Re-rateing: I've been to this place dozens of times, I've brought customers/clients, family... I just can't say enough good stuff about this place. Just a great family style Italian place, and such a welcome break from the drama of the city. Certainly worth the trip. Everybody complains about "going all the way" to Brooklyn... but they always say it's worth it. Pasta/pizza fan-@!*%ing-tastic! As a chef, specializing in Italian cuisine, across multiple restaurants, this is the best Lobster Ravioli I've ever had. I get it a lot when I'm here. It wasn't on the menu this time and they made it for me anyway. Prices are fantastic, service -spot on. Stop what you're looking for... get on that R train .... And get yo @ss here. Staffs are friendly. Food was delicious! It gets busy. Really good Italian food and the place is pretty spacious. The bathroom is located downstairs. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

Love love love this restaurant! I wish I could uproot it to Carroll Gardens. Gino's keeps Italian tradition alive with Sunday afternoon dinner. Their space is huge and always jam packed! With every visit (though not as frequently as I'd like), it's always crowded with people waiting for a table. We're talking about 3 PM on a Sunday! Service is attentive, staff is courteous and offer recommendations. And the food? Well it's just excellent. If you enjoy delicious and genuine Italian food echoing Old School tradition, pay them a visit. I'm never disappointed everytime I visit. So good.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night, and good thing we made reservations because it was pretty crowded. We rode the metro, but it seemed like there was an interesting valet parking situation going on right outside the restaurant. When you walk in, they have pizza slices for sale, which I ended up ordering as my meal. They don't have the pizzas on the menu, so take note of the flavors they have when entering. I got a slice of the eggplant pizza. The crust was crispy and overall a solid slice of pizza. We also ordered the rigatoni with sausage and eggplant. Noodle texture was good and flavorful. Inside felt clean but somewhat cramped. Overall, good Italian food with friendly service!

This is a place I come with my family and in laws for dinner to celebrate events or just for a nice dinner out. The restaurant has the pizzeria in center at the front and the rest of the place has a lot of seating for groups in the back along with a bar. The staff is nice and helpful and gives great service. I had the grilled salmon with spinach and it's grilled to near perfection and melts in your mouth. Splash it with the lemon slice to give some tart to the flavor of the salmon. This is a neighborhood restaurant that while fantastic is not a destination location, but one that is you go when in Bay Ridge. Go here for the extensive dinner menu and enjoy some good food

I was in the area and craving pasta, so I decided to check out this restaurant. I started with the fried calamari appetizer, and it was hot and crispy. I like how it's not very salty. Then I got the linguine with clam sauce and veal medallion. It tasted very good. I like the sauce on the linguine pasta. For dessert, I ordered chocolate mousse and Spumoni with 3 scoops: vanilla, pistachio, and chocolate. This place is super popular so definitely make reservations if you're planning to go. The food took a while to arrive, but it was all worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and would totally come back to try different food here.

Appetizer spread for the table (hot antipasto, baked clams and fried zucchini) with Cabernet wine and prosecco.

If you are looking for the best Italian restaurant in town, then Gino's is the best of Bay Ridge! I have been going to Gino's for years with my family (parents and grandparents) and it is seriously the greatest of all time! Gino's is the diamond of Fifth Avenue - it is so classy and an authentic family-oriented restaurant that has served countless customers, who also absolutely love dining at this fine establishment. It was also recently renovated and over the years expanded the space and has a private party space and additional seating in a gorgeous enclosed outdoor garden area. Just getting started...how can I ever begin to encapsulate the amazingness of Gino's? Okay, so when you walk through the doors, you will smell the fresh oven baked pizza that is so hot and bubbly. Gino's is usually pretty busy and crowded because it is so popular, but they are extremely quick and accommodating with seating guests at tables. They are on time with reservations and also with customers who walk in to eat. While you wait, you can grab a quick drink at the bar. Also, you will be warmly greeted by the host/hostess, who will take you to your table. While walking through the restaurant, you will also be enthusiastically welcomed by the wait staff, who instantly make you feel like you're returning home to have a beautifully cooked meal. Now onto the food. Who can ever say that they basically had every single item on the menu and countless times each? Yes, that is how often we have dined at Gino's and it is truly the neighborhood gem. We have heavily counted on Gino's for times that we didn't have any energy to cook after work or during the weekend. They have always been there for us through thick and thin and have been consistently good throughout the years. For the appetizers, we usually order a few spreads for the table. Baked clams oreganata (eight clams stuffed with garlicky breadcrumbs and baked in white wine and butter), hot antipasto (Baked Clams, Shrimp Oreganata, Fried Calamari and Eggplant Rollatini), Zuppa Di Mussels (mussel soup with either white wine or red sauce broth and garlic), mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini paired with marinara sauce dip or margherita pizza pie. For the entrees, we order our classics of chicken cutlet parm, shrimp oreganata with linguine, orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, fillet of sole (broiled oreganata) that is served with a side of your choice. Cooked to absolute perfection time after time. Compliments to the chef! I would highly suggest taking a look at their weekly special offerings. Oh and add in a glass of red or white wine for the perfect finishing touch. For dessert, we usually get the classic cheesecake, black and white chocolate mousse, spumonis, tortoni and affogato. We also get coffee and cappuccino. Gino's also offers catering services for Christmas and the holidays, so we have ordered trays of food in the past that have lasted us a week worth of meals. We would get the baked clams, stuffed shells, shrimp cocktail, shrimp oreganata, penne vodka, sausage and peppers, and chicken cutlet parmigiana. They would add in fresh bread and extra sauces. Biggest shoutouts to Elvis, Eddie and Nick, who have been the BEST waiters. They are so sweet and their energy, attentiveness, and customer service is unmatched and unparalleled! We are singing the highest praises about you and how you always treat us so well. You are so appreciated beyond anything that can ever be expressed and we are so grateful and thankful to have you in our lives for decades and counting! We are so excited to return again to Gino's. We are customers for life and I am sure that you will be also.

