Geronimo doesn't really need another five-star review, but our experience tonight was so lovely that I am writing this. The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi! read more

This was our last dinner out in Santa Fe and was the best dining and culinary experience here. Everyone told us this is the best fine dining in the entire state and they were correct. The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe. read more

I was apprehensive regarding the wasabi Caesar, but the wasabi wasn't at all overpowering and added.nicely to the flavor. The elk tenderloin was perfectly cooked to a medium rare, and the lemon crepe a nice mixture of sweet and tart. Their wine list is extensive and well-curated. Geronimo was highly recommended by family members so we made a reservation in advance and went for dinner our 1st night in Santa Fe. It is a 25min walk from the downtown plaza area so we drove. It was in the art gallery area in an interesting building. The ambiance and decor were incredible. Our waiter was very personable, fun, and friendly. It had a cozy atmosphere and all the staff were great! Overall this was a fantastic experience. Definitely go while in Santa Fe if you can!! We were greeted with a glass of champagne, which was lovely. We shared the Wasabi Caesar salad, the Lobster -Poblano bisque, and the Grilled Beef Tenderloin. The Wasabi Caesar is a MUST!! It is interesting and absolutely delicious. I'm not usually a soup person, but the Lobster-Poblano Bisque sounded good. The poblano was not totally obvious. Overall the flavor was nice. The tenderloin was fantastic as well. It was perfectly prepared. The meat and the sauce had great flavor. The cheese-potato terrine was interesting and very good. Our waiter spoke highly of the Fresh Meyer Lemon Crêpe dessert. I'm not a big fan of lemon desserts, but my husband wanted to try it. It is definitely a large portion. It was refreshing. The lemon curd and the crêpe were the best part. It comes with Limoncello which we poured on top. We didn't love that flavor, so if you try it I'd sample a small bit with it first. Geronimo is an absolutely perfect dining experience. Every dish and glass of wine was perfect. Service was professional, knowledgeable, and exceptionally attentive. It is as beautiful, elegant, quiet space and I like the no cellphones policy. My only small objection is that as a tourist in the area, I felt it was an exceptional meal that I might have in many larger American cities. The cuisine was not unique to New Mexico. Top notch experience all around. Get a reservation and don't arrive too early--no place to wait although Canyon Road is awesome with all the art galleries. We arrived at our reservation time and our table was ready. The inside is beautiful. We were seated and greeted with a complimentary glass of the local Gruet bubbly--very nice. Ordered a cocktail and it was near perfect. We split the wasabi caesar--delicious and the wasabi was not overpowering. Wife got the prime tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection. I had the telliicherry rubbed elk and it was one of the best pieces of meat I have eaten. Shauna was prompt and attentive but not intrusive and helpful with recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Excellence.... It's a given that The Michelin guide is sleeping on Santa Fe but this place in particular blew our minds. We saw the reviews and thought how good can this place really be? Well let's start with the entrance, there isn't a seating area so don't arrive too early but the actual layout is impressive you are greeted by two eternal flames the layout of the restaurant is like a labyrinth. Not all spots created equally, but regardless of where you are sitting the food and service are exceptional. Sure it's a little bit pricey but if you go al la carte you looking at $100-$125 pp all in. The four course vegetarian at $80 is phenomenal value. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and his passion shined through every interaction we had. The dish that blew me away the most was the elk, it was holy cow... probably one of the top 10 most satisfying meals I've had the pleasure of consuming. Please don't come here if you're in a rush. This is an experience meant to be savored and good cooking takes time. The area around the restaurant is gorgeous and historic. Great place to meander and people watch. read more

