Last night, my friend and I tried Gigi for the first time for dinner! Definitely super busy on a Saturday night so I highly recommend making reservations. They have indoor seating & outdoor "patio" seating. We started off the meal with drinks! We ordered the limoncello spritz & the pistachio martini. The limoncello spritz tasted refreshing & like a sparkling lemon/limeade with a hint of honey. The pistachio martini was very creamy & tasted sweeter at the end of each sip. We shared two appetizers: the arancini and the calamari fritti. We LOVE calamari & always end up ordering it at every restaurant we visit that has it on their menu. We liked the presentation but wished that the calamari was crispier. The batter is thicker + unseasoned & was fried lightly. The two sauces definitely helped here. We enjoyed the arancini much more than the calamari, though that's not to say the calamari was bad haha. The arancini was just a better bite! I loved that they were crispy, cheesy, + quite flavorful. I highly recommend getting the arancini appetizer. As for entrees, we each ordered a pasta. We did the rigatoni alla vodka & chitarra alla vongole. I'm a big fan of white wine pastas with clams & have to say this one was GOOD! Very flavorful actually, while still tasting light. The sauce had a smokey garlic flavor that I really liked! They gave a lot of clams too, so I was pretty happy with my choice in ordering this dish. The rigatoni alla vodka is perhaps their most popular dish and what our server suggested instead of getting the bolognese. We thought it was just okay. It doesn't come with any protein, just pasta + sauce but it wasn't memorable. I'd say, maybe try the other pasta dishes they have before getting the rigatoni alla vodka. Overall, it wasn't a great meal! The highlights for me were the arancini and the chitarra alla vongole. I think I would come back again to try more dishes & although service was a bit slower (with how busy it was), our server was kind & helpful! Prices were on par with other Italian restaurants in/out of the city. Parking: street parking
This place is fantastic! We highly recommend making a reservation, as it's a small restaurant and fills up quickly. We stopped in on a Saturday around 5 PM and were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar. The wine selection is outstanding, with plenty of great options to choose from. We ordered the veal, which was enormous and easily large enough to share. We also tried both the truffle pasta and the vodka pasta, with the vodka pasta being our favorite. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the pricing felt very reasonable for the area. A wonderful experience overall! I would definitely return and highly recommend it.
Was looking for an Italian restaurant on a Friday night in Boston that did not require reservations and thankfully, Gigi was one of the few spots that was accepting walk-ins. We came around 7pm and were able to get a table inside! Restaurant is perfect for a girl's night and/or casual date. We ordered the Involtini di Melanzane to share, and then I got the Rigatoni alla Vodka with a Strawberry Mocktail and my friends ordered the Carbonara, Gnocchi alla Sorentina Mottacchione, and Pistachio Martini. They also served complimentary bread while waiting. The strawberry mocktail was not listed on the menu, but I appreciate how the restaurant accommodated! It was like a sweet, fizzy strawberry soda and I would order it again. I liked how all the dishes were all cheese and sauce forward. Simple flavors - would have liked a little more seasoning but everything was tasty. However, I felt that for the price, the portion sizes were a bit small (Rigatoni alla Vodka was $28). Overall, decent food, excellent service, and charming interior. If you are looking for a solid Italian dinner without having to deal with the nightmare that is getting a dinner reservation in Boston, then would recommend!
Wow I can not say enough good things about Gigi's. First off, the rigatonia alla vodka is one of my absolute favorites in the city, it is so creamy and saucy!! I got a Hugo spritz for a cocktail which was also very tasty. The ambiance is nice the restaurant is pretty small and usually busy so reservations are a good idea. What sets the restaurant apart for me is the service, our waiter was phenomenal and the manager here is truly an angel. Incredibly kind and helpful. I'm dreaming about going back for more vodka pasta
Came here with my husband for a date night before the marathon. Reservations are much needed so I wouldnt bet on walking in. Mattie - I hope I got his name right. Was the host and was very nice! He made a window seat happen for us and I really appreciated it. The service was great, quick and everyone was really nice. We started with the carpaccio which was delicious and we both got pasta dishes. The portions are perfect - just enough food. The souffle dessert was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot!
