Me and my husband placed an order to pizza by geneo's I got a small pizza and a Mostaccioli w meat sauce. The pizza was delicious but the pasta was not giving its was a zero no cheese over cooked meat and no seasonings my family of two did not eat it. I called the restaurant to tell them the concern I had for it and they told me I couldn't exchange it when we have the full container of it. Nor can we get the money back for our pasta we had received. The owner is name temo nerrez and he offered me 10% but we didn't want to buy something else we already had pizza and he wasn't working with us. To get another pizza or something that they knew taste good. I had mixed feelings when writing this review. The pizza I ordered was delicious. I had it delivered; I had to wait about an hour for it to be delivered to my hotel. It was in the evening on the night of the AFC final so the time was understandable. The cost is where I begin to have issues. A 12 inch meat lovers thin crust pizza is listed for $15.35. I can understand that the price of a pizza has increased thanks to 'Brandon" but when it arrived my bill said $25.75. I understand that there is a charge for delivery the ad says $4.00. So just the advertised price so far was $19.35 for a 12 inch meat lovers pizza; as I said before the total on my bill was $25.75 a difference of $6.40. Insert your pic of "Brandon" saying I did that. But the Icing on the cake was that I signed the bill and took my pizza and walked away and the delivery driver added another $3.78 onto the bill for a grand total of $29.53 for a 12 inch thin crust meat lovers pizza. I order pizza here all the time. The large looks like medium. So we usually order jumbo. So its big enough. The people who answer the phone are very rude. Now here's the part that messes me up. When I order. Pizza for pick it'll be ready in 30 minutes. But for delivery it takes 2 1/2 hours. For my cold pizza. After 2 hours I always have to call them and say ... Hey where's my pizza?!?! I live only 4 minutes away from this place and I placed an order it toke about 2 hours for me to receive the pizza. As well when I was giving my card information I had to repeat it over 5 times and the the address 3 times and still got the delivery address incorrect. Ive been ordering from this place my whole life. This is the only pizza spot I can never get tired eating from. When the pizza is well done it has no competition. Their sausage is better than most spots and their sauce is just right. It is not sweet and it will not overwhelm you and give you any heartburn. They should go back to including their 2 liter of RC with pizza orders like they used to before. Much like my opinion prior on another local pizza place, I'm going with the same concept when it comes to Geneo's, which is that you're looking at a 50/50 chance of getting something great or something just okay. However, where Geneo's excels is that you have a better chance of getting pretty good food as opposed to the occasional miss that always tends to strike local pizza places. The pizza here, when it's good, it's really great and it seems to be shifts over large spans of time where the pizza can be amazing every time and suddenly it's just okay. That said, this is my go to local place for delivery because the amount of food for the money you get is always worthwhile. However, when the failed soda tax came, the free 2 liters were lost in the shuffle and unfortunately never came back. Another perk, though this tends to be common with most local places is the "Collect 20 coupons for a free large pizza" perk that comes with each order. If you order from them like I do, this adds up pretty fast and before you know it you're dining for free that night (they'll deliver the free pizza if you pay the delivery.) Like I've stated before and probably will in what I'm thinking will be upcoming pizza place reviews, this is definitely worth ordering up, you have a good chance of getting a decent pizza as opposed to other places more often than not. read more

I'll start off by saying that I'm a little biased since this place is run by my family. It hasn't been at this location for 40 years but the place has been around for almost that long in different locations. They used to be over on Lawndale, I think. I can't remember, since I was a kid. Anyhow, I absolutely believe they have some of the best pizza out there. I've yet to find one that tastes as good as they make it. They also have TONS of other things from sandwiches to pasta to fish and chicken. If you need it, they've got it and it's all pretty darn tasty. Geneo's was originally owned by my grandparents, Bob and Charlotte. Then my dad, Bob, took over several years ago (he's worked there the entire history of the place). My dad died this last July and the place has been taken over by my grandparents again. If you're there, say hi to my grandmother. Everyone calls her Char or Chi (shy). She's a pistol but a lot of fun! And ask for some garlic bread with cheese "Jennifer style". She'll load it up with garlic butter and it's the BEST! read more

