Excellence.... It's a given that The Michelin guide is sleeping on Santa Fe but this place in particular blew our minds. We saw the reviews and thought how good can this place really be? Well let's start with the entrance, there isn't a seating area so don't arrive too early but the actual layout is impressive you are greeted by two eternal flames the layout of the restaurant is like a labyrinth. Not all spots created equally, but regardless of where you are sitting the food and service are exceptional. Sure it's a little bit pricey but if you go al la carte you looking at $100-$125 pp all in. The four course vegetarian at $80 is phenomenal value. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and his passion shined through every interaction we had. The dish that blew me away the most was the elk, it was holy cow... probably one of the top 10 most satisfying meals I've had the pleasure of consuming. Please don't come here if you're in a rush. This is an experience meant to be savored and good cooking takes time. The area around the restaurant is gorgeous and historic. Great place to meander and people watch.

Nearly five Stars and nearly a thousand reviews... that's pretty much all you need to know :) The food here is first class; the other reviews dig into the details of particular dishes. My recommendation is to order dishes that are more 'different' from each other & then share. The building is from 1756 (whoa) with extremely cool atmosphere. If you're a foodie [and if you're a Yelper you probably are], definitely go. Reservations *strongly* recommended, if not (almost) required

We visited for our anniversary, and enjoyed Joseph's excellent service, a fine meal, and yes, two desserts because even though we've been married a long time, we couldn't agree on one. Amuse-bouche: Wild mushroom and sherry bisque Appetizers: Seared foie Tuna tartare Mains: Elk to avoid food envy, though the lamb chops looked good as well Dessert: Meyer Lemon Crépe Warm Organic pear and almond tart (If I were to choose only one, I'd choose the lemon crépe).

The food are amazing here. one of the best in Santa Fe, but also it's on the pricy side. the space is elegant and best for a night out to dress up. pay attention to the art decor on the walls, they are very unique and mesmerizing. We had reservation and were seated right away with a glass of complimentary sparkling wine to start while we are looking at the menu. Wasabi Caesar: must try, very unique with Crispy Rice "Dice". Lobster-Poblano Bisque is very rich and flavorful. Pan-Seared Foie Gras is nice but portion is very small. Grilled Maine Lobster Tails is my favorite of all, the flavor is very rich with garlic and creamy in the angel hair pasta Green Miso Sea Bass is nice but the noodle kinda taste like instant noodle and a little lack of flavor with the broth Tellicherry Rubbed Elk Tenderloin is very tender and juicy New Mexico Four Corners Grilled Rack of Lamb is a strongest meat dish of them all, very large size of the lamb and cooked in perfection.

This place feels very intimate and special from the start. The cocktails are very good, with the bourbon bramble being a real standout. The caramelized pork belly was our favorite starter. The fish special was delicious, but the beef tenderloin was a bit underwhelming. The meat itself was a tad under seasoned so the veal demi was doing all the heavy lifting. The pistachio tres leches was the best dessert we had on our whole trip to Santa Fe.

We have been coming to New Mexico for almost years now and when we come here we love to reserve us a table for 2 every time! Again, we were not disappointed when we reserved a table for two on our wedding night. We eloped here and so happy we did. The service was everything it always has been and the food was spectacular as usual too! First they brought us out a pea soup which they always have and highly recommend having this if you love pea soup. This is up there with the best I've ever had! The ambience is amazing here too, it's great for celebrating special occasions but it's more of an "intimate" atmosphere. They have some outside seating as well and a small bar but I'm quite sure you should call to reserve your table or bar seats. Valet parking is available and there's also street parking or there's a parking lot up the street where you can pay with your credit card.

My daughter got us an early dinner reservation on Saturday, because everything else was booked. And there is good reason. We were greeted immediately by the hostesses who were very nice, and seated us straight away. From the outside of the restaurant, it is somewhat unassuming, but when you enter, it is elegant, very clean and stylish. Our waiter was not far behind after we were seated, took our drink order and when he came back a short time after that gave us the rundown on the days features. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the Slow-Braised Short Ribs and the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Sashimi & Tartare. When they arrived, they were plated beautifully. And the taste, OMG, the short rib was one of the best, if not THE best short rib I have ever tasted. Cut it with a butter knife and it just melts in your mouth. Super delicious. The tuna and tartare were off the charts as well. So flavorful. Forgot to mention the breads, the green chili biscuits were excellent. I mentioned how good they were and our waiter and he brought out another bowl for us. I ordered the Fiery Sweet Chili & Honey-Grilled Mexican White Prawns for my entree because I mentioned how I like my food spicey and the waiter agreed that is what I should order. He even brought me out a side of the chili sauce so I could add some to my entree. The prawns were large, the rice cakes were delicious as well. A great choice! My daughter ordered the Grilled Maine Lobster Tails, that is her go to at Geronimo, and I now know why. I did get a taste with the pasta. SO GOOD! This is what I would order the next time there. Between the service, the ambiance, the drinks and the food, all top notch. You cannot go wrong dining here!

