Our server, Adriana, was fantastic. She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. We ordered the Hendrick's Up, Passion Star Martini, Market Oysters, Italia Meatballs, Carrara 640 Wagyu Beef Tartare, and Chicken Parmigiana, along with a Vesper Martini and The Botanist Up. Everything was absolutely flawless -- the oysters were fresh, the meatballs were delicious, the Wagyu tartare was incredible, and the Chicken Parmigiana was a standout. The cocktails were great overall, although the Passion Star Martini wasn't really our favorite. Aside from that one drink, everything was spot-on -- the food, atmosphere, service, and overall experience. We had a wonderful experience at Gibson Italia. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and has an incredible view. The service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely fabulous. The only part that fell a little short for us was the drinks. We tried the passion fruit and lychee martinis, and unfortunately, they didn't quite live up to our expectations. At nearly $40 for the two, we were hoping for something a little more memorable. Overall, Gibson Italia is a beautiful place with excellent food, amazing service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Here's a smoother, more natural Yelp review in your style: We had a reservation but still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. While we were waiting, we went up to the bar and got a Rum Sunrise and an Espresso Martini, and both were delicious. We were seated on the third floor, which was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. We had a large table all to ourselves, and the seating was spaced out enough that you couldn't really see or hear the people next to you, which was nice. We ordered the 7 oz filet, a side of mushrooms, the arancini, and the ravioli carbonara. Everything was delicious. The mushroom sauce was especially good, the egg on top of the ravioli was different but worked well, and the filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Adding the roasted garlic on top made it even better. The arancini were crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and full of flavor. For dessert, we got the banana gelato. The Oreo on the outside was a little hard, but that was really the only downside. The banana, caramel, and everything else paired together really well. The Chantilly cream was a little more buttery than sweet, but it still complemented the dessert nicely. Our server was very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Gibsons Italia was fantastic! From the patio view to the food and service, everything was exceptional. We were celebrating my daughter's 41st birthday. The only reason the review is a 4 instead of a 5 is that someone in the kitchen was a bit heavy-handed on the salt. The octopus was heavenly, but the mixed green salad and its sauce were extremely salty, overpowering the dish's flavor. The branzino was perfectly crispy and light, but it was too salty, too. My daughter said her steak was cooked to perfection, and the asparagus was delightful. Overall, Gibsons was very good. I highly recommend it. They have three areas - outside seating/terrance on the water, a formal dining room with white table cloths, and a bar area that is more upbeat rather than formal. We ordered sooo many things: - Arinchini - Shrimp cocktail - Garlic foccocia - Artichoke - Chopped salad - cacio e pepe - Steak - Chicken parm - whipped Potatoes - Mushrooms - wine - martinis Although I would order EVERYTHING again because it was all some of the best food I've ever had, I would say you absolutely have to order the cacio e pepe. This was by far the best bite of the whole meal! I also loved the foccocia, whipped potatoes and mushrooms. I really don't think you can go wrong ordering. We also had the BEST server ever. My review is based off my recent experience. I do not know if this is normal service but this is what we experienced. I made a reservation for 7 people at 8pm to celebrate a birthday. We were seated pretty quickly in the main dining area. The first thing we noticed was how bumpy the tables were. It felt like the table had a cushion top. Any sudden movement could send your water glass flying. Therefore, we were very careful about where we placed our glasses. However we did experience a spill with our espresso martini because of the uneven table. Our table ordered a variety of food to share as a group. We ordered the garlic focaccia bread and Italia meatball as our appetizer and the mini royal platter. I did mention to them that I had a shellfish allergy but my group would still like to experience their shellfish. I think that was my mistake because our server mentioned that there was a lot of paperwork to be filled out for my shellfish allergy. The first star taken off will be because we waited an hour for the bread and seafood tower to come out. It was 9:05pm according to my photos when we first received the food. Everything was tasty as presented. My group did not give any outstanding remarks but we did finish everything. The second star taken off will be because we waited almost an hour after the appetizers were delivered to the table. For our entrees, we ordered the spicy rigatoni, fusilli, Chicago cut, New York strip, and the chicken parm. For our sides, we ordered the fries, potatoes puree, mushroom and Brussels sprouts. Before the food came out, we mentioned to our server that we were hungry and waiting still waiting for the food. He said he can get the fries out immediately if we would like. So we agreed. We didn't