    Papparadelle special
    Amanda J.

After a fun Dyker Heights holiday excursion, we were looking for a hot meal and place to warm our toes. As it was a holiday (Jan 1st), I called ahead to check the hours. The friendly hostess said that the'd be open for another two hours (8pm closing). When I said, "we'll be right over". She said, "Excellent! We will see you soon!" Parking was much easier than we had experienced in Bay Ridge. The entrance was just around the corner from where we parked. Set against a beige background in a classic script lettering is the name Annabelle's. A lower brown awning adds a touch of mystique as you enter the vestibule. The low lighting, exposed brick, and rich brown trim add to the cozy vibes of Annabelle's. The feeling was festive and we were allowed to choose whatever table we wanted. There were about 5 other occupied tables, most appearing halfway through their meals. There are single room, very clean bathrooms at the back of the restaurant with a large sink and adorable old fashioned chain flushing mechanism. As soon as we sat down, we were provided a large basket with an entire loaf of crunchy Italian bread. The waiter offered us the main menu, the specials menu, and the drinks menu. Immediately we were all fixed to at least one or two of the items on the specials menu. I had to order the bruschetta. This came on the same Italian bread, but richly toasted with olive oil and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. This was also topped with a shaved Parmesan cheese. I loved this! As I reviewed the main menu, I found something more unique, and it nearly matched the pumpkin ravioli. Instead of my initial choice, I went with the pear ravioli from the everyday menu. It was served in a warm brown butter sage sauce with butter roasted walnuts. The raviolis had a mixture of mascarpone, ricotta, and reggiano cheese. The fresh pear was subtle and not overtly sweet. I would recommend this if you want to try something slightly different. The toasted walnuts were the best part of the dish and made it the most memorable. The angel shrimp was served in a light pink cream sauce with jumbo shrimp. The waiter provided an extra plate for the casings. This was a generous portion, that was so good, my friend could barely put her fork down. The special menu offered a pappardelle which came in a light clear sauce with roasted tomatoes, shredded basil, and capers. This was a large enough dish for my other friend to take home with some of our extra crispy bread. We didn't have space for dessert, but the cappuccino was served with an abundance of cinnamon, just as I happily expected. All of the staff were friendly and our orders came out very quickly. It was clear that they have an efficient kitchen, capable of handling crowds. And yet, the staff is patient enough to offer you suggestions and share their preferences. I was so happily surprised with Annabelle's and hope I find myself back here again!

Annabelle's is a really delicious Italian restaurant located in Brooklyn. Walking in here feels like you've come to grandmas house for a comforting meal. *AMBIANCE* The restaurant is really nice and cozy and conveniently located near the Dyker Heights Christmas lights area. We got there right before 7pm and was able to walk in, but the restaurant was quickly filled to the brim thereafter. *FOOD* I really love how their pastas are made in house. You could really taste the difference! We ordered a few dishes including: -Buffalo Wings: These were nice and crispy on the exterior and had a juicy center. Comes with a side of celery, carrot sticks and blue cheese. -Angel Shrimp: Highly recommend this! The pasta was al dente and the cream sauce was perfection. Our entrees also came with complimentary bread. *SERVICE* Service was on the slower side and felt inattentive at times. They were really busy, which is understandable and catering to much larger parties during the evening. Overall, highly recommend coming here for the food if you're in Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights!

Take out, disappointed with order. Pizza was very thin not as pictured. Crackery, tho tasty with good cheese. Casareece nice pasta, too bad the broccolini tasted like it was marinated in fishy detergent. Ruined the entire dish. Would not recommend.

Pasta in a pool of salty sauce

Ok so I really really wanted to like this place. Waitress was inattentive and seriously treated me like I wasn't even there. Never once coming to ask me how the food was? If I needed anything? Etc... fine I suppose if they were super busy, they weren't. I also requested to please make sure that the pasta wasn't drowning in sauce, if it's a good sauce it doesn't need to overtake the homemade pasta. Suffice to say I got pasta in a swimming pool of sauce. Speaking of which, wayyyyyyyy too much salt in the sauce. No bs, the saltiest sauce I've ever had. The meal I ordered was the "Sunday gravy". The meats were ok at best. The desert was blueberry panicotti. Tasted like silly Puddy with literally no blueberries. Very very disappointed in the entire meal. And even more so in the non existent service.

Love this spot! The best homemade pasta I've had in BayRidge, Brooklyn. They have some great appetizers like fried calamari, sausage/broccoli rabe/risotto spring rolls, and mozzarella triangles. They serve All of your favorite Italian sandwiches, and pizza. My favorite dishes are the Spaghetti w shrimp, the chicken Italiano and the shrimp parmigiana. I have tried a little of everything on the menu and have enjoyed every meal. It's a nice small place to have a quiet dinner. Delivery is fast and the food arrives nice & hot! Service is great, food is delicious and even the desserts are worth trying. Especially the tiramisu..I've tried the strawberry and original and loved them both!

Whenever we head over to look at the Christmas lights in Dyker heights, we always stop in Annabella's. This is a nice family restaurant on the main road after getting off the belt Pkwy for anyone not in the area. I had the Eggplant Parmigian with a Ceasar salad both were very good and a nice bottle of Malbec made for a nice evening. My lady enjoy the shrimp fra Diablo also delicious.

Great food, the waiter goes very fast but they are very good, if you have gluten sensitive friends and family this is the place to go.

That alone signals someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing. I tried the Rigatoni Sunday Sauce -- rigatoni tossed in a bright, tomato-forward sauce with sliced sausage, eggplant, a meatball, and a cheesy breadstick -- and it mostly delivered. The sauce is lively and fresh-tasting, clearly "today's sauce" rather than something resurrected from yesterday's pot. Tomatoes sing, the acidity is balanced, and the simmered depth is there without feeling overworked. It could have used a whisper more salt for punch, but that's an easy fix at the table with Pecorino Romano; I added some at home and it snapped into perfect focus. The meatball was flavorful but a touch dry -- breadcrumbs are doing the structural work, and a milk-soaked stale bread technique would have kept it juicier without losing character. Sausage and eggplant were solid partners, and the cheesy breadstick was dangerously good (eat it slowly unless you want to be judged by your tablemates). If I could award half stars, this gets a 4.5. Smart execution, honest flavors, and a few small technical tweaks away from greatness. Highly recommend giving them a try -- especially if you, like me, believe that pasta should arrive ready to eat, not ready for a culinary trust exercise.