Worth visiting - beautiful intimate setting with creative and well presented food that slightly missed the mark. Our service was slow which I attribute to our casual attire - recommend dressing up. Risotto was perfectly cooked and rich but not memorable with a strange sauce, 3/5 Beet salad was a symphony of tangy sauce, goat cheese and greens, only complaint was the beets were slightly soft and overpowered the other ingredients with proportion. 4.5 Prawns with potato cake were delicious with Asian inspired sauce, a little sweet. 4.5 Sea bass was well cooked but missed an opportunity for a crispy skin. Noodles were tasty could use a touch more salt. Bok Choi and miso flavors complemented everything but I wasn't sure about the truffle. 4 Crème brûlée brought out a lemon flavor, forgettable 3

Went here with a group of friends. We had a great mixture of food and drinks. We had roasted beet salad for starters. We then had elk tenderloin and beef tenderloin for the main course. We had a great fresh white wine and a Pinot noir for the main dish. The food was good maybe a little light on salt but ok with very attentive service

Arborio rice risotto: lobster, rock shrimp, kings crab leg & lobster beurre blanc

*4.5 star overall rating* I was quite happy to squeeze in a reservation at Geronimo before my Santa fe trip came to an end. I sat at the bar for my reservation. Both bartenders provided excellent service but surprisingly neither told me their names. For starters, I got their Arborio rice risotto: lobster, rock shrimp, kings crab leg & lobster beurre blanc. My bartender was spot on when she said that the rice risotto was minimal coz all that seafood dominated the plate and it did. The soup you see is my bartender's complimentary offering of Wild mushroom & sherry bisque: this has to go down as the *best* mushroom bisque I had in 2024. For my entree, I had their maple-black pepper roasted pork shank: mile mushrooms, brandied demi-glace & baby greens with garlic mashed potatoes. As large as the pork looks, I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it but I did without being overly full. Didn't even need my knife as the pork pieces came right off with my forking! The bartenders did an amazing job with my bourbon negroni cocktail. I had their meyer lemon crepe dessert: Lemon curd, creme fraiche & limoncello. It was a nice dessert although I was expecting something a bit more exciting. Overall, this was an amazing fine dining meal and I will return to Geronimo for sure.

We enjoyed an amazing dinner here. The food, service and ambience were exceptional. The locals like it as much as the tourists and that's saying a lot in a touristy town. The Maryland soft shell crab BLT (a special) and the Wagyu carpaccio were outstanding as appetizers. I had the New England lobster tail pasta and hubby had the miso sea bass with ramen noodles. The broth was very well developed. The staff pays attention to details. The kitchen is extremely efficient but they don't skimp on preparation and presentation. We would be regulars if we lived here.

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary by having a great dinner at Geronimo. The service was excellent. They gave us a small sample of the Hawaiian Tuna Sashimi for our occasion. I got the grilled beef tenderloin with frites. The steak was cooked perfectly on a bed of minced vegetable medley with smoked bacon. My wife got the special of the day, Hawaiian opah on top of basil risotto with a red bell pepper puree. We both loved the fish plate. So happy we came when it was an off menu special. For dessert we had the lemon crepe and banana cream pie. The lemon crepe I could eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or midnight snack. It was awesome and refreshingly light after the steak I had. The banana cream pie was perfect with a great flavor. Overall we love Geronimo and plan to make it a staple when we visit Santa Fe.

Mushroom gnocchi from the vegetarian tasting menu. DELICIOUS

Does Geronimo allow patrons to bring your own bottle of wine?

I do not know, so I would call them to confirm.

Does Geronimo have a full bar?

    Yes

Inside or outside? We'll be there late October for our anniversary.

Ohhh inside. The decor and ambiance are all inside. It isn't too noisy on the street but it definitely is not as special.

    What is counter seating?

Negligible. Huge place with many rooms. Tiny bar. Like 6 stools. I expected there to be a big… Read more

Do they have a Corkage fee?

They do not have a corkage fee. The restaurant lobby is sufficiently powerful in New Mexico that the entire state does not allow a corkage fee. New Mexico is one of only 14 states that still kowtow to the restaurant Association.

    What is standard seating?

    Indoor, regular table.

Is there a bar? I would love to try a cocktail or two, but we have dinner reservations elsewhere.

Geronimo has a Bar. As far as dinner elsewhere. I suggest you cancel and dine at Geronimo. You wont be dissapointed

About how much $$ did you drop per person? I'm feeling decadent.