    Grilled salmon with spinach

I enjoy dining at your restaurant but tonight I'm on the way home from PA and decided to place an order for pickup. And when I got home this grilled salmon with spinach was a pathetic dish coming out of your kitchen. My wife ordered an eggplant roll and that didn't disappoint her. But this salmon and some spinach...wtf!

Gino's is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Brooklyn. But I have to say I feel things are changing. I have ordered this hot antipasto before and there was a much bigger portion that what I have pictured. There was one piece of eggplant rolatini, 2 baked clams & 2 shrimps. The fried calamari wasn't a lot either. I feel it's ridiculous to offer so little on the antipasto. Even the shrimp cocktail had 4 shrimps, I feel 6 would have been worth it. I understand that prices are increasing but the portions should be worth the money. Just my personal opinion. But as always I LOVE the penne vodka and I get it with peas and fried chicken cutlet. Absolutely delicious it's the best vodka sauce in bay ridge. I still love this restaurant very much the food is phenomenal.

Do you guys have private rooms? If so do you charge for it?

Yes, we have private rooms available. They start at a minimum of 20 adults and our largest room holds up to 80 guests. It would have to be a set menu. Our menu options can be found on our website ginosbayridge.com

Do you have gluten free pasta?

    Yes, we do.

    Are reservations required?

    Not required, but recommended.

    Can you make reservations?

    Yes, you can!

Do they have catering size portion?

    No they do not.

Is it kid-friendly? Could we bring our baby girl?

Of course bring the whole family lol

Is this place allergy friendly? I have a family member with multiple sensitivities to foods such as eggs, seafood, nuts, seeds, and lime/lemon. Would there be other options to choose from?

There are definitely options that don't feature these things (like maybe a grilled vs breaded chicken parmesan or a grilled steak), but I'd recommend calling up the restaurant directly to confirm if they can ensure no cross-contimationation between… Read more

We started with two perfect oysters which had ikura, ramps, Thai chili oil and coriander flowers. Then sugar snap peas cooked perfectly with a hint of sesame - oil some special kind. But the superstar starter was the leek custard, with a mound of Osetra caviar atop a little dot of wasabi sprinkled with Alyssum flowers. $55 but worth it! Then we moved on to the seafood risotto which was the most toothsome risotto made with Japanese rice - seafood broth - and a mound of fresh red shrimp, razor clams, scallops hint of chili and a bit of mint. Perfection The charred white asparagus with sable fish with Shiro miso and green garlic was a complete surprise - delicious. Another superstar was the soft egg sitting in a sea of blue crab meat - in a brown butter garam salt bath. Served with a crusty baguette that we used to lap up all the amazingly tasty sauce. Unique - unsurpassed in flavor. We ending the savory courses with a lovely steelhead trout surrounded by thinly sliced fresh asparagus and fava beans with this basil and almond. Despite eating every last drop we made room for strawberry rhubarb pavlova. So well prepared. Little bits of crunchy raw rhubarb and nuts added a nice contrast to this often soft dessert. The wines are incredible and we had a Portuguese blend with a Cortes to cema (sp?) Service was beyond excellent. Friendly professional and even fun. Wine knowledge is first class. Hip and cool. The room is small. Getting a reservation is better than winning the lottery but just as challenging ! We love this place!

The atmosphere was super intimate and cozy, and the service was paced really well throughout the night. Some of the dishes definitely could've had a little more flavor or seasoning, especially compared to how hyped up the restaurant is, but there were still a few standout plates that made the meal memorable. My favorites were the clams, the tuna, and the rice dish, all three were so simple but done really well. The tuna especially tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, and the clams had such a light, clean flavor that worked perfectly with the wine. You can tell this is one of those places focused on quality ingredients and a more understated approach to food rather than overly heavy flavors. Overall, really glad we went and it's definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you love sharing plates and trying a bunch of different dishes throughout the night.
