If you go there do not order thin. This pizza's dough is not made on premises. This is a premade and precooked dough that they add ingredients on top, so it taste like a thick export soda cracker with tomato sauce and cheese. Awful awful. This was so bad that it left me intrigued. In a town where pizza is a local pride issue, the question is why sell this abomination. We spent almost $25. That would have bought us 2 much larger pies from Costco or 3 DiGiorno's that would tasted much much better. Had a really good experience tonight.Ordered from Beggar's pizza near my work so my coworkers and I could eat pizza on our lunch break.Tried calling 3 other locations first and it was nearly impossible to order from them.I was THIS CLOSE to just giving up on pizza places in the area.Mind you,I was at work actually WORKING trying to order a pizza all while trying to be productive and not trying to spend too much time on my phone.FINALLY I decided,"Ok.Im going to try ONE MORE TIME!!" So I called Beggar's pizza since I knew I really wanted pizza and so did my coworkers.Everything went soooo smoooooth and the girl on the phone told me ONE HOUR.So I said,"GREAT!!" The price I thought was a little high for an X-Large but I said OK.Because WE REALLY wanted pizza.I was so happy when the pizza arrived in less than an hour.Took like 45 minutes.And it looked AMAZING!!! We ordered it with sausage,pepperoni,mushrooms and jalapeños.And it was absolutely delicious!!!!! Ordered pizza for Friday Family night and it was great. Thin crust with sausage, cheese, onions, bellpepper, mushrooms and jalapeno. They really laid on the toppings my pizza was as thick as a sandwich. I was told pick up at 430 pizza wasnt ready until 445. Just had pizza delivered pizza and it is pretty lousy. Ordered medium sausage, onion,and green peppers cooked well but that didn't mean burn the crust which already tastes like cardboard. I'm hungry so I ate a few pieces. The rest will go in the garbage. Good money wasted. read more

We've been ordering from this location for years and tonight is the first time I'm truly disappointed. We ordered a pizza at 5 and it took a few minutes shy of two hours to arrive. I get it things happen but it wasn't until I opened the Bosco sticks which really got me. I vaguely remember there being 5 when we first started ordering then it was dropped to 4. I opened the box this evening to reveal 3 sticks. 3 and I'm assuming the price wasn't changed. I actually called and they said the Bosco sticks were packed by weight?!? I said I wasn't planning on calling to question/complain but the sticks got me. The young lady on the phone, while nice, only frustrated me more with the news of the weighed breadstick. Those love pizza HAVE to stop by one of these places . It had by far the best deep dish pizza I ever had. They had the store decorated in the holiday spirit and the customer service was excellent. We had started off with mushroom pizza bread( customizable appetizers from the get go??!!; I'm already pumped!) While we waited for the deep dish. The crust was not too doughy or garlicky and kept your mouth watering from the time we saw it to the time we finished the last bite. Then the grandaddy of them(deep dish pizza) all came out, and boy was it worth the 30 minute wait. Some might say it was a little too cheesy, but I feel that's just people trying to hate on a great pie. We had to pass on dessert because we were stuffed, but from the menu they had looked appealing enough. If you are in Oak Lawn, IL or in the chicago area in general I recommend trying one of these restaurants. read more

When a 7 year old says she doesn't care for the pizza, that's a pretty good indication of the quality. In addition to a very bad impersonation of Chicago pizza, the staff here is unbelievably rude. Being a Chicago native, eating pizza is almost a necessity if you want to consider yourself a True Chicagoan. When it comes to thin crust pizza, especially on the south side of Chicago it's hard to find many places better than Beggars pizza. Their motto is "We lay it on thick" and boy do they ever. The amount of toppings (especially the cheese) that they put on the pizza makes you feel like you ordered extra toppings. I'm a guy that loves to devour pizza and go for seconds and thirds but this loaded pizza makes it extremely difficult to do so without regretting overeating. It is so well known on the south side of Chicago that my high school sporting events buys the pizza in bulk in order to distribute to the fans during home games. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I have tried other things on the menu, the wings in particular and was not that impressed by the size or the taste. They do pizza and the do it VERY well. I have it as often as I can. read more

Un-freaking-believable Italian Beef. Seriously it is a hidden gem of Beggars. I mean yeah they did right naming the place after Pizza, it's delicious too but goddamn these beefs are always spicy and it's like they bake in the flavor to the bread before you even get there. Besides beef, Beggars has quality customer service. I was sitting at Beggars and this middle-aged woman asked her waiter to bring her back the sauce they would use on the pizza so she could try it and amazingly enough he did, and she was not laughed out of the restaurant! This is a pizza joint, not the Ritz, lady! And after all that she tells him it needs more sugar. SUGAR??? WHAT??? And the guy just takes it with a smile! What a pro. Please check this out. I knew I wanted pizza last night and really wanted to try a new local place. I realized I had never tried this Beggars location and it had great reviews. I have to say I was pretty impressed and this will definitely be a place I will order from again. I went with the stuffed pizza (cheese only). I prefer a sweet sauce and this wasn't really sweet but I still enjoyed it. They put just the right amount of sauce on top and it was loaded with cheese. All of the ingredients were high quality. The crust wasn't my favorite. That's the only area they lost me a little. It wasn't bad. I just think a few places in the area do it better (Milano's, Pizzeria Deepo). I also ordered the sausage and cheese fried ravioli appetizer. It caught my eye and I'm so glad I got it. It was delicious. Again, quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. This location has a few tables in a small dining room and appears to do mostly carry out and delivery. Service was alright for carry out. I'm not sure about the dining room though. read more

From a food perspective, its the same as the other Beggars franchises. I'm not a big Beggars pizza person, so my review also reflects how I feel about their pizza not just this establishment. Their pizza is too cheesy for my liking. But as far as the place itself, its a very small Beggars. Its a storefront and the inside only has 3-4 tables. So its ideal for pickup but if you are hosting a big party, you may want to try another location. Waitstaff was extremely nice and our order, which was large, came out in a timely manner. So again if you are a fan of Beggars and just want to pop in and pick something up quick, it's a good spot. read more

POOR POOR Service. Pizza was good, salad had frozen cucumbers, I asked for fresh cucumbers, I received three cucumbers in a cup, still partially frozen and water logged. I sent the salad back. Half of our table was served their food and one party came in after us, got their food, and left prior to us getting our pizza. We waited an additional 40 minutes if not more after our party was served. The manager never came out to our table. The server apologized. I think someone forgot our pizza. I've had Beggars on and off over the years. There was never a location close to me, so it was more if I was at someones house or we went to 159th & Cicero and ate in. Then this takeout location opened, and it still isn't that close to me, but worth driving to to get take out. They do have about 5 small tables, so you can eat in, but it seems more of a take out place. I've only ever had pizza from them - thin crust and deep dish. I love them both. They have the best cheese, the best sausage, the best sauce, and the best crust. I don't find them any more expensive than any other pizza place, with the exception of the hut, dominos, LC's - which you can't really call pizza anyway. Their toppings are plentiful, the cheeses is ooey-gooey-chewy, and the sauce is not sweet. I still have a local place that I go to down the block, but this place is worth the 5-mile drive for take out. read more

Beggar's is goooooood pizza. I try and limit the toppings to no more than two though. Their motto is "We lay it on thick", and believe me they stand behind this. There is no skimping on the ingredients. Their stuffed and deep dish pizzas should not be overlooked here either. Fantastic. Their other menu items are also commendable. We usually order some wings with our pizza, and I have no complaints. I have given Beggar's in Oak Lawn a lot of my money over the years, and do not foresee any change in that.