I guess we're decadent. Two starters, two mains, shared dessert, two cocktails, one bottle of wine usually runs us about 125 pp with tip. It all depends on what you order. Their menu is online. And, I agree that the prices are quite reasonable for… Read more

Place looks wonderful and I already have a reservation. What is the attire? Looks fancy! Traveling in from out of town and want to pack appropriately! Thanks!

People dress casual, but nice., although you will see the gamut in attire. No suit coat required, but definitely shirts and shoes! It is our new favorite place to eat in Santa Fe for a delicious, romantic dinner. Enjoy!

A Love Letter Written in Disappearing Ink There is a…read moreparticular kind of optimism that drives a person into an Indian restaurant on a Saturday evening in Santa Fe -- a city that, bless its adobe heart, does not exactly overflow with subcontinental options. You settle in with the quiet confidence of someone who once spent a month in Mumbai and now believes they understand spice. You are ready. Reader, I was not prepared. Let us begin, as all great tragedies do, with the Vegetable Pakora. The pakora arrived looking less like the airy, craggily fried vegetables one typically encounters and more like someone had convened a committee about pakora and emerged with a dense, dough-forward compromise. Imagine if a samosa and a falafel had a child, and that child had structural anxiety. The texture was fine. The flavor was onion. The vibe was: lunch. The portion count deepened the intrigue. They arrive in orders of three. Three. Not four, which would split evenly at a table of four. Not two, which would behave like an appetizer. Three -- as if the kitchen is conducting a long-running study in social friction. We ordered two plates and found ourselves staring down six substantial dough spheres before the meal had begun. We had ordered snacks and received a commitment. Then -- plot twist -- Paddy's Chicken Tikka Masala arrived and redeemed roughly forty percent of the evening. This dish is excellent. Genuinely. Charred white meat, not the rubbery pallid cubes that haunt lesser tikka masalas, sitting in a tomato sauce that is smooth, tangy, and wrapped in cream with the casual confidence of someone who has always known they were beautiful. The spice balance is impeccable: heat that suggests rather than insists, sweetness that arrives and then politely exits, a buttery richness that begs to be eaten with naan. Which, tragically, we will get to. The Lamb Vindaloo, ordered hot, was the moment the evening reconsidered its direction. Vindaloo should feel like drama. Goa via Portugal. Fire and vinegar and slow-cooked depth and bright spice. It should leave your lips gently smoldering and your palate alert and grateful. You should need a quiet minute afterward. This vindaloo asked nothing of me. The heat was theoretical. The sauce was what I would charitably describe as present. And the lamb -- I say this with full respect for the animal -- was tough. Not rustic. Not hearty. Tough. I worked for that lamb. The lamb did not want to be eaten. The Gobhi Aloo arrived as a meditation on texture and its quiet disappearance. The pleasure of this dish is contrast: cauliflower with toasted edges, potatoes with yielding interiors, both retaining their individual dignity. Here, both vegetables had transcended identity and achieved a unified softness I can only describe as philosophical. The spices were warm and pleasant but the texture had left the building. Then came the Paneer Makhani, which I did not receive. What arrived instead was Saag Paneer -- a dish I do not order, have never ordered, and specifically pointed to on the menu while saying the words not that one, this one, here, I am pointing. Three times. Nevertheless: spinach. My companions enjoyed it. I watched them the way one watches people board a train you were supposed to be on. And now, the naan. Good naan bends. It yields. It smells faintly of yogurt and smoke and the particular satisfaction of bread doing its job. It behaves like a partner. This naan resisted. It stretched before tearing in dry, fibrous protest. When folded, it cracked. When chewed, it demanded effort -- not the pleasant effort of good bread, but the jaw-working persistence of something baked earlier that had since made peace with its circumstances. When deployed to scoop curry -- its entire reason for existing -- it snapped and leaked like a bread-based betrayal. I wanted to soak up that transcendent tikka masala and instead found myself doing structural engineering. The rice was fine. The rice showed up, did its job, and asked nothing of me. The rice deserves stability and health benefits. A few notes: every person must order an entrée or pay a six-dollar surcharge -- enforced at tables designed for two people with no dishes and excellent posture. Four of us were pressed against the wall with neighbors close enough to critique our naan in real time. Gratuity appears at the server's discretion. Ours was so swamped as to be theoretical -- food arrived via supporting cast, the paneer went uncorrected, and most critically, I could not order another beer while I still wanted one. Reservations strongly advised. The verdict: The tikka masala alone may justify the trip. Everything else is a negotiation. One star for Paddy's Chicken Tikka Masala, which deserves better company. One star for the rice, which showed up and never complained. Filed from Santa Fe, with a beer I eventually obtained at home.