confirm with him and he didn't confirm with us that this would be an additional order. We just thought that it was our original fries order. But our receipt said that we were charged twice for the fries. It was almost 10pm when we got our food so the taste wasn't even a discussion. We ate our meal, paid, and left. They did bring us a birthday treat but it wasn't special since we were disappointed by the service. Another amazing and memorable dinner at Gibsons Italia, this time celebrating our anniversary. Service and wait staff was unparalleled and did everything to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Very attentive and friendly people who go the extra mile to make this a cut above a normal restaurant experience. The meal was another star. Ribeye cut was a must order. The char and finishing salt made this one of the best steaks in the city, even rivaling the lauded Bavette's. The Brussels sprouts are a must order. Probably best I've ever had. Chicken Parmesan a comfort mainstay and comes with a side of the spicy rigatoni. Finally the risotto was delicious, creamy, and hearty. Huge umami profile with it. It definitely helped that the day my wife and I went for lunch was a beautiful day. It was for her birthday lunch and we had a great time there. The reservation was made relatively last minute but didn't run into any issues. We were seated outside on the second or the thirs floor balcony and it worked great since the day was beginning to be hot and the balcony casted a nice shade over us. It was slightly windy, which made for a cool-ish breeze. We splitted a pasta dish and a salad and they were both lovely. No complaints. They also brought out a small birthday cake for my wife, which was lovely. We ended up ordering another desert, which again, was good. We went to Gibsons Italia for my birthday. The service was great and it was a really nice meal for a special occasion. I love paper planes, so I got the My Foolish Heart cocktail to start. It was excellent. I read mixed reviews about the focaccia, but we ended up getting it and I'm so glad we did! It was different from usual focaccia, but very delicious! We came in without a reservation on Thursday night last week with three young kids and all the chaos that comes with that, and Amanda, the manager, was incredible. Even though the restaurant was super packed and clearly very busy, she was so calm, kind, and accommodating. She made us feel genuinely welcome and helped make the whole evening work for us. No response from Patrick (from below) so I'm updating my review! We've always had great service and wonderful food here. However, recently for my birthday a group of us celebrated. The drinks were delicious, service was impeccable and their crab cakes are amazing. Only complaint is my lobster. I should have said something but I was having such an awesome time. It was I can't recall $72 and when I received it, I was disappointed. It was a tiny tail that was way overcooked. Frankly if I had to guess, maybe 4 oz of meat (menu reads 8oz) and shriveled up to also a golf ball size. I ate it but again I was so full from crab. We ordered 3 crab cakes for our table. Again your menu reads crab meat & avocado. They were round and waiter referred to as "our version of a crab cake)! Bottom line, lobster isn't the restaurants go to so I'd pick something else on the menu. Cheers and Guten Appetite! First the table - they attempted to place us in the corner by the kitchen and sever traffic area. - we asked kindly to move which they kindly accommodated. Wine. - I had to order 3 different times only to be told they were out of the selection- for what felt like 10 minutes in between bottles. Had an amazing dinner at Gibsons Italia. We started with the Garlic Focaccia Bread with parmesan fonduta insanely soft and flavorful. The 7-Year Aged Acquerello Risotto with sea scallops was incredible, and the Spicy Rigatoni with vodka sauce was a nice addition. I also had the NY Strip, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. So we finally decided to head to Gibsons Italia. We had heard so many good things from so many people but for some reason didn't get to visit so far. First impressions when we walked in. Very courteous staff and we were seated at the best seat in the house - overlooking the river! From the get-go we knew we wanted the chicago cut so we planned to get the charred broccolini salad and the charred artichoke to try the veggie options. Paired all of that with a rose for me and my hubby got the limoncello spritz. The charred artichoke was the first thing that arrived, with the lemon and capers aioli. It was easily the best artichoke dish I've had. Crispy, creamy goodness. The broccolini salad was fresh and herby and had the perfect crunch with the sliced apples. The rose and spritz balanced the apps perfectly. Finally came the chicago cut, a beautiful, well marbled cut of ribeye which was everything we thought it would be. It comes with a charred garlic and onion on the side which were a great addition of the steak. Highly recommend! We ended the meal with their famous banana gelato which was sumptuous!! Once in the restaurant we had the "Italian meatballs " for starters , I give them a solid 8/10. The ricotta wasn't overpowering , so I appreciate that. The Caesar salad was yummy & I had one of the best steaks I've ever had here . First time trying a bone in filet mignon 12 oz and I would go back solely for this. Only thing I didn't care for was the double baked potato , it just really wasn't anything hint special and wish I got the mash instead.
