After a fun Dyker Heights holiday excursion, we were looking for a hot meal and place to warm our toes. As it was a holiday (Jan 1st), I called ahead to check the hours. The friendly hostess said that the'd be open for another two hours (8pm closing). When I said, "we'll be right over". She said, "Excellent! We will see you soon!" Parking was much easier than we had experienced in Bay Ridge. The entrance was just around the corner from where we parked. Set against a beige background in a classic script lettering is the name Annabelle's. A lower brown awning adds a touch of mystique as you enter the vestibule. The low lighting, exposed brick, and rich brown trim add to the cozy vibes of Annabelle's. The feeling was festive and we were allowed to choose whatever table we wanted. There were about 5 other occupied tables, most appearing halfway through their meals. There are single room, very clean bathrooms at the back of the restaurant with a large sink and adorable old fashioned chain flushing mechanism. As soon as we sat down, we were provided a large basket with an entire loaf of crunchy Italian bread. The waiter offered us the main menu, the specials menu, and the drinks menu. Immediately we were all fixed to at least one or two of the items on the specials menu. I had to order the bruschetta. This came on the same Italian bread, but richly toasted with olive oil and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. This was also topped with a shaved Parmesan cheese. I loved this! As I reviewed the main menu, I found something more unique, and it nearly matched the pumpkin ravioli. Instead of my initial choice, I went with the pear ravioli from the everyday menu. It was served in a warm brown butter sage sauce with butter roasted walnuts. The raviolis had a mixture of mascarpone, ricotta, and reggiano cheese. The fresh pear was subtle and not overtly sweet. I would recommend this if you want to try something slightly different. The toasted walnuts were the best part of the dish and made it the most memorable. The angel shrimp was served in a light pink cream sauce with jumbo shrimp. The waiter provided an extra plate for the casings. This was a generous portion, that was so good, my friend could barely put her fork down. The special menu offered a pappardelle which came in a light clear sauce with roasted tomatoes, shredded basil, and capers. This was a large enough dish for my other friend to take home with some of our extra crispy bread. We didn't have space for dessert, but the cappuccino was served with an abundance of cinnamon, just as I happily expected. All of the staff were friendly and our orders came out very quickly. It was clear that they have an efficient kitchen, capable of handling crowds. And yet, the staff is patient enough to offer you suggestions and share their preferences. Walking in here feels like you've come to grandmas house for a comforting meal. *AMBIANCE* The restaurant is really nice and cozy and conveniently located near the Dyker Heights Christmas lights area. We got there right before 7pm and was able to walk in, but the restaurant was quickly filled to the brim thereafter. *FOOD* I really love how their pastas are made in house. You could really taste the difference! We ordered a few dishes including: -Buffalo Wings: These were nice and crispy on the exterior and had a juicy center. Comes with a side of celery, carrot sticks and blue cheese. -Angel Shrimp: Highly recommend this! The pasta was al dente and the cream sauce was perfection. Our entrees also came with complimentary bread. *SERVICE* Service was on the slower side and felt inattentive at times. They were really busy, which is understandable and catering to much larger parties during the evening. Recently came here for a double date with friends of ours to meet up after they visited the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights in the neighborhood. It's been some time since coming here during the Christmas season, I was pretty excited to experience the overall vibe and of course, see if the food is just as good as it usually is. For this time of year, we were proactive and made reservations at 8PM for us four, and we only had to wait a few minutes for them to finish setting up when we arrived. This place was JAM city! Every table was festive; laughter filled the space, and the smells coming from the kitchen called to my empty stomach. We were seated in the back at a round table, and got right to reviewing the specials for the evening and drinks. We all got their sangria (red) and it was delicious! Not too sweet and not just straight wine. Generous glasses were poured, and we immediately fell into exploring the menu. Me personally, always get the Angel Shrimp pasta, because it is always so delicious and they are generous with the pasta to shrimp ratio. Our friends got the bolognese pasta, and the chicken parm, but vodka style - which to me was absolutely genius! My husband got the Tagliatelle Maria which is a light cream sauce pasta with a splash of vodka, prosciutto, and sundried tomatoes. Not only are all their pastas made in house, but they aren't heavy belly bombs; they are light and have great texture. This is a nice family restaurant on the main road after getting off the belt Pkwy for anyone not in the area. Annabelle's has been on my list for a while and I was finally able to try it this past weekend. For apps we shared some table bread and brussels sprouts which were perfected roasted and crispy. My only note is about the butter which tasted old like it had been cut and stored in the fridge for a while. I opted for olive oil and balsamic after i tasted the butter. For my main, I ordered the tagliatelle maria which was absolutely fantastic. There was barely any prosciutto in the dish, however, I don't think it needed it anyhow. My companion ordered the chicken martini and a side of penne vodka which was delivered as well. I was a fan of Annabelle's former "Bella Luna" and I'm happy to say the quality hasn't been sacrificed at all. The apps we tried were spot on (fried calamari, fried zucchini). My chicken parm was SO good (and that means a lot coming from someone who makes it homemade at least once a week). Their wines by the glass are somewhat limited, but the Merlot I ordered was decent. I've ordered off of Uber Eats from here a couple of times before I realized how high the service fee was (over $5) so I decided to call and order directly instead. He asked if I was a new customer and where I was located and I said Dyker Heights. He went on a tangent saying it was too far without even letting me give him the address! I offered and he kept saying it was too far anyway. I said it was only a 4-5 minute bike ride and he put me on a 10 minute hold and then hung up on me and never called back (he had my phone number). I really loved their ceasar salad so I decided to order from Uber Eats again. Previously I got the ceasar and the penne vodka. I love both. Those 2 dishes are great. But this time I got chicken parm and it was gross. It's not fried chicken, it's battered and it was extremely soggy. My fiancé got a sandwich and everything including the bread was soggy. As much as I like their ceasar salad and penne vodka, in a neighborhood with 12,000 other Italian restaurants, I can probably find somewhere better food and better customer service somewhere else. read more

The nice lady who greeted & seated us, gave my daughter a Hi-chair for her dolls which was super nice. I decided to give a different dish a try this time around - Frutti di Mare which is Clams, shrimp, & calamari, served in a spicy tomato sauce which sounded better than it tasted.