We had reservation and were seated right away with a glass of complimentary sparkling wine to start while we are looking at the menu. Wasabi Caesar: must try, very unique with Crispy Rice "Dice". Lobster-Poblano Bisque is very rich and flavorful. Pan-Seared Foie Gras is nice but portion is very small. I've been a few times since 2021. Unfortunately, things seem to have headed downhill. Here are a few of the changes I've noticed since 2021: 1.The duck confit, once a favorite of mine, is off the menu. 2. The portion size of the elk tenderloin has decreased to the point where it is no longer sufficiently large to be filling on its own. 3. The butter is no longer soft and whipped with herbs. Instead, it is served too-cold-to-spread, with a single piece of rosemary on top. 4. The servers no longer introduce the sauces for any of the dishes when they are brought out. Instead, a member of the kitchen staff brings the dishes and whispers inaudibly at you. 5. When celebrating an event, the waitstaff no longer ask if you would like complementary champagne or chocolate sorbet, and instead just bring it to you. We wanted neither. 6. Waitstaff now aggressively push you to order more food and drink. 7. The waitstaff have gotten rather condescending. At one point this was more of a come-as-you-are place where the waiter complimented a customer's graphic tee. This year, the waiter bragged about how many times he'd eaten one of the dishes. 8. This year, I was served my steak with no steak knife. Even with all of those negatives, the food is still good enough that it's not a bad restaurant. It just isn't what it once was. With some passion and drive, it could reclaim that former glory, and I hope that it does. read more

We have been coming to New Mexico for almost years now and when we come here we love to reserve us a table for 2 every time! Again, we were not disappointed when we reserved a table for two on our wedding night. We eloped here and so happy we did. The service was everything it always has been and the food was spectacular as usual too! First they brought us out a pea soup which they always have and highly recommend having this if you love pea soup. This is up there with the best I've ever had! The ambience is amazing here too, it's great for celebrating special occasions but it's more of an "intimate" atmosphere. They have some outside seating as well and a small bar but I'm quite sure you should call to reserve your table or bar seats. Valet parking is available and there's also street parking or there's a parking lot up the street where you can pay with your credit card. read more

This place feels very intimate and special from the start. The cocktails are very good, with the bourbon bramble being a real standout. The caramelized pork belly was our favorite starter. The fish special was delicious, but the beef tenderloin was a bit underwhelming. The meat itself was a tad under seasoned so the veal demi was doing all the heavy lifting. My daughter got us an early dinner reservation on Saturday, because everything else was booked. And there is good reason. We were greeted immediately by the hostesses who were very nice, and seated us straight away. From the outside of the restaurant, it is somewhat unassuming, but when you enter, it is elegant, very clean and stylish. Our waiter was not far behind after we were seated, took our drink order and when he came back a short time after that gave us the rundown on the days features. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the Slow-Braised Short Ribs and the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Sashimi & Tartare. When they arrived, they were plated beautifully. And the taste, OMG, the short rib was one of the best, if not THE best short rib I have ever tasted. Cut it with a butter knife and it just melts in your mouth. Super delicious. The tuna and tartare were off the charts as well. So flavorful. Forgot to mention the breads, the green chili biscuits were excellent. I mentioned how good they were and our waiter and he brought out another bowl for us. I ordered the Fiery Sweet Chili & Honey-Grilled Mexican White Prawns for my entree because I mentioned how I like my food spicey and the waiter agreed that is what I should order. He even brought me out a side of the chili sauce so I could add some to my entree. The prawns were large, the rice cakes were delicious as well. A great choice! My daughter ordered the Grilled Maine Lobster Tails, that is her go to at Geronimo, and I now know why. I did get a taste with the pasta. SO GOOD! This is what I would order the next time there. Does this place really need any more 5 star reviews? It's pretty clear that it's the cream of the crop, at least IMHO. I'd put Geronimo comfortably ahead of the usual suspects on the top 10 lists. I was surprised that it's actually comparable cost-wise to its main competitors. If I'm gonna pay SF prices, THIS is the experience I'm happy to pay for. Charming, converted residence with divided rooms, golden ambiance with lovely background music. Wasn't sure how dressy it is given its rep and location, but there were some in jeans. *4.5 star overall rating* I was quite happy to squeeze in a reservation at Geronimo before my Santa fe trip came to an end. I sat at the bar for my reservation. Both bartenders provided excellent service but surprisingly neither told me their names. For starters, I got their Arborio rice risotto: lobster, rock shrimp, kings crab leg & lobster beurre blanc. My bartender was spot on when she said that the rice risotto was minimal coz all that seafood dominated the plate and it did. The soup you see is my bartender's complimentary offering of Wild mushroom & sherry bisque: this has to go down as the *best* mushroom bisque I had in 2024. For my entree, I had their maple-black pepper roasted pork shank: mile mushrooms, brandied demi-glace & baby greens with garlic mashed potatoes. As large as the pork looks, I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it but I did without being overly full. Didn't even need my knife as the pork pieces came right off with my forking! The bartenders did an amazing job with my bourbon negroni cocktail. I had their meyer lemon crepe dessert: Lemon curd, creme fraiche & limoncello. We were pleased to be accepted for a last minute reservation- albeit on the porch because we'd read so much about Geronimo. Unfortunately, it did not deliver. Our server was well informed, but seemed to rush us through the meal. Much attention was given to the presentation of the food, and in every case, it was quite attractive. It was not however, tasty or well cooked. Sadly, the sour dough did not seem fresh. The dumplings were bland, My prawns were dry and even the dessert seemed lacking in pizzazz. Possible that Mother's Day was simply too much to deliver? I'm sorry to be so negative but at these prices I expect dishes that delight the palate, not just a pretty picture. read more

