Amazing In-N-Out. Even with a pending storm, the lines went very quickly and was appreciative of the staff being friendly.

I don't usually frequent this Giant but it was next to another store where I was shopping at so I went in. The shopping center it is located in is kind of a pain, to get in and out of, because of how the flow of traffic is set up. There is plenty of parking, though. It is a huge Giant; used to be a Shoppers & is still laid out as such. I was torn about the layout & some sections had a really nice variety of merch but then others did not or were a bit confusing. I was on the hunt for chapstick but I only found one single option that was hanging at the checkout counter. I even enlisted three employees in the search and we all came up empty handed ... except for the one hanging at the checkout counter. The store was very clean, well lit, and inviting. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, which I feel Giant excels in hiring their staff. read more

They need to have more registers open, so that you do not have to use the self-checkout. Always get a printed receipt and compare the items in your cart to the items listed on the receipt before you walk out the door. Stores these days are quick to have the customer arrested if they mistakenly don't pay for an item, instead of telling them to pay for the item or leave it behind, which would be the reasonable thing to do. Walking out of a store these days is like running a gauntlet. Avoid using self-checkout if at all possible, even if you have to wait in line. Also the prices are too high. I detest this giant because they treat their customers so unfairly. Last night, I saw a manager a girl, making fun of an elderly woman by mimicking her body type, walking like her, and laughing behind her back. Sadly, this pharmacy has to rely on employees who communicate poorly and make a lot of mistakes. I'm not sure if this is due to a shortage of qualified pharmacy workers or maybe Giant just doesn't pay well enough to attract good employees. Some of my experiences include: - Receiving the wrong number of pills based on the prescription from my doctor. The prescription was for 30 pills, I paid for 30 pills, they gave me a sealed bottle of 90 pills from the manufacturer. ‍ - Receiving the wrong medication dosage after my doctor increased dosage from 10 to 20mg. They filled the old 10mg prescription months after I had been taking the 20mg prescription. - Being told my medication would be available on Monday, only to find out the person who told me that was wrong and it wasn't available when promised. I've changed pharmacies multiple times and due to poor experiences all over Northern VA, I found my way back to Giant. It's time to transfer again...maybe I'll go to mail order from Amazon or CVS Caremark. read more

My son loves to sit in the carts that are either cars or have steering wheels. The carts that have cars are TERRIBLE. I get the dirty glare from nearly everyone as I try to maneuver through the aisles and self-checkout. Just a note for anyone reading: if someone politely says "excuse me" the general response is to move slightly and not to stare like a deer in headlights questioning what to do. After a really bad trip at Potomac Yard, I needed to find a Giant with larger aisles and wheels instead of cars attached to carts. One day after getting my hair done at my stylist's place nearby, I decided to stop in and check this Giant out. As soon as I saw the carts with steering wheels I was sold! Aside from carts with steering wheels, the produce always is nicely arranged and looks fresh. They have quite a bit of prepared meals all up front. I love how their grab 'n go deli has Boars Head meats available. The setup is a little different: after produce and prepared foods, you hit frozen seafood and fresh meats, dairy is along the back. The beer is kept in a walk-in freezer. They have a lot of "ethnic" sauces, spices, etc. They also fully stock check-out lines making it an easy in and out. Starbucks and a nice, modern PNC with 2 ATMs are also inside. Parking is annoying because this is a large shopping plaza; however, it's worth it for me based on steering wheels on the carts alone. read more

Giant recently opened in the place of the old Shoppers! This new grocery store has the look of all the newness and has Giant's usual produce section, deli counter, a bakery, and prepared foods. Everything was neatly organized, and I liked that they had ample amount of space in the aisles for easier mobility, for individuals and for the carts! With the Grand Opening, there were some great specials and deals, as well as the ongoing Giant specials you'd find in all of their locations. We bought some limited edition Haagen Dazs Peppermint Bark ice cream, some steak, and vegan butter. Watch out for the cakes in the bakery section I found several months old in there. Who wants an old cake and open products. Management needs to be involved to make sure of ldmproeuzts are moved. I have noticed this at several giants including falls church and others. Of you like old cake you have the right place. Giant needs to clean up their bakeriee. read more

12/22/19 Found the battery I needed for my remote control. I can tell you want a pain in the ass it is when you can't pause your movie let alone rewind your funniest moments in the movie you like. Now that I I aquired what I need, it's time to find the ducktape to secure my best Christmas gift to my aunt. This Giant is brand new and really nice! It has a harris teeter feel to it because everything is so clean. This location has a huge offering of $5 or less ready meals which is awesome! The sushi here is surprisingly good. The sushi chef here seems to know what he's doing and really knows his craft. This will be my new go to grocery store! read more

This new Giant food store is so super excellent. I WAS a pretty big Harris Teeter fan down the street, but this new Giant puts a lot of other grocery stores to shame. The produce section is HUGE, and bright, and organized... the prepared foods section has such a large selection of products. I love the olive bar. The wine section is sort of lacking, but you have total wine in the same shopping center so not too big a deal. They also have a ton of self check out lanes which I appreciate because I never have to wait (unlike, ahem, harris teeter)... I feel like I'll definitely be coming here first even though it's a slightly further drive for me. Great new location. read more

