Vegan? Both? I said I was looking for some gluten free goodies but they didn't have to be vegan. I was referred to a large shelf with tons of tasty treats. Cupcakes, large slices of cake, macaroons, and NY Bills shaped cookies. I picked out a gluten free cupcake for myself and one for mom. I had the orange cranberry cupcake and mom got strawberry champagne. My cupcake was a little dry, which I have found to be typical of gluten free batters. The frosting made up for it. The orange cranberry flavors blended together perfectly. Mom's cupcake tasted like it had champagne in the cake itself, not necessarily just in the frosting. It was a better-textured batter than the orange cranberry.

Had a sticky bun and a fudge parfait, which totaled $10. Felt slightly steep for what they were, and the sizes, but whatever. Both were pretty delicious, but not as good as treats from other area bakeries. The sticky bun in particular tasted a bit...aged. Grabbed a cinnamon streusel bread thingy on the way out ($7.50) that hasn't been tested yet. Overall, an okay experience!

The place itself is quite unassuming but everything was tidy, clean and fresh. I'm not vegan and don't specifically seek out vegan places, but whatever modifications were made to the traditional sweet treats that we purchased were not readily noticeable. Everything tasted pretty "mainstream" to us. Those cinnamon rolls though. *chef's kiss*

The designs are classy and simple and everything is baked to order. I can personally vouch for the cinnamon rolls, peanut butter chocolate cupcakes and snickerdoodle cupcakes. She came back out from the front and asked again if I needed anything. So, I got a blueberry muffin. I LOVE blueberry muffins, but I never buy them anymore bc I no longer eat most things like that. It's a sad, lonely choice I made....to cut out all the tasty treats in the world lol NOT THIS DAY THO!! haha! I could not resist. The looked incredible and for $2 a piece being as big as they were...I had to. UNBELIEVABLY delicious. I was so happy I got it. I am a cake connoisseur. I test cakes from many bakeries and compare the taste and texture…read more I am not as concerned with decoration or presentation, although an attractive cake is nice to have. It is very unfortunate that the old ethnic bakeries have gone away and replaced primarily by grocery stores. It appears that the children of the old ethnic bakeries saw how hard their parents worked and decided to become doctors and lawyers and such. The delicious cakes of our long ago memories are gone. I visit a lot of new bakeries trying to relive my past memories. It appears that most of these new bakeries utilize standard cake mixes available from a variety of sources. They may add an ingredient of two to try to make it taste more homemade, but they all fail my taste and texture tests. Most are light and fluffy cake with average icing. They do look good however, but that is not what I look for. I look for taste and texture. I was very pleasantly surprised with our recent visit to Sweet Solutions on Main Street in Canandaigua. I ordered two large cakes for a corporate event. One was Vanilla/Vanilla and the other was Triple Chocolate. WOW ! Both cakes were exceptional in both taste and texture. They looked great too. Both cakes were devoured by the 45 people in attendance. Sweet Solutions mentioned that each cake would serve about 40 people. They must serve small slices. Our guests had two and three helpings apiece. Everyone raved on how great the cakes were. I personally had three pieces (large by the way) and would have had more the next day if any were available. The visit to Sweet Solutions took me back to the 60's and 70's when Shreck's and Vecchi's bakeries in Canandaigua when I was a child. Both were exceptional bakeries that were local institutions. There are a few bakeries in Rochester, NY who make some nice cakes but they are not as good as Sweet Solutions in Canandaigua, NY. My wife is ordering another today ! I am overjoyed to finally find a bakery that can meet my high standards. I can honestly say that Sweet Solutions is the best in the greater Rochester area. Thanks for reading. It also would have been a nice touch if they offered coffee and/or tea to go with their items... but, since they are more of a takeout bakery (only having outdoor seating), it may not make sense for them. I opted for a savory option of a breakfast sandwich made on a jalapeno scone with egg, perfectly crispy bacon and melty cheddar cheese. My friends got a pastry and a muffin. My sandwich was really tasty & fresh; I thought the price was kinda steep, coming in around $15. My one friend enjoyed her pastry. My other friend had a very hard time getting the wrapper to peel off of her muffin, losing pieces of muffin in order to remove all the wrapper. I would consider visiting again, but would really like for them to have pricing listed somewhere.
