They did an amazing job with my birthday cake! It tasted SO GOOD with their gluten free, vegan recipe. The decorations were beautiful in the colors that I wanted and with flowers. I ordered a cake from here for my nieces birthday party. It was pink and black zebra on the inside and outside. It was fabulous. I recently ordered another cake for my birthday and was disappointed. When I picked it up it was a yellow like color and not gold like I had expected, hoped for, and shared a photo of. It was upsetting and I got that frustrated feeling inside but tried to make the best of it as to not be a upset on my big day. I did state in the shop that it was more yellow than gold and they just kinda didn't seem to respond. After serving the top layer of the cake many people complained that it was dry. Which was disappointing as well. Luckily we had other dessert options available. I emailed kelly about this and she didn't respond. My step dad got upset that she didn't respond and her called her. She asked if we served the cake. Which duh yes. And asked if we had any left and to bring it in. We had the whole bottom layer left but I'm not going to bother wasting my time doing that. First Visit... Stopped by to see what the place was like. I was a few minutes early and had to wait for them to open, but the minute they opened the door I knew I had made a good call. The smell was amazing! I am admittedly not a huge fan of cupcakes, so I did not get one of those, but I will probably try one at some point. I did get an iced sugar cookie, and a blueberry oatmeal cookie. The sugar cookie was very good... clearly fresh, and came in cute ghost or pumpkin shapes. The blueberry oatmeal cookie was a revelation! So delicious and moist, with mild blueberry flavor and a great density. As far as the store front, it is small, but very nice. The area seemed extremely clean. The building it is in is very unique and fun, and has some other stores as well. The employees manning the shop were both VERY friendly, and happy to help me. We chatted a bit, and they offered cookie suggestions and advised that they normally have many more cupcake flavors 'on tap' (they were still cooling from the oven waiting to be iced... again, I arrived RIGHT as they opened). Between the amazing baked goods, and the personable service, I will definitely be returning here to try more products. So much for my diet... Multiple Visits Later... Still awesome. I have tried almost every cookie now, and they all rock. My favorites are the blueberry oatmeal, peanut butter, and molasses. But I have yet to try a cookie I DON'T like. I have tried a pumpkin cupcake with maple frosting as well, and despite not being a cupcake person I really liked it! Very dense, which is how I like my cupcakes. I also got a bunch of cupcakes for my visiting friend's birthday. She is a cupcake snob, and really liked these as well (although she felt they could use a bit less frosting). As other reviewers have mentioned, there is not a HUGE selection, but it is not an enormous bakery. If you want great fresh cookies and cupcakes, I highly recommend it. This place is great. The staff is very friendly and I love that you are looking right into the kitchen and can see how clean everything is. Great little shop! We stopped in one night as we were wandering around Village Gate and were delighted to find this hidden gem. The cupcakes were great and the cookies were as well. The cupcakes were reasonably priced and we were surprised to find that they were vegan as well. The owner was extremely helpful, friendly and she entertained all of our questions (as well as made us laugh). As we talked to her (and my husband and his friend tried to pester her for stale cupcakes) we found that she even donates her left over cupcakes to local shelters in the area when she can. I went here last night for dessert and was happy with what I found. The staff were very friendly and polite and they seemed in good spirits despite being only 45 minutes away from closing. I have had Get Caked cupcakes a few times since they have been in the VIllage Gate and they're a cute little stop. Sugar cookies are one of my favorite things in the world, and theirs was great with the complimentary coffee they serve. I also liked both the chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, but I found them to be a little dry. The frosting was great, though! Now, the gluten free pumpkin cupcake is a different story. That thing was all around delicious. I was really impressed and definitely wouldn't have thought it was gluten free had I not known. Knowing that, I'll definitely go back and try more of their gluten free goods. I love this little bakery. They don't have a huge range of baked goods (today they had cupcakes, cookies, and brownies) but what they have is really good. Their baked goods include non vegan, vegan, and vegan/gluten