Gigi is a solid Italian Spot in Boston. Booking a reservation was easy & highly recommended. It was pretty easy to get a table on Resy the day before our reservation. The only qualm I had about Gigi was how slow the service was. We waited at the door for a server for 10+ mins despite arriving on time. Dish wait times were also long, but honestly worth for the quality. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious! My favorite was their Chicken Parm which came with a side of rigatoni. Truly Pollo Perfection. Their Limoncello Spritz was very strong and fruity. Their tiramisu didn't disappoint. It was so decadent and generously infused with espresso - the perfect finish to a great meal. If the service was more attentive I would definitely consider it to be a near perfect experience.
The food and service was absolutely divine! Andres, our waiter, asked why we're in Boston. Birthday Bucket list trip. We had just rolled in from an amazing 24 hours on Nantucket. It was 10 pm, they closed at 1130
I love this restaurant for everything it is. Fresh food, small intimate dining space, and consistently delicious meals at affordable prices. On my most recent visit, I was devastated to learn that the octopus salad was no more. It was the best salad, perfect and balanced in every way. Service was spot on as one would expect. I look forward to returning.
7/5/26: I stopped by Gigi for lunch around 1 PM on a Sunday, and surprisingly the restaurant was almost empty. My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant for authentic Italian! My colleague and I found this place through Yelp while attending a conference in mid-November 2025. Be sure make an online reservation in advance. On a Thursday evening, I was lucky to secure a 5:30pm table for two. Lots of pluses. First, the ambience of Gigi is cozy and quaint. Second, the service was outstanding as David came to fill our water glasses and check-in to make sure everything was OK. Third, the branzino was a delicious main course. My colleague enjoyed his chicken parm dish. But the highlight was the tiramisu dessert (which was a culinary gem). Do NOT skip the tiramisu - it's a superb way to end the meal. It's a little expensive, but given the high quality of dishes and service, I think it's good value. Also, because it's cozy, I would recommend this place for a small party of 2-4 people. Look forward to visiting this restaurant again if I'm near the Hynes Convention Center.
Rating: 3.6 Service: 5 Food: 4 the short rib risotto was really good, as well as the arancini! we also got the rigatoni alla vodka because it seems to be the dish people rave about here but I honestly wasn't impressed at all. I've had better at Teresa's in Middleton. I expected more flavor to the sauce but it was just bland and pretty disappointing. Noodles were cooked perfectly and every dish came out piping hot which was nice. Loved our server too, he was very attentive but not disruptive. Overall would come back, just not for the rigatoni alla vodka. Also just a note it's a pretty tight space for seating and gets very busy on the weekend so make sure to make reservations!
The wait staff here is excellent! Super polite, attentive and professional. The Caesar salad was excellent but you should know it's served with avocado in it. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it came with a side of rigatoni. Unfortunately, the sauce was incredibly bitter and the noodles were rubbery so I ended up sending my dish back. The staff was apologetic and offered me a substitution but I declined. My husband had the lemon chicken and rated it a 3/5. He also had Tiramisu and rated it a 4/5. This is a small restaurant, well decorated with a nice vibe perfect for date night or special occasions. Make reservations if you decide to try it out.
Was in town for a conference and really wanted pasta. I looked on Yelp and TikTok and GiGis popped up. It was only a 6 min walk from my hotel so I decided to give it a try. I arrived around 7:45 and was alone. I was told it was an hour wait. I regret not making the 8pm reservation that I saw was available. But nonetheless I decided to wait. After about 30 mins of waiting outside they offered me an outdoor table but I wanted to sit indoors. About 40 mins of waiting a seat at the bar opened up and they let me know and i sat there. I really wanted the lobster pasta I saw pictured about 5 months ago on Yelp but that was no longer on the menu so the bartender recommended the risotto al manzo(beef short rib risotto). It was really good. I usually don't finish all my food but I cleaned the plate! I will say the restaurant is TINY but it has a nice esthetic. You're definitely going to want to make reservations.
I came for a late dinner and restaurant was not packed with most groups fishing up and leaving. Parking was still pretty bad with only street parking in the residential areas around which required a permit for some streets. I was well attended to. Staff were amazing and service was quick. 8.5/10 Rigatoni alla Vodka $26 - Pasta was slightly undercooked as the rigatoni was still a bit doughy and not al dente. The sauce was amazing in flavor, creamy, but not heavy at all and coated the pasta well. I let the pasta sit bit to keep cooking. I wish this option came with meat option. 8/10 Brocollini $12 - Cooked perfectly. Well seasoned and charred topped with Parmesan. Portion is slightly underwhelming. 8/10 Cozze (mussels) $16 - Mussels were cooked well and came out hot and steaming. Quality was fresh and flavors were good. It was light and had a bit of sour from the juices which complimented the pasta. read more

