Totten, a friend hooked my up with a weekend skyline view at the Sheraton across the street. Wearing for layers, I went down to Harris Teeter for Sun Chips, Mentos, water and a bottle of wine. The lines were hideously long, but they moved right along. The prices seemed pretty steep, but maybe it's because I was visiting from Houston and geography had something to do with it (economic mumbo jumbo). Either which way, it was a pleasant experience. Shoutout to Rosa G. for her AMAZING speed at getting us going.

This store is small so the selection is limited but that keeps me shopping on a budget. This store makes you feel like you're living in a small town when I continue to see the same cashiers from day to day. Small town in a big city is no small feat. May be due to the location- right in the middle of a friendly neighborhood. Thankful to find a place with no tourists or visitors when trying to run a quick errand. Highly recommend to all old town residents.

This store is abysmal, a pathetic joke!…read more The manager is a bumbling idiot & the checkout personnel have the personality of a door knob. We made a special trip to user their Western Union service only to find it closed. It's advertised to close at 9, and we arrived shortly after 7:15. No one was at the counter, & no sign or commynication. We we inquired to the male checkout attendant who mumbled "yes", got on the phone, then said the manager said it's not working. We asked to speak to the manager. Mr. Male Personality checkout clerk asked Ms Personality checkout clerk to phone Bumbling Manager. Well, after lying that it was broken, Bumbling Manager finally tripped up on his own story and revealed they close tge Western Union at 8 at this store because it's small and in order to reconcile (despite the fact it wasn't yet 8, and in fact, far from it). After I challenged Bumbling Manager he became quite upset that I was raising my voice - to which I replied you're advertising a service and closing it early without any notification to customers. He mumbled back the lie that it was not operational, refused to say if it woukd be the next morning, & was a completely discombobulated when I continued to challenge his lie. I'll never shop at a Safeway!!!!!!!

The place is in quick walking distance to several hotels. The hot bar is fresh and the lines aren't too long. As far as prices, it is on the high end. I would only go here if you want something slightly cheaper than the surrounding food options.

I solely went off of the Yelp review for which store to get a some items for our AirBnB since we arrived late....big mistake we walked to the Safeway and before even walking in there was a guy pissing on the Safeway building before he went in to shop. That should have stopped me but I for some god forsaken reason I continued in there and well it was a complete let down. On the other hand Balducci's store was super clean, great selection on anything we needed and I didn't feel filthy after walking out. I can't give this store enough stars.

Food: First off,…read moresis-in-law ordered Jewish food. From an Italian deli. She isn't very food bright. Food was the worst, even if it wasn't listed for Jewish. Every Italian g-ma is throwing signs at the cook and spitting curses. Where to start? Matzo ball soup. Narry a veg in liquid that could brine a turkey. The matzo balls were smaller than a golfball and hard enough to be used as such. My blood pressure spiked just tasting this and I'm in need of a statin to lower it before I have a coronary. Brisket. Who uses sweetness to hide shoe leather. Balducci's does. Save the gravy for pasta. Not used in cooking a $20/pound meat. Dry as the desert Moses crossed over. Bland as sand. No seasonings. Not sure what they did to decide that carrots and sweet potatoes should be as sweet as Christmas cookies, but they did. Not sure what decision was made to add this to the order. Shameful use of prop veggies. Potato pancakes. Um, not sure where the potato pissed the cook off, but this cook must be the one who made the soup. Rock hard. No seasoning. And the size of a fidget spinner. And could have been used to try and allow my blood pressure to lower from all the salt. I wouldn't walk back into this establishment. Someone who thought it was ok to serve this food at all, without tasting it, should be sent home without dessert. Where was the thinking to even offer this service to your Mediterranean cousins without any quality control, is shameful for the owners, managers, and boiata cooks would charge nearly $500 dollars for this crap. Where can we get a refund?

I always find the items I need but it might be on a different form or brand. That is what I like about aldi -- the brands always changes therefore you get to experience different items that you didn't try. They have everything you need as a typical grocery store but with plenty of space to walk around. Must have are their chocolates --- they have great German chocolate that are to die for. No complaint as they have a shared parking space with CVS with one way entrance and exit. Great choice as it does not get too busy as other Aldi stores in the nearby cities.

Why should anyone have to deal with that just to shop at a store??
