dark and old school, as this gives it a sense of mystery. I can only imagine what Danny's was like more then 20 years ago. It must of been a hoot. The food is not bad at all, I've had pizza from here and fries, so I am familiar with that part of Danny's, but I never tried the pasta, until this last visit. I like it, I really really like it. Would I come here at least once a week? Probably not, but for a once in a while spot, of course I would. Its very welcoming and I like that, sort of like a mom and pop pizzeria in New York, but we have it here. The lady and I ordered the thin crust special, sausage green peppers and onions and man, the crust was perfect and toppings and cheese were delicious. Our waitress was welcoming and took the time to chat with us and go over all the drink specials (she prob could tell I was a newbie). They also have Yeungling beer so I had to try that on draft.