During a global pandemic, one of the dummy teenagers that they hire was not wearing a mask when we went to pick up. I read Jenn M.'s review and took it to heart. I have to say,Jenn lied to us. Geneo's is even better than she describes. A longtime staple for our softball team, somehow Geneo's drifted from us as the neighborhood changed and we moved to different parts of the city. I always assumed that is was sold, like most older places were, and then bastardized by the new owners. When I ordered this past week, I was pleasantly delighted.This is the pizza that Chicago was filled with in the 70's and the 80's. Incredible. Great toppings (plenty of choices), excellent crust, and sauce.....yum. If it is possible, it is even better than I remembered. Pizza that is made EXACTLY as you order, decent prices, and great delivery.While it may not be an epiphany, this is certainly a reliable,go-to pizza joint. In search of the best non meat pizza during this Lenten season. Could not find a menu anywhere online for this place. The only thing I found was a blurry picture that you can't read on yelp. Ordered a half cheese and half green pepper and onion. Found the cheese side to be better tasting then the onion and green pepper. Awesomest pizza near MDW. Next time I'm working nearby, I'm getting more. I went to Giordano's on the same trip, and it wasn't nearly as good. I had a deep dish with spinach, tomatoes and chicken. Now deep dish isn't my first choice, but I was with someone from California who had never had Chicago pizza, so there really was no choice. Still, it was pretty awesome. Next time I'll order with extra sauce. For me what makes Chicago pizza so much better than what I get in most other cities is the crust. That nice crunch it has right out of the oven someone how can't reproduced in my hometown Detroit. On a much earlier visit I made the mistake of bringing my prejudices with me. First off, I can eat a TON of pizza. If it's great, I can eat a few tons. They have to wheel barrow me out of the best pizza joints, and happily so. Problem was, I was thinking in terms of New Orleans, California, East Coast, etc. and these were geographically and volumetric-ally off by major margins. Order staff looked at me and my diminutive female guest and advised a small. I brushed her off like the rhino to the fly and ordered the large (congratulating myself for the moderation I showed by not ordering the extra large). A large came and I plowed gustily into my first slice, pausing 2/3 through as I realized it was only slice #1 and I was already suffering jaw fatigue. This tore a serious chunk out of my appetite all by itself. Meanwhile, the pizza was great - tasty, piquant, rich, thick, joyous, incredibly filling and so on. I approached slice number two with more caution, but not enough. The last half of slice #2 had more pain than joy and I had to stop eating like it was pizza. Further ingestion was clearly going to be a matter of pacing and pride rather than the ravenous devastation I was used to when the flavor and mood struck. By the time the third slice became a possibility I was sweating like a Saudi Prince and asking myself whether I had (gasp!) made a horrible error in judgment. I had. My twiggy guest had eaten almost half of one slice and I managed only a few bites into #3 before giving up and leaving a good 4 pieces untouched. I'm not sure whether the server's grin was an "I told you so" or a "Good, now we can feed homeless people all over the Midwest for another week" but whatever it was, she was right. I love this place! It's so yummy. The pizza is delicious I usually get a large for me and my brother and it feeds us just fine, we also get a pop with it. Who wouldn't enjoy a free pop with the purchase of a pizza? When I get together with my friends we order a party pizza and it feeds around 6-7 people but we also get an order of wings as well which I have to say are realllyyyy good. We do have to wait a little for delivery but we have never gotten cold food. It's quicker to just pick it up but it's up to you if you want to get it delivered it might take a while longer or if you want it ASAP then you're better off picking it up. read more

Well, I hate to give a bad review but this pizza did not live up to the reviews I read! The thin crust was very doughy and the pizza was dry. No flavor at all except in the sausage... which the sausage was delicious and fresh. I couldn't even taste the cheese because of the crust. I really felt bad for my hubby because he was coming off a fast. He wanted Dominos and I said NO let us get some "real" pizza. Needless to say should've got the Dominos because one thing they have is the buttery garlic flavor. We may try this place again. The worst place I've ever ordered from! I ordered for delivery and even that process was a nightmare, I can't imagine actually going to the place. Charlotte (the woman taking our order) was very rude to us and made a simple large pizza order excruciating. The pizza took over an hour and when it actually arrived the order was wrong. We had to wait another hour for them to actually send us the right pizza and we live down the street! Charlotte then was extremely rude to me when I called about getting the wrong pizza. I don't understand why they keep her taking the orders when she clearly can't do her job right and she has the WORST customer service skills. When we actually got the right pizza it was bland and not even worth the hassle. Save your time and money, and order from somewhere else. I hope Geneo's does themselves a favor and gets someone else to take orders. read more