If 3.5 stars was an option that is what I would give. To start, the food we ordered was delicious. The Caesar salad, meatballs, broccolini and vodka sauce pasta (gluten free) were all solid and came out quickly. The decor and vibe is cute and cozy, however the tables are SO close together and it felt like you could hear every group's conversation. The service was definitely not the friendliest, and could have been much better in my opinion. Overall, a yummy dinner but not a 10/10 experience. read more

Went here on a whim, and so glad we did. Walked in to ask for a table for 3, no resy. The wonderful hostess said it would be 45 mins/ an hour, put are names down and went for a walk. 12 mins later table was ready. Our waitress Ashley was so sweet and attentive. She's basically family now. The food was so delicious. The vibe of the place is super cute. Can't wait to go again. read more
A great place for a romantic, intimate date night or a girls night out. We started off with the Etna Manhattan and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Our server was attentive and both drinks came out promptly after ordering. For food, we had the Calamari Fritti and Cozze (mussels). Both were good and the calamari was particularly light and crisp, but the mussels were a standout. The kick of habanero in the white wine, tomato sauce made for the perfect dipping sauce with the accompanying bread. Our entrees took quite a while to come out, but were well worth the wait. The Rigatoni alla Vodka was perfectly al dente and creamy without being heavy, and the Risotto al Manzo was soft and wonderfully savory. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. Don't be fooled by the sloppy presentation. It was actually the best tasting tiramisu we've had in Boston! Sweet and saturated while maintaining an impressive structural integrity. Make sure to book a reservation (released two days in advance) as they're a small restaurant and fill up quickly. Can't wait to come back. read more
Gigi delivers solid Italian food with perfectly al dente pasta and well-balanced sauces. The tuna tartare was just okay, but the Hugo Spritz was refreshing and well-made. Service was also great, making for an overall enjoyable experience! read more
I went here for late night dinner and loved it! The ambiance was nice and our server was great as well. Their kitchen stays open until 10pm which was really nice for a Tuesday. I had no trouble getting a walk in table for 4 around 9pm. I got the swordfish and I really liked it. The sauce was very flavorful and the fish was cooked very well. One of my friends got the vodka pasta and just by trying a bite I could tell it was incredible. This experience left me wanting more, I'll have to return back in the future! read more

My lady and I went to Gigi's on a Friday night for a drink and dinner. Reservations online are taken almost immediately for the weekend, so we went early to get a spot at the bar or a table if one opened up. We were able to get seats at the bar after waiting for around 45 minutes (got drinks at the bar while we waited). We had a good time talking to the bartender (who you could tell enjoys what he does) and he made some good cocktails. We had a high bar going there with the food, and we were not dissapointed. I had the spaghetti shrimp and it was one of the best seafood pasta dishes I've had. A great spot with nice, intimate vibes - we'll be going back!! read more
Leo was the best server, he was so kind and attentive. These were such fabulous meals, and the best way to celebrate our anniversary. The drinks were delicious. We sat outside on the patio, despite being a bit chilly. The patio space was beautiful, and the inside was so vibey and well designed. read more

The staff were so great and attentive. Our waitress in particular was very sweet. The rigatoni was on not al dente in my opinion and just needed a little longer to cook. The pasta was pretty hard. The sauce was amazing. My husband loved his seafood pasta. They keep the lights low for dinner with loud music. It gives a fun vibe if that's what you're looking for. read more

This was the Boston Italian resto I didn't know I needed in my life but am now so happy to know exists. The food was amazing, the ambiance was *chef's kiss*, and the service was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Seriously, it would have been 5 stars on its own, but if I could give another 5 just for the service I would. What an amazing night. read more

Romantic ambiance, perfect valentines date spot For starters, we had the cozze (mussels dish) and for our entrees, my boyfriend had the bolognese and I had lobster risotto -- so creamy and came out nice and hot. Our waiter was really kind and attentive. For cocktails, I got the Sophia Loren which was fruity and very refreshing My boyfriend got the Bocelli. It gave fall vibes with the apple cider in it and brown sugar rim. I tried a sip and usually I wouldn't get a drink like that but the Bocelli made me consider otherwise for next time! read more
The food and service were great, and it was very pleasant to sit outside (not too busy or disruptive despite being on the sidewalk). The table bread comes with oil and balsamic in a good ratio, and the bread is airy with a great crust. We got the Broccolini and Arancini as appetizers. The arancini were significantly more cheese than rice, but good nonetheless. They came in a smoked tomato sauce, which went very well to cut some of the richness of the cheeses; I've found arancini to be a bit dense in other places, but they were quite light here. The broccolini were equally excellent, having a bit of char and citrus (though we couldn't figure out which fruit) to deepen the flavor. I got the Chicken Cacciatore (Pollo alla Cacciatora) as my main. The meat itself was moist and juicy with a crispy skin (my favorite part). The olives and mushrooms in the sauce were great to give some balance to the meat-centric dish. I tried the other dishes as well -- the pasta were cooked nicely and have good flavor. The risotto itself was also quite good, though the short rib alone was a bit dry. Overall I would absolutely come back! read more
Amazing environment with decent food and service. To be honest, the vibes of the restaurant were better than the food. I ordered the Campanelle Bolognese, Calamari Fritti, and Tiramisu. Really great calamari and tiramisu! The pasta didn't blow my mind. It was a little too al dente and sweet for my tasting. I tried some of my friends risotto and I liked it more than my pasta. I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try more items on the menu! read more