free items and are all clearly labelled. I've been here before for cookies but today I tried a cupcake. It was a perfect cupcake, rich dark chocolate with chocolate frosting. I don't like frosting and I loved this cupcake frosting and all! And did I mention it was vegan? My friend, who's not vegan loved her vegan chocolate with vanilla frosting cupcake too. This will definitely be a regular stop for me. I can't wait to try the other flavors especially the carrot cake and apple. The only reasons that I didn't give this five stars are the rather limited hours and the location. Really enjoyed the cookies and chocolate raspberry cupcake. A perfect option if your having a bad day or if you just can't resist the taste! Just, No. I did not like the locale, the old factory building smelled weird. The store was much smaller, with less variety, than I expected. The counter person was slow to greet us, chatting with someone in the back and then quite put-off, rude actually, when coming to help. The biggest turn-off was the plethora of fruit flies flying around inside the glass cases. And, the 'dot' system of identifying the type of cupcakes was too complicated ~ just put a V or GF on the label. The actual bakery products were unremarkable, only ate half of one and threw it out. I noticed the coffee on the way out, looks like old legion hall type of generic coffee, would never give it a try. Sorry, just sayin' what I'm feeling. read more

Pre-ordered 48 cupcakes here for my twins 2nd birthday and had them delivered over Easter weekend. When the cupcakes arrived they were cold and frosting was hard. I initially thought it was bc they were in a cooler prior to delivery so let them sit out. I am embarrassed to say I had to serve these to many guests as the cupcakes were hard to chew and the frosting never softened. This led me to believe the cupcakes were probably pre-made days ahead :( I contacted the owner and she did refund me only after I brought her some of the cupcakes which I myself am surprised I even had 1 or 2 saved that I didn't throw out. Spent over $120 for nothing when I could have just went to Wegmans for FRESH cupcakes and much less money. :( i don't recommend pre-ordering. First off, I absolutely had no clue that the baked goods were gluten free until I just went in to write a review on this place. I will be honest and say that if there was flavor described as rawhide and Death Valley rolled in to one, it would be called "gluten free." However, considering I was just going to review the 3 cupcakes and English Toffee cookie that we got on February 27th, which were out-flipping-standing, NOT knowing there was no gluten in some or all of these baked goods, I would say this place deserves a solid 5 stars. Now, for those who like insanely sweet cupcakes, this may not hit that sweet tooth. These cupcakes are more along the lines of artisanal that aims for balance more than those other places' cupcakes that aim for a rush and pile on of sweetness so that you really had no idea that 6 forms of chocolate and heavy chocolate frosting, followed by cold sweats and a stomach ache, really is not awesome after all. The cookie - I have to tell you - was really fantastic. It was how every bakery's Heath Bar cookies should taste but fail to own. This place owns it. The chewiness and delicate toffee flavor is perfectly matched with the cookie flavor itself. It really could not be any better unless you happened to be having this English Toffee Cookie in England, at an English Café, and Harry Potter flew by (just for authenticity). read more

My three favorites so far are the raspberry lemon, vanilla chai, and the banana bread (i forgot exactly what that one is called). I worked with Kelly at Get Caked to create a wedding cake in July and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. She responded to my numerous questions over email and even added fresh flowers from my florist to the exterior for a personal touch. Looking for something sweet after dinner, we followed the signs through the Village Gate to Get Caked. I had never heard of it before and it being 9:30 pm on a Friday night, our choices were limited. The smell walking in was fabulous. If I hadn't already been looking for dessert the aromas would have gotten me hook line and sinker. We got two cupcakes and three cookies for around eight dollars, which seemed very reasonable. Although we haven't yet eaten the cupcakes, all three cookies were delicious. My favorite was the lemon. It was still warm coming right out of the oven. I hope they make it because these types of businesses seem to disappear pretty quickly around these parts. They have several things going for them. The fact that they're open so late was a huge plus. The product is also delicious and priced well. The cashier had a British accent. A man with that accent can sell me just about anything!
