Super surprised this place wasn't very busy on a Sunday before Christmas with the airport right down the road. Our server was super quick and our food and drinks were hot. It's been awhile and I didn't remember Giordano's selling alcohol but damn that holiday fruit punch went down smooth. Also I've tried several of the deep dish pizzas but never the veggie. Honestly it might be my new go to. It was freaking delicious. My friend and I say and chatted while the pizza cooked so it was perfect for catching up.

First time in Chicago and we wanted to try deep dish pizza. Not really fans of this type of pizza but the environment was cool and service was quick before our flight. The location was nice for a bite to eat before the airport.

The server was great. He was upfront and brutally honest on how long it may take to get fresh pizza. It was worth the wait to try a Chicago style pizza. It definitely is nowhere near a New York style pizza. The crust was very different and baked so it could house all the toppings on the bottom cheese and then tomato sauce on top. The place was busy and cozy yet I felt comfortable because it was definitely a family style dining experience.

Had a wonderful time at Giordano's while in town with friends visiting from Pittsburgh and Omaha. We got the original or chicago style one and it was good! Great flavor, cooked perfectly, and just what we were looking for as tourists in Chicago. It did take a very long time to come out, but we knew that going into it before we even got to the restaurant. The server and other staff were all very patient with our rambunctious children (ages 3, 2, and 1) and made sure our drinks stayed full, cleared the table in a timely manner, and made sure our needs were met. Overall a great experience and glad we were able to give it a try!

Okay fine I'm a tourist eating at the edge of an airfield. But we people have to eat too. Get enough for a small planeful at Gio's. I was committed from building entry: all in on the carbs, you only eat stuffed once, 45 mins isn't so long to wait, tomorrow's run can just be longer, all the mind tricks. It helped me through the waiting period. First I'll start with the Italian Salad. True to form it includes meat. Good because I need meat while I wait for my meat. Somewhat limited draft selection, but see the earlier "airfield edge" comment and what did I expect? It could've been worse and their taps were all broken. But now I'm settled in for a long fall's wait, watching everybody else wolf down their giant portions and take home stacks of boxes. In Italy you'd never share a pie. You get yours and it's probably a good single portion. All you fake light-eater types would take half home like you weren't going to devour as soon as you walk in the door. But whoever invented the "Chicago Stuffed Deep Dish" had the opposite idea in mind: this is going to be so big it'll last a couple days. Finally the hour has arrived: I'm nervous, yet serene. My neighbor needles me on the way out the door in his Chicago accent: "you gonna finish dat?" I say "sure in a coupla days". In my not-Chicago accent. Next 45 mins: allegedly consuming half. Next 45, rest. Next 45 nightie-night. However not before I packed up that monstrosity for the next 48 hours. It seems those on a diet order the thin crust, however I also noticed they defeat the purpose by getting the large. So really it just means greater circumference instead of depth. The cheese inside is a little much. Not really people, just some pizza humor. Back in 1974 when they started this joint, I'm sure quick heart attacks were on nobody's mind. They still aren't here. I mean come on, has anybody actually had one while eating? That seems rare. And at least they could get the paramedics to pack up the to-go box for post-op. Beats jello. If I don't return it's just due to changing flight patterns. Otherwise I'll be back in that 45-minute holding pattern.

I placed online for large fry for $5.45 along w stuffed pizza. Requested plates cheese and crushed red pepper. Received none of that. The fries were cold and didn't even fill half the container. I took a picture because it definitely can not be the amount customers receive for almost $6. It's like they took some leftovers and threw them into a container. We will stick to Ciprianis in the neighborhood which is half the price, you get what you paid for and it's always hot!

In town to fly out of Midway and we had dinner here. We each had a salad, cheesy bread as an appetizer, and thin crust pizza with cheese, sausage, mushroom, onion and pepperoni. Everything was delicious and service was great.