FINALLY. I've been waiting for a nice supermarket for a long time. This is where the old horrible Shoppers use to be and I am SOOOO glad they are outta here! The new Giant is very band new, still has that shiny new floor look in every aisle. Everything is well organized. Nothing looks out of place. The selection is like all the selections at Giant's, very large. Prices are also very reasonable. I'm looking forward to shopping the deals here. The employees here have all been very friendly and nice. I appreciate their smiles and their courtesy. I don't know if it's because they're new employees or they're just nice people, but I definitely notice the difference in service between here and some other grocery stores I frequent. The bathrooms are also very clean (for now.) Pro tip - use the back parking garage and take the stairs down so you don't have to fight with the sometimes heavy traffic in the front. Plenty of parking but it does build up during the busier times. read more

Always friendly staff and well stocked - this store is HUGE. Tonight a gentleman - Paul, went out of his way to help me when he saw I was looking for a register to check out at. He asked me how my day was, and then asked me if I had a good day today - which is a question not asked enough in these times. We had a nice conversation and I could tell he really cared about me as a customer. He told me exactly how much I saved, wish me well and thanked me when I donated to our local food bank. Giant, if you read this - I'm sure this man is having a powerful effect on your customers in a very positive way. Please give him the credit he deserves! read more

Peapod by Giant used to be excellent. I'm handicapped and get everything delivered. Their service has gone to crap. NEVER on time. MISSING ITEMS, usually deli. I tried Wegmans. It's like day and night. ALWAYS on time. The deli meat is much better than Giant. It's Wegmans for me from now on!! read more

This store is notorious for selling rotten food. I avoid their produce because it's always bad. Yesterday I bought chicken from there and I went to make it for dinner tonight and it smelt funny and was spoiled even though the date was for next week and it was the best looking one of the bunch. I will no longer be shopping at this store unless it's a last minute emergency or it's a boxed or frozen item. read more

If you make a last min decision to grab a beer while grabbing baby formula you better hope the cashier can check you out without override or that Peter isn't the manager. Got to the register at 11:57 cashier had scanned my drink and ID all we needed was override from the manager (since she was new) but no where was he to be found she kept trying to find him calling out his name once again no where to be found finally at 12:02 here he comes and what does he do look at me and smile and says he can't sell it because it's 12:02. Maybe policies have changed since I worked for giant a few years ago but when you had a cashier who needed overrides closing you stayed near the front to be sure this situation didn't happen. I'm not a Giant fan, but this store has won me over. My local store is Harris Teeter, and I drive 20 minutes to head to Wegmans Alexandria. I detest Giants as the ones I've shopped at during the last decade in the DMV are usually old and outdated, dirty, unkempt, understocked, and often crowded. So when I heard Giant was coming to Landmark, I wasn't impressed. However, this Giant is giving me renewed hope. The store is absolutely massive for starters. Aisles are wide and spacious. Produce selection is humongous and fresh. Every department carries a wide selection of products -- the ice cream selection especially! So many smaller boutique brands in stock that I really love and am usually hard pressed to find. Beyond stocking these brands, they carry a wide array of flavors that stay fully stocked and I really appreciate that. Their health and beauty aisle has a huge selection, it puts HT to shame. I could honestly drop in here rather than a drug store for most typical items! 8 self check outs means I don't waste my time standing in line and can get in and out quickly. I love it! Newer building that went up in the shipping center off of LRTP. Great prices and the produce is by far some of the best at any of the grocery stores around here. I prefer the produce and non perishables here to any of the other local groceries, but the meat selection isnt always the best. Meat prices are higher for mediocre quality. read more

This is the worst grocery store I have ever been to. The shelves are full of out-of-date food, moldy food, and to top it off the prices are sky high for this bad food. The employees have zero sense of customer service or pride in their work. You're lucky if you can get an employee to be rude to you, because it's the only interaction you'll get with them. Bad food, bad employees, bad prices, and the store is dirty. The store is literally dirty, as in it looks like they don't even mop it. The parking lot is full of marijuana smell and doesn't feel safe at nighttime. This store is proof that Giant is without a doubt one of the worst grocery chains in the US. Clearly the entire board and subordinate staff is worthless and does not know how to run a good business. I would give this a zero-star rating if that was possible. Drive down the road to any other grocery chain, skip this and any Giant you see. read more

Great store ,i give it a 2 because needs more improvement of customer service with associates. 1 cashier that does not greet as if she doesnt want to be there. I've been to this store a few times and am generally favorably impressed. Lots of room to maneuver. I do have to say this, though. Today, February 15, I came in hoping to get some Valentine's candy on sale. I asked an employee in one of the aisles whether they had Valentine's candy on sale. She told me, "No, we sold out yesterday." (Wow, that was fast!) I thanked her. As I was going toward the cash registers, I did see some small collections of what was obviously Valentine's candy, although it didn't appear to be on sale. So her statement that they sold out (said with such confidence) was not a true one. Did she not actually know and not want to admit it, or did she think that I deserved a lie?