We enjoyed an amazing dinner here. The food, service and ambience were exceptional. The locals like it as much as the tourists and that's saying a lot in a touristy town. The Maryland soft shell crab BLT (a special) and the Wagyu carpaccio were outstanding as appetizers. I had the New England lobster tail pasta and hubby had the miso sea bass with ramen noodles. The broth was very well developed. The staff pays attention to details. The kitchen is extremely efficient but they don't skimp on preparation and presentation. Wife and I celebrated our anniversary by having a great dinner at Geronimo. The service was excellent. They gave us a small sample of the Hawaiian Tuna Sashimi for our occasion. I got the grilled beef tenderloin with frites. The steak was cooked perfectly on a bed of minced vegetable medley with smoked bacon. My wife got the special of the day, Hawaiian opah on top of basil risotto with a red bell pepper puree. We both loved the fish plate. So happy we came when it was an off menu special. For dessert we had the lemon crepe and banana cream pie. The lemon crepe I could eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or midnight snack. It was awesome and refreshingly light after the steak I had. We had superlative service from Miranda and Mauro for our anniversary dinner. In all of our travels my husband's favorite cocktail is the Manhattan Project-and it never disappoints. We ordered the Seafood Risotto croquettes to whet our palate. As Miranda would say- scrumptious! To us-purely delectable. For dinner- my husband ordered his favorite - the Elk Medallions. I opted for the Lobster with pasta which was over the top-the flavors of the pasta with the creamy sriracha sauce and edamame was a taste like no other. We received VIP treatment from start to finish. Both Miranda and Mauro ensured we had every need met. We topped off our meal with the beautiful Tiramisu dessert. I have sat at bars as a lone diner at similar restaurants and felt I needed to have a medical emergency to get attention or pay. Not here. The bar staff were quick, professional and gave great recommendations. We had the mushroom special appetizer in a lemon butter. Yum. Sea bass on a bed of grains w bok choy was perfectly seared, well cooked, flakey and not dry. Wonderful accompanying sauce. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. They executed everything perfectly. Our server Erica and her support staff were a wonderful addition to the evening. She was gracious and very accommodating. I took a trip to New Mexico and in my foodie research I stumbled on Geronimo which offers a tasting menu that allows you to select your choices or a pre fixe vegetarian friendly option. The vegetarian choices are also available to purchase a la carte. They asked not to take pictures inside the restaurant but my choices below. The provide you with a complimentary cocktail upon seating, I wasn't drinking so the bartender made me a mocktail version. It was tasty. They also provide you with a bread tray with different varieties and house made butter. Now for dinner. I selected the following: 1st - lobster bisque, big chunks of lobster and soup was velvety. 5/5 2nd- miso sea bass ramen, the filet was delicious, loved the flavors, ramen was ok. 4/5 3rd- German chocolate cake, very rich, and the whole plate was edible.