I am a HUGE fan of their vodka pasta- one of my favorites of this dish in Boston. The perfect amount of creaminess in the sauce. Also the place is very pretty and great ambiance. I would also say the service was very good-the waiter was very nice and helpful answering questions. We had a couple of appetizers which were okay...but the pasta was really the star! read more

While on my trip I decided to venture to another Italian restaurant. This was far a better choice from the previous night. The location is on the main street, however to park go East until the CVS where there is meter parking (that if you go at night). Location is small and it gets busy fast. Make sure you make reservations to make it easier. Service was great and professional. Venue has an Italian ambiance and very good place to go on a date or meet with a friend. Food was excellent and very tasty. I would recommend heating up the bread and main course meal a little bit. Soft drinks are small so consider getting water and or a glass of wine. Other than that is a great place to enjoy a good dinner and/or a metting with a friend/family. read more

Our first visit to Gigi and we'll be back. The food was excellent as well as the service. The seafood for the fruitti di mari fra diavolo was perfectly done read more
We missed the previous Giacomo at this location a lot. That used to be a nice friendly restaurant in the area. Gigi surely turned that nice friendly family owned restaurant into a business feeling. It lost the vibe that the previous Giacomo had. So that's a bit of a disappointment. Arancini was good. Calamari Fritto was so so. read more
There are so many Italian spots and I finally decided on one. Gigi's was going to be my birthday celebration dinner. I ended up making a reservation for my boyfriend and I to eat at Gigi's. We arrived early and we were greeted by a nice host who directed us to the bar to get a drink while they got our table ready. We didn't have to wait long until we were seated and we got a great view by the window. Looking at the menu, I knew what I wanted and that would be the rigatoni with vodka sauce and my boyfriend got the risotto with mushrooms. We started off with the burratta which was amazing, but we were a little disappointed when it only came out with two bread slices so we had to put all of the jam and cheese on the two bread slices. Later on the waitress offered us more bread, but it was kind of late when we had already eaten most of it. The rigatoni was okay, it was kind of sweet and needed more flavor. The risotto was also okay and had overcooked rice. The dishes were good, but portion sizes were very small. I would recommend the burratta to anyone looking for a good appetizer. read more

So I went here last weekend and Spent my birthday meal here with my friends, and had the absolute best time and meal I could ever ask for. Our server Matthew was absolutely amazing!! And the ambience was perfect, intimate and welcoming! He took our curveball of drink orders and the bartender did an amazing job. As someone in the restaurant industry I was absolutely amazed and couldn't believe this place was fairly new. And would say best Italian food I've ever had in my life... and I love eating out! Will be coming back to visit when we can as we were from out of state. Would recommend to everyone!!!! (Eggplant app and vodka pasta was my fav) read more
Gigi is a great addition to the already solid lineup of Italian restaurants in Boston. Service and kitchen was on the slower side but many of dishes more than made up for it. The risotto and burrata were incredible and would 100% recommend. The chicken parm and polpette was good but not mind blowing. The carbonara was a complete miss and easily the most forgettable & bland dish of the night. Overall if you're looking for a smaller intimate spot with reliable Italian, then Gigi's a good place for that. read more

The pasta was great and I really enjoyed the food. However, I had an uncomfortable experience when it came time to pay. My server originally asked if I wanted change for my $100 bill, and I told him yes. He was on his way to bring it back, but the manager stopped him, and that's the only reason he returned to ask me again if I still wanted my change. Because of that, I felt put on the spot and ended up saying no, even though I did want my change. Looking back, I felt pressured to tip more than what I believed was fair. I appreciate good service, but I didn't like feeling pushed during the payment process. read more

Perfect spot for a date night! Loved the atmosphere and the interior design of the inside. The rigatoni is a must try! Wish we got more Parmesan on it. Originally was looking at the pollo alla parmigiana but our server told us it comes with a side of rigatoni, so if you didn't want to order the rigatoni itself you could get that and still try it! The Caesar salad was great too. Bread was yummy of course had to ask for more to dip it in the pasta sauce! Would come back again. read more
