This is my 2nd visit to Giant Burger over 4 months. The burgers have been great both times, and shakes. The sides, not so great. The curly fries I had last time were mostly oil so I ordered the Lucky 5 fries this time. Too much garlic, really! So much I could barley eat them. $5 wasted. The order of onion rings only had 5 rings and they were soggy and oil filled as well. However, the rings on the 1st visit were great. **now the gut hurts** Like many people mention on this site- it is really hit or miss at Giant Burger. Never judge a book by it's cover right?! No, you totally should. I wouldn't recommend eating here if this was the last burger joint in Lane County. The service was horribly slow, subpar burger and no condiments. Took 30 minutes to get 2 burgers and a kids meal, we were rushed out the door before we even finished our fries. NOTE - I wrote this review a couple years ago (on my cell phone) and only recently (finally) logged into yelp on my desktop and got around to publishing it. In looking at reviews dated this year, it appears that this place has really cleaned up its act. Truly the worst place I have ever eaten at. We rolled into town starving, and out of gas on our way from LA to Seattle. This place had great reviews, so we were anticipating great food. Wow - we've never been so wrong! The place felt filthy- should have known right then, but we figured everyone has bad days and maybe they'd just been really busy. That said, my shoe actually stuck to the floor under our table. The table was sticky with smeared and partially dried ketchup. Yuck!! The service was sketchy too. The waitress came immediately with water and menus, but then apparently forgot us. 15 minutes later she finally took our order, but it took another 20 minutes to get our food. We were the only people in the place eating at the time, and we ordered pretty basic stuff. The milkshakes were really good, but when she brought them, they were all goopy on the outside and sticky. I asked for extra napkins because she didn't make any attempt to clean up her mess, and the napkin container on our table was empty. It took her another 5 minutes to bring me the napkins- still no apology. My husband ordered a big Thai salad. He asked for NO onions, and she brought it out with about a pound of them. So that was fun. I ordered French Dip. When I ordered it, I asked her if it was good. She replied, "oh yes. It didn't used to be, but we just got new meat." NOTE TO SELF: WHEN YOU HEAR LITTLE ALARMS GOING OFF IN YOUR MIND, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY LISTEN TO THEM!! It wasn't just dry, it was rancid. It was horrible- I nearly vomited. My daughter ordered a PLAIN hamburger. It came smothered in ketchup, mustard, onions and pickles. She took one bite and burst into tears. We sent hers back, but all they did was scrape the sauce off the meat and replace the top 1/2 of the bun. It still tasted like onions and mustard. I can't remember what my son ordered, but I'm not sure he has taste buds anyway. He'll eat pretty much anything. Even he drew the line though, at the dripping in grease, stuck together, undercooked homemade potato chips they brought to the table. UGH!!! The waitress never came back so my husband went up to pay while I took the kids to the car. A man I had glimpsed in the back of the restaurant chased me out into the parking lot, demanding, "I noticed you didn't eat much. What's wrong with the food? Was it bad? I knew it, I've been on them all day. They mess up everything!!" He was scary, and I couldn't get the kids in the car the fast enough to get away from him. I couldn't think of anything nice to say. Several thing NEED to be said about Giant Burger. They're not fibbing... the darn things are HUGE. Had the LUCKY FIVE BURGER and it was pretty darn tasty... the bacon, the bleu cheese and smoked cheddar... and the Texas Toast. Bride had the Juicy Lucille and ate it all. We split a basket of Onion Rings (darn tasty and huge), and the beloved also had a shake. We rolled out. We were too stuffed to do much other than groan. Would I go back? Heck YEAH. Would I have the same thing? Probably not- I'll split what the bride wants, another basket of Onion Rings, and probably have a beer. Iced tea does not cut it for me. First let me start off by saying that in the past I have loved this place. The last few times have been progressively worse. This may have been the last straw. We came in and waited 15 minutes while the waitress ignored us. We finally got up and went to the register to place our order. After that we waited 35 minutes before we decided to make sure they didn't forget about us. The waitress seemed to intentionally ignore me again. I had to flag down a very nice lady that told us earlier that this was her second day on the job. To give credit where credit is due, she was busting her backside. While she was checking the waitress jumped over to check. The order was nowhere near getting on the grill. We cancelled our order and left. All in all we were there for about 45 minutes and only got a soda. I think it should be important to note that we were not the only ones to walk out this night. I think next time I'll go down the street to Finn's. With unemployment in Lane County at an all time high, and many very qualified people looking for jobs you might think that they would take the opportunity to find better people for wait staff and grill cooks. read more

I would never eat in the restaurant. There were nothing but tweakers hanging out, begging for money and one even asked to use my phone. I took my order to go and went outside to wait in my car because I was to creeped out by the "patrons" of this establishment. What an awesome experience! I got a huge milkshake with a mountain of whip cream and itty bitty burgers. The phone order was fantastic. The food was hot off the grill right when I stepped in the door, and the waitress was exceptional! They have handmade beef patties made with local Mohawk Valley grass-fed 100% Angus beef. Lots of milkshake options and they use Umpqua ice cream! We we loved the red, green and yellow peppers, which added balance to the grilled mushrooms and guacamole. The fries, however, weren't quite as specatular. Even though they were served with a selection of ranch, ketchup and special sauce, they were rather run-of-the-mill. The fries were extra long and stringy, and not terribly crispy, either. I think I gained 4 pounds, but it was so worth it. There are so many choices of shakes and burgers!! The malt was so big I barely had room for my burger, but somehow I managed to take in all the deliciousness (2 of us shared a basket of fries).