Seriously? This is NOT thin crust tavern style pizza. 1/2 inch thick chewy crust, rubbery cheese? You should be ashamed. Dominoes or Little Caesars delivers better at 1/3 the price. Stay away!

not happy. I ordered one large deep dish spinach and mushroom pizza one small stuffed spinach and mushroom pizza and three orders of cannolis from the 63rd and Cicero location in Chicago and while the pizzas were okay a little watery from the spinach not being drained properly. the cannolis were absolutely horrible. what I receive were not cannolis they were cannolis bits that had been beaten to death with a filling as a possible dipping sauce. The filling is bland and grainy the bits taste like cardboard. Not the pastries wanted to use to celebrate my father on his 75th birthday. My dad has been sick and this is the one thing he asked for to celebrate and I am so disheartened at what I had to present to him.

Whenever I go to Chicago, I must have a slice of deep dish pizza from Giordano's. The first time I ever had it was about 12 years ago, and I was instantly hooked. Apparently, the locals don't even eat deep dish; It's more for the tourists. I'm a tourist and was in total tourist mode so I was happy that my first stop straight from the airport was Giordano's! We were able to preorder our pizza at the counter before being seated at a table. It takes 30 minutes to bake so it's helpful to preorder if you know what you want. We decided to do a medium build your own deep dish. Even though they were short staffed, the employees were so nice and patient as we ordered our pizza. We ordered some ingredients all over the pizza, and other ingredients (like mushrooms - gross) on half of the pizza. It was a little confusing, but the cashier was able to get it sorted out. We were seated at a table not long after preordering the pizza. Since they were short staffed, we had to wait for drinks, however our server, Armando greeted us when we sat down which I appreciated. He was running around like crazy serving tables, making drinks (they didn't have a bartender!), and basically holding it down. Drinks: We had wine and beer so it is what it is. I had a Stella and it was great with the pizza! Food: Giordano's House Salad - I loved the lemon vinaigrette dressing. This was definitely large enough to share. Calamari - I don't like calamari so I didn't have any, but my cousin and her husband enjoyed it. Deep Dish - It was just as good as I remembered it! The cheese is so gooey and delicious! The sauce was tasty, the meat was seasoned well. I don't even remember what all ingredients I had on my half (ground beef, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and something else that I'm forgetting). I ate one piece and was full and satisfied the rest of the evening. A medium was plenty for three people. We had leftovers that my aunt ate the next day. Armando did a great job. He took a long time to bring us water (we were almost done eating) but he apologized. He was working his butt off. He was so friendly and cool as a cucumber even though it was clear they were hustling to get to everyone. I know everyone has their favorite spot for pie in Chicago, but I am forever hooked to Giordano's. I can't wait to have it again the next time I visit!

Not that gray "airport medium" you usually get, but an actual proper medium rare. The meat was tender, well seasoned, and cooked evenly all the way through, and the bun held up without overpowering the burger. What really took this experience over the top, though, was the staff. Every single person was so kind and kept checking in, making sure everything was perfect. It almost felt weird how good the service was for an airport spot. Between the food and the hospitality, this was easily one of the best airport dining experiences I've ever had and honestly better than a lot of non-airport restaurants.

The food is packed with sodium and prepackaged but that's what's expected given the environment. The challenge is the staff doesn't wash their hands before preparing a drink or serving food after touching germy towels to wipe down the bar, workstation, utensils, their hair or clothing. Additionally the drink well is highly corroded and should be repaired or replaced. Based on that alone, I can only imagine the ice machine being full of mold and dirty water filters. I travel through this airport at least twice biweekly when traveling for business. This used to be my favorite spot. As of last week, I gave up on things changing. The employees have to see this mess and realize this is unhealthy for the patrons or anyone. I guess they don't believe in the "if you see something, say something" mentality. Or worst, management doesn't care. In either case it's a good time for health inspectors to surprise them with a good old visit! Until this is corrected and the area sanitized, steer clear.

Speaking of the juice that had a perfect amount of spice. I have to say this is one of my top Italian beefs that I've ever had.